Stopped at the Winn Dixie to pick up some ice cream for the grand girls after having dinner with them at a nearby restaurant. The store was clean, bright, and well stocked even on a late Saturday evening. We were able to find the ice cream quickly and were fortunate enough to find a BOGO on the ice cream we purchased. Winn-Dixie has Been in a steady decline for years, if not decades, now. Well we can look for reasons like a changing demographic or a changing economy, I would have to put the blame solely on Winn-Dixie. They were once known as the beef people, but now I rarely buy beef from them. They have brought in beef from other countries, primarily Mexico and Australia, and the food is not rated by the USDA. They do have USDA Choice beef there, though it is rarely one of the ones advertised with their super sales. I will also say their lack of quality control has certainly hurt their overall reputation. Yet I am still giving this particular location four stores. The location is clean, the shelves are well stocked and service is friendly. Yes, we still must deal with knowing which meat to buy and which meat to pass, but this store shines when compared to other Winn-Dixie locations in the area. read more

I do regularly purchase seafood, chicken and pork from this location, seduced by the irresistible rewards program offered. I strongly recommend avoidance of the deli department. Chicken, both baked and fried is embarrassingly awful, as are the salads and sides. The deli's only saving grace is the rotisserie turkey breast, which is the best I've ever had. 4 Stars for a somewhat renovated Winn-Dixie that has some good pricing, occasional great deals on wine, and ribs grilled out front on certain Sundays! Ok, so it's a Winn-Dixie. Won't be the fanciest grocer you go to, but this one did get a nice little upgrade recently and you'll notice it most in the produce section. Beyond the typical grocery store finds, I've found some surprising deals on wine recently, so give that aisle a quick peek before you check out. They also have sweet Colombian bread in the bakery that I'd recommend highlyyy. And lastly, be sure to find out which Sunday they have the ribs being cooked out front. $10 for a massive rack of ribs that are absolutely perfect. Maria cooks them up by the front door and you can pay inside to get the $10 deal, or pay $11 in cash outside and get two drinks (soda and water) with each rack of ribs. Regardless, you need to try these ribs. The location is right, the prices are low, and the ribs are wonderful. Enjoy! read more

When I went shopping today at Winn Dixie, there was a heavy rain and when I came out, I found that my car wouldn't start. I went back into Winn Dixie and told the first person I saw and she led me to a young man named Owen. Although he was busy doing check out, he immediately said that he would give me a jump start. He pulled his car around and jump started my car in five minutes. I really appreciated Owen's help and the store just letting him walk out to help. Like all grocery stores Winn Dixie has excellent prices on some items, their deli meats, for example, and enough good BOGO deals on other items that I shop there about twice a week. I appreciate how nice and helpful all the people there generally are and especially today -- Owen. read more

I visited the new Winn-Dixie store today. Actually, it's a renovated Winn-Dixie store. The store has struggled for a long time to keep enough customers to keep it running and was almost faced with closing down. They made the right choice by renovating the store and making it clean and bright and shiny. The produce department is the best renovated part of the whole store. it was looking really poorly the last time I shopped in there and now it is full of appetizing fruit and vegetables. I did not get a chance to check out the dollar store that they advertise on the front of the building. Hopefully I will get to check that out next time. So go and check out the newly renovated Winn-Dixie store on Curry Ford Road, near Crystal Lake and see what you think. read more

5 for effort and for what appears to be a great make-over!! Looks great inside and out - front is newly painted, ... and the carts are oh so bright shiny new. Commenting as I pop in for steak and a few essentials. --- The fruit and veggies section looks great, fresh, colorful! Got some organic and not fruit. Lady's cart in front of me was packed with good produce! Then, walking towards beef section, I was surprised by wide shiny aisles! And an entire Dollar Shop aisle! Going past the cheeses were numerous sale tabs, as throughout the store. They are still "The Beef People"! Nice t-bones, tenderloins, ribeyes, etc. On towards Deli and breads. All new although not expanded too much so I don't know if they have too many new offerings, but what they have looks very good. Finishing this review after lunch, ending with the super delicious cherries I just bought at my local Winn Dixie -- I highly recommend you stop in and at least get their cherries (on sale, of course)!!! read more

