Haven't been to this Trader Joe's in forever and it was actually the first TJ's on this side of Florida. Now that I've been to a bunch more TJ's I must say they have a lot of space in this location. Usually the aisles are pretty cramped but this one is super nice and spacious. Parking lot is ok, not bad at all. The worse one to this date is still Tampa. Since Sarasota has a new Trader Joe's in UTC, I often go there, but this one is still a good one. UTC parking lot is the biggest being in a strip mall, but I think I think I like this one better. read more

The most non sensory overload Trader Joe's to ever exist. Came here on a Sunday during a holiday weekend and that would've normally been the biggest red flag EVER to step into my local TJs. Welp, DEFINITELY not for this location. The layout is perfectly not overwhelming, it doesn't fully force you to go into the store in some kind of zig zaggy way while bumping into people and getting kicked off as you're trying to walk through the aisles or with the staff anxiously unpacking boxes and restocking product. What I love the most about TJs in FL is of course the easy access and low cost wine selection. So we of course loaded up with some delicious wine and Prosecco. Loved this store so much, the staff is so so kind and friendly. Wish every Trader Joe's experience was as easy as this one was! read more

I have a hard time with this one.... Love my TJs - from NOLA to Siesta Key to Asheville. And this location has some amazing people, like my cashier today was so personable and friendly. But in the same breath there were several employees that were so intent on restocking that they glared at customers for the crime of attempting to pick out their groceries. Or myself, who stood beside someone named Chris who absolutely refused to move and was almost irritated that I was making several selections from the same area, and not fast enough, that he clearly wanted to unload a box into. Since he refused to move I ended up walking away without several items. Like how are you angry at people for grocery shopping when you work at a grocery? Anyways... I love TJ's items, always will, I guess the misery at this location will be something we just have to withstand when we're home on Siesta Key. read more

Anyone that knows me well knows I love Trader Joe's. I was visiting a friend in North Port and the closest location was Sarrasota. I was already planning to go to Sarasota to watch the Ravens game with a Ravens fan group. The store was 10 minutes away, so I decided to stop by after the game. I purchased my usual yogurt, bananas and pimento cheese. My friend and her neighbor put in orders too lol. So I picked up some frozen waffles and naan crackers. I also bought myself some of the crackers which I loved with the pimento cheese. Check out was pretty fast and as usual customer service was awesome! My biggest complaint was the location. It was hard to get in and out of this parking lot. If I go back again it will be on a week night about an hour before they close. read more

This is by far the biggest Trader Joe's I have ever seen! We stopped in here on a recent trip to Siesta Key for the essentials - snacks, wine, and all the assorted charcuterie fixings of your dreams. The layout of this store is super spacious, and I definitely discovered a lot of things that I never have seen at my local Trader Joe's. I also found the staff to be super friendly, as I was looking for those elusive hash browns and they made sure to check for me and offer suggestions when they didn't have. There is a good amount of parking and it is on a main road as you head down to the main part of Siesta Key Beach. Would totally stop here on your way to fuel up for beachside eats at home. read more

This store is the bees knees. I cannot get enough. Not only is it well stocked with a variety of standard and specialty goods, I really enjoy their live plant and flower selections as well. The staff here is incredible and could not be nicer. This store is located right on Tamiami Trail/IS-41 so if you blink you might miss it. Parking can be a bit tight as their parking lot is somewhat small but there are parking spots off side road and in back. Thank you, TJ's for always delivering. read more

I love to enter the flower garden that is my Trader Joe's. Can't resist something to brighten my home as I enter. I also love the small salads, frozen specialty meals and fantastic cheese selection. I am a loyal Trader Joe's customer in California. We probably spend $400+ per month there. It's most of our food shopping budget. Quality items, well chosen, good prices. Visiting FL we came to this Sarasota Trader Joe's for groceries we could count on. VERY DISAPPOINTED. When we got home, the egg wraps we bought had mold spots and the cut vegetable mirepoix celery was browned at edges and mushy as were the onions. I would have returned these items but the store was so far from where we are staying. read more

Allow extra time to shop.....it's so busy. This is a relatively new store in the Sarasota area. As such, the locals have been starved for a Trader Joe's, and now they come from 50 miles away to shop here...thus it's frantic and frenzied, especially on the weekends. read more

This location feels open with good space between the aisles. I appreciate that they limit guests during Covid, and it appears that they are stricter with capacity than other locations in the eSouth. Parking lot is a small. It is near Siesta Key so it can be trafficky. read more

