Publix in the Shoppes at Citrus Park. This store is right around the corner from my office, so I'm here at least once a week. Huge parking lot out front, since it shares a strip mall with other stores. The store is clean, and pretty well stocked. Cashiers and Management are always friendly, and greet you if you are walking through the store. They've recently added self-checkout, so that is very convenient when you have only a few items to purchase. Just a heads up, their BOGO deals are popular, so if you go near the end of their BOGO special, you probably won't find what you're looking for. Today, for me, it was the coffee I wanted that they were out of. Pharmacy - 5 out of 5. They are efficient and quick. I've even could make appointments online to get vaccines through them, which was super convenient. Prescriptions are ready in a timely manner, especially now that I refill them online. Deli - 5 out of 5. Plenty of people making sandwiches at lunchtime, so the line moves quickly. Flower Shop - 4 out of 5. Nice, fresh assortment. Bakery - 5 out of 5. Love how they do so many seasonal items. Sushi - 2 out of 5. This is the only department in the store that needs a re-vamp. Publix makes a big deal out of $5 sushi Wednesday. Today the only "sushi" rolls available were made with fake krab meat. All of them. Pass. Other days, the actual amount of fish in a roll is miniscule - maybe one to two ounces at best. I've compared it to the amount that Whole Foods puts in their rolls, and honestly, Publix should be embarrassed. I get the impression there is no oversight on the sushi section at all, so they get away with putting in as little as possible. Publix - change this! All in all, a great store, and I will continue to be a happy, regular customer. read more

This is a review for the Deli catering department. We had a last-minute Halloween party and within 24 hours was able to order everything we needed directly from Publix app. It says need 24 hour notice, but I was able to pick up all the items within 12 hours, everything was affordable and delicious from the fruit plates, pepperoni wraps , barbecue, pork rolls, and Cuban sandwiches. All in all it was cheaper than going out to eat at a restaurant and was enough for 7-8 people . Simple foods made affordable which is what everyone needs in this economy. Will be ordering again this weekend for my son's birthday party. read more

I like it, somewhere to cool down at lunch while you munch ya Pub Sub. You really gotta see how big this one is, and Pappas authentic greek is on the other end. If you don't know Publix, you're missing out. And this is a really good Publix. While not the closest to my house, this is my favorite Publix near me. This Publix has a cooking school in the upstairs area, and when Rona is not here, they offer so many fun and interesting classes, with kind and friendly instructors. Also, because of the cooking school, this Publix has a bit more in the way of harder to find items. The store is very big, with a great selection. There is a wonderful bakery and deli, too. The parking lot is pretty good, I just wish they had more cart corrals. The pharmacy is also very good. read more

I Heart Publix. This location is the one I now frequent the most and I love it. I haven't tried the aprons cooking school upstairs because I'm a pretty good cook, but I'm thinking about having my kids take a class. Since I'm not a baker (because who has the time to measure) I might take a baking lesson...or maybe not. I wouldn't mind taking a French technique class or something outside of my cooking knowledge. It looks like a lot of fun. I don't get all my produce at Publix, but they do have a good selection of greenwise items to choose from that I get regularly. I also only buy greenwise milk and chicken from publix. I will sometimes buy regular steaks especially on the occasion that a flat iron cut is available. The ethnic isle isn't bad at this Publix. You're not going to find all the Hispanic brands at this one like you do in the Miami locations, but it's not bad. I do wish this Publix had a cafe area. I'd also like to see fresh coffee available here. As with all Publix, the in house brand is solid. The bakery is awesome. The deli is fantastic. read more

It's a Publix, that's pretty much all you need to know. Unlike many other grocery chains, Publix seems to have really good quality. I speak of quality in an engineering sense: their stores are consistent. There isn't really a "super high end" Publix, nor is there a "ghetto Publix", they are all above average, bright, and clean. They are all just "Publix". They have scales where you can see how fat you're getting. They have the most overrated (still great though!) subs in all the world. I wish we had Publix in Anchorage, they would put all the other grocers quickly out of business. read more

