Located around the corner from our hotel in Barcelona was a small, beautiful gem named Parallelo. This pristine clean and quaint gelato shop is down a non descript alley with a line of happy people. The line was fast moving and I ordered the vegan gelato of strawberry and a scoop of lemon / ginger. The strawberry was very strong and bold. I know they are in season currently. The lemon and ginger was refreshing and again, very bold. Both scoops were very sweet, sour and a bit tart as one would expect. Parallelo is a good option to try for a scoop of gelato in Barcelona. The gelato was good but the flavor was not remarkable, perhaps due to the vegan options. I would definitely return but avoid the vegan option. read more

Food: Their local strawberry is out of this world! I've never tasted a strawberry flavor so intense and bold! Their local vegan pistachio is also so creamy and has the perfect salt kick. I actually prefer their vegan over their regular, but both are delicious! Love that their products are local and seasonal because you can actually taste the difference! Best gelato hands down and can you believe it's also Vegan!!! We pretty much ate our way through Barcelona and this was the best ice cream, gelato or any desert for that much that we partook in on our adventures in Europe over the summer. The place is cool and vibes are nice with friendly service scooping up the best cold creamy Vegan gelato there is in Barcelona. We were lucky enough to make it a daily stop when heading back to our perfectly close apartment around the corner. We may have tried all the flavors. read more

Located in a small bustling square, this is a small shop with good flavors. I got two half scoops, which was a perfect amount, although smaller than what other places give (not a problem for me, but in case you are used to Luciano sized scoops). Very friendly, local place which very interesting flavors! They had a really cool cinnamon/horchata flavor, which my sister enjoyed. I got pistachio, which had a great pistachio flavor, and their cookie dough-ish flavor, which was full of chocolate and cookie dough bits. The texture is creamy, but more broken up with bits of toppings. The flavor was excellent, and the prices were great! Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. read more

Pistachio gelato was amazing. Very velvety and creamy. A quaint establishments off the beaten path. Friendly and attentive staff.

Great ice cream and usually open longer than some of the other shops. They have some unique flavors and change their menu regularly.

Great ice cream including vegan options. My favorite was the hazelnut. Staff nice too and you can sample before you commit.

They were ALL good but a couple of flavors need particular mention. Lemon/Ginger is addictively tart, sweet, with a slight ginger burn. Palette cleansing. Yeah, maybe I needed that after the 4 other scoops. Might I suggest that you get it in a cup rather than a cone because you'll want to give it ALL YOUR ATTENTION. I'm generally a cone person because I want to reduce paper waste but...I gave in to a cup (on day two). Shropshire blue cheese scoop? STRONG CHEESE-Y goodness. It requires that one really like blue cheese. Iffy? Try a small taste and you'll know, immediately. Mushroom. More subtle, earthy fungal taste. You're unlikely to get another chance at mushroom ice cream and suspect that it won't stay on the menu all that long so, scoop while can. ALSO quite enjoyed: Sweet potato with amaretto Pistachio Hazelnut Passion fruit/mango (with seeds) Chocolate with coffee Had a small taste of the licorice and it has an interesting, "catch up to you" effect. If you're a fan of all things licorice, then it's a good bet. The staff were friendly, helpful, gave out requested tastes. All in all, I had 9 scoops in 2 days and not quite sure why I bothered eating anything else those two days when i could have had MORE. That lemon/ginger, though...makes me want to rent a room. read more

So I was looking for a place to get today's fix of ice cream/gelato when I saw this place with a 4.9 rating on Google Maps, which I of course had to check out and I was NOT disappointed. One reviewer wrote they have the best pistachio she'd ever had, and I thought that obviously she's never been to Mos Eisly in Berlin, but yes, she's right. The memory of Mos Eisly is almost faded so I can't say which is better but this is definitely a winner among winners. I thought that it tasted quite a lot like peanuts though, not that it's a bad thing, but unexpected in a Pistachio flavour. The "Limon y jengibre" (lemon and ginger) flavour can very well be the best flavour of ice cream/sorbet/gelato I've ever EVER had. It was so good in fact, that after I had finished my first three scoops, I immediately purchased a cup with two scoops (one was Fresa though) and I was reminded that one scoop of anything lemony is quite enough, a second scoop is just too sour and kind of ruins the whole experience for me. It was so good I went back here on my last day in town for a last fix of the lovely sorbet. Fresa (strawberries) tasted like they just taken really good tasting frozen strawberries and run them through a blender. When I saw "Straciatella de coco" I thought, "JACKPOT!" two of my favourite ice creams (straciatella and coconut) all in one, but I was kind of disappointed. We visited Barcelona and Italy for two weeks. We tried the gelato here because it was close to our hotel the night before we left. Probably among the finest we have had anywhere including the states. Really enjoyed gelato and good service. Went with family and was initially surprised by some of the eclectic flavors e.g chocolate with habenero. Traditional flavors also available. One of my favorite ice cream places ever. We were staying close by and went there... maybe every day? I agree with the previous reviewers, the best and most pistachio-y pistachio I've ever had.
