mango matcha latte - A green matcha latte with a yellow layer at the bottom is shown in a clear plastic cup labeled 'KIJITORA.' The drink appears to have a frothy top and is set on a wooden table inside a cafe. The background features blurred interior decor, including framed pictures and wooden furniture, indicating an indoor cafe setting.

The mango matcha was to die for. It was pretty thick because of the mango puree but I was scared that it would be too sweet and it wasn't. The shop itself its pretty small and has very limited seating but on a Monday morning there was no wait and lots of seating available. Service was speedy the drinks were out in a minute. I would love to go back and try the strawberry matcha.

I found this matcha to be very bland and milky. I paid $8 for an almond milk iced matcha with 50% sweetener. You're charged for ice and alternative milk but otherwise it's $6. I didn't end up finishing it. I do think this place has potential. I'm not sure if it's the ratio of matcha to milk or the quality of the matcha that they're using but it wasn't great. The matcha is also prepared in batches.

It was a lot of red bean which made the drink quite thick and hard to drink. Not sure i tasted a lot of matcha but i like red bean so wasnt too mad lol

Iced strawberry matcha latte - A hand is holding a plastic cup containing a layered iced matcha latte with green and red sections, topped with a straw. The background shows the entrance of Kijitora café, with a glass door, an 'OPEN' sign, and a small outdoor sign listing coffee, matcha, and onigiri. The café has a modern exterior with a light-colored awning and some visible interior lighting.

On the quest for the best matcha in NY and my friend recommended this place (and saw this on Tik Tok, so I HAD to stop by). Went on a Friday around 9AM, and there was a little line, nothing too crazy. The servers were very nice and the inside is cute (definitely no frills). Got the iced strawberry matcha latte with oat milk - it was very sweet. The strawberry syrup tasted fresh but definitely drank on the sweeter side, that's alright! Anytime you add some fun fruit into matcha, what else would you expect :) If you want more of a sweet treat, definitely get this.

It's nice that there's such cute cat merch! There's also decent seating and not a long wait. I've been to one of the locations in Brooklyn and it was pretty good so I was excited to see this pop up so close to me in the city. I'm sad I didn't get the regular cat cup - they must've ran out and it was just regular cups. I got the mango matcha iced latte and something about the temperature was just off. The mango purée is on the bottom and after you work hard to mix it up, the whole drink becomes a smoothie. ($9) The tuna mayo rice ball was decently sized - pretty much rice with canned tuna and mayonnaise. ($4). No cat grilled cheese here - I think I'll come back to try it one more time and I hate to say it but nothing is really setting this location apart from matcha places in the city.

Menu - A digital menu board displays various coffee, tea, and onigiri rice ball options with prices at a café. The coffee section includes drinks like espresso, americano, matcha latte, and mochi. The tea section features matcha latte, iced strawberry matcha latte, and other flavored teas. The onigiri rice ball section lists different fillings such as salmon, tuna mayo, and smoked salmon. Below the menu, a staff member is working behind the counter with coffee-making equipment and supplies visible. The setting appears to be a small, casual café with a focus on beverages and rice balls.

Matcha latte was great, probably one of my favorites in the city. However, inside there was basically no seating, maybe like 6 seats total. Definitely more of a grab and go place. They do have Wifi: KIJITORA_guest, Password: kuromame. Service was pretty quick.

Simply put, Kijitora serves some of the best matcha in NYC. This eclectic cafe offers light bites, coffee, and great matcha, all wrapped in a fun cat-themed concept. If you're visiting specifically for matcha, the strawberry or mango matcha latte are must-orders. You can't go wrong with either as the fruit puree pairs beautifully with the matchas depth and balance. The mango matcha latte did seem slightly thicker in texture, but both drinks remained exceptional. I was very tempted to purchase their matcha to recreate the drinks at home, though that will have to wait until my next visit. The matcha was so good I visited this second location closer to the city! If you're looking for a cute cafe that truly excels at matcha, Kijitora is well worth visiting!

Service: 4.3/5 Food: 4.1/5 Price: $$ ($5-10) Pretty small shop + yet they have enough space for a counter + a few seats. Cute cat theme which they carry throughout the shop + cups. What I Ordered: - Matcha Americano: earthy + not astringent, not strong in flavor however it left me buzzing, very natural taste

So glad I was able to try this place in the East Village! I loved the aesthetics of the mini-shelf displayed in their shop and the diversity of their menu including coffee and matcha drinks. My friend and i eventually settled on their Mango Matcha Latte and Strawberry Matcha Latte, which we didn't have to wait too long in line for on a weekend morning. Our drinks were aesthetic and colorful, with the orange/yellow mango and red strawberry colors popping out! My Strawberry Matcha Latte tasted fresh, and I appreciate the even blend of flavors of both strawberry and matcha. The texture of the strawberry puree was a bit rough, but the matcha part was smooth. I'd love to try their other non-matcha drinks and visit their Brooklyn location in the future!

