We have recently started getting Publix subs, lots of food, good price, and you can pick up some groceries at the same time. With so many Publix around, If the opportunity presents itself I can go a little further and try a different Publix for the first time. That was the case this time. My visit to this Publix got off to a slow start with only one sandwich maker helping customers while another was building a line of subs for what I assume was for online or delivery orders. The deli manager jumped in to help me, so now there were three people and still that line of subs, all working on the counter. Kind of fun to watch, but probably not the most efficient setup. The manager got my two subs built, doing almost as well as people that build subs every day all day long. With a friendly goodbye, I headed to the grocery checkout area to pay for my food. The custom Italian Sub looked a little beat up and soggy by the time I got it unwrapped, and it was very good and filling. read more

I have enjoyed the convenience of shopping this Publix so close to home for years. We have been well treated by their employees, but have started to notice a trend. I sense their focus is deteriorating, and frankly, their food product selections, particularly those they advertise as their "Specials", are in short supply at this location. But yesterday's experience took it down to a lower level. My wife had purchased ground sirloin Thursday night for hamburgers on the Pool deck Saturday night. I began by setting up the BBQ, and was looking forward to our relaxing meal, but when I opened the package, I discovered they had taken ground meat that had "browned" in the display case and "repurposed" it by wrapping inside some freshly ground meat. Great Publix for vacationers. It had an extensive line of ready-to-eat items from soups to sandwiches to subs to chicken. It was crowded in the sub area and hard to keep "social distancing" (especially with inconsiderate or unthinking teens). do not trust this pharmacy i find it insulting and wrong in ever way that a doctor sends in prescription for a certain medication and without contacting patient or doctor publix decides to change medication under different name to a company they do business with or make more profit off of lets be honest to a different name i have been taking the same meds for 30 years why would i want to change to a new drug. i asked the women behind counter if it was meds i was prescribe she said yes i went out to parking lot to see they pulled the old switch on me again second time i returned it will never shop ther again pharmacy people speak with fork tongue terrible people skills and serious intigrity issue good bye will let loved ones know to be careful with publix and all pharmacies and one more thing that stores service is going down hill also over the last few years especially the pharmacy read more

The people who work at the pharmacy are fine, but the company's nonsensical approach to business drives me insane. They close for lunch, they're closed on almost every single holiday that you can think of and it makes it extremely difficult for people to get medications that they need. I've been all over the country and for whatever reason this place seems to be stuck in 1953. It's beautiful here and the people are nice but this nonsense with the hours of operation and the lunch breaks (Why do all eight people working in the pharmacy have to troop off for lunch at the same time?) are terribly inconvenient. All that it's going to take is one pharmacy to stay open every day except for Christmas and not take these ridiculous lunch breaks , and places like this are going to either have to adapt or go out of business. Their Board of Directors think that they are too big to fail. how many CEOs have thought the exact same thing, i.e. Bear Stearns, Fanny May, Sears ect. read more

The store is clean and has a wide selection of items. The problems begin with their sales. Buy one get one free is not to be trusted. The signs do not clearly reflect the actual sale. Sometimes the bogo free has to be the same item and sometimes just the same brand. Their signs do not reflect this. Upon looking at the receipt once home, I realized I paid full price for both items! This has happened on more than one occasion at more than one location. Apparently the sales are not programmed correctly into the registers. read more

I love the Publix chain but this store on 75th street needs help in the deli department! It is understaffed and the area that sells chicken is a mess!! Their small area is hardly ever staffed and hardly ever has product to sell. The hot display is usually devoid of food, there is rarely any fried chicken, especially white meat and in the many times I have visited they don't seem to have the foresight to "plan ahead." I look forward to my visits to the store but not to this area I dare management to fix the problem! read more

Despite my over all experience at Publix stores being very pleasant and extremely customer service oriented,this particular store seems to fall consistently short of Publix standards. Long lines seem to form much more frequently than other stores, and they seem to have a knack of deception by placing sale prices on or near items that are not on sale. Unless you are scrupulous you may not notice. When you go back and read the (mice type) at the bottom of the sign with a magnifying glass you may discover some obscure technicality, such as not the flavor,size range or even brand that was stocked on the shelf. Even when you prove them guilty you're lucky to receive an apology, but more likely to blame an outside vendor or inexperienced employee. read more

