The store is clean and organized but Katie(older, cashier, short gray hair) just berating customers for the smallest things. We were in line with about 6 other people and every customer she had something negative and snappy to say. From not putting the credit card in right into the reader, asking the price on something, an older guy bought a pack of smokes(he was clearly 60+) and snapping at him for not having his ID out. Understanding its the holiday season and everyone is stressed and working alot of hours but at the end of the day- you are in customer service. If you're having that terrible of a day- call out and stay home. Everyone is going through something so there's just no excuse for being that hostile towards customers. Again-the store is great and clean. Hopefully management can address that team member because we watched her upset every person in that line. read more

This place we stopped at to get a brace for my hubby's ribs. Unfortunately it didn't work so returned to my local Walgreens once we returned home. Location gets an extra star for carrying my hubby's favorite beer Michelob Light! This made hubby happy. This location is unique as it carried regional items so if you are on holiday and forgot anything this place has it including souvenirs! Definitely would come back and the check out is quick and painless. Just key in your phone number for additional discounts. Cool who doesn't want that! Better than their competitor who make you carry your discount card or have it on their app. read more

This place needs help more than ANY other Walgreens I have ever been to. 99% of the time checking out is a 20-25 minute waiting game. Normally, I would say, "it is what it is." But today, I learned its a leadership problem. Here is the story: I arrived to see an armored car in the parking lot. I walked in, grabbed some sun tan lotion, and stood in line behind four other customers. It was a few minutes since I walked in and the line hadn't moved. Another customer joined the line behind me. The line had not moved. The armored guard exited the store, and what I assume is the shift leader, came to help check people out. We are approximately at a ten minute mark. One person gets to pay and leave. The shift leader then leaves the counter and another customer walks away. "YES", I think to myself. Progress! A few minutes later, I believe, I identified the problem. The checkout person is having a hard time reading the touchscreen, and this is really starting to bore and frustrate. (About 15 minutes in) Down the aisle I see another employee stocking. I speak loudly and ask, "Manager to the front please." It must have been the volume that startled the "manager" because I was the only male in the store (minus the person stocking) and she walks up in an agitated state, speaks to the check out person asking "Who yelled that?" The checkout person points to me, the shift leader looks to me and says, "What!?!" I answer, "Yeah, can we get some help checking people out? I have been in line for fifteen minutes." "I am checking someone out over here! (Pointing to the beauty counter no one could possibly see) Didnt you see me leave!?! We are having computer problems!" "Yes, I saw you leave. Is there ANYONE else who can help?" (rather sarcastically). "No!" "How about the guy down the aisle stocking?" "Hes deaf!" "Hes deaf... so he cant check people out?" "No!" Oh for heavens sake! Fine! I will wait here!" I then, finally, arrive for my turn at checkout. Where I read the name tag, Johanna. "Hello Johanna, how are you this morning?" "Fine. How are you?" "I am okay. Just these two bottles of sun tan lotion and three pack of American Spirit Gold please. And, what was her name (referring to the shift leader)?" "Hope." "Got it. Thank you." "Ya know...(rather curtly), we were having computer problems, and you yelling like that didn't help." "You are right. But, how was I to know? All I can see is you, up here alone, abandoned by your shift leader. And, the rest of us frustrated and bored." The conversation continued, I paid for my items and left. After the interaction I thought, it would have been much easier if, when Hope left the counter had said, "Thanks for your patience everyone! We are having computer trouble with a particular item. So, I am going to take this customer over here so Johanna can continue to help move you all along. Have a great morning!" Communication and Customer Service are EVERYTHING. It would have completely deescalated the situation. Hopefully, (no pun intended) corporate takes the opportunity to do some customer service and communications training, meanwhile allocating some extra resources for personnel at this store. read more

The store is clean, well organized but the bests the staff that works there. Whether I'm driving through the RX window, picking up pictures ordered on line or simply buying something in the store, the staff is always upbeat, polite and super helpful. read more

For 5 years now my husband and I have preferred this Walgreens because of the exceptional pharmacy help. They have been on the ball about everything with us. Whenever you see them, they are hard at work doing everything they can to fulfill people's prescriptions, we never see them goofing around, so we think they are tops! Thank you to all the hardworking folks at Holmes Beach Walgreens and Joe the manager is a good example. read more

Duane (Manager) was less than helpful. I needed special assistance with ordering product only available online to be delivered to my vacation rental. I had been advised my walgreens online customer service that I needed to complete the transaction in store. The first cashier I approached did not know how to help, so called the manager, Duane, out to help. I explained to him what I needed and he said he didn't know how to do that and then loudly told all of the cashiers to leave him alone for 20-25 minutes. He then retreated to his office. Luckily Kathy stepped up. She figured out how to order what I needed quickly and helped me with the payment that wasn't working online. She could easily have turned me away like the rest of them, but instead went out of her way to help. Great customer service from Kathy!! The store is on the smaller side, but I preferred it to the CVS that is just a few stores away. They have beach necessities, some food, decent selection of pharmacy essentials, drive-thru pharmacy and a printing centre. read more

Called Walgreens pharmacy at 4:20 on Saturday and asked for them to transfer a prescription from Denver to their location for me to pick it up, said they close at 5 but they'll have it ready for me. Great! I left right after that and got stuck in traffic, arrived at 5:02 to see they already closed, but I caught the attention of one of the pharmacists and asked if I could just pick up my prescription because it's free through my student insurance so literally all they had to do was give it to me. The dude kept telling me that he put his cash drawer away and can't help me, but they're open tomorrow on Sunday and I can pick it up then. Uh ok whatever fine. Get here at 2:15 on Sunday to find they close at 2! No hours posted for the pharmacy that I could find online, just overall a bad experience at this location. read more

Once again I don't understand these people and their bad reviews. Yelp removed a bunch of good reviews which is just so disappointing. The pharmacist is great and if you thought all Walgreens had the same personality to them you are wrong! This is my island pharmacy and I love it and deeply regret it when I go somewhere else read more

The staff in this store is great however due to issues beyond their control the waits at the pharmacy and drive thru are way too long. They are obviously understaffed. They will let 5 cars wait in line while filling a prescription for the car at the window that can take 15 minutes. Going in the store is no better there can be long lines there with only one employee servicing the customers. Hence, despite the fact that this store is 5 mins from me I will drive 20 minutes to the Bradenton 24 hr location which is way more efficient, yes I'm always going by it anyway. Hire some more employees Walgreens. I'm pretty sure you're losing business to CVS because of this. read more

Prescriptions called in by a doctor go into some kind of central processing. That processing can take absolutely forever to get to the local pharmacy. Sometimes longer than a half a day. Aggravating. Drive up is efficient. Parking is easy. read more