The mango and strawberry matcha were so smooth. The rice balls were bigger than we expected! Loved it

Mango matcha latte: $8.50 with oat milk, $4 miso salmon nigiri - A cold matcha latte with ice cubes and a layered appearance is on a wooden table, accompanied by a rice ball wrapped in seaweed on parchment paper. The background shows a wooden cabinet with various items, a potted plant, and a tiled floor, indicating an indoor café setting.

(cafe hopping while I was in nyc for a week) I walked a longgg way to get here, had to cross it off my list since I saw good reviews/recommendations & can say it was worth trying! ordered an iced mango matcha latte and miso salmon onigiri. latte was definitely on the sweeter side, but I liked the mango syrup a lot. the matcha itself was yum, nothing bad about it but also not outstanding in flavor. onigiri immediately fell apart on me but was still of great value & a solid option when in need of a small bite. a very small, cozy space, I was lucky to grab an empty table to briefly recharge. worker who took my order was very kind.

dirty black sesame latte and matcha latte - The image shows two iced drinks in clear plastic cups with cat and teapot illustrations printed on them. The left drink is brown, likely coffee or tea, and the right drink is green, possibly matcha or green tea. Both drinks contain ice and are placed on a light wooden table. In the background, there are blurred figures of people and a colorful drawing of a cat on the wall, indicating a casual, cat-themed café setting.

Had Kijitora (Brooklyn location) bookmarked for a while so I was so happy to hear they opened one in Manhanttan! Loved the variety of their coffee and matcha drinks and ultimately decided to try their original matcha latte, red bean matcha latte, and dirty black sesame latte. The matcha latte was smooth and well mixed; it struck a nice balance between being too creamy or too watery. Matcha flavors were good but wish they were a little more prominent (compared to other matcha places around town). You have the option to sweeten your drink. The base of the red bean matcha reminded me of the Cantonese red bean ice drink 红豆冰 - blended red bean with milk. They add matcha to it, which nicely complimented the sweet red bean flavors!! Be sure to give it a good mix to get the best ratio of ingredients tho!! The dirty black sesame was probably my favorite out of the three! Their black sesame paste is so refined that it mixes and suspends nicely in the coffee. It has a very fragrant nutty flavor from the grind up sesame. The salmon onigiri featured tender and well seasoned fish. The beef had nice sukiyaki flavors but I still preferred the salmon. Appreciated how they heated it up for us. The store has a decent amount of seating as well as a bench outside. The cat and matcha merch are super cute. Shoutout to their sustainable straws! I look forward to coming back to check out their other drinks and snacks!

It's worth trekking out to this joint, as Tik Tok has advised through many influencer videos. The Korean mom/pop shop really knows what they're doing, though I wish there was a bodega cat to share company while I had the quick wait for the sandwich to be assembled. The sandwich did not have anything missing, and despite not having the soup broth, it did not make me miss it. The greens were SO fresh and the meat was so hearty. Every visit reminds you why Parisi has survived since 1903 while trends and neighbors came and went. Let's talk about The Dennis--the undisputed star and a true signature sandwich. This thing is a monster, built on Parisi's legendary fresh-baked bread that somehow stays crisp, chewy, and perfect no matter how much goodness gets piled inside. You get a crispy breaded chicken cutlet layered with thin-sliced prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, and (if you know what you're doing) roasted red peppers. It's all brought together with their house balsamic blend and basil herb spread/pesto--bright, savory, and completely addictive. I cannot confirm or deny that the sandwich is named after me, but I can confirm it's flawless. Pro tips: * Cash only, old-school rules apply. * Come hungry or plan ahead--this sandwich is big enough to share or save half for later, and it still eats beautifully round two. * Tip the sandwich makers. These folks are artists, and the tip box deserves some love. Beyond the food, Parisi is living New York history. From its origins as an Italian bakery on Mott Street, to feeding generations of locals, to being famously beloved by Frank Sinatra (yes, the bread was shipped to California), this place is woven into the fabric of Little Italy/Nolita. Legends like De Niro and Scorsese are fans, and you can still feel that old-world soul--right down to the original brick oven relic resting in the basement. Parisi isn't just a deli. It's continuity. It's tradition. It's proof that when you do one thing incredibly well for over a century, people keep coming back. And once you've had The Dennis, you will too.
