He noticed some foundation settling but did not try to up-sell a repair that he did not think we needed. Instead, he focused on improving our footer drainage. The crew (Tommy, Zach and Caden) arrived on schedule, and worked in very cold conditions, quickly and efficiently. They completed work as planned and cleaned up the site to my satisfaction. The bid from SFR was neither the lowest, nor anywhere near the highest. But the knowledgeable estimator, the low-pressure collaboration to define the project, and the quick, efficient completion of the work, made them the best choice.

Had a large, obtrusive puddle forming in my driveway every time it rained, which would stay there…read morefor several days during the winter, and which was also blocking the pathway to my back door. Paul at Allied worked with me over the course of four months figuring out the best way to deal with the problem. The solution was a channel drain that would lead to my existing gutter drainage system. Because of the topography of my existing driveway, I assumed that there would still be a fair amount of puddling even after the drain was installed and that I would just have to live with it. In the days just after the install however, it rained quite a bit, and the drain worked pretty much perfectly. The puddling has been reduced by about 95%, and the water that does collect is shallow enough to handle easily. After the rain stops, the remains evaporate after a few hours. The small lake that I used to have to walk around is gone. The guys who did the install were professional and very courteous and Paul was very knowledgeable and patient in response to my many, many questions and emails leading up to the install. Would definitely recommend Allied for any project, large or small.

Trust is 100% restored knowing that if problems come up they will take any action needed to follow up. I will also say that the work they originally did was actually to code, and we agreed that the moisture problems arose due to the nonstandard setup of my dehumidifier, NOT because of errors in Terra Firma's work. Thank you Terra Firma.*** Unfortunately, I have to drop a negative review in the interest of warning other folks that their work has gone downhill. I previously had an excellent experience with Terra Firma for management of a water problem in my crawlspace. I hired them without question again for my current property for management of moisture issues, and I didn't check their work upon completion as thoroughly as I should have. Unfortunately, about 1 - 2 months after completion of work, I discovered a large mushroom growing out of one of the structural posts in my crawl/basement. On closer inspection, I noticed that the dehumidifier water discharge line they installed was dumping less than a foot away from my foundation, corresponding to the exact spot the mushroom was growing. Moisture was the exact problem they were supposed to fix, but now they have created a severe structural problem secondary to moisture with the dehumidifier line dumping large quantities of water right next to my foundation. In other words, they created the exact issue they were purporting to fix by collecting the moisture and depositing it into my foundation. Once fruiting bodies are growing out of wood, this is an indicator that the wood is severely compromised and the fungus network has grown extensively. I now have a very expensive and serious problem to fix. I called to let them know about the problem, not sure if I will hear back from the coordinator/ the team who did the work. I am not sure if I would trust them to fix the issue after the damage they have caused, but I would accept financial remediation. If they take steps to make things right, I would update my review. I would not hire Terra Firma again for any crawlspace work, be it structural or moisture related because of the big problem they have caused. Again, just would like to warn others.

He wasted time by having me watch a video of their process, and attempted to get me to agree to a proposal the day of - estimates running in the $15k-$50k ranges. Their estimates came in higher than their competitors by about $5k including Groundworks. When I informed him that I would not be using their services, he replied with, "What are your plans for your sagging floors? How do you plan to address this?" I have met with many contractors on this same issue, and no one else aside from Groundworks and TerraFirma has attempted to blow our issues out of proportion. However, Noah did offer to do a side by side comparison of the other offers with his, which I did not take. I ungraciously assumed it wouldn't have been attempt to price match, but to take another opportunity to push me more on his proposals. Don't use them, if you want to avoid fear mongering and overpriced services.

Excavators NW used a simple inexpensive fix and since then my basement has been dry. We had been quoted by others nearly 10 times what Excavators NW charged. Excavators NW had a much better understanding of the drainage and reasons for the flooding. Their repair included partial sewer drain replacement, French drain, and a sump pump, all of which were a lot less costly and made more sense for our 90-year-old Ballard home than what other companies proposed. I found out Excavators NW do a lot of work to keep houses dry since most of their business is lifting houses and putting in new basements.
