I liked this Publix! It was geared towards tourists. It had a whole little section of things you could buy from Anna Maria, which I thought was nice. It was a well laid out store. Everyone was very nice who worked there. I had a couple questions because the layout is completely different than the ones by me, and the employees were more than happy to help me out. I truly give the staff props here. They're the nicest humans ever, for literally dealing with chaos at all hours. This is way too small of a grocery store for how much this island has expanded. You can go to this grocery store at 7:45 in the morning and the parking lot is completely full. Not to mention that you can't even fit your carts down the same lane for two-way traffic. I visited this store recently and had a very good shopping experience. The store is conveniently located on the island right on the intersection of two main island roads, nicely decorated outside (the parking lot, grass, decorative shrubbery, etc.), felt welcomed by Publix staff as I entered the store, had a nice, full display of suntan lotion, etc., appropriate for this sunny Florida beach location), interacted with a Publix employee asking where a certain product was in their store and he was very helpful, patient & friendly, the store was clean, well-lit, and nicely organized, prices of the items I purchased there were generally reasonable and the food was delicious and fresh, and there were a variety of self-serve & full serve aisles. read more

This is the worst location, way too small trying to get what you need is a nightmare...trying to get down the isles is almost impossible when you have crowds of tourist that overfilling the store...that's not even the worst part, if your doing Instacart and you have to leave the stuff there for the customer to pick up well good luck with trying to find room on their shelf's, I'll just leave the photos for explaining. read more

My wife and I were on vacation on Anna Maria Island a few days before a hurricane came though. Luckily it missed us, but we still had to evacuate the island. We always go to this Publix on the island to pick up some beer and the service is always fantastic. There is even a deli there that always has a huge line. I haven't tried it, but people are always there. We got some soda and some chips and some other essentials. We have even got animal crackers and stuff and beach rafts there as well. Our favorite grocery store on the island and it is about a mile and a half walk from our resort. read more

Make sure to sign up for rewards, download their app and clip coupons to get your best bang for your buck. Large lot parking. Very friendly staff. Located in a strip mall setting. Very friendly, very well stocked for the amount of business they do everyday. Food is always fresh and ready. Cashiers are not overwhelmed with all the groceries they scanned and still smile! My family of 14 did over $800 and the cashier still managed to smile and thank us for our business! We love this Publix! And won't shop anywhere else on vacation! Prices marked higher than any other Publix super Market just because it's on Annia Maria Island. I suggest ordering from Walmart and have them deliver your groceries it's free delivery over $35. And lot cheaper read more

This is the only grocery store on the island and they do a fabulous job of keeping it stocked really well! Prices are obviously inflated due to location, so we occasionally have to go across the bridge and go into Bradenton or into Cortez areas to get cheaper groceries. But we are glad they are there. This is a one stop shop for all our vacation needs, from toilet paper to fresh fruit and wine/beer. My husband even had a surprise birthday cake made for me with short notice in the bakery and it was fresh and delicious! We will continue to go here often! read more

Super Convenient to AMI. Smaller then a normal Publix but they keep it well stocked and organized. Staff are very helpful and efficient.

The staff is so happy and excited to help in anyway possible. It was stocked with all the food and more that we needed for our trip. It was a bit hard to navigate but it was a popular hopping place anytime of the day! read more

After going to the Publix on Longboat Key and being so pleasantly surprised, I had high expectations for this location that simply weren't met. As the only grocery on the island, you'll probably end up going here anyway, but I found its selection to be lacking, some of the produce seemed on its way "out", and the store itself seemed relatively cramped. It's not "bad", but if you're traveling to the island for a short stay, it's probably worthwhile to visit another location on the mainland en route. It'll get you by with everything else you'll need after you get here, though! read more

While staying in Anna Maria Island, this is the neighborhood Publix. It had everything we needed, and the staff was very kind. My biggest hurdle with Publix I always experience is the online ordering, and it being ready at the designated chosen time. Our sandwiches were ready on time. Praise God! We ordered sandwiches as we were heading on the road to go north to some natural springs and that was the most convenient thing for us to get. They taste very good too once we got to eating them. Charlie was our cashier the first day, and he was quite memorable. Great and funny guy. The experience was very pleasant. While we were there, the bottled water ran out due to the holiday I imagine and also due to Hurricane Irma coming. Other than that, great service! read more

They work very hard to keep a safe covid-19 environment and ask people to wear masks and provide mass as well. I've been in there several times and never seen anyone without a mask so maybe that rebellion has passed. I also have noticed them wiping down the cards in between uses. They also work hard by having screens up at the cash register to protect the staff. People forget that the masks being worn are as much for the protection of the staff as themselves. The staff is very helpful and willing to walk you directly to an item you're looking for which is really good customer service. I bought one of their roasted chickens and it was great and I've been nibbling on it for lunch for several days. Their deli also has good quality meats and cheeses. You can look for other bakery items like pastries and they have a nice selection their bread is also good and they do a thin slicing which is really nice if you want it. They have a good produce section with both organic and regular produce and you should be able to get most anything that you want. They have every other item that you would need from cleaning supplies to spices to canned goods to whatever a normal grocery store would have. They have a good Frozen food section with some higher-end stuff and some regular stuff for sale. I can't say enough about the kindness of the staff their attention to customer service the cleanliness of the store in their commitment to safety with the covid-19 protocols. read more