Having lived in San Diego for 25 years and having a Trader Joe's a block and a half from the house I'm probably a bit spoiled. This Trader Joe's is decent. There is definitely a difference in some of the products from the West Coast. The nice thing about Trader Joe's is the friendliness and helpfulness of its employees overall. I wish this was a little closer, and I wish they would build one closer to Bradenton. read more

In town to visits family we stopped in because our TJ's is impossible to get to. Parked on the street and walked over. The store is large and not overly crowded. The aisles are wide and easy to navigate. It is set up as is any TJ's. Samples at the front and also toward the back near the wine/beer. Clean and well organized. Always a nice selection of different foods you cannot get at other stores. Check out was easy and friendly. I can't think of anything they could do to make it a better store. read more

The plumcots were so good that I went back 1/2 hour drive, one way). The flat peaches were good too and so were the organic strawberries and figs. Their organic chickpeas were the same price as regular chickpeas at Aldi's and 79 cents compared to $1.79 at Detwiler's! read more

If I could give TJs zero stars i would. The store is gimmicky, little selection, and pricey. I bought 2 steaks, when I got them home I cut the plastic and a foul smell filled my kitchen... Today I picked up some chocolate cupcakes to bring for Thanksgiving. Already tried one and it is absolutely delicious. It's been so long since I went in a Trader Joe's, and LET ME TELL YOU, this was the most pleasant grocery shopping experience I have ever EVER had in my entire life! I couldn't be more happier with the employees, the store, and the products! As soon as we got to the door we were greeted by a few employees wiping down and sanitizing carts (greatly appreciated!) As soon as I got inside, I headed straight for the Halloween succulents, as that's what I mainly made the trip for! This year, they were in sugar skull vases. I picked one up along with another larger succulent. We also browsed groceries, and everything I bought (food wise) I felt so good about buying, because I didn't have to worry about if it was REAL food... Do you know what I mean? And everything in the store is reasonably priced for "healthy" food. I'd like to give a shout-out to the alcohol section as well... It is large. It's the largest section of the store, I believe. When we went to check out, the cashier was so nice! She offered our toddler some Halloween stickers, and he loved them. You can just tell when you shop here that the employees are happy with their jobs, and I love it! We will definitely be back! read more

Aside from the angry Snowbirds in the parking lot, acting crazy and most of all--- trying to run me over. I love Trader Joe's almost as much as their other store called Aldi. While Aldi is super cheap and right near my house (the Bradenton location), I often drive to Trader Joe's to mob their salad selection. Yep, I drive all the way out to South Sarasota and risk my life for $1.99 bags of lettuce in various forms. Also, their ethnic frozen meals are a hit with my family--- offered in foods from almost every country, including South Korean inspired Bibimbap rice bowls. I don't feel guilty, because the food is cheap and mostly healthy. My only annoyance is that 1/3 of the entire store is a booze section, catering to the old grouchy winos of Sarasota. I wish that they could just use the space for something more healthy and let the drunks go to ABC liquor store instead. If you bring your own grocery bags, sometimes they give you a free gift at the register. Today we scored a massive tin of chocolate cookies. read more

Sunday mornings around 9:30 or 10am this Trader Joe's is a ghost town. Today I went ( another Sunday ) and the place was packed at 11:30am. Get here early! Trader Joe's has healthy food like Whole Foods but much cheaper prices. The produce is great, fresh, and cheap. You will find a lot of organic products at Trader Joe's vs not many at Publix. I've never experienced Trader Joe's so I do not have another location to compare it to, but I can honestly say it was worth the drive from Tampa. Yes, it was quite packed but nothing you couldn't maneuver through. I came prepared with a list (thanks Caroline C) of items I was in search of purchasing. It will take me awhile to get through them all, but before leaving the store, we did sample the triple ginger snaps (A++) and the cinnamon Abc cookies (B+). Once home, I thought that I had more room in my freezer, but I did not so I was "forced" to taste test some items in order to make room for freezing. I must say, the homemade tortillas are great, and so is the cranberry walnut chicken salad. My only gripe us that I didn't feel as though the customer service was as great as everyone raves about. I didn't experience the "culture" exuding from its employees. Another complaint I had was I was hoping since Trader Joe's is new to a lot of people in the area, I thought it would have been nice and helpful to have employees wandering the aisles to help first time customers with their purchases. It's a lot to take in and thus extra personalized service would have been nice. Will I be back? For sure! Now build one in Tampa ASAP.
