I am obsessed with Aldi. They are owned by Trader Joe's (Germany), so expect the same type of labyrinth shopping that you would like at TJ or Ikea. The prices are often half of what you would pay at a regular grocery store. Also, Aldi carries many interesting European themed foods that you cannot find anywhere else. They do not accept credit cards: debit cards or cash only You can find some name brand items at Aldi. However, most of the items are private brand. I find that the private brand items are very high quality, as even sometimes better than the American name brands.... uh oh! You will need a quarter to get a shopping cart, and you will be bagging your own groceries in your own bags. Conveniently, they just added a bagging counter after checkout. That is just one of the ways that they cut costs. The produce is not filled with pesticides, so it goes bad very quickly. You will want to just buy what you can eat that week. The prices on produce are extremely low; pinapples, grape tomatoes, flats of squash/zuchinni, bags of apples, potatoes--- all for under $1.50. I bring fruit salads to all potlucks now, because Aldi makes it affordable. There are some items that you cannot or should not get at Aldi, that I prefer to get at Publix: 1. non-frozen meat - I don't get it from Aldi because it is filled with water. However, I buy frozen and prepared meats from Aldi, when needed. 2. lunch meat - while Aldi's cheeses are great, the lunchmeat is bland and overly salty. 3. Yogurt- because Aldi is lacking in selection. 4. Salad Dressing- limited selection Conveniently, this location of Aldi is in a Publix parking lot! read more

If your want to eat HEALTHY/VEGAN/VEGETARIAN this is the spot for you! I don't have Aldi in Denver where I live but when I come home to Bradenton to see my family this is my fave spot. You get amazing prices on delicious organic items like salsa and cereals. Not to mention the vegi and fruit deals are awesome. I wish I had this near me but so happy I get to shop here on occasion. read more

I really like just about everything about this place. The first time I went, I saw how low the prices were and all the odd-name labels and only bought a few things. I kept getting braver and trying more and more and...voila! now I pretty much only buy groceries here. For the first time EVER, I even use a different mayonnaise than my old Hellmans--something I thought could never happen. Either they use the same food and put their own labels on it, or they somehow have come up with better stuff, but, bottom line: I'm completely happy with 99% of their products. Honestly, I believe many are better than the name brands. And the prices? Ridiculous!! They save me a ton. Oh, and I have to mention the amazingly fast check-out skills of the cashiers. Thank you for not wasting my time chatting with your co-workers and commenting to me on every other thing I'm buying (a personal pet peeve). My hatred of grocery shopping has lessened considerably. read more

This place is horrible. 1st you have to rent a shopping cart for .25 cents and you have to pay for bags or use free boxes. The staff is not friendly or helpful. The store layout has no rhyme or reason, just a bunch of crap thrown in. The produce looked old, and I wouldn't trust buying any "fresh" meat. Mostly unknown knockoff brands that fail in comparison. I'll stay with Publix and never revisit. Why anyone shops here is beyond me? read more

Love this Aldi location. They have what I need. Just wish it were bigger. It's always crowded, but otherwise nice location.

Good prices, some pitfalls. Aldi's doesn't refrigerate all its produce. You take a chance that your packaged veggies or fruit will be moldy, it happens way too often. Their frozen blueberries have very thick skins and are unpleasant to eat. Their frozen fish is from China, even the salmon and cod, I won't buy that, been there with Walmart, and learned Chinese fish is inedible. Most of Aldi's processed products are very high in sodium. Some good deals, yogurts, soups, cheeses, pork loins, ribs, milk, eggs, you have to look; some nice surprises. read more

My grandmother uses this store all the time. Whenever she is a problem the staff is always helpful and courteous. She had an issue with the ground beef she had purchased and they instantly refunded her her money, no questions asked. I would extremely recommend this store and extend a warm thank you to the store manager! read more

Bring your own shopping bags (or pay for them at the store). I don't shop at Aldi often, mostly because I find them so hit or miss. Sometimes they have a lot of really great things available, and sometimes it is all off-brand stuff that reminds me of the Dollar Store. Today I am going because blueberries are advertised at only 99 cents a pint, a full $2 cheaper than any other grocery store in the area. I have also scored with their bags of tangerines, very juicy, fresh and tasty. I am starting a juicing program so I will probably shop there more often. They seem to do well with fresh produce although sometimes it is limited. It has always been fresher and cheaper than many other stores. They are worth a look. read more

We love Aldi! Yes u have to bring a quarter so u can get a shopping cart, however it helps keeps cost down so they don't have to pay for an employee to track down the carts beacuse someone is to lazy to put it back! Prices are amazing, the "knock off brands" are Aldi brands many of which have no artificial sweeteners, colors or preservatives. Love them! read more

I frequent the Aldi stores in the Washington, DC area and find the selection and quality quite good. The Aldi store on Cortez is poor;y stocked, many items are missing, and the display of goods defeats logic. read more

Love, love Aldi's, my neighbor told me about them before they opened their store across from Walmart in Palmetto. This location is so convenient to me, as yet to visit their other location on Cortez. Their prices are great compared to Publix for the same product and fresher. I am so happy to know they have stores in the UK, so I can recommend them to my family and friends there. I too check all food labels to see the country of origin. I bought 2 Frozen Turkey Breasts around Thanksgiving for $8.99, they were about 3lbs. each and were very tender, the same thing in Publix was $17 each, and did not look too good. I found the staff at this Aldi's to be very helpful and courteous. I am now a loyal customer. read more

Love Aldi! Great prices on organic produces and groceries. Nice wine selection. They do have organic eggs, milk or cheese. Always fresh. Love the checkout, love that these cashiers are sitting, they do take care of their employees. No cart all over the parking lot to scratch your car. read more

Love this store. Shop here for 90 % of groceries . Brands may not be familiar to first timers but the quality is excellent and the prices are great. Why would anyone prefer to pay twice as much at Publics ? Aldi may be a smaller store but I can be in and out in half the time. They do have excellent fresh salmon and frozen Gulf Shrimp now. ( neither one from Asia ) . If you can't find it just ask. As for paying a quarter for a shopping cart, you get the quarter back when you return it to the rack. And most people bring their own bags. Give it a chance. May take a few trips there to familiarize yourself. read more

They have some products not available in other grocery stories, like Clancy's Vegetable Chips, which are far cheaper and taste better than other potato chips you buy at other grocery stores. They do not give rain checks, so make sure you don't wait until the end of the weekly sale period to purchase those items. They had a great buy on bagged spinach for $.89, but were out of it. That is less than 1/2 price of what you would pay at other grocery stores, but if isn't on the shelf, you're out of luck. read more
