Nice Publix but not my favorite location for one reason: it's always too busy for me. Even during weekdays. I'm spoiled by the Racetrack location, which always seems less congested. Other than that, this store offers more choices than some of the smaller, older stores in Tampa. I only shop here for rarer finds, and to visit the pharmacy for my booster shot. read more

I only get veggies and drinks at a discount from Publix. This past week, they had Publix Kombucha that was 2 for $5 and BOGO Health Ade. Also, got Organic Strawberries that were 2 for $5. Publix is probably my preferred grocery store... so many locations, and usually large selections of fresh produce and meats at decent prices. Great bakery, with a good selections of breads, cakes, muffins, desserts, etc. They have pretty much any food stuff you would need... and they have gotten more diverse over the years. I can get Paneer here (an Indian cheese) so no longer have to go to a specialty market for it. Lots of goodies in the International section of the store... stuff that I used to have to order. So very convenient. Excellent Ice cream section too... yes, I know, trust me! ;) read more

Okay, we all know that Publix is generally a little pricier than its competitors, but the store cleanliness, employee friendliness, the availability of products that you can't find at Target or Walmart (I love Boar's Head!) and let's not forget their absolutely fabulous bakery cakes keep me coming back on a fairly regular basis. Even amongst this unprecedented coronavirus pandemonium and the fact that it has to now close early, Publix is still trying its best. This morning I wandered the aisles in disbelief at the empty shelves. Then a kind shopper alerted me that an employee let her know the milk delivery truck had just arrived. If I hung around for five more minutes, I could probably buy milk. I decided to wait, and yep! The employees began putting all the milk in the bare refrigerators. Shoppers (me included) were crazy happy. read more

Where do I start. I've been in Westchase since 1998. This Publix used to be decent. Anytime they have BOGO, they run out the morning of. How is that possible? The same morning it's starts. At lunch, they have 2 people making sandwiches and 1 is handling online orders. Why can't they have another employee assist during the lunch rush instead of just having 1 employee. They are constantly out of produce. Cilantro, green onions, basil etc. so disappointing. read more

I heart Publix, but I wish they'd redo this one. Now that we've moved back into the heart of Westchase this Publix is literally a 2 min dive away from me. I kind of miss the Shoppes at Citrus Park location on Gunn & Sheldon because the service is much better, it's more spacious, has less hectic parking and they bake the pies and breads better. This Publix is always busy. I can't get away from the crowd even during work hours. When I used to come here 4 years ago when we lived in the same neighborhood i remember always being upset that strong men were always asked if they wanted help with their bags, but I would have a whole cart full of groceries and never get asked. It's because they know the guys will say no. It's still this way. I guess I'm just looking for the Publix service I'm used to. Westchase is a wonderful place to live, but it's hard to get great service (or food for that matter) here. read more

Dont go to this store if you dont want to be infected they are not following any guidelines. This location is poorly managed. Been there 3 times since COVID-19 started. Management puts up the signs and makes the announcements but apparently employees aren't getting the message. First visit bagger sneezes into arm. I tell him not touch our groceries I will bag them. As we are walking away I look back to see him put his gloved hand up to his face/nose. Completely unsafe. Notified manager on way out a dark haired lady who is regularly there in the evenings. Second visit employees stocking the shelves in groups (4 in this case) all within 3 feet of each other. Needed to go down that I'll they say go ahead. No thanks I will go aroun . Third visit they now have directional arrows. The same manager above and other employees ignore the one way aisles. Customers do a better job at this than employees. Employees still in groups all over store, front of store had 6 or 7 in customer service. With another 3 or four hanging out at the end of the counter where you have to exit. They are clueless here and have no respect for customers health. I have to many options for groceries. After 20 years of shopping here i will never go back. Ever. I recommend you do the same if your health is important to you. You have Costco Walmart Winn Dixie. Amazon Fresh and a Sprouts coming soon. We will only use amazon going forward through this if possible. Waiting for a delivery time is better than going to this poorly managed Publix. read more

