Quick stop for breakfast and fruit. Customer service: I headed straight to the bakery section for some croissants, and was helped by Amor. Even though she was wearing a mask, I could still see her smile. She was very welcoming even for it to be so early in the a.m. She saw that I was lost looking for something, and offered her assistance with a friendly "do you need help finding something?" As she walked me to the buttered croissants, she gave me the freshest batch she had. I was more than delighted and she totally helped my morning to be great. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff was sort of blah. They barely paid attention to the patrons, let alone seemed welcoming. Maybe they should take some tips from Ms. Amor (it's so funny that her name is Amor and she acts so lovingly) Would I recommend? Sure. There isn't really anything special about this Kroger. Too many times sale items are "not available", or show up as delivery only. One of the perks is supposed to be fuel price discounts based on dollars spent on groceries etc. except this location does not have competitive fuel prices. I used to love shopping at Kroger, the store has went down hill, entire store is always dirty, you have to check the dates on food they will be expired! The manager is a rude, mean man I have witnessed him on several occasions be mean, rude to store employees! He is a horrible manager I do not understand why he is like that in front of customers as if he is God. I really hope they get store under NEW Management sooner than latter! I won't be setting foot in this location again for at least a while. And most definitely will only be using self checkout from now on. I paid for my groceries in a checkout line. They forgot to give me a bag- I live 20 min away. Was told they would NOT refund me the missing items + I was required to come get the items (40 min of my time) bc it was my fault- no way could it be there fault. Sorry but charging someone + not giving them their items is theft. We are disputing with our credit card company to get our money back. read more

I called the help desk to see if I could exchange baby food pouches before I went in just to make sure it wasn't a problem and the women in the phone said yes if you have a receipt. I said I didn't have a receipt but I scanned my Kroger card so it should pull up and she said that was okay. I go to the store and hour later to exchange them and there is a blonde women and a young boy. The young boy was very nice and helped me with everything but the women........... disgusting attitude. First and foremost she was leaning on the desk with her hand holding her head like she didn't care at all. When I proceeded to try and exchange them the boy said he didn't know how but the women said "I do" and just continued to stand there with a look of disgust not doing anything. A solid minute of awkward silence went by and she said "just do it, just let her do it, I'm not dealing with this anymore, just do it for her" the whole problem with this women was maybe a 3 minute conversation and she rolled her eyes no less than 40 times for something I ALREADY CALLED AND TALKED TO HER ABOUT. Someone said she was the manager another said she wasn't and then when I asked for the name to just report it myself I was not given a name and instead told "it's been a really stressful day, and she has had a bad day, and there cutting her hours so she's upset etc." which respectfully is not the customers problem. I've met only nice people at this Kroger until today. It was at 7pm on October 3rd. I don't know her name but I know she's a blonde lady maybe in her late twenties or early thirties. I've never been met with such a disgusting distasteful attitude. Not only does she SUCK at customer service but she left her young coworker in the dust too. On August 5th we went to Kroger to do my monthly grocery shopping which we have done for the last seventeen-eighteen years. We are 78 and 74 years old. When we were ready to leave my husband suggested we use self-check out which I particularly don't like because there is always an issue. Sometimes the issues are inaccurate scanning or error messages from the machines. When that happens the machines stop working which was exactly what happened when my husband was scanning some Pepsi bottles. A female worker by the name of Sashe came up to my husband some-what annoyed that the machine had stopped working telling him he had not scanned the bottles. My husband told her he had and it had shown up on the screen. She insisted he hadn't and deleted everything. So my husband started over. When it was time to scan the coupons we had I called out to her saying "excuse me" which annoyed her because she was in conversation with another worker. A minute or so later she finished her conversation and came over looking very upset. I asked her why she was annoyed and she stated that I had gotten upset first. I told her I had not and she started to raise her voice and told me that if I had a complaint to go to customer service and state my complaint there. So I said ok. But I then noticed that while my husband and I were packing our bags into the buggy she was at customer service pleading her case with the worker she was previously speaking with; I assumed she was now working customer service. So I decided not to go to customer service. When we were leaving I saw her by another self-checkout with an elderly woman so I approached her. I touched her and asked her what was her name. She became irate, started raising her voice repeating don't touch me. The elderly woman that was standing there became frighten so I turned around and left. This is the second time that we have used the self-checkout and have had issues. We think it's time for Kroger to retrain their workers on how to respect their elderly customers. read more

Bad Customer Service. Only two lanes were open with cashiers. There was a 15 minute wait, as there were 6 unhappy customers in each lane. This happens quite frequently. Really bad customer service and poor management. They are trying to push the self checkout lanes by keeping only minimal lanes with cashiers open. The Kroger in Athens is run much more efficiently. There is hardly any wait time when you are ready to check out. I'll go there instead. read more

