We went on a Saturday morning when they were hosting kids parties...so if your an adult wanting to escape the children go by there on weekdays. The horrible quality of this place has inspired me to write my first ever review! I am an extremely gracious and sympathetic restaurant goer. Horrible service does not phase me, and I don't mind being over-charged for good food. But with Pudding I left feeling blatantly and shamelessly ripped off. I paid double the price for food that was made with zero effort, love, or passion. My girlfriend and I went there for brunch to have pancakes. The menu said that they came with Maple Syrup. I was so excited, to pay 10 euros for pancakes, I was thinking some delicious, fresh, big steamy pancakes were going to come out with yummy real maple syrup! What came out was a joke and like a slap in the face. They were small, pre-made, dry, and heated up in the microwave. The whole point of pancakes are that they are freshly made!!! They are already a fast food to make fresh, that is the whole reason for them being made at restaurants!!! The pre-made, poorly-made pancakes were not the worst part. The whole philosophy of this restaurant can be seen in their "maple syrup." It immediately looked strange. It came out in a little glass and you could see that the bottom 95% of the syrup was as light yellow color, and the top 5% was the brown color you normally associate with maple syrup. It looked weird and I was concerned it was fake maple syrup. The truth was even worse. To save cost and at the same time still be able to claim that they were serving maple syrup, they gave almost all honey with a dash of maple syrup at the top. This shows the entire attitude of this place, cutting corners to make a quick buck. You pay twice the amount of money for something half the quality of McDonald's! I am not exaggerating at all to say that McDonald's pancakes are 2 times as good as Pudding's, and half the price. The service was downright disrespectful. We complained, speaking fluent Catalan, saying the syrup was not real maple syrup. One guy said he would talk to the "chef" (aka the dude that heats the stuff up in the microwave, hahaha) and get back to us. He never came back. We talked to another waiter and I have never seen a response like this before. He looked at us, acknowledged what we said, said nothing, and left. It was like a slap in the face again. Anyway, please don't go to this restaurant, you will feel violated after you over pay for crappy food and service. For Spanish people, imagine going to a restaurant and paying what you would pay for a really good paella and what comes out is a frozen paella that was heated up in a microwave. read more

Notwithstanding this site saying the closing time was 10 pm, when I arrived in the pouring rain with my wife and three children, a male employee would not let us in because he said they closed at 9pm. I had a really bad experience in Pudding. Ok, to be fair, the waiter was politely rude. I think that would be the best way to put it, or perhaps it's just not the best place to be during weekend. I only went there because it was advocated as one of the good places in Barcelona to work in with Wifi. 1. wifi kept dropping, over and over and over and over again. 2. I was kicked out of a table (when there were four big empty tables around), because he thinks I occupied too much space. I would kindly leave the table if I saw other groups of people suit that space more than I do. I only sat there because I saw the spaces were empty. 3. The waiter didn't really want me to stay there so kept making hint that I should not stay for too long. I guess being the single person over there, trying to get some work done on a weekend is just not good enough for this busy popular cafe. I cannot judge whether it is a good place for cake or not; the whole experience kinda made me gobble down the food and drink very fast because I didn't feel welcome at all. But I think the red velvet was very mediocre. I'm sorry, but I would not recommend anyone going there again for any reason. read more

The waiter was incredibly rude and did not attempt to engage in English or Spanish, of which I speak both. It was lukewarm and cold in spots and was not heated evenly or thoroughly. Been traveling Spain for a month and I realize the service isn't what you'd expect to find in the states where servers work for tips but this was the worst waiting experience I've had in this country. Took a couple minutes for anyone to even notice that I had entered the restaurant and needed a seat. Once seated, took 10 mins for the waitress to take my order. And when the meal was finished, took 15 mins to get the check. She just plain forgot about me; which she acknowledged with a "disculpe."
