The Kroger on Beechwood is awesome. I generally go very early in the mornings after my Pilates class across the street. A few days ago when getting eggs, I seem to have come across a sort of morning meeting of the employees on that aisle. I stopped to tell them how much I enjoy the store, even against their competitors. I think it's important to say the words, especially for those whose work is pretty invisible. It matters to see well-stocked shelves and have friendly assistance. We shoppers notice. Thank you, employees, for being so attentive to your work. It feels like love. Who doesn't want that?! I like this Kroger more than the one on Barnett Shoals. It's cleaner, looks newer, and is bigger. The produce and organic sections are a lot bigger than the other Kroger. The healthy section (multiple aisles) is huge and really amazing. Also a huge wine selection here! Also open 24 hours so it's great if you are needing something urgently at an odd hour. Only downside is some of the self checkout machines act kind of weird sometimes. I'll just be scanning my items and it will say help needed. And then I have to wait for the self checkout worker to come help me. Sometimes they aren't paying attention and I have to wait quite a while or go over and ask for help. Also I don't really like driving on Alps as it's often busy really but that's personal preference. read more

The people in the store are nice. We go here a lot so we know some by name. If grocery is what you need great place great deals. If you need a pharmacy I would go across the street. Went in to get meds for my wife and the said she hadn't been there for over a year. I had just pick up meds the week before. Took talking to three people before they got it worked out. My friends and I went to this Kroger this morning to grab a few things and a coffee from starbucks located in the store. Understandably it was very busy being as it's game day. After waiting 30+ minutes for a coffee we politely asked for a refund. When asked for a refund Taleah the employee at starbucks ignored us. After asking for a refund for the second time she told us "she can't do that right now and do we see what she's doing" so then we said we're sorry we're paying customers and would like a refund. She then got an attitude and started cursing at us. Telling us she didn't "give a f*** that we would like to speak to her manager. Horrible customer service. Always out of stock on everything and very rude employees, went in there one day to get a money order and somehow it was smeared and the cashier refused to print a new one or refund my money. Landlord sent my M.O back and caused me a late fee, contacted the manager and he politely yet angrily told me there wasn't anything that could be done and brushed me off the phone. I'm just gonna give it four stars i will update as i have school!! This kroger is definitely my favorite one because i get to have some romantic time pushing the carts around for my princess! They got a nice wine and alcohol selection, and the organic selections are one of the broadest i have ever seen in metro atlanta ( Shout out to Amy's didn't know about this brand until this year).... The dude with the long hair who works late night shift def needs a raise.... he works really hard keeping this store running. I like this kroger more than the kroger near my house, but i got to agree with the person below me, this kroger has the worst entrance and exit compared to other kroger's i have been to. Highly suggest putting two traffic lights one near the middle school and the other one near the chili's and chiptole corner! read more

They over charged me $37.70 for a pickup order. I called the next day and they began the refund process, telling me that it would take a week-10 days for it to go through. It has now been 5 weeks, and i have called at least 15 times and they keep feeding me bullshit and passing me off to the next person without actually doing anything helpful. Why couldn't this Kroger have been this nice while I was at UGA?! They have completely redone the entire store - no longer are there cramped aisles, ugly produce upon entering, nor rude employees who purposely avoid eye contact. Now there is space! A hot bar! A fancy deli and sushi station! I wish they had done this remodel five years ago when I could have enjoyed it. Even so, a friend and I ventured in to pick up some last minute tailgating supplies before a Saturday football game and were amazed at how easily we moved around the store and how friendly the employees were. Everyone we passed provided a smile, a wave, or the occasional Go Dawgs! All of the items we needed were in stock and easily found on the shelves. Check-out time was a breeze and the lines were pretty manageable. The managers were out helping direct the flow of traffic and made sure everyone was well taken care of. The parking lot is huge so it was easy to find a space and leave with our purchases in tow. Glad this Kroger listened to all of the feedback it received and made a positive change! read more

By far my favorite Kroger. Wait until 5pm ish and after, they discount (usually 50%) on their bread selections. I love love love their garlic mini loaf. Usually free cookies too. But not all the time. Their wine selection is pretty awesome, there's an entire aisle dedicated for brews and vino. Check the "bottom shelf" stuff, you can snag a couple of good deals. I also like how they carry Terrapin brews. AND how they have the "you have saved _____$$$ today" at checkout. Might be some marketing scheme but hey! I'm all for it. read more