There is probably good reason why other groceries stores eat Winn Dixie's lunch so to speak. It is understandable that they have given up on trying to compete at a high level with the other chains as it is evident when you walk in the store. They can, however, make a difference with the service, but unfortunately, they fall short consistently. They can do a bit better and nudge the store to a higher level. I usually stop in here for a few things that I may have forgotten to buy when grocery shopping earlier in the day. It seems like there is always something you forgot to put on that shopping list. This Winn-Dixie location is not my primary grocer, but as I said, it is convenient when it is on the way home and I can get what I did not buy earlier. This Winn-Dixie has been here for ages. And with a few renovations, it looks really good. And I really like the produce department. There is also a dollar section featuring many items. There are also some good buys throughout. I stopped in to buy some fruit. But I also picked up a few packages of cookies from the dollar section. Hey! If I am going to be confined in my apartment for several days during Hurricane Dorian, I am going to have cookies on hand! The deli and bakery is good, and the employees are friendly. The deli has a variety of chicken wings available that you can pick out and fill a tub. Try the lemon pepper wings. They are really good. And I like the French/Cuban bread the bakery produces. This Winn-Dixie is worth checking out. Especially if you need just a few things on the way home. read more

3 Stars for great prices, friendly staff, adequate parking, but an overall run-down and stale feel, coupled with lackluster produce selection. So, this place is really convenient to our house. I go here all the time. I'm very impressed to see that they carry a lot of what Publix has to offer, and some things that they don't! My wife - vegan - is actually able to get a few things here. They carry a handful of Gardein and Boca products, so that's nice. They have great prices and sales all the time, especially if you sign up for the PLENTI card. WHy not?! it's great! So, I also browse their produce. It's always MEH. The tomatoes never look great. The avocados are always a mixed bag. IT's just OK. Sometimes we go to publix just for the produce, even though it's generally pricier. The parking lot is always easy to get in and out of. No problem. My biggest gripe is that at around 7pm or 8pm, they close and lock one of the two entrances. And if I don't remember to park on the other side, I go up, can't get in and have to walk all the way to the other doors. This is an old-school supermarket, so it's rather a pain. On that note of being old, it definitely feels old. Stale. Some would say dirty. I've never seen or smelled anything weird. So that's good. And I know Winn Dixie isn't in its hayday (1980s) anymore. (No longer the BEEF PEOPLE?!) But, it would be nice if they invested some money into making the store feel fresh and more presentable. They staff are generally quite pleasant and helpful. WinnDixie cuts corners, so they don't have as many staff working at the same time as Publix would. Thus, you have to sometimes search for someone to help you, and they never have more than a couple registers open. But, they are all nice, which is a plus. Pretty sure most of the main staff are high school students! I'll continue to go here for the convenience. Just wish it was a bit nicer of a store. read more

Awhile back I thought I lost my wallet at this location. Not that I go through this situation often, but a store usually checks their back or lost and found and lets you know if it's there or not. That's where it ends. At this location (wish I remembered names) the woman at the customer service desk checked every cart inside and outside of the store. The manager went as far as pulling back surveillance tape, taking me back to the office and showing me exactly where I left my wallet (in my car; under my seat). This is a nice Winn Dixie. Convenient to downtown area, I shop here now that Bumby location closed. Well stocked aisles and nice meat section. This store, never, never has enough stock on hand. They open at 9...sold out of many of the items by 11 am. Sometimes they won't get the item till the next delivery tomorrow. I have contacted WD to let them know my frustration. They get back to you with more questions for you than an answer for me. One...get more stock...you know weeks in advanced what going on sale...TWO...LIMIT ITEMS! but I only go there for their specials. Their everyday prices are higher than most. After church, we drove through the Winn-Dixie parking lot; and, I spied the grill out from; and, remembered the special holiday pricing... $5 for a half-rack and $10 for the full. The lady had them four slabs finishing on the grill, so I bought two Full Slabs; and, we brought them home. The ribs were so delicious, tender, and tasty; and, one was literally "falling off the bone" tender. The other was more to my liking, with a little "bite/" The seasoning was perfect! This Winn-Dixie location is convenient when we are in the Curry Ford area. The shelves are usually well stocked and the service is always friendly. Prices are good and you can get a great value when things are on sale! Some other reviewers have dismissed this location. Went yesterday, needed help in meat department, not a soul in sight and no way to ask for help. So disappointed.

