What an ingenious idea?? Convert the lobby of a hotel into a bakery or build a hotel on top of a bakery or which way ever. No comments here about the Praktik Hotel as such, but the bakery (aka the Baluard Barceloneta) was absolutely first class. I should have visited it before and more often, because the selection of stunning breads, croissants of all sorts, and pastries is endless - and inevitably overwhelmed my high capacity stomach, a 3.8 L 8-speed engine, much too fast ... The croissants are super crisp, almond or chocolate or plain, and multiple tarts and brioche and and and ... and a great coffee. Superb place for a breakfast before taking for a day-long stroll through this fantastic city!!

Absolutely amazing place and fantastic food! I thought this place was going to be expensive considering of the location, and boy was I wrong! First of all, the idea of a hotel being on top of the bakery is such a great idea, and the coolest thing is that their front desk is right there at the bakery/coffee shop! So practical and adorable at the same time! Their cafe con leche is the bomb, Starbucks has nothing on their coffee for sure, freshly squeezed oj is another favorite, along with their super flaky croissant ham and cheese, chocolate croissant, and cinnamon bun! Can't wait to go back! Congratulations Praktik Bakery!

Such a horrible photo, it doesn't even do it justice.

If I had a genie grant me 3 wishes, I might ask him to duplicate Praktik Bakery and put it right next to my house. This little spot is AMAZING - and I mean the all caps. I ordered a matcha tea muffin and was blown away by how flavorful and moist it was. My boyfriend had a tart and the bite I had was awesome also. Beyond the great assortment of delicious baked goods, the decor is cool and filled with plenty of plants. Seriously one of the coolest bakeries I have ever been lucky enough to step foot in. Go if you are in the area.

When I'm Spain, one of my "musts" is finding a good bakery. This came up on a web search of best bakeries in Spain. The location of the cafe is not much to speak of; it's in a hotel and is a little loud and cramped. I asked for a bag and took my treasures back to the flat I was staying in. I went first thing in the morning and everything was so delicious. The presentation of the food is beautiful as well. They have many different kinds of pastries as well as sandwiches and delicious juices available. I thought the prices were very reasonable. If you're in Barcelona, this a definitely a stop you don't want to miss!

Raquel was amazing- she helped us with a special meal due to food allergies. The place is inviting and staff very friendly.

Enjoyed the coffee, atmosphere and sweet desserts here. Friendly staff and prices are reasonable. Coffee was good, we had the cinnamon roll which was nice but more like a muffin texture, and the pain au chocolat (napolitana) were pretty awesome. With two coffees: 6€. Unbeatable for a nice looking coffee spot in a great part of town!

Now I say "enviously" because, while I long for the Spanish-style bakes of dreamy soft bread, what I get instead, living in New York City, are the pastries following the French style. That is, lots of croissant and croissant iterations and flaky desserts with not a touch of that gentle soft dough common to Spain. But I digress. Mistral Forn offers many of those said soft breads, most prominently this treat called ensaimada. It is made of this delicate thin dough, coiled into a spiral and, once baked, dusted with powdered sugar. They also come with fillings, including pumpkin jam (delish) or custard. Here, I tried the ensaimada with the latter filling, and it was everything I wish New York City bakes would be. Soft dough, sweet but not too sweet. Comforting. Cozy. None of that crusty bread scratching the roof of your mouth. I do wish New York City would open a Spanish bakery. I don't know if that will happen any time soon, but a girl could dream.

The ensaimada was wonderful. The pumpkin inside was light and not too sweet. The outer pastry was so soft with a generous amount of powdered sugar. I couldn't stop eating this.

We tried one of their chocolate desserts, a chocolate chip cookie and a matcha drink. All of them were great.. so great that I ended up buying a pistachio brookie to go. To this day we regret not buying more stuff to bring back home. The service was great and quick. The place was clean and cute to dine in with a few tables! Overall I'd definitely stop by if I'm in Barcelona again!

Chok is for chocolate…read morebut they didn't sell any actual chocolates... but there was a rotation of special flavored cinnamon rolls, rookies, brownies, mini cakes, cookies, and cheesecakes. There were a few loaves of bread but mostly there were those sweets and it seems they have those all the time. We got a regular cinnamon roll because the flavored ones didn't have as much of the frosting on it which is the best part, and a pistachio cream rookie... no im not sure what a rookie is but it looked like a Levain cookie (the famous one from NY) as it was a mountain of a dessert. We had both treats heated up... although they weren't actually hot lol. The cinnamon roll was on par with others I've had, maybe even slightly drier but the frosting was amazing and I still enjoyed it a lot. The rookie was quite decadent and the inside was an almost cake texture? Still quite tasty but I think both would've knocked it out of the park if they were actually hot and ooey gooey. Five stars because it wasn't bad but I can't say I'm super impressed. I will be going to other gf bakeries over this one