This is my Publix...close to my house, VERY close to my work. I shop here a lot. I love a lot of things about this Publix. Good selection, friendly and awesome staff, great sandwiches. Every time I have had an issue (normally when ordering cakes...not sure why I have bad luck with cakes), they rectify it fast! The parking lot is not bad, and they finally put in some cart returns, thank goodness. The downside: It can be VERY crowded and some of the other customers are first-class d-bags. General politeness like "excuse me" is shocking to me when I hear it there. When I say "excuse me" to try to get by someone who is taking up the entire aisle (or even two chatty Kathy's having a reunion near the onion rolls), I have encountered eye rolls and heavy sighs as they lumber to move their uppity bum out of the way. Most times, they just move and give you a dirty look. Every great once in a while, they smile sheepishly and say "Sorry!" and move (like a normal human). Throw in some kids tearing through the produce section while mom texts away and a few wailing banshee toddlers you can hear clear across the store from the Ice cream aisle, and that is this Publix in a nutshell. I have great admiration for the staff, who encounter these people and manage to stay professional and pleasant. read more

Publix from a guy's perspective. This is my Publix. I've been coming here since it opened. Not because I like shopping at a supermarket, but because I'm the official chauffeur of my household and my wife makes me come. So what is a guy to do at this Publix if not shop for groceries? Ahhhh, this review is what I call Publix from a guy's perspective. First, they have a Lotto ticket scanner. Every week I check my tickets at the scanner without having to match them against the newspaper. Score 1 star. Second, they have an awesome deli. Publix subs with Boar's Head guts are yummylicious. Score 2 stars. Third, cheese sampling. If you go to the deli counter to buy cheese by the slice, you can sample several cheeses before you "decide". It will be several samples before they start looking at you funny. Score star #3. Fourth, cheap coffee. Sorry Starbucks, but for $1 you get pretty good coffee out of a cool machine, and they have all sorts of flavors. Coffee drinking while waiting for the wife is 4 star worthy, and goes particularly well with the free deli cheese samples. And, finally, this Publix has what has got to be the most awesome customer service of any supermarket. From the bakery to the deli to the pharmacy to the checkout and the customer service desk, everyone is friendly, courteous and helpful. My wife says Publix is more expensive than Super Target or Super Walmart, but I somehow end up being dragged in here twice, sometimes three times a week or more. Something to do with the strawberries lasting longer or the meat being fresher, or something like that. That makes it a perfect 5 stars. Me, as long as I keep feeding my gambling, cheese and caffeine habits, I'll keep coming back because this is as good as it gets! read more

Nice Publix where I can get most of my cooking needs. When I write cooking I mean ready made foods because let's be honest, I don't cook. This is your standard Publix, clean, well stocked, with friendly employees. There are two things that bring this Publix down and they're pretty minimal. 1. The wifi in here is terrible. I'm a millennial which means I use an app to determine my grocery lists (it connects to recipes on the off chance that I actually cook). Also, sometimes I have to google things like what's the difference between white vinegar and apple cider vinegar (ok, I legit google a ton of stuff in grocery stores because I don't think I have questions until I'm faced with the goods. Last time I stood in front of teas and googled almost every herbal tea asking if it is safe for pregnant people. Never do that, the internet will always answer no). I had to call my husband once so he could look up an answer for me. Just know that you will not be using your phone for help in this grocery store. It's as if you live 10-20 years ago (how did people survive?) 2. There is no dedicated organic section. I like when all my organic food is in one place. Here is it spread out with all the other food. Sure I get more steps, but it turns into a game of hide and go seek. Other than those two negatives (which aren't huge negatives) this is a great place to shop. Also, the fact that it is less than 2 miles from my house means I end up here more often than elsewhere (pretty much multiple times a week). But because of the lack of wifi I am not the duchess because I can't check in! It can get somewhat busy on the weekends, but they have enough lines open that you are never waiting for long. This is a nice, big clean Publix. It seems to be a bit off the beaten track, but obviously not. I don't live in this area, but this store is always busy. They keep it really clean & well stocked. It is a Publix that makes it easy to grab a few things, pay & be back on the road. Always a friendly, helpful staff. Shopping truly is a pleasure. What's a girl to do? Wish this location as the frozen Publix tenders like Lakewood a ranch though:-( Sushi is really good. This location really needs shopping cart hubs in the parking lot. My #1 pet peeve, the one that makes my skin boil.....People that do not take their shopping cart back into the store or into a hub. C'mon..really?! You probably could use the exercise! I'm furious. Picked up plenty of prescriptions for 10 years and this time they ask for ID which was in car--I said I only have debit card with me but I can give you all my info to verify my identity. The pharmacist refused. Made me walk all the way to car in pouring rain and in pain. When I returned--guess what! They had actually given my prescription away to another customer. Then I was so upset and shaking that I lost my ID and my debit card getting back into car and they seemed as if they could not care less. read more

