I've considered stopping in at this place so many times and finally went for it the other day. I decided to try the iced strawberry matcha latte with oat milk for something different. It was really good: Pricey, but quite big (I got the large) and with a good level of sweetness. The syrup had real strawberries in it, so the flavor was really tasty and natural. The matcha was quality, too. The staff members were extremely friendly. There are some outdoor and indoor seating options. All in all, a good experience. read more

It was only a matter of time before matcha got the Chipotle treatment in NYC. Cha Cha Matcha was fine, the strawberry matcha drink was tasty, if not a bit expensive ($8+ as of February 2025). Definitely a nice treat, but not sure I'd go out of my way for another one. If you're a matcha purist (read: snob), you most likely won't enjoy this place. Matcha focused, with some tea, cold brew, and espresso options. Quaint inside with some seating options. Ordered the draft matcha oat latte, matcha flavor is definitely present with vanilla bean and oat milk. Wanted to get the draft oat latte that was listed on the coffee side of the menu but was informed they discontinued that item; would recommend taking items that are no longer offered off of the large display of offerings on the board next to the register. The latte came to $7.63 with tax. They give you the drink without a lid, there is a small station by the door with lids, straws, napkins, and holders for hot drinks. read more

What an aesthetic and intimate matcha cafe! I got their matcha and ube swirl soft serve and it was delicious. I'm usually picky about matcha, but the sweetness was just right. They give out samples if you want to try it out too. It seems like a great option for a quick grab-and-go or for a short meet up with a friend. This was my first time at a Cha Cha Matcha, there are quite a few scattered across New York City and I heard about it from a friend who fell in love with their Matcha Lemonade. The Strawberry Matcha was calling my name so that's what I ordered, my friend ordered the new seasonal Sweet Corn Matcha Latte. My drink was cold, and had a pleasant taste- definitely more on the natural side of strawberry with a prominent floral note. My friend enjoyed her latte but wished there was a little more of that sweet corn flavor, she said she could just taste it. The drinks had a beautiful presentation and the staff was very friendly. The cafe was well kept, and had tons of beautiful retro beachy inspired decor and merchandise in the pink and green color theme that is very prominent in their brand. UPDATED: Owner states they do not use any dyes whatsoever. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and I appreciate them promptly working to assuage my concerns, but the fact remains that my daughter's hives went away once we stopped getting this matcha. Maybe causation, maybe coincidence. ---- Being an obvious tourist, my family and I stopped into Cha Cha Matcha as we'd heard good things. Although the matcha is admittedly delicious and aesthetic, a short while afterwards my daughter broke out in hives. We've known her whole life she's specifically allergic to green dye (yes I'm serious) and no other artificial dyes. It's curious she had matcha (bright green), is allergic to green dye, and then broke out in hives. Their website does not list ingredients (currently a 404 page), which makes me really upset. Had we known about the green dye we wouldn't have come. read more

Given it was my first time at this location, I went with the more classic drinks like the light iced matcha chai latte. I tried the matcha without mixing the drink and you can taste just the right amount of matcha. Once you stir the drink, it would alternate between chai and matcha. My taste buds went for a rollercoaster ride alternating between preferring just chai as is and then somewhat liking the matcha kick to it and ultimately settled on preference for separation of the two. The cashier was sweet and recommended I try her favorite matcha lemonade. I opted to try that a different time. There are a small amount of seat with tables that you might have to wait a little while to get. The drinks will take a few extra minutes over your stock production star bucks shop so keep in mind before ordering.
