As in you cannot purchase a reptile or handle one unless you are 18 years or older. WE LOVE TO SEE IT. Other than that they have a WIDE variety of goods and brands if you have more "common" furry friends aka dogs and cats. And when they have sales, like when I went for, Black Friday, the sales were for an entire week afterwards and their store hours are for an entire 2 hours after normal hours. It was also 20% what I believe is the entire store AND some other deals as well. Good stuff! Staff was also friendly and helpful. I think they also have dog grooming and either a boarding or training area. If I'm ever in need of extra UVB lights, I'll check them out!

Since I met up with a friend for lunch in the area, I called in and they were able to accommodate Darby same-day! Shout-out to Emily for helping Darby when I misunderstood the conversation and accidentally brought him in "by 4:30" instead of "at 4:30" like instructed, oops! :) There was a short wait time for grooming since team members needed help at the register, so I walked around the store while waiting. The registers seemed a bit short-staffed for a busy Saturday, but it's good to see families picking up supplies for a new aquarium and good treats for their pups. I myself stocked up on some smelt fish treats that I usually add to Darby's meals. While waiting for Darby, I passed by the betta fish (of which I also have one) and some seem very lively and others more lethargic. Check clearly if you are in the market for a male betta. The fish supplies though, like Fluval's aquarium stratum for plants and Hikari pellets, are well stocked.

At this point, I would recommend saving your time and choosing another option.

I have few friends that do own dogs and cats. One of my friends wanted to go check out this place and see if she could adopt a cat and replace the cat that she had that passed away 6 months ago. She couldn't wrap her head around the devastation of losing her cat Katy. With that being said, she asked me to go with her to this animal shelter and see if she could adopt a new cat. I agreed and went there like 2 weeks ago. There was this one cat that she instantly fell in love with, did all the paperwork with their staff, got all the information pertaining to the vaccines, immunizations, medications, & vet information. All the employees were caring, nice professional and helpful. The shelter was nice and clean. Established in 1903. They also do dog training, have pet supply store, animal control, workshops & kids programs. She had tears of joy in her eyes after adopting her new cat and named her after her late cat. For me, all this was new. Who knows, maybe one day I will adopt a cat and give it to my mama and she will get used to the animal.. hours of operation are 9:30am-5:30pm. Seven days a week. We parked outside and don't know if they have parking or not. The entire process was quick, fast, effortless, and seamless. Good luck to my friend & to her new cat!! I'm extremely disappointed with Pasadena Humane. I found two…read morehatchlings after discovering their mother and two other babies had already died. I did everything I could to care for them for 24 hours, but I knew they needed proper care and expertise to survive. I reached out explaining the situation, and while waiting for a response, my boyfriend brought them in--because what facility would turn away clearly vulnerable, dying animals? Apparently, this one would. We were told they needed "proof" that the mother was dead. That alone was shocking and honestly upsetting--what more were we supposed to do, bring the deceased animals with us? In a situation where time is critical, their lack of urgency and compassion was incredibly frustrating. Thankfully, we ended up driving all the way to Malibu to a nonprofit wildlife organization that didn't hesitate for a second to take the hatchlings in and give them the care they needed. I'm relieved we didn't leave them here. The birds survived and are on their way to thriving, and I truly don't believe that would have been the outcome if we had trusted Pasadena Humane.

Just a quick note on grooming -- They only lost one star because the grooming wasn't entirely up to our standards. After our grooming visit, our dog experienced some temporary skin irritation on her back - possibly from dryer burns, hard brushing or just an allergic reaction to a shampoo used. Also, her hindquarters were clipped awkwardly, although that one may have been my fault for being unspecific in my request. Our dog and cat seemed like they were well taken care of on all the occasions we left them in this company's care. It was clear that our dog loved them. Our cat is sort of a snob, so who knows what he's thinking, but he did seem as content as usual when we got home. Tammy was our main sitter/walker there and our normally shy dog adored her & her little dog. Sometimes we'd run into them in the neighborhood and Star would get super excited to say hello. That says a lot! Also, the company was great about communication, before-during-after, provided easy billing, set up easy key exchanges and they were always pleasant & gracious. It was also nice that our home was always clean when we got home and everything was in its proper place. We recommend their petsitting & dogwalking services to others in Glendale. And we wish we didn't live so far away now so we could keep using them!

Sign up for their free rewards membership so they've got you in the system. That way, they can see for example you made a 2nd purchase of a certain doggie kibble and can get the 3rd bag for free. After trying several treat exchanges because my dog is very picky, I asked for a return and the person (may of been the owner, whoever was at the front desk) told me to go get another product for exchange. I didn't appreciate that but I let it go and went to get another treat to try. My dog still didn't like it but I just let it go and had him eat them anyways.