This Publix always has great customer service, produce, and $5 Sushi Wednesdays! But they have recently added a new salad/lunch bar. And it is amazing! I had the best salad I've had in 2019 there today for $4.50; the salad bar is $7.99/lb. I sampled the sun dried tomato salad, mixed with a blue cheese cube and olive option. I threw in a little additional arugula, with a splash of all of the veggies and some marinated grilled chicken breast (haven't seen this chicken at the other Publix's salad bars yet, js) This Publix is quick, easy, friendly, and now delicious. I highly recommend it to all of my Yelp friends. Not all Publixs are created equal! read more

This Publix is within five minutes of where I live. It is my go-to for groceries. I am writing this review as now I've accumulated many visits to this location. Parking - plenty of parking. As this location tends to be busy at certain times with the restaurants in the plaza, you may have to park further away than you'd like, but at least it's parking! Employees - the employees here, from the cashiers to the bag attendants to the Deli employees and all in between, everyone has been extremely courteous and professional to me. I tend to frequent the sub station and no matter who is making my sub, it's always been a pleasant experience. This is a small neighborhood Publix grocery store sitting at the intersection of Linebaugh Avenue and Countryway Boulevard in the heart of Westchase. Publix is known for their world-class customer service, and the quality of the products on their shelves and in their display cases. This Publix, while smaller in size, certainly delivers on the quality and customer service. When I lived in Westchase this was my go-to grocery store, and I would regularly zip in, pick up a few items for dinner, and then zip through the check-out lines and head back to my car. I knew the layout of this store like the back of my hand and would always chuckle at those lost souls who would walk up and down each aisle in search of items on their grocery lists. Little did they know that they simply had to ask for help from a Publix associate who would then guide them around the store to find everything. I found that in this Publix it was easy to build a rapport with many of the cashiers, deli clerks, and butchers, and you could always be assured of someone remembering you and saying Hi. Seriously, when was the last time that a grocery store butcher asked if you enjoyed those grass-fed sirloins that you bought from him last week? Or the pharmacist asked if you were feeling better because she remembered filling a prescription for your bad cold two weeks ago? The deli clerks were great at giving out free samples as they sliced your cold cuts or cheeses, and the bakers would always give well-behaved kids a cookie. The weekends were especially fun because they had people handing out free samples of food and wine at the end cap of each aisle. I recall getting schnookered a few times on a Saturday afternoon grocery shopping trip! If you remember the TV commercial from several years ago, this was the Publix where I bought my "Pilgrim" salt & pepper shakers at Thanksgiving time. Of course my ex-wife got the "Pilgrim" turkey platter, but I still proudly display that salt & pepper set and chuckle about the animated characters in the Publix Thanksgiving TV commercials. I have a fond spot in my heart for this Publix, and even though I now shop at a different Publix a few miles away, this store always feels as if I'm coming home. read more

