Sold me ground beef that expired 6 days ago. Unfortunately realized this after cooking and tasting it. When I returned it the "customer service staff" barely said a word to me when I explained the problem and just proceeded to issue me a refund and whispered " Sorry about that." When I added that someone should check the rest of the meat in the meat department because it was very frustrating and now I don't have dinner. There was zero response. Just " would you like your receipt for the other items?" Expired food can make someone very sick. You should take that a little bit more seriously. read more

This is a Nice Publixs. I like that it is convenient and on my way home. They generally have everything that I need. This location is clean and I like that the wait in line is never more than a few minutes. The Staff here are polite and always willing to help. The only thing I can say that needs work is the Signage. I find it somewhat confusing and hard to find certain items. read more

This Publix has shown me amazing customer service 2 days back to back. Yesterday I went in and the floral department person had gone home. I asked the produce guy what to do, he went out of his way to take down my information and make sure they called me back. And they did! The florist was super sweet and helpful and tried her best to solve my problem. I had also like to shoutout the bakery! I spoke to Venus about a wedding cake, she stopped what she was doing, and helped me find a solution to my problem. 10/10 customer service! read more

Very convenient location and layout. This was the place I shopped most often for groceries and always get my prescriptions here. The pharmacy staff and service is the best. They anticipate what I will be coming back to refill monthly and keep it in stock. As opposed to Walgreens across the street where the pharmacist would tell me each month that they didn't have my prescription. I would ask- well, as a pharmacy can't you order it and have it in 3 days. That's standard- I would get a yes response like it was the first time he heard it and hadn't heard it from me every month before. Glad I switched to Publix pharmacy. Terrific selection of most everything. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is bcz I went to Walmart super center the other night and bought a lot of groceries. My total bill was literally a third of what it would have been at Publix. About $116 instead of over $300 for the same brands and better produce (no mold on raspberries or strawberries). The only pharmacy I will go to though. read more

Encounter happened on September 4, 2020 at 8pm. We purchased a balloon for my 2 year old daughter and while I was paying for my groceries and the ballon, the ballon somehow ended up at the top of the ceiling. I mean you all know how high the ceilings are. I didn't notice it but the cashier saw my daughter looking up at the balloon. Instead of going to get her another one, she knew that my daughter wanted that balloon. She called the manager and a clerk over to get it. The clerk tried to use a long pole with tape on the end to pull the balloon down, but the air in the ceiling was sucking it back up. So, the manager hoped up on the cash register desk with a pulley and pulled the balloon down. They put a new weight on the string. My daughter was happy! This is going beyond the job to make the customer happy. I love Publix Supermarket in Lakewood Ranch. It's always clean and the staff are always helpful and friendly! read more

Obviously publix subs are great. But the people who make them aren't. Called ahead of time to have 2 subs made and upon arrival the subs aren't made. Nor did the person who took the order even put the order in. So when I arrive I make a total ass of myself and was treated pretty rudely by the older lady at the sun counter. The worst place around for lunch. The hot table is always out of one or two items. Stopped in today at 12:00 noon. No chicken tenders!!! Lunchtime!!! Said they just started some; be about 15 minutes. Did I say it was lunchtime? You're not going to have a main item till 12:15? Waited a little bit. 4 people walked up and asked for chicken tenders and walked away. I left too! I love going to this Publix. They have fresh produce, fish, meat and freshly made sushi. I also tried their soups and they are wonderful. There is a nice deli and a nice selection of Boars Head meats. More than anything else, I enjoy walking in there because of the staff! They are super friendly and have the best attitude! One day we were shopping with our two little ones and they started getting really cranky and the baby started whaling. A staff member walked in with two balloons. The deli counter always offer my kids cheese and the bakery a free cookie. This keeps them happy and occupied while we do our weekly groceries. We love shopping here. Keep it up Publix!!! read more

I was at the Lakewood Ranch Center today 10/30/2019 at 3:35 pm, and was politely standing in line behind one customer at the Deli who was getting a sandwich. I was waiting my turn, as is custom at Deli counters to be serviced. And older couple walked up to the Deli case with the prepared foods, and after I had been waiting for 5 or 6 minutes or so, a second Deli worker came to serve this older couple BEFORE ME! I couldn't believe how incredibly rude this was of the couple to not say I was there first, and the worker to not even ASK me what I needed PRIOR to the other couple. The second worker SAW me, but ignored me. She SAW me before the couple came up to cut me. The old couple was white, and I am a black woman. I don't want to say it's racially motivated, or age motivated, but I think it is implicit bias that is related to this, and it needs to be said even though I don't want to have to point this out, or experience this. I have to say I was quite upset by being skipped over. I spoke up about it but she carried on helping the couple. When the first deli worker was done with the sandwich, she did begin to take my order, BUT she used pork tongs to handle chicken tenders, but I stopped her cross contamination. This upset me even more. I don't eat pork! I really think the Deli workers need some training. Implicit bias is a real thing, and they need to be more self aware and fair in their customer service. Older white couples should not be served before other people waiting in line for the same service. I also wanted to add, I think I got some food poisoning two weeks ago from the self serve Chili, and this was the first time I have been back. I'm very upset, and highly suspect of the cross contamination practices which seem to need some retraining, and might be the source of people getting sick, and especially point out the issue the customer service which DID NOT MAKE SHOPPING A PLEASURE. I had a terrible experience. I alerted management of how unacceptable what happened to me today was. NOT good at all. I also see this store has had numerous dirty dining problems in the past from a health inspection perspective. Cross contamination and poorly focused, ill trained workers may be a real problem here. read more

Went here for flowers because the florist had said she could make me a small affordable bouquet for my very casual wedding. The florist had told us she was off on Wednesday so to come in on Thursday. We went in on a Thursday and she was actually off work that day. The manager (or someone who looked sort of "important") came over to talk to us after we had asked a different worker if the florist was around. He was very callous and basically dismissive saying she isn't here today and just staring at us as if we had done something wrong. Wow this place struggles. From the mistakes ALWAYS in the sandwich station, to the SLOW deli to even grocery packers completely disrespecting your items by throwing the m around... it just always misses the mark. Most recent is we ordered online subs just to find out after we got home that they were completely wrong, I mean wrong where specific things were added that my guests specifically cant eat and we specifically listed them excluded on the order. However, the worst was yet to come when we called to tell them and the response was aweful...we just threw our hands in the air and took the loss and ordered something from uber eats.. publix sooooo let us down! Funny thing these are all primarily customer service issues and they claim customer service is what sets them apart...its just false advertising. With all the other options just down the road (fresh market, whole foods, earth fare, detweilers) its easy to avoid these problems by simply not stopping or ordering from this location. read more