Appreciate the mask mandate on AMI. Please remember that this is an island Publix with vacationers, so it's not a massive grocery store. It is a small space with narrower aisles. Saturday afternoons are extra busy and additional social distancing enforcement would be nice to see. The store has everything you need for an island stay. The employees were helpful and nice, even during a busy, stressful time and a global health pandemic. Be mindful of the crowds and a few rogue individuals ignoring COVID-19 rules, but this grocery will have everything you need. read more

This location is very convenient for the AMI vacationer. In addition to the normal grocery selection, it offers a selection of ready-made meals, beer/wine, lottery, deli, bakery, and beach-y items (ie. towels, beach chairs, pool inflatables, sunscreen, umbrellas, etc.). It's great for picking up a picnic lunch for the beach (sandwiches, pizza, sushi & fountain drinks) or for easy dinners (rotisserie chicken, slow cooker meals). I find it to have sizeable variety and selection of fresh/frozen/pantry products even though its a smaller store than other Publix. Yes, you could probably find things cheaper on the mainland, but for the convenience of not having to go across the bridges (or being able to go grocery shopping in your golf cart!) it's totally worth the small price increase. Avoid the crowds by shopping in the early morning or evening and NEVER on "flip" day (generally Saturday afternoons). I have always found their staff to be very pleasant and accommodating. The bag boys/girls always ask if you want carry out. The staff in the aisles are quick to help you find items. And the customer service is excellent! We had forgotten one of our bags and after discovering the items missing at home we went back to the store the next day. We couldn't find our receipt and yet still after explaining the problem, the customer service gave us the missing items. This is a neighbourhood gem. read more

I love this Publix and it's employees. They have everything you need and the deli and bakery are 5 star. However, every time I go to shop there is someone in the store not wearing a mask. Yesterday, a younger man who I feel certain was a construction worker was in the store with no mask. There have been numerous Covid outbreaks in construction crews. A friend having a home remodeled was just informed that three of the crew working at her house had tested positive and they must now all be tested. The man in question stood checking out in front of an older employee less than three feet away. This behavior must be stopped by Publix. It is only a matter of time before Publix is dealing with an outbreak or other customers become infected. I urge the management of Publix to enforce masks being worn at the door. They must not be allowed to enter the store. Give everyone the option. No mask you do not come in the store. It has worked for Costco. It is now acceptable practice. It's customers and employees now feel safe and their business is thriving. Publix please support the mask mandate on our island and keep everyone safe and keep the island open. Massive Covid outbreaks will harm this island. We love your employees and want to keep them safe as well. read more

5 stars for the cleanliness, selection, organization, and friendly staff. All staff were wearing masks which I appreciate given the current re-explosion of COVID in the state of Florida. Customers on the other hand, not so much. Can't fault the store for that. They are just going with what the state mandates. Its always fun to go and visit a local grocery store and see first hand look at how things are done and what it takes to keep up on Saturday compared to any other grocery store you go to around the world.. If your visiting this store on a Weekend say Saturday and your renting a condo for the week you here is a few advice 1. Never Expect to do your grocery shopping on the first Day You arrive. Always Eat out such as dinner and breakfast the next morning. 2. Know what your going to buy I know some people like Blue bell ice cream. 3. Know what kind of access you have as far as cooking items, u name it. Only cook what you have access to. don't go out of your way of buying extra items such as a grill,etc 4. When you check out depends on where your flight is make sure your return flight home is in the afternoon or evening so you have enough time to check out and get your self to the airport. 5. I'm from one of the most expensive cities in American, and was blown back by some of the prices. I understand mark up for vacation spots, but when I've heard about publix, its that they've always had competitive prices and fresh produce. The prices weren't anything to gush over, my bag of oranges was good ( we are in Florida). Besides that I dont get the hype. The employees are friendly which is always positive. The meat was average, so great selection or exceptional sales. Very average for a chain supermarket. read more

This place has a vast variety selection of food. They even had Pirates booty rice puffs which I can't find at my local supermarket in Brooklyn. I wish this Publix was near me. If you're vacationing in the area and are looking to make some meals for yourself, you've come to the right place. This grocery store has it all and then some, it's like a Mary Poppins bag of food. The staff are super friendly too and will help you find whatever you need. It has all your classic grocery items (including booze) but then it also has a lot of cool (mostly store branded) sides. Like 4 different kinds of guacamole or a handful of different salsas or multiple types of potato salad. It was fun shopping here, you'll find stuff you like, and the prices are good. read more

Disappointing vegetable department. No quality tomatoes @ all. We live in Honolulu and prices matched ours where all food is brought in by boat! Huh? Makes little sense. Fresh fish choices were good and priced fairly. Go for the organically rich Fresh Market instead - just down the street. read more

I love going to Publix. The stores are clean and employees are very nice. There is one employee that I always can't wait to see. Bob works over in the Deli and he is the nicest guy. Folks, this place is soooo over priced it really isn't at all funny. We got a pound package of boars head bacon It was 8.99. We later found it at the Detwiler market for 5.99, same identical product. Backwards!!!!!!! No but it was prob my first time being somewhat lost in a Publix. I'm serious everything was kind of out of place it seemed. It was more like a neighborhood Walmart In a way with the set up. We eventually found everything that we wanted and checked out without a problem though. Best Publix and grocery store i've ever been to! My friends and I were visiting for the week and went many times. Everyone was super nice and helpful every single time. I broke one of the starbucks coffees in line and one guy came over immediately to clean and make sure I didn't step on any glass and gave me another one! Love that place!! read more
