ORLANDO, FL -- I visited Publix Supermarket for the first time in August 2023 on a trip to Orlando, Florida. This is a big grocery store so be prepared to walk from one aisle to the next. My three friends and I came to get some snacks and a little food to store at a friend's house that I stayed at over the weekend. I can't remember what we all bought since I'm writing this review almost one year later but they were regular/staple grocery items. Maybe we bought eggs, juice, and chips. We didn't have time to stop and look around slowly but I'm sure Publix sells some unique items. Customer service at the checkout line was attentive and friendly. Super convenient location close to the 417 interchange. Customer service and general shopping experience is consistent with the Publix brand. Prices are not competitive but proteins and produce are always top notch. There is a Starbucks nextdoor and the store is bordered by multiple fuel choices. read more

This deli is terribly run. Every single time I have ordered a sub they don't start making it until the pick up time. Today I ordered four sandwiches, and had a scheduled pick up time an hour after the order was placed. They didn't even start making them until I stood there and waited. Absolutely ridiculous that it takes an hour to start making four sandwiches. What's the point in scheduling a pick up time if you never honor it? I paid ahead to eliminate the wait. Then had to wait...and wait while a young, inexperienced staff proceeded to explain everything she could think of on every aspect of one man's prescription. Ultimately he walked away without it. When it was my turn, I had to show my ID to get my order, even though I'd never been asked for it before. When I asked her for an explanation, she lectured me about the medication (which I've taken for decades) like she was there to patrol and control everything. Seriously? While everyone was held up by her arrogance, the pharmacist kept her nose hidden in the computer--not offering to reduce the line. I've not had this experience at this Publix but assuredly it will be the last time I pick up meds on a Saturday! My favorite Ice cream is Häagen-Dazs pralines and cream Not the Bourbon Praline Pecan Spirits. Ive tried Baskin-Robbins, Breyers, and Blue Bell Ice Cream but nothing hits the same. If you have the Publix App, add your birthday to your Club Publix account. I was sent a coupon for a FREE container of Publix or GreenWise ice cream or frozen yogurt, or a two‑count of Publix Bakery jumbo cupcakes. I grabbed the Irish Crème Salted Caramel. I was NOT DISAPPOINTED. This ice cream hit all the stops. The caramel truffles reminded me of the MCD Rolo McFlurry but so much better. Publix has forged a solid reputation for giving the customer exceptional service, by giving the customer a positive experience from when they park their car in their driveway to when they pull out of the parking lot, trunk happily loaded by a Publix employee who offers to wheel out your cart and load your groceries for you. While I always decline, I can see where it would truly help certain people like elderly customers. Publix also weekly offers buy one, get one free offers, allowing you to stock up and save. I also have to note that the subs at Publix are pretty stellar. A great option for lunch. The above reasons are why I often find myself through the doors of Publix. And while I do not take advantage of assisting me in loading my car, I am always smiling as I pull out of the driveway and head towards home. read more

This is my Publix. It's in the midst of a long rehab, so I'd feel wrong to give it more than 3 stars. After the rehab, I'll update and tell you how it went. This Publix has been through some serious ups and downs over the last 6-7 years. It was an old Albertsons that was converted, rather poorly, to a Publix. This rehab is long overdue. When the store matches the employees... this will easily be a 5-star Publix. I know about half of the staff by name and they are awesome enough to even recognize me when I happen to see them outside of Publix! The key to this location is the staff. Excellent staff. This location has had some great folks over the years. I love that they do such a great job. Special shout-out to the Meat Department and the Pharmacy. I also love that I see so many internal promotions/job opportunities. I know it's odd... but it's kinda heart-warming (for a crusty dude that doesn't do feelings) to watch someone go from bagger, to register, to pharmacy tech or something in management. I root for them. On the other hand, the overall management has gone from STUNNING (I'm looking at you, Sue!) to blah to ultra-hyper to pretty good to blah to good enough. It's been a bumpy ride. You can see it in the mood of the store. The biggest room for improvement at this store, beyond the rehab, is the Produce section. Too much fruit past its prime and subpar prepackaged items. I've had quite a few problems here with that. SURE Publix policy is "bring it back and we'll replace it for free!" but that doesn't help me when I'm in the middle of making a meal or when we're sitting in our jammies looking to snack on some fresh fruit we bought *earlier that evening* and it's already spoiling. I can't tell you how many times I've bought packaged berries here and the top/bottom are good, but everything in the middle is flat rotten. It's bad enough that I almost always drive the extra 15 minutes to go to Lucky's for fruit now. read more