I have been a LOYAL customer of this Publix for the last 25 years. Every Friday, I leave work go in to the store and shop for my family. I have especially enjoyed the meat department. They have exceptional, pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful personnel. Unfortunately, when I went there yesterday to buy meat for visiting family, I was horribly disappointed with the new arrangement that corporate Publix has instituted. Gone is the full service meat counter. Gone is the personal service. Gone is my ability to CHOOSE between many different cuts of meat. Instead, there is now a refrigerated case containing pre-made meals. When I complained to the store manager, he informed me that this is a corporate decision. He went on to tell me that the majority of their customers WANTED this change. To appease me, he said that they still could cut meat custom for me...although there would be a long wait. His explanation was hogwash! There is no possible way that the majority of Publix meat customers WANTED to do away with the full serve counter! If there are many customers who desire pre-made meals...FINE....put the damned case somewhere else in the store. I do NOT want to have to wait for a short-staffed meat department to "custom cut" a piece of meat that I can't SEE in the first place and rely on the butcher's judgment as to what I prefer. I do not want to waste my time taking a pack of steaks to the counter and have them break the package when I just want ONE tenderloin. I want the CHOICE of porterhouses in the case...being able to compare them with others. I WANT the wonderful banter with the butchers...the ones who KNOW me and can anticipate EXACTLY what I want. I have put up with their high prices for years...BECAUSE I love the way their meat department has been arranged. What has set PUBLIX apart from other supermarkets has been their down-home customer service. Their founder, George Jenkins, would NOT be pleased with this disturbing trend. They have LOST a customer at this Publix store. I left, empty handed...disgusted and went down the road to "The Chop Shop". I was willing to pay MORE for the meat there, due to them having a full-service butcher counter. There is another PUBLIX nearer my home (Lockwood Commons..East Bradenton.) so far, they still have a full service butcher counter. They HAVE informed me, however that they will be changing also. When that happens....I will stop shopping at Publix altogether. I have no use for a store that has such little regard for the personal touch. I'm sorry that they've gone this route. I just stopped at Publix to pick up a Beef Brisket. My jaw fell to the floor. The one they had was $54. This is not exactly a prime cut of meat. I could see that sticker price on a whole tenderloin. I stood there dumbfounded. I was planning this for dinner. So "regroup and figure something else out". So I decided a corned beef brisket instead. Picked on of those up and it was $30. Was I beamed off the planet for a bit and dropped back down and suddenly found myself in a new reality of meat prices? I shop regularly. But not at Publix. Now I know why. I stopped in the night before Easter to buy some cupcakes and they were all out. Two employees were standing there and saw my disappointment. As I walked off, Brad (the bakery manager, maybe?) called out and said "we could make some for you!". I'm like, won't that take awhile? But he said the cupcakes were already made, just give them a few minutes to ice them. So I continued my shopping and when I finished, the dozen cupcakes with buttercream icing were waiting for me! I love their subs there are a hundred times better than Subway can you get a lot more for your money. The bread is always fresh and they have a lot more that you can put on the subs. Poor customer service from Zach (serving since 2011). I went in at about 4:20 PM Saturday 2/6/16 to pick up money via Western Union. What should have been a very straight forward transaction lasted in a 15-20 minute wait as Zach made an excuse that he did not know how to work the computer. He then went on to serve 5 other customers while my kids and I stood there. It appeared to us that he was reluctant to serve us in a timely way and made up an excuse about the computer. His attitude and tone were also condescending. I hope the manager reads and investigates these reviews. read more

My favorite parts of the store are the bakery and the deli. The bakery makes the most delicious treats you could ever imagine. They have everything from cookies to brownies to pies to cakes! Everything is made on a daily basis so you don't ever have to worry about it being fresh. All the desserts made in the bakery go well with their Publix ice cream, which is also a favorite item of mine at Publix. My other favorite part of the store is the deli. I love the deli because they serve Boar's Head meat. The bread they use for the subs are always so fresh and delicious! Publix subs are great if you're heading to the beach or if you're on the run. I enjoy coming to this store because it's always so clean and organized. The staff is always so helpful and I can always find someone to ask questions. Some of the prices are little high but at the end of the day...totally worth it. read more

mini vaca down to Florida from some seriously harsh winter weather in Pittsburgh and my nose was so dry that it was peeling from the cold. i ran into publix and asked the pharmacist what i should do RE: nose. he said to use neosporin. done! and a couple days later my nose was all better. nice pharmacist here. as for the groceries- don't know...look good though! read more