This is THE best Publix in the area. Huge store with a huge selection, and super-fresh everything!!! The Gunn Highway Publix is located in NW Hillsborough County across the street from Sickles High School, and in the area that we jokingly refer to as Sheldon Road "extended", since Gunn Highway kinda bends all around in this part of town. This Publix is one of their flagship stores with an amazing selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, meats carved to order, fresh seafood, a giant deli, a big Greenwise section with organic foods, more canned goods than I have ever seen in one place, a fully-loaded pharmacy with drive-up window service, and just a huge amount of groceries inside one building. They have an event planning department where you can order deli trays all the way up to fancy buffet foods. The bakery cranks out the usual mix of incredibly fresh rolls and bread, and some of the most amazing cakes, cookies, and pies that you've ever seen. There is a fabulous cooking school upstairs where I've taken several classes to sharpen my skills and not feel like such a klutz in the kitchen. The cooking school offers both do-it-yourself "hands-on" lessons, as well as cooking demonstrations served with plenty of wine. Both are very fun, and they make for a nice evening's entertainment. This Public also offers online ordering of your groceries which they will cheerfully deliver out to your car. The employees at this Publix are super-friendly people who obviously take a lot of pride in their jobs. They will help you take the groceries out to your car - even in the pouring rain, and they're always out in the parking lot helping to corral those lost shopping carts. They're always smiling and asking if they can help you find something. One thing which really impresses me about this Publix is the gigantic generator which they installed behind the store following the 2004 / 2005 hurricane season. This clearly shows me that Publix is committed to their customers and their communities, and that they plan to be open no matter what. Way to go Publix!!! I've never had a bad experience at this Publix, and it is obvious that others feel the same, as this store usually has a lot of traffic at all times of the day. read more

Their healthy crunchy people food selection is off the chain here! Lots of different prepared foods, veggies and fruits that make it convenient to stay healthy. I'm all about convenience. I'm not always all about health. I just finished off a pack of maple cookies while writing this. I feel like the employees pick who they're pleasant to while checking you out. Yes, I'm sure I looked like a drenched rat today after work since I got caught in the rain, but I can assure you Ms. Thang, I am just as fancy as the lady in last years Louboutin's that you checked out ahead of me. I promise. Anyhow, there's a cooking school here. That's pretty rad. If I ever want to dabble in cooking, I know where I'll go. This Publix is conveniently located less than 5 miles from my house and I love to shop there on a weekday morning when there's not many people. This location has a decent selection of organic fruits, veggies, frozen, and packed products as well as gluten free options. This has plenty to offer even the pickiest of food shoppers like me! Also, the staff is friendly and helpful like the other locations I have been to. There's always plenty of parking and I can run in and out in 15 minutes with a handful of groceries. Whenever I need a cake for a special event, this Publix bakery on Gunn Hwy is where I head. The cake designers really work hard to bring your vision to life. The cake is moist and the icing packs just the right amount of sweetness. I like that you meet with a Publix event planner who assists with size of cake, flavor, etc. If needing more than just a cake, the planner can also help you select fruit, sandwich and other platters to feed your guests. This Publix is a flagship store with a cooking school, online ordering with delivery to your car, Apron's Cooking School, etc. It's got it all. If you are short on time or don't want to drag all of your kids to the store, place your big order online and they'll have it ready and deliver it to your car for only $8! You can save that by buying a few BOGOs. It's totally worth it, especially if you are an impulse shopper. How can you stop buying those chips and cookies? Order online! The store is very clean with excellent customer service. My only comment is that the sandwich makers are hit or miss. Some are good and some are not. Another tip about the deli is to place your order and shop while they slice it, then pick it up when you're ready. Great store. read more

I have to share my experience with this publix. I ordered my wedding cake and 80+ cannolis in February. Everything was great. I have always visited this publix and they've made me fresh piped cannolis on my arrival without any issues. Recently, this publix has decided it is sufficient to sell cannolis that have been sitting for days, that are soggy and gross and refuse to make freshly piped cannolis. I asked today for cannolis without chocolate chips on them, which was all that was out. The tall man in the blue shirt, first - ignored me, then told me "no we don't have any." I asked if it was possible to make fresh ones, his response was "you can order them and pick some up tomorrow" and walked away. I cannot get over how rude and the amount of disrespect shown, and to think this acceptable. What a disgrace. read more