Awesome location when I literally have ZERO food and am starving to death. It's a quick drive to the grocery store and I'm set! Unlike typical Krogers, this one, unsurprisingly, is set up to cater to the college student... It seems that I always see gigantic aisles full of candy. Coming here on Monday nights is a terrrrrible idea, especially if you're in a rush. I swear everyone in Athens shops then and waiting to pay seriously takes forever. As Annie L. says, they do tell you how much you've saved, but the last time the cashier dude said that to me, he told me I saved a grand total of (OMG!) 10 cents. Really?? Curbside pickup here has been excellent here during COVID19. It's a small store, so occasionally there are a few items unavailable, but overall, it's great. If there's something I really need, I'll order from the Hull Road location. Epps Bridge, which was my most-frequented store before COVID is AWFUL and so frequently out of items. The one on the eastside is hit or miss: sometimes pretty good and sometimes a little slack. But the Alps store has become consistently reliable. read more

I called this store today to see if they had a product in stock before my daughter drove there. The customer service lady was so rude and said she could not look for it because of Covid-19. I asked if she could look it up on her computer. She said I would have to hold. I waited 16 minutes! When she picked back up she said only a manager could look that up. I asked politely if I could speak to a manager and a man picked up and said we have not had that item for months. Meanwhile my daughter had already arrived (since I was on the phone for a total of over 20 minutes) and she went in and sure enough they had plenty of them. Worst customer service ever! read more

I use to hate going to the grocery store and spending 30 min shopping for necessities. I would put off going as long as I could. Now I use Kroger ClickList and it has completely changed my outlook on grocery shopping! It's so easy and saves me so much time, giving me more time in my day for other things. I allows me to order my groceries online ahead of time, schedule a pick up time, pull up to one of the Kroger ClickList parking spots, and have my groceries waiting to be delivered to my car. This review is for the wine shop here. From out of town I needed to bring some things for dinner at a friends. I stopped by here for snacks thinking I'd go find an"proper" wine shop. But they have an awesome selection and Greg was right on with the suggestion he made. And it turns out that my hosts have been going to him for sometime now. My favorite Kroger location--the biggest store, I think, and fairly clean. Pretty good prices and decent selection.

Super nice customer service. This store has way more variety than our Villa Rica Ga location.

I'm updating my review of Kroger after learning that their stockholders refused to meet with the people who pick the vegetables about the Fair Food Program. At the moment Kroger is paying one penny per pound of tomatoes picked. That is too low! It is close to slavery. Even Walmart has signed on to help these workers. read more

While the selection is great and their beer/wine section is stocked the parking is a nightmare and the staff is 50/50, some being very friendly while others acting bothered by having a job. Its also college student misery during the school year, packs of students at a time wandering/texting/chatting blocking aisles. Not the stores fault but with the expansion they should have rethought parking and design. read more

First off, I had the worst grocery store experience of my life last time I was here. I literally waited in line for at least 15 minutes as one cashier worked the entire store. I was in disbelief as I looked around at the people with full shopping carts waiting behind while only one register was open. I blew that off as a one time thing. And then there was my experience there tonight. I was denied an alcohol purchase at 11:37 P.M. Why on earth would I not be able to purchase alcohol at 11:37 P.M. on a Tuesday? So I rented a RugDoctor from them, which cost $50 bucks for the rental, including the soap (which was mandatory for the machine). It claims to be a professional cleaner. Not only did it not clean, it simply smeared all the imbedded stuff I was trying to clean out and completely ruined my rugs. I went in to return it and try to get a refund (not on the soap, because I understand I opened a product, just the rental fee). That is a reasonable request considering that it ruined my stuff, its simply a rental (so no real loss for them financially) and they are never out of rug doctor machines (i've scoped it out several times, wondering whether I was ready to sink in the money). The manager refused over the phone to the lady assisting me, so I didn't even get to speak with him/her. So, basically I paid $50 dollars (the price of a grocery bill I would have happily spent at Kroger on Alps before) to ruin two rugs and three upholstery cushions ($$$). On top of that, they threaten to charge a cleaning fee if the water is not emptied, but there are literally no instructions on how to empty the water out of the bottom vessel, which is sealed off, so I did my best? I'd advise not to rent this product, or to take kroger up on any special services that they offer other than low price groceries. Unfortunately, I'm really disappointed with Rug Doctor and the manager on duty 9/22/17 - I felt like customer satisfaction was totally disregarded. read more

Self service check outs are always fairly quick even when it is crowded. They have a great natural foods section and bulk bins which I love, the only complaint is parking on the weekend is ridiculous! read more

Shopped at the newly remodeled Kroger on May 11 and was disgusted to find a live mouse in the bottom of one of the grocery bags when unloading. Let the company know and have heard nothing from them in response. read more