I truly dislike Publix bakery. Hosted a birthday celebration and I order a cake on last Thursday for pick up Saturday. Running around for the party I had a family member pick up the cake. We pull the cake out at the end of the party to sang happy birthday only to see the cake have the name spelled WRONG. had to serve the cake due to it being a party that what kids come to the party for. So then I called Publix to let them know of there mistaken only to be hung up on and then the assistant manger tell me" y'all should have checked the cake" I thought it was y'all check the paper where you took the order. This is my neighborhood Publix and this store is consistently clean and overall a pleasure to shop here. The employees are always super friendly and helpful and understand their roles in developing brand loyalty. The only drawback at this location is they don't have many higher end products you would find at other locations closer to town, especially with regard to cheese and produce. read more

This Publix is subpar. It is a smaller Publix and that hinders the availability of items, especially the deli. Try to shop earlier morning or evening. As lunch time and after work this Publix gets busy. This is also because the larger Publix down the street closed causing more shoppers to use this one. Few things to know are, once again limited deli items. I mean this Publix doesn't carry a lot nearly as much as other Publix (baked wings, salad bar, soup selection, etc.). The subs are hit or miss. Either the bread is soft or hard, never consistent. Plus all the veggies are not fresh. They are stored in bags and tasteless, it's best to get your sub before lunch rush or it's going to be bland. The Wednesday sushi deal is horrible. They only offer a couple choice of rolls and don't work fast enough to restock inventory. Don't look or ask for brown rice either, they don't care and because they are an "outside" company they won't listen to Publix management. The store could benefit from making self check out lines or section. Often only one or 2 cashiers are open and only open more if lines grow long. Plus, the cashiers are instructed not to bag certain items unless you ask. This is a inconvenience when you don't have a cart a home. I enjoy Publix and hope this one improves. Walmart, Aldi's, Bj's all have their benefits and equally as close. read more

This is my regular Publix, it used to be an Albertson's so the layout is a little different from other stores, but once you're used to it it's fine. Produce here is good, while you always need to check your produce, I don't find nearly as many problems here as I do at the Rio Pinar Publix. That's the main reason I choose to shop at this store. The deli counter is very good. I once had to pick up a massive order for a friend and they were amazing. My friend had pre-paid for everything and sent me with the receipts to pick up, but the paperwork at the deli didn't match up right. Rather than hold me up and drag things out they let me take everything without having to pay anything. My friend later returned to the store and straightened everything out. That is amazing service. Not many stores would trust their customers that way. The organic foods section in this store is organized differently than others. Rather than have a "Greenwise" isle they have the healthier foods in a row that runs along the back wall. Other organic products are mixed in with the regular products. It can be a bit confusing at first, but I'm used to it. And you can always ask for help from the employees. They're pretty nice here. read more

