We go here every time we're in Madrid. From octopus to croquetas, the food is always high quality. (Pero vamos Atléti!)

I truly have to highlight Pepe, Franco, and Grace for taking the time to speak to us and get to know us. The food was FANTASTIC. We ordered the seafood paella, jamon iberico, garlic shrimp, and sangria. The paella was filled with a ton of flavor which was DELICIOUS. Everything was fantastic, but the Sangria was spectacular, (probably one of the best sangrias I've ever had). At the end of our meal, Pepe brought us two liquor de Limon shots, which made our whole night!! Definitely recommend this place in the La Latina neighborhood. You won't regret it!

The…read morespace is very small and they manage to fit a surprising number of people inside, so you immediately notice how tight the squeeze is. It has that classic bustling tapas bar energy where everyone is close enough to feel like part of one big conversation. The food was the highlight. The clams were flavorful and fresh, the octopus was cooked beautifully and the paella was delicious. It is a great place to stop in for a drink and a quick bite, especially if you want something authentic and lively. When we visited, it was packed to the point where you were shoulder to shoulder with other guests and close enough to easily hear the party next to you. It adds to the charm if you enjoy that classic crowded European dining atmosphere, but it is something to keep in mind if you prefer more space.

They told it would 30 minutes to make and meanwhile they brought us some delicious marinated olives and bread. We also ordered a churrasco which was brought on a sizzling platter. Muy delicioso! We had plenty to eat. Our server offered some dessert but it was impossible to eat more. So he brought us a "natilla", some sort of vanilla custard sprinkled with cinnamon and a sugar cookie on top. Even though we were stuffed we gobbled that natilla down. The service was wonderful, and friendly. The ambiance was very very tastefully decorated .

But I'm here to talk about the food, right? Like I said, it was a late night so I didn't want to order anything big or a heavy meal so I opted for a potato tortilla (omelette) with a sliver of marinated red pepper and a bocadillo sandwich with Iberian cured ham (prosciutto), oil and tomato; easy on the ham, heavy on the bread. Nothing special here so I'm having a hard time giving more than 3 stars. You can get this anywhere and cheaper. I got the slice of tortilla right away but it took them 20+ more minutes to get me my sandwich. To be honest, I was hungry and I thought they forgot. I was going to ask for the check when they came over to me and asked me again if I wanted olive oil and tomato on my sandwich. So I waited another 5 minutes for them to prepare it right in front of me. In my mind, I was making excuses that the kitchen was crazy busy but in reality they must be understaffed. Btw, the olive oil they used was kind of harsh tasting; not a fan. So, meh? I did see a couple of plates coming out from the kitchen and they did look very nice.

My friend and I staked out some seating here a couple hours before the Madrid vs. Barcelona game on a Sunday night. The gentleman we spoke with outside confirmed they did have TV's, and showed us a few possible places inside that would be good for watching. Sure enough, we arrived back a short time later and he took is directly to the prime seats. He got us extra chairs, and even informed all the nearby servers that we would be switching tables once some other people left, as that table had a better view of the game. I was incredibly impressed and how well we felt they took care of us and checked in to see if we liked our setup and needed anything. Needless to say, our husbands were quiet happy when they arrived. Between the experience we had at Jarritus and the incredibly close game, our night here is certainly one of the most memorable we had in Madrid. The only menu item we tried that night were the artichoke hearts which were "melt in your mouth" good! Can't recommend this place enough for the great atmosphere as well as the friendly and accommodating staff. They are truly a step above!
