I knew I had to try the osmanthus oolong aerofoam coffee from Pull-Tab Coffee when I found out about it on instagram! On that day when I ordered this aerofoam coffee with oat milk, the guy who took our order was rude. Not only had he deem my question (about whether there was any osmanthus essence in the oolong tea part of aerofoam coffee drink itself) unnecessary, he got our order wrong! He talked over me angrily while describing what the osmanthus oolong aerofoam coffee is made of. I am grateful that one of the staff members who made the drink was super nice and he added the dried osmanthus flowers (which were omitted from my order) which I had requested for my order. He found out that I wanted dried osmanthus flowers sprinkled on top of the foam part of the drink after I asked him why there weren't any dried osmanthus flowers topping when it was served. Of course! After all, questions should be welcomed considering that not everyone is familiar with what osmanthus oolong aerofoam coffee is exactly. I also tried pairing the Kaya butter toast with the osmanthus oolong aerofoam coffee. Even though the coconut pandan flavor in the Kaya jam was too subtle, I liked the toast dunked into the aerofoam. The butter brought out the richness of the coffee flavor in the aerofoam. The decor of the coffee shop included colorful skateboards with the store logo on them, plants in nice pots, plastic bottles on the shelf. It was a little shop with a few tables and seats inside. The Pull-Tab Coffee shop is not a cafe that is big enough for doing work on your laptop I'd say because it would get crowded easily. A bit pricy, but worth trying. More options on the bite menu would be nice. The dried osmanthus flowers made the drink look pretty and the subtle floral sweetness of osmanthus essence in the oolong tea brought out the flavor of the coffee foam. Treat yourself! read more

I was pretty excited to try Pull tab. Their menu isn't expansive - it's pretty straight forward, in my opinion. There's your coco matcha (coconut water with matcha), some coffee options and some tea options. I went with the Coco matcha cloud and bf got the fresh handcrafted tea. My drink was pretty decent and refreshing on a hot day. The matcha is alright, nothing too special. It wasn't deep or bitter enough and I taste the coconut way more compared to the matcha. The handcrafted tea was also pretty decent, it came in a plastic bottle, so that was pretty cute. Overall, the place is alright. Strong tea flavor with coffee foam on top, not too sweet. Next door is a very aesthetic hot pot spot. Minimal seating. So happy I got to try but with all the coffee/matcha shots in Manhattan and minimal seating and ambiance, probably will not return. read more

This was a nice surprise find while in the city. I got the Earl Grey Aerofoam hot latte and also ordered the Guava juice for my daughter. The Earl Grey Latte was interesting but in a good way. It was perfect for the cold day and also really good. I had it with almond milk and love that they have different milk options. Came here to try their matcha, it was really easy because there's really just one cold matcha drink without coffee (aerofoam has coffee in it). I'm glad I tried it, I was skeptical about mixing matcha and guava juice but they did it very well. Well balanced, refreshing and a treat. Their hours say that they're open till 7pm which is great because most cafes close early. I'm planning a little field trip with other matcha enthusiasts so they can try it since they're open later. I've seen pull tab all over tiktok and have wanted to try it for a while! I got the guava matcha, and thought it was good! As someone who drinks matcha almost daily, I will say it was a little on the weaker side matcha wise, but I thought it still had a matcha flavor. Guava and matcha also pair really well together! Honestly, really average for such a high priced drink. The pull tab coffee drink offers a coffee "whip" on top of a tea, which is an interesting combo. The whip itself is really bitter which overwhelms the tea. I also ordered the Kaya toast which was decent. The taste was similar to that in Singapore. It's just a bit overpriced for my liking... I went today during the grand opening so I was able to get my drink for half off. At full price, my juice would've cost $6.81, for a bottle. I was grateful for the fact that there was a complimentary necklace with purchase. Given that it was the grand opening, I had expected a wait. However, the wait time was 50+ minutes, longer than I had expected. I believe that the shop could benefit from pre-making the pull tab bottle drinks, making the wait time faster. I have this incessant need to try multiple things before I give a proper review. But like a serial killer, I'm finding myself with an insatiable urge (to get coffee from Pull Tab). Is the coffee that good? Is there a cute waitress I'm secretly in love with that serves me coffee? Do I have a compulsive spending habit? No, no, and yes. Let's break it down. According to my palette and I suspect a Western metropolitan one, this coffee is not "good". This coffee baseline tastes exactly like instant coffee... yeah. As far as I'm aware from observation, this is how Chinese folks like their coffee and this is a Chinese brand. I had to throw in metropolitan in there because I think rural America drinks coffee like this, but that might be more of a scarcity issue (but I digress). So no, the coffee alone does not taste amazing. What's great! on the otherhand is their mixins (is this a word? I know it is in CSS). With your coffee comes the option of a fruit or tea foam. I'm particular partial towards the earl grey because somewhere in my past life I was a snobby Englishmen. It's a nice balance for what's an otherwise plain drink. If you're looking for something different, try the osmanthus foam. It's a hit or miss, but if that's your jam, you might find yourself rubbing the foam all over your mouth. They also offer jam/paste breaded appetizers... eh. I think that's more for people who miss that from home. read more

It was on top of a large amount of milk. After mixing it in, it just was like a regular, but strong, iced coffee. I got the osmanthus oolong aerofoam coffee, which had a strong coffee-flavor tasting foam on top. It reminded me of how dense a dalgona coffee's foam can be. The coffee was cold and smooth. It comes in a thin aluminum cup (surprise color and design: silver, pink, orange), which seemed less durable than the Ball aluminum cup version though I may be mistaken since it's been years. When drinking straight, it's hard to taste the liquid as a large amount of foam comes out. Incorporating in the foam is surprisingly hard as it doesn't melt into the liquid as easily as I expected. The staff were surprisingly easy going and friendly. When I asked if the inside door led to the restroom, they said I could go through there to use the hotpot restaurant's restroom. When I asked about the free ceramic cup promotion, they showed the stack that was available. I could buy (2) of the coconut series or post on social media to get it. It has a unique shape and is surprisingly heavier than it appears. I asked for a bag for the cup, and it was an illustrated paper bag with a paper 2-drink carrier. Came for their grand opening and ordered osmanthus oolong aerofoam and an onigiri croissant. The drink fell flat for me -- osmanthus flavor is strong, but doesn't work great with the aerofoam taste. The sweetness started to make me feel a bit sick, and I ended up throwing away half the drink. The onigiri croissant is a cute item - a triangle-shaped croissant filed with cream cheese, chive, and bacon bits. Pretty tasty with a hint of sweetness, not really onigiri-reminiscent besides the shape and strip of nori. read more

The foam itself does have a strong coffee flavor, at least on the mocha, but it purely tastes like milk after mixing. Went with coworkers to check out this cafe since one of them saw it on TikTok. There's a couple of small tables inside that fits two people per table. I got the iced banana aerofoam which came with 3 banana chips on top. It was pretty good (the foam was strong and a bit bitter but definitely tasted the banana in the coffee). The cup that they use is a bit different and had great cold retention and kept the ice from melting quickly. If you're on a time crunch, probably not the best to grab a drink since the drinks do take a while to make (but to be fair, we did order 7 drinks and only 2 staffs were preparing the drinks). There were a couple of more staffs there who really should've also made the drinks with the amount of people waiting for their order. Didn't get a chance to try any of their pastries but would like to try their kaya butter toast. Others ordered different flavored aerofoams along with pull-tab matcha latte which they enjoyed. read more
