My 2nd visit in 3 days here in Barcelona and this place still gets 5 stars. Nice friendly service offering samples of the flavors. A must visit when in the Gothic quarters
Ordered: Medium Cone (~€5): 3 flavors: Bisko Deluxe, Banana Split, Sapori di Bosco -Bisko Deluxe: pistachio and cookie -Banana Split: banana, nuts, and chocolate -Sapori di Bosco: panna cotta, pistachio, raspberry crumble Aya's take: Wow, some of the best gelato I've ever had! Hot take: even better than Italy. Gelaaati di Marco has a plethora of flavors to choose from. I definitely felt overwhelmed trying to pick the right flavors but honestly, it's such high quality that you can't go wrong. I loved how the flavors I chose went so well together; from the banana to the pistachio to the chocolate to the raspberry crumble. It was a symphony of flavors that I still dream about. The gelato gets a 5/5 but the service wasn't super pleasant and they could do better at regulating the lines. It's just a mob of people and you have to figure out where the line starts and ends. A must visit in Barcelona!

Found out about this place from the Paramount + TV series Lioness: Special Opps. To my surprise, this place is real and I was in Barcelona and got to try it. Lots of flavors to choose from and excellent quality. If I am in Barcelona again I definitely will go back for more.

They let you try a couple flavors as well so you can sample them before buying a cup or cone. Service is super friendly and fast, so this is the perfect dessert shop for a quick treat! I got dark chocolate and mango and it was absolutely delicious!
A great place for gelato. They have so many flavors. However, when sampling, they pretty much ignored me after two flavors. But, after I placed my order, they were happy as can be to me--very strange. I ordered the Cassata and Mandoria on a medium cone, and wow, absolutely delicious. Especially the oranges in the Mandoria gelato. Both were super creamy. They have minimal seating here, about three chairs, but do have a restroom with a sink where you can clean up after eating that sticky gelato.
Hard not to give this primo gelato a Five. Open late. Quick service. Lots of flavours. Reasonably priced. What more can you ask for. Tried the stracitella and tiramisu--the easiest flavours I could find to spell for this review ;-)
I have to explain my review before my review. My wonderful and amazing wife was raised in Naples, Italy. To me, she's the base line for anything and everything Napoli... I'm from Southern California... so when I get excited to find places that sells Gelato, my wife tells me, if a 10 is being in Naples, my ratings will make sense. "Italian Gelato" is about as a perfect score as you can get. So I asked my wife, and her response was "Today this was Italian Gelato! The only thing missing is the Neapolitan water." There has only been ONE other place... but this review isn't about them, it's all about Gelaaaati ! Every flavor is perfection. Every texture Devine. The piccolo cup is two scoops. When you're in Barcelona, you'll have no shortage of gelato places. You'll hit them every 30 seconds on any given stroll. So how do you know which place to stop? Hit the gelato shop with the line out the door. That's this one. I loved every bite at Gelati Di Marco, though as it was close to my hotel I visited three different times over the course of a week and they always had the same flavors. What's up with that? Yes, your flavors are awesome, but I wish Marco would add more gelati to his arsenal. Am I complaining about amazing gelato? Kinda. Because it's so awesome, I wish I had even more flavors to choose from. This gelato is so good that when a scoop fell on the tile floor of my hotel hallway, I shrugged, picked it up and plopped it in my mouth. You don't do that for average gelato. You do that for heaven-sent, creamy goodness like this. Enjoy!
This place was very good! Very fresh! I had a banana split and chocolate! It was absolutely amazing and taste just like a a banana split. Funny thing is, I don't actually like banana splits but I did very much enjoy the ice cream version! Also I have been to Italy had a lot of gelato there, this was definitely just as good! The crew there was very nice and he let me try many flavors. I liked most that he gave me samples that complimented each other which I though was very cool! Seating in this establishment is very limited but the area is fun so you can definitely walk around while you work off that gelato
There is good gelato and then there is GREAT gelato...this is the greatest! There are not enough days in Barcelona to try all of the flavors. Tonight I had the super dark, only to envy my boyfriend's mojito...just go! Go now!

UM hands down the best gelato I've had in my entire life. And I've had a lot of gelato in my 20 something years. Slightly expensive for Barcelona but honestly still a really good deal and it's SO SO GOOD. Some flavors cost more but it's so worth it. I ate this in winter ish almost spring time so I can't imagine how good it hits on a hot summer day. I am obsessed with the rollo de Canella aka the cinnamon roll... yes it's gluten free (almost all their flavors are ugh love it)... it has actual crunch cinnamon roll cluster things idk what they are but love it and it's so cinnamony and not too sweet somehow. I am also obsessed with the dulce le deche... rich and yummy and love. I also had one that was vanilla and chocolate and orange... refreshing!! I tried like three or four flavors and it was welcomed! I literally came back two days later before my trip ended. Note there are three stools but that's it - more of a grab and walk place read more

The pistachio gelato is amazing! Spring for the "gold premium" version for an extra $1. We did two scoops in a cup. For the second flavor, we had tiramisu, which was a little too sweet for me. Everyone working there is super nice and they'll let you try whatever flavor you want, and they're happy to do it. read more

We are standing on Calle Ferran (Career de Ferran) and someone recommended Gelati di Marco for the ice cream/gelato lovers. We could not have been any more delighted by the recommendation. I have had gelato all over Italy, in France, and at least four other countries... All I can say is whoa!!! The stores's gelati display is totally prepossessing. Every single flavor has its unique and carefully crafted presentation. The quality!! C'mon that's just implicit. I highly highly recommend their Pistachio flavor (the special version) and the Crema Catalana flavor. The latter one, spanish version of Creme Brûlée, is even served with a solid piece of thin caramel. I don't think anyone could regret paying a visit to this place. I am definitely returning the next time I am in Barcelona. read more