This Publix is one of the better locations on this side of town and that's mainly because of their employees. Their employees provide excellent customer service compared to most locations. Employees stocking the shelves, deli workers, cashiers and bag boys always smile and acknowledge you. It can get very congested in this store as it's in the middle of a very populated neighborhood, but they have the staff to cater to a large crowd. They always have enough employees in the deli and bakery and they always have a majority of their cash registers open along with bag boys at each register, which is very appreciated. Nobody likes going to cash out and having to wait because the store has only three open cashiers. Having bag boys at every cash register makes it go by quicker as it allows the cashier to ring you up and keep the line moving. My neighborhood Publix is hit or miss when it comes to having bag boys so knowing you're going to get one here is always a plus. The parking lot is average. When exiting, don't drive towards the front of the store as it will take you a while due to assholes parking in the fire lane and people constantly entering and exiting the store. I can only hope my neighborhood Publix gets to where this Publix is one day. read more

I can't believe I am writing a review for a grocery store...but the Publix in Westchase is absolutely the best "main stream" grocery store I have ever seen. Staff is always helpful. We just love shopping there and recently had friends move a few miles away who, even though they have grocery stores right by them(even another Publix) they make the drive and come to the Westchase store. Doing great! I might even right a letter to their main office to tell them how wonderful their mgr/asst mgrs and crew are doing. read more

Another one of my local grocery stores and I think that they are Pretty darn good. They have some of the best produce that you can find around and are normally really good about getting new items in if you request them. A really good bakery and pretty good meat and fish departments even out the store. Last but not least if you ask you can normally get a free cookie for your children. read more

This has been my Publix for several years now, and with good reason. The staff is comprised of some of the friendliest and warmest individuals i have ever encountered. Ironically enough, all the other reviews stating otherwise do so in a pretty condescending and entitled tone; makes you wonder why you don't get great service? Weird, huh? I hate grocery shopping, and while it does get busy, I have yet to have experienced an issue with wait times or anything of the like. Or maybe I just know how to be patient, but who knows. I give this Publix 2 stars, simply because of their location being obscenely convenient to where I live. But the parking lot blows. It's always crowded. Always. And they never seem to staff up appropriately so the lines at checkout are unnessecarily long. I do use their pharmacy but will soon change. Their pharmacy techs are just the most unfriendly group of people working in retail. Repeatedly I'm told a prescription will be ready at a set time, and like clockwork, it's never ready. Then when I complain, it's magically ready 2 minutes. I am not a rude customer. I respect people in retail up till the point I'm disrespected. They always have great quality fresh seafood. Everyone is really nice and helpful. It is a grocery store - I really do not have much to say but I read some negative reviews and had to at least say something. I have never had anyone be rude or mean to me. They have always been helpful and incredibly nice. There are times when the store is busier than others, guess what, it happens. I shop at "off times" and have never had to wait in a long line. This is the worstt publix ever. i just went to the deli to order a thigh and some macncheese. pretty simple, right? not for these assholes. I'm starving because i just got done running and my job is very physically demanded. this dumb bitch behind the counter didn't even have the styrofoam cups to put the macncheese. so she went to the back. i waited 5 minutes. she finally comes back and asks me what i want AGAIN. Mind you, there 10 people behind me at this point. then she goes to put the lid on the container and wouldn't you know it she didn't have that either. so she goes back again - of course, there 6 other people behind thr counter. then 5, 6, 7 minutes go by still no word from incompetence. so i went to pick out the COLD chicken and pasta. i saw a lady there cooking food with a microwave. i asked her if she could heat up my food. nope. so i left it on her counter and said you can put it back then. don't go to this publix unless you plan to waait all day for service. read more

This Publix has the worst employees! They are not even trained on their own policy. I've never gotten such attitude/bad service in my life as I got the other day from this one cashier woman. She even scanned one of my items twice! On purpose maybe? When I came back to complain I got my money back for the double-scanned item, it was only $2 but its the principle that counts... So since I was there I got a few more things, and just my luck I got another grumpy cashier with attitude! Ugh!