What can I say? It's a Publix. Great deli, friendly staff, Redbox. I've never had any complaints about this store. Try the bottom round roast beef. It's some of the best deli roast beef that I've had from any grocery store chain. The liquor store is nice and spacious. This is on par with other Publix that I've been to, although this seems to be on the larger side as it took over an old Albertson's space. The produce department is large, although you have to hit it close to delivery time or the veggies seem a little limp. The meat and fish department are fresh and no funky odors detected in the store. Update: This publix has got better. It has become a bit more busy because they closed a nearby store and that has caused a issue with parking and product availability. The staff and management have become more sociable which has boosted the rating. A few suggestions that should be considered would be, first: Expand deli (both hot & cold) with more ready to eat options. Second, on Wednesday haves the sushi specials offer all options as if it were any other day. The no brown rice and choice between only 2 rolls isn't really a deal. Third, incorporate a few self checkout lanes. So many lanes and limited staff makes waiting longer and with social distancing, it's hard to walk around at times. Looking to add a couple more stars. Over-Priced & Deceptive Advertising I live very close to this Publix, so I shop here often (-at least I used to). When competitor grocery stores (Aldi, Walmart, Target, Fancy Fruit, and Lucky's) opened up I was very disappointed to see just how over-priced my local Publix is for the same exact items. I spoke with my Publix assistant store manager about some huge price discrepancies and asked if Publix does price comparisons of nearby competitors to make sure their prices are competitive, and he answered "no, we won't". He went on to say that the Publix corporate office (100's miles away) makes all the pricing decisions. Further-more, I found it insulting when the assistant manager explained that their on-sale and BOGO (buy-one-get-one-free) items are lower in price than their competitors' regular priced items. Duh! I hope so! He kept repeating this scripted disingenuous argument until I left. If you want to pay for super-expensive groceries, and be lied to about competitor pricing, then shop here. But if you want to save 10%-40% on your grocery shopping, start looking elsewhere, because that's what I'm doing. read more

I ordered a special order cake from the bakery. There was an incident with the frosting on the cake between the time we picked it up and about an hour before the party. I called up and asked if I could bring the cake back in to make corrections. Not only did the bakery fix it but they redid the whole cake within the hour for me. Would definitely go again. read more

I shop here for all of my groceries (unless I find myself over on Alafaya). I went in today and was completely awestruck by the staff. They're always friendly and helpful, don't get me wrong, but today, their customer service was phenomenal! First, I stopped at the deli and was quickly acknowledged by Claudia. She was all smiles the entire time and worked quickly. I then made my way over to the bakery. A nice gentleman named Dennis helped me. I wanted that 12 grain bread (soooo good!) and he said they would have to get one going in the oven and it would take about 25 minutes. He said they had frozen loaves and I decided that was fine. He gave me perfect instructions (which I just took the bread out of the oven as I'm typing this). My house smells like awesome now. Then I went over to the seafood department. The man that helped me was Adam. I had an inquiry about ordering fish that they did not carry in stock and he was very knowledgeable on the process. He took my information down, along with my order, and we set my pick up day for Sunday (wow, only 3 days away). I picked a few other things that they had on hand and some steak. He was very pleasant, had a very genuine smile and thanked me. I made my way down the cold aisle where all the other meats are and wanted to give some praise to Derrick. He was diligently cleaning but was aware enough of my presence to inquire if I needed help. Normally, any store you go to really, if employees are tasking, they avoid you like the plague. I eventually found myself down the cereal aisle and I knew they had sweetened condensed milk down there somewhere but I walked right past it. I asked Deangelo where it was and he took me right too it and asked if he could help me find anything else. Down the chip aisle, there was another employee, Lane, who was restocking shelves. He saw me making my way down the aisle and quickly moved the cart and asked if I needed him to move it out of the way further / if he was blocking anything I wanted. I was all finished and headed for the check out line. The lines weren't long at all. I didn't even finish getting my items on the belt before the cashier was already beginning. My cashier today was Brooke D and the young man bagging was Andres. Brooke was polite and inquired about my shopping experience. She had a great smile and worked pretty quickly. Andres was careful with bagging my items appropriately, wrapped all of my glass items in paper, and neatly piled everything in my cart. He offered his assistance out to my car but I didn't really need help. This is hands down THE BEST Publix I have ever been to! I plan on reaching out to the manager (Scott) and hope his staff is well praised on their flawless customer service. read more

The best publix around!! Their produce is usually fully stocked and fresh! We go for the fresh fruits and vegetables as the quality is great. They carry an adequate amount of organic perishables. The second great thing about this publix is that it is Huge and their bakery provides us with the bread my whole family enjoys. Typically we get 3 -4 loaves every week. While prices are higher, the convenience and quality make it worth it! The manager and staff are extremely helpful when we have questions. The subs on a Sunday night are a perfect weekly ritual for us. They customize to your individual needs. read more