This store completely sucks and it is not in one area, but ALL areas. The pharmacy is always complete crap, the employees are always running over customers with carts for those picking up orders, the employees are always rude, the change the store layout all the time so you can never find what you need, and today topped everything. I used a self checkout and this particular checkout was going haywire. I started checking out and it would scan then remove what I just scanned. I would put stuff on the belt only to have the belt reverse and return the food back to me causing the computer to keep saying "help is on the way" at least 10 times in 5 minutes. The cashier got mad at me for having to keep walking over to fix it. I explained something was off with the system only to get an ugly glare and her mutter crap at me as she walked off. I switched to another checkout and this one too was not running right and again she gave me attitude. I knew it wasn't me considering she had to scan things for others at the first checkout I used. Clearly they were having the same issues. I approached another employee and asked if this was common for this woman to be so freaking rude and was told she had been sick lately and that was why she was rude. First off, I know how to work a self checkout and secondly, I have never seen this woman smile, but act like this Everytime I see her there. Get your act together Kroger! read more

I live in this community and have shopped as well as used the pharmacy at this location for 9 years but that stops today! The customer service in the pharmacy is awful. I have watched this for years. Alice the pharmacist is not pleasant there is no accountability or apparent supervision of the pharmacy technicians and it's a the customer's fault. The service is slow in the pharmacy drive through. The store manager David comes out to address the situation and tells me if I don't move through the drove through while they work on my order that he would call the Jefferson Police! Needless to say I will be making a formal complaint with Kroger office in Atlanta as well as corporate office in Ohio. I will spend my hard earned money with companies that value their customers. Kroger is no loner on that list! read more

I can't really speak for its quality of foods since I was making a pit stop, but it seemed fully stocked, clean, and workers were friendly, asking if I needed help finding anything. There's a kroger gas station here also and it's about 3 miles from the interstate (85). read more

Yeah freezer burnt shrimp - I wish I could load a picture on here cuz I took one of what I came home with- - all white w/ freezer burn. Real nice there Kroger- try n make your store pretty and make me wander around trying to find stuff then stick everyone there w/ freezer burnt shrimp. No way the employees could have missed that. Convenient location but they constantly have the wrong prices on their shelves. Management doesn't seem to care that that is illegal. They are overpriced compared to most Krogers in this area of Georgia. The pharmacy isn't even worth 1 star. They are horrible! They take forever and always complain that they are busy yet they don't seem to do anything about getting more staff in there. Customers should not have to wait 30+ minutes EVERY single time they come to get their medicine. Jefferson Kroger is probably the safest Kroger store. I would like to see this store maintain it's hometown feeling. The pharmacy has got a bit hectic over the years and seems less personable, but it is still reliable. I wish their pharmacy app worked better as a whole for Kroger. It needs to be more shifter such as text messages confirming that prescriptions are ready to be filled so customers can easily click to get them started. For the life of me, I cannot understand, how a major food company could become so dysfunctional. It took me 20 minutes to pick up a prescription I called in two days. The deli at this Kroger was terrible. I went in just to pick up a deli sub and had to wait at least 5 min for someone to notice I needed a sub. I told the lady I had never gotten a sub from them before and asked a couple questions. She mumbled something to me back ( I don't have a clue as to what she said) so I just kept on with what I wanted on the sub. I was willing to forget about the service and just eat the sub until I absolutely couldn't eat it at all. The sub was terrible. The bread was super, super dry, hard and stale. I get a subs all the time from another grocery store near my house but decided to give Kroger a try because I was passing by and was starving. I literally took 3 bites and threw it away. read more

Fantastic grocery store! I was on a road trip and was looking for a quick bite to eat and didn't want to stop for fast food, so I found Kroger and was able to actually have fresh sushi to go. A quick walk around the store amazed me - they have all the things in only place that I usually have to stop by three or four places to get when I'm home in Tallahassee, Fl. Do not shop at this store if you value your health! The store has cockroaches in the deli and fresh food section! Health and sanitation warning! Yesterday, I purchased an 8 piece fried chicken package from the hot & fresh deli section of this store. I took it home for dinner with my wife. While we were eating, she suddenly turned pale, dropped her food, and ran to the bathroom, vomiting. On her plate was a small piece of fried batter with part of a cockroach in it. When I returned the remainder of the chicken to the store the next day and explained to the manager, Mr. Akin, that my wife had been up for hours vomiting throughout the night because of this experience, the manager told me in a condescending tone: "Well, I'm not saying this isn't real, but I've just never seen anything like this back there." He then refunded my purchase price (I had to specifically ask to be refunded for tax as well) and then offered me $15 in gift cards. All I wanted was for someone to take ownership over the situation so it wouldn't happen again. My wife is going to have a difficult time trusting food she didn't make herself after this, and the manager never even offered to look into it or admit that it was a real problem. read more

I hate this Kroger is more of a warehouse than a grocery store. It is always so dirty, I need antibiotics after shopping here. It is super crowded, the staff are annoyed when you need assistance, and the produce is comparable to Walmart quality.