Very Clean and Flowing store. Prices of deli meats for Boarshead is little bit higher for that brand than most other places usually i find Boardsheads meats for $3.00 less per pound. Sometimes $2.00 less. But to drive around and spend the gas to find them is not worth my time and money. Much rather shop in one place. The customer service is great. After all it is in a nice area, so there are no trashy people here. Places like Westchase and Carrollwood are meant to be that way, prices and cost of living is higher to keep "those" type of people outta here. They can go to Walmart. I was always sick of seeing disrespectful people...until I came to this Publix. Customer Service is excellent. Chicken deals are best out of all the Fried Chicken places you can find around towns. Although it's not the closest publix to my house, I have stopped in when I'm near this side of town. I was happily surprised to see a much improved organic selection of fruits and veggies here. They have loose organic Swiss chard, kale and many other options which I use frequently for my daily smoothies. One of the largest publix around town, if not the largest. I've always shopped at Publix as long as I can remember. My shopping experience has always been great. Today though was beyond expectations. I needed soup and a grilled cheese sandwich for my sister and I because we're sick. The soup was almost gone and without hesitation the gentleman behind the counter quickly refilled the lobster bisque for me. And even though it's not on the menu the two behind the sub station made me a grilled cheese sandwich. No questions asked. It was fast and easy. Update: after being to this store several times, I have either purchased expired food (nacho cheese in ethnic section) food that is about to expire (eggs), and food that is still within date but smelled toxic when opening (packaged cappocola). I appreciate when businesses focus on their customer service. Publix, specially Publix Super Markets takes to a next level. All the employees, I mean all from managers to the guys that help me caring my bags to the car, know how to make you feel welcome! These are a couple of examples that happened to me: When asking for as specific product: The person not only stopped immediately what he was doing it to help me, he walked with me to the isle to confirm the product was there. When he saw it wasn't he ask another person and told me to wait a second, he came back with the product on his hand and still took me to see where they were (something organic, that's why I couldn't find easily). He was as happy as I was for finding it, not even WholeFoods had it when I needed. The cashier experience: I stopped by during lunch time, just needed some batteries for my mouse. When paying the cashier assistant asked me if she could help me with my bag, I thought that was amazing :) The cooking school on the second floor ( I am dying to take the classes): I went one weekend and the whole place smelled amazing. On the next week, I saw one chef with cooking the recipes (Another great plus of this location) and he actually explained to me what they were coking and gave me tips on how to make it. All the items for the recipe were right next to the show kitchen, it couldn't be easier. I love to cook but only just for two people and the meat and vegetable trades sometimes are too much for me. Well, they will reduce the size to how many I needed and repack. No more over buying again! Ok, the prices not always as compatible as Walmart, specially cleaning products. But they do offer the Bogo thing (buying one and getting second one for free) so it is worth it to stop by and check what is the Bogo deal. read more

I just signed up for their curbside service. What they did not say was that it would take 5 days to prepare the order. There goes my weekend shopping. So I selected delivery to get my groceries in 2 days and was hit with almost $50 in extra charges. They sucker you in with what appears to be a great service and then hit you with conditions that cost a ;lot more money. They don't make these conditions known up front, so they are not considerate to their customers. Piblix has gone way down hill. read more

I love Publix. Lots of times people only complain , we don't write the. Good reviews because were satisfied and happy and we just keep going there. However I want to take time to say that I had bought a pastry in the bakery that I did not enjoy. They call it a European tart and it's 11.66 or something. It is a new item. It is not good. So I had a small piece ate it and realized I hated it and took it back and I felt kind of funny about taking it back since I ate some of it. Anyway they happily refunded my money gave me a gift card and I felt very satisfied and happy as usual. Let me first start off by saying MY FAMILY LOVES THIS PUBLIX, the past few times I've bought their 8 piece box of fried chicken and the chicken has been PINK on the inside. My wife spoke to the manager about it before and they rectified the situation by giving us a new box for free, today I bought a box and I went to make my daughter's plate something told me to break the chicken apart to look at it and sure enough I looked inside and it was PINK AGAIN. I took the box back and I discreetly told the manager what happened he was apologetic and gave me a gift card which was nice of him. It says on the publix website, but this publix ignores that, and then doesn't help you in getting a new tray in a timely manner. I Love Publix...This is a big beautiful store..The Deli Dept has a big problem. Every time I have been there I must wait 15 to 20 minutes at the Deli meat counter to get waited on. Today a Saturday, the weekend before Thanksgiving at 12:15...ONE girl is doing her best to wait on 5 people waiting. 3 people are doing sub sandwiches. NO one else any where. Many times you go there and 4 people will there but only 2 waiting on in store customers. The others they tell customers are fulfilling online or call in orders. So you still wait 15 to 20 minutes unless you call in your deli meat and cheese order...NOT Good! I have NOT had this problem at other Publix. read more
