This was the first Publix I ever felt was really prepared for my sub order behind the counter. I went with family around the holidays (in 2025) and ordered a vegan sandwich that usually sends workers around the store so they can grab ingredients. If that was the case each time, I'd bring the toppings myself since they hold up a line or question management how to make it, read their paper, etc. When we went to the Publix by Lake Eola, the worker who prepared my sub was much quicker and efficient. Vegan cheese, the meatless deli slices, etc. and it came out fantastic. We also arrived near closing and they gave us excellent service. My family ordered their own sandwiches and enjoyed them, but I usually expect difficulty when it comes to placing my vegan sandwich order. This Publix was different and I appreciate how hip they are with the times. They knew what vegan meant, they knew which sandwich I was referring to (Meatless Turkey Club). Even if not everyone orders the sandwich, why advertise it / have on the menu if your workers aren't going to keep the ingredients ready? Well done Publix by Lake Eola! I was not familiar with Publix being from the New York area. I came here to pick up some snacks for my Orlando Trip. It is located right by Lake Eola. The weather was great and everyone was in a good mood. I had a great walk in the area before entering Publix. This store was very spacious and had tons of options. It was very packed on Saturday with people from the area. I was able to go through the store quickly and pick up what I needed. They had a variety of options at affordable prices. I picked up some chips, drinks, and a sandwich to go. The staff was very friendly and got me through the door quickly. I had a great time here and am happy with my first visit to Publix. read more

This Publix is in the heart of Downtown Orlando on the corner of Central Blvd and Lake Ave, right across from Lake Eola. I frequent this Publix a few times a week as I work walking distance to it. I come here for my eating essentials while at work. I find everything that I need and prices are like other stores out of DTO. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. The store is always clean and well organized. There's times where I've grocery shopped or made an online order for pickup through Instacart, and it is pretty easy to shop or pickup there as there is and underground parking garage right below the store. This Publix is near Lake Eola, it's the only Publix I've ever visited with its own underground parking garage. Being a smaller Publix, space is definitely at a premium here. The selection is good, but it's not quite as extensive as what you'd find in a larger store. That said, they've got all the essentials, and of course, the legendary Pub Subs are there. When we came in there was quite a line for the subs. Publix has a reputation for great customer care, and this location is no exception. The staff is always ready to help you find what you need. We just swung by for a water and an energy drink this time, but the experience was smooth and stress-free. If you're downtown and need a quick grocery run, this Publix does the job well. read more

On today's episode of why this fucking public sucks, we have the star of the show Shelley. Shelley is the new assistant manager, who is leaving precious alone to make subs on a Monday night at 8 PM. It took over 30 minutes to get one sub, and there was only one person in front of me. Meanwhile, you have the angry Emily shaking her head, making to-go subs instead of helping the people in line and then you have Shelly going around in circles, shutting down the deli area at 8 PM on a Monday so she can get home at 10 PM. Now working at restaurants all my life it is restaurant adequacy not to break down a kitchen while the establishment is still open. I see they replaced Jon, but things are only getting worse. Also, like I mentioned being in restaurants, I think it is a food contamination hazard to have lettuce inside the tomatoes, green peppers inside the onions, olives, inside the tomatoes because that can seriously kill somebody if they're highly allergic. I don't know who puts these people in charge, but let's get our shit together Publix for crying out loud. It is a neighborhood, friendly supermarket. I shouldn't be in there getting grilled by Emily. Came in to use the restroom since they typically have clean restrooms. Parking is in the underground garage and free. Very tight though. Elevators take you up to the store. Store is very clean like any Publix you've probably been to. They do have a security guard at the front of this store. Restroom is in the back of the store right past the eggs. The store does seem to get quite a bit of homeless walking around and using the facilities for bathing. read more

I was very disappointed. I came in to purchase beer. I found a sign that stated they had bud light beer on sale BOGO. At the register the price was not matching. I showed the clerk the picture of the sign and she directed me to the Customer Service desk. The clerk advised me the discount was for cans not bottles and I went back to the isle to charge to bottles and upon my return was advised that it was not cans that it was for a product they didn't readily have. I would like to add the discount code was under the Michelob section of the beer isle not under the bud light section. This nearby urban Publix has its own free, large parking lot in the basement. While it was a little tight for our huge rental car, we still managed to find a space. At least it was in the shade! As for Publix, it was the day before Ian was to arrive. They were sold out of some items and crowded but they were well organized and helpful. Batteries, water and flashlights were long gone. I got a few necessities like fresh veggies for our sandwiches and some mayo, salt and pepper. Oh yea, I also got two bags of chips. We have preserved Italian meats, cheese, bread and crackers so we can last a good long time without power if needed. It turned out, many lost power but our hotel didn't! The deli is the slowest deli ever! The wait averages 18.5 months on a less than busy day. The other day I went to order a sandwich--they were out of bread. How does a deli run out of bread? How does a deli that is adjacent to an in-store bakery run out of bread? They never cease to amaze me, I swear. I attempted to purchase a bottle of wine, and the cashier did not recognize my STATE ID as a valid ID. She insisted on calling a manager. I asked her what the trouble was, and she said that she had never seen an ID with "for identification purposes only" on it. The cashier did not recognize a non-driver ID. Yikes. If their cashiers can't recognize state issued IDs, how will they recognize invalid ones? Also, I'm decades older than 21. So this was weird... read more

