I've just recently moved to Winder where I'm having to adjust from my Kroger and I found I can get most everything I want here. This place is clean, the staff is friendly and plentiful and the isles are well marked define things although learning a new grocery store always takes time. There is a Starbucks here as well for those who like Starbucks and they have an advantage program and gasoline so I'm hoping to see if I can get the same deals on gasAs I did with Kroger. There's a fresh meat counter in the back "carniceria" with a pretty great selection of meats both marinated and not. To the left of the meat counter is the restaurant. There was a little language barrier and we had no direction on how to order or where to order but we made it happen. Being from California I am a little familiar with some Spanish words and most foods so I knew what I wanted. On one side of the menu there are also English descriptions of the dish. See placed our order with the nice lady at the register and found ourselves a seat. The restaurant had a constant flow of customers shell we were there so we felt great about what we were going to get. We ordered the quesabirrias, carnita tacos, and a barbacoa burrito. As well as an orange Fanta bottle in Mexico. (That real sugar and fancy glass bottle makes a difference) The carnita tacos were ready first and OMGSHH they had me doing a little happy dance. The carnita was juicy, tender, salty, with all the wonderful bits of fat and pork skin. Add to that the homemade tortillas, anddd then the homemade salsas. I still think of those tacos... Second the quesabirrias came out. I'm not big on ordering trending foods but since this is a dish I make regularly for my family I like to try other's take on it. The tacos were made with the homemade tortillas. This time double wrapped to prevent them from breaking apart. Honestly this dish was just okay for me. Loved the tortillas but the barbacoa, though tender, was actually pretty dry. There also wasn't a crazy amount of cheese so that didn't make a difference. The tacos definitely needed dipping in the consume. Which was also okay. Not the worst I've had but not the best. Didn't receive the dried arbor pepper but I did add some of the chili oil they had and it was a great addition. I love spicy foods and it was perfect for me. Not too spicy and adds a little smokiness. But we warned it may be too spicy for most. The burrito was probably the most disappointing. It was yummy though filled with mostly rice and very little protein. My husband got it with barbacoa which after having the birria tacos we realized was dry so that didn't help. What did help were to add some of all the great sauces they had. Next time we will try it with another protein and probably stay away from the barbacoa even though it's usually one of our favorites. Of course we also grabbed some chicharron before we left because they looked amazing. We usually have a local place we liked to get ours but they looked great at this location we couldn't help ourselves. Even though she was wearing a mask, I could still see her smile. She was very welcoming even for it to be so early in the a.m. She saw that I was lost looking for something, and offered her assistance with a friendly "do you need help finding something?" As she walked me to the buttered croissants, she gave me the freshest batch she had. I was more than delighted and she totally helped my morning to be great. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff was sort of blah. They barely paid attention to the patrons, let alone seemed welcoming. I think restock days are Thursday and even still if you're not sure they'll have what you need you can call in advance. Mom and pop are so sweet and willing to answer all questions. They also have premade foods that are made by members of the community. So not only are you helping a small business when you purchase those items, you're also helping an even smaller private business!

I've noticed lanes are a lot tighter. Like barely fitting two carts side by side. We stopped by the restroom in the back because my son really had to go and surprisingly it was clean. My kids even made a comment about it. Before the update it was pretty sketch and almost always had a foul smell. Pretty average Walmart though stocking needs to be revised. My boys got two items from the toy section with tags of 24.99 and one of the toys rang up 48.99 and the other 56.99. They were stocked shelves with clear labels. It was pretty upsetting but we were in a hurry to go home so I took the L. Someone obviously did their job wrong. Got in the car and took a look at my receipt because the math wasn't mathing between what I bought and what I paid. I also saw my $7 mirror was showing $18.89.. I took it as a reminder why I try not to shop at Walmart nor go in.

I had my reciept it was packed back into its original container with all paperwork inside. i was then told that couldnt do a return because there was only a 30 day periiod for return on electronics and my 30 days was up on April 22. However, posted right behind the associate i was speaking with was a sign that stated, "At WalMart our goal is to satisfy the customer. you can do a return with or without a reciept for 90 days ! No where on said sign did it have posted that electronics were only 30days ! not even in small print ! so the associate informed me that there was "nothing that they could/would do for me ! " What kind of customer service is that ?? needless to say I did NOT leave a happy/satisfied customer and we are out a printer and the money to purchase. The printer was actually for my work so everybody there knows and hopefully is telling everybody they know what an absolute joke Winder WalMart is at handling their customers ! i have 25+ years in retail customer service and i have never, would never allow my customer to leave not satisfied nor would any customer ever be told i couldnt do anything for them !

No alcohol on this trip, but seemed like I was going ti break the bank woth this haul- NOPE... $222.00 & we have actual food!!! Yay!!! My store is normally Lawrenceville/Duluth at Taylor Road & it is getting better. Or I can go to Satellite Blvd, which is pretty good. Oh, Riverside Parkway fixed up nice too...