I used to love Winn-Dixie back home. I was initially happy to see one in my area until a very disappointing experience. I wanted to have a crab boil one night and decided to go to Winn-Dixie like we always did when I was younger. I decided to call first to make sure they carried crab legs which I was told yes and was even asked if I wanted to give my order so the could be ready and cooked when I got there. I wanted to cook them myself so I declined, but I headed over excited. I got there to find no one in the seafood counter. So I walked over to a man in a coat doing stuff near by and a manager and asked for help. The coated man told me the seafood place was closed. So I said I just called and was not told that. I called and was even asked for my preorder not even 5 minutes ago. Coated man said oh yeah I know and I'm not sure why she told you that and went bag to what he was doing. Even the manager stood there speechless but offered no help. What is frustrating is that I drove there on there instruction and there was no interest in trying to rectify their mistake at all. Also because I know it's just not that hard to but crab legs in a bag but cool. I know better than to visit this location again. read more

This place really creeps me out. It's a typical Winn Dixie, just seems smaller and dirtier than the one on Michigan and Conway. I was able to find what i was looking for. Didn't really get a chance to shop the whole store. Probably won't ever. I came here for groceries for my week in Orlando since I was staying with my friend. This place is huge compared to the supermarkets near my home in Brooklyn. They had a special on Yellow tail Wines and Camelot Wines , a brand I've never heard of. That was good because there was to be a wine and cheese party my friend was hosting a few days away. Thankfully, there was also some decent cheese wedges such as a Stella Asiago cheese. They do have an express lane which i took advantage of later in the week but couldn't do that on my first day there. Prices are seriously down down down at Winn-Dixie! I am very impressed with their competitive pricing these days. I love this neighborhood location. I stop in several times each week to grab any items I need for dinner. I always find great prices, markdowns and sales. The sock-it-to-me cake is amazing; you must try it! I also love the chicken salad in the deli and the fresh catfish in the seafood department. Sometimes the cashiers miss the quick sale discount stickers and sometimes things don't get priced properly, so be very aware when you're checking out to make sure that you receive all of your discounts. I used to shop at Publix but I started coming to this Winn-Dixie for over a year and a half now. I have never had a bad experience. Staff is polite and helpful, food is always fresh and not expired (which I stopped shopping at Publix after buying three different items that were all expired). They are not a busy location so it's nice be able to get a close parking spot and run through getting whatever I need. They are probably not staffed as well as other grocery stores, but if your looking for a place that isn't crowded, has everything on your list for a good price then this is the place to shop. read more

I tried this store out a couple of times since the other store closed. The customer service at this store is not even close to my regular store that closed on Michigan. I think today will be my last trip there. I asked a manager where I could find something and he made it clear I was doing nothing but annoying him. This has happened every single time I have been in there that at least one of their employees is beyond rude. Looks old an rundown. Staff composed of mostly kids are just ok. Dairy an produce are the worse I've ever seen. Parking is good but at dusk they lock one of the main entry doors so it's a bit inconvenient if you parked on that side, you will have to walk all the way around. Sales are ok but shop the ad as regular prices are very high. As far as looks an quantity the store less than a mile away on Michigan is better but not by much. Love Winn-Dixie for their Fuel Rewards. With these, I have saved so much! They also have great B1G1 deals. The meats are generally a good price and the quality is good.