Wasn't too impressed with the gelato here. The flavors weren't very organic in a sense that they tasted more like artificial flavoring that the true flavor of the foods they were modeled after . I got pistachio, cookies and cream, and a caramel milky flavor. The pistachio gelato was more bitter than I hoped for and I ended up eating my way around it and throwing it away because I couldn't get used to the flavor. The cookies and cream was just your average cookies and cream and the caramel was probably my favorite although I wouldn't go back for it. I wasn't a big fan of this place at all but I've been spoiled with good gelato in Italy and in the states. This might be as good as it gets in Barcelona but I wouldn't go back. read more

My favorite Gelato place in Barcelona. It was recommended by our Airbnb host and it doesn't disappoint. I got 2 scoops: the strawberry cheesecake and dulce de leche. I tend to always gets strawberry cheesecake flavored ice cream and this one didn't disappoint either with its delicious pieces of strawberry and cheesecake bits. The dulce de leche was very rich in caramel flavor. Both scoops were creamy and thick, exactly how I like my ice cream. Definitely recommend this gelato place compared to the other ones I've been to! read more
I'm going with 4.5 stars. Their premium pistachio was amazing; it truly tasted like I was eating pistachios, just in the form of gelato; I would give that 5 stars. The other gelato we got there was good, but not amazing (not remembering the flavor). The guy behind the counter was really friendly, and the prices were reasonable. If I head back to Barcelona, I'll be coming here again. read more
Amazing gelato. I've been to Italy several times (but I am in no way, a gelato connoisseur) but I have to say, the BEST gelato I've had was here!! It was so good. The textures, the taste, the giant scoops of heaven. I typically am not a gelato person (more of have once in a while and it was enough), but I had to go back the next evening for more. The first night I had a baby scoop. The next I definitely needed a piccolo. My only regret was not getting a bigger size! Definitely top notch. MUST try in Barcelona!! Only criticism, the cones aren't the best. I felt it would have been best paired with a sugar cone, which wasn't available. Definitely not a deal breaker!! read more

I'm going to miss this place so much. In my 8 day stay, I came 4 times. Came so much that one of the employees remembered me after the 2nd time :) When my parents came into town, I had to bring them here too and they could taste the difference between this place and other gelato places. This place wins!!! I wish I could've tried their other items, such as the tiramisu, ice cream panini, and the yogurt. You seriously can't go wrong with any of these flavors. I walked about 1.5 ish miles to this place since it was worth it...must go! read more

This place was fine, but nothing special. They based your cone off the size that you ordered, which was annoying since that meant you couldn't get a waffle cone without ordering a large. This was also one of the more expensive places we went to, and not the largest scoop sizes. There were an overwhelming number of flavors, so lots to choose from, and the gelato was nice and creamy, but not amazing. I'd say there's better places in Barcelona for gelato than here, but it's still tasty. read more

Gelaaati Di Marco is definitely a hot spot for tourists. It's very colorful and the perfect place to stop during your shopping spree on La Ramblas. They have SO MANY flavors to choose from. You are given pretty big portions as well so don't be worried if you order a small! I ordered the stracciatella in a medium cone and it was HUGE. The small would have been more than enough! The stracciatella was so creamy and the chocolate shavings were a great touch. My mom ordered the melon gelato. I was definitely taken back at how fresh it tasted! It was as if you were eating the sweetest CANTALOUPE ever. Great place for some quick gelato! read more
Most gelato shops I've visited in Barcelona are pretty average in terms of quality and taste, but Gelataaati Di Marco proved to be the exception. The store is brightly lit, inviting, and the service friendly and open to explaining the flavors, their origins, and accommodating numerous gelato sample requests. Theres a wide selection of flavors, including some flavors that come in organic options; I highly recommend these! I chose the pistachio from Sicily (there's also another pistachio option; however, that one is nonorganic and wasn't quite as delectable as this one). Other flavors include cherry, creme brûlée, tiramisu, coffee, and mojito. I didn't see the marijuana flavor I read so much about on yelp though unfortunately -- I will be returning to see if it's returned some other day. Flavors can be mixed; I had a medium sized cone and chose up to three flavors for a single scoop. read more

I've taken to calling this place "The Best Ice-cream in the World" ™ "What do you want to do?" "I know let's go to 'The Best Ice-cream in the World' ™!" If someone in the group hasn't been to "The Best Ice-cream in the World" ™, we immediately head there. Everyone who visits gets at least one trip there and always on the first day. As tend to see and speak of things in terms of hyperbole as a norm, most are surprised that it is, in fact, "The Best Ice-cream in the World" ™ Most are fans of the black liquorish, but I can never get away from the Catalan Cream. It's a bit "Soup Nazi-ish" where one has to follow a protocol of paying first, then clutch one's ticket while telling the same person one's selection. I can understand this a bit as it is usually quite busy. I can't be the only one who thinks this because there are about 5 ice-cream,/gelato place between Sant Jaume and the two blocks to "The Best Ice-cream in the World" ™. They are always empty and it's always packed. read more

delicious gelato and huge scoops. We tried five flavors. The avocado flavor was the best by far. It wasn't too sweet and it was so creamy. Tastes just like an avocado. This place takes credit card but it's a 10 euro minimum. There were a ton more flavors so I'd recommend trying a bit more before you settle on one. I also got one that was covered in a thick layer of nutella which was delicious but I couldnt eat too much of it. read more