I don't like any company who make it a point to involve themselves themselves in politics. But, Im willing to give any company one shot. I will tell you they provide the freshest, big, delicious subs anyone could dream of. I ordered the Italian... so big and delicious...the employee was gracious and the sub was amazing... like really amazing... this is the standard of which all subs should be measured. LaToya and another manager have continued to discriminate against me because of my disability. My dog is an ADA certified service animal. She doesn't say a word and helps me calm down if I were to have an episode. This is the third time that this has happened to me at this publix. I am not the first person with a disability that Latoya and other managers have discriminated against. There is multiple people who have reported against her. I told her multiple times that I can show her the paperwork telling about my dog. She continued to ask me what my disability was. She asked what does my dog do. How does she comfort me. She told me that my dog was an emotional support dog and not a service animal even though I told her multiple times that my dog is a psychological service animal. She continued to cut me off when I was trying to speak. She laughed at me when I couldn't pay my bill because I was too nervous and shaking from her walking up to me and coming in my face telling me I couldn't be inside because she seen me before. This Publix is located by Lake Eola and is the only Publix that I have ever seen that has its own underground parking garage. It is a small Publix, as it is in the downtown area where space is a premium. So you might not find everything that you need. However, they do do a good selection there. Of course, service is very important to Publix. They are known for their customer service and this Publix follows that same corporate mantra. Let us not forget what they are also known for, their Publix subs, affectionately known as Pub Subs. I grew up in the Northeast, in New Jersey to be precise, and Jersey knows how to make subs. I find it odd that one of my favorite spots to get a sub in the Southeast is at a supermarket, but Publix makes a fine sandwich. I recommend a visit here. read more

Ordered a meatball sub and paid ahead at 4:56 pm. For a 5:30 pickup. I came in at 5:50 pm. I did my other grocery shopping, and went to the online order sub counter around 6:00 pm. I waited for 10 minutes for someone to ask if I had ordered the meatball sub. I was then told that I was phoned to be notified they were out of meatballs. I was never called. Great store, friendly staff in Bakery, Meat department, pharmacy, produce, cashiers, and courtesy desk. However, WTF is wrong with the deli. Had 3 issues in 60 days. Spoke to the manager once, tall guy with a beard. Got little "Publix and I, care" in that interaction! 1. First issue, I purchased 20 chicken wings, I hate spicy food, so I buy plain wings, 42 years doing it this way. I buy regular wings, plain, what is in the box when I get home? 20 hot and spicy wings!!! I threw them all out. 2. I go to get a sandwich made, I look and one of the employees is chewing gum with her mouth wide open, over uncovered food, and making sandwiches. Health department violation, NO consuming food or chewing gum over uncovered foods. I left without ordering. That day I asked to speak to the manager, like I said, I could care less, is the impression I got! 3. I go in on 2/1/23 for wings again, maybe if I order them right from the steam table, I can ensure they are not spicy. I ask the girl, (maybe the name was Beyoncé, or close to that name) "are those not spicy?" Response: "I don't know". I respond with, "I don't like spicy, can you find out?" She says "try one" I don't want to eat one, but I don't want spicy wings. I try it, it is plain. Great! I order 10, paid for 10, get 9. I guess I had to pay to sample one, because she can't figure out what she is selling. This store is great, like I stated earlier. I live 4 blocks from it. I have to share this deli item I found that is so delish and everyone should try! While the Publix is very convenient and I've never had a problem there... being harassed EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. By the people outside asking if I "care about the kids" or whatever they want is just so damn tiring. It's to the point I would rather walk across the street, take the elevator up to my car, drive my car back down 4/5 levels drive to another store, drive back, drive up 4/5 levels, haul as much as I could possibly carry, back down an elevator, to walk across the street, to take an elevator back up to my apartment... then to just walk down the street a few hundred feet. While I like the store itself and friendly employees and management, I'm constantly approached by people asking for money or to buy them food. This Publix is located in the heart of downtown Orlando and is the only grocery store in walking distance. This Publix is kept very clean & and the layout of the store is simple and easy to navigate. Fresh vegetables are always in stock. Prices are reasonable and comparable to most local grocery stores. The deli is excellent (aren't all Publix deli's?). I love the Publix sandwiches, chicken fingers, chicken wings, potato salad, buffalo chicken salad, lobster bisque, etc. The bakery is super yummy w/fresh bread, red velvet cupcakes, fudge brownies, and Oreo cookie brownies. The pharmacy has quick and kind customer service. The cashiers are always patient & friendly, and I've never had to wait more than 10min in line on the busiest of days. They always open other lines if it gets really busy. The ethnic food section is a little small, especially when compared to the one on Colonial, but I understand why. I imagine the demand isn't high in downtown Orlando? Overall I recommend this Publix. I walk here at least once a week for groceries. read more

Hey it's just a very small convenient Publix located downtown where the rent is crazy high etc. But they still have the same great Publix service and selection, although they may not have all of the attributes of the bigger Publix stores. I certainly can see the complaints with the homeless people outside, but then again they tend to congregate where they see easy victims. A Publix supermarket in downtown Orlando attracts people that probably have disposable income, so they are targeting a specific market. The best thing to do is simply do not make eye contact, walk past them, and if they harass you, give them a nice karate chop right to the face. No I'm just kidding about the karate chop, just ignore them and go inside to do your shopping!! read more

Latoya is so unprofessional. She would not let my friend into the store with her animal that was ADA registered. We offered to show her proof , she rejected it and kept questioning my friend. She has poor customer service skills. My friend came to pay her electric bill during this same visit and forgot her debit card at home. Latoya said "Ha ha " as of she was mocking her. She is rude , dismissive and hateful. We now try to avoid this Publix all together. This location is closest to our house but we do not want to have to be treated so poorly for no reason.
