    Strawberry Sundae
    Stephanie G.

The best place to get the freshest fruit and veggies these days... and AFFORDABLE chicken. I've been a fan and patron of Freshfields Farm since I moved here a few years ago. You can get a pack of chicken thighs for $2 a pound; a pack of fresh herbs for $1.66 each; 4 bunches of parsley for like $3; a HUGE pack of eggs for under $10. And everything is tastier and fresher than most places these days. Also... if you haven't tried the soft serve ice cream sundae... This is a MUST. I love their strawberry sundaes- fresh cut strawberries over a large bowl of vanilla soft serve, served with pieces of waffle bowl. I call it "waffle nachos" because I use the pieces of waffle bowl to scoop up the strawberries and soft serve and eat it like nachos. The whole thing is under $5 and is my favorite ice cream in town. Their $2 hot dogs are pretty decent for a quick bite to eat. The only downside is that they close at 6pm everyday. Weekends get a little packed, but the lines to buy groceries go pretty quickly. There's plenty of parking- I don't think I've ever had an issue finding a space. Overall, my favorite place to shop when I'm able to make it before 6pm! Love it.

Fan of freshfields farm. Wish they brought back the Napa cabbage in produce! Everything is well-stocked and bustling. Prices are fantastic and everything is FRESH.

I have been wanting to come here for years and finally did. Whether you are in the produce or meat section, both makes it as a path that leads you to the check out area. Prices are very decent and can tell the products are fresh. Got to support our locals! Then ended my shopping at their little ice cream stand that is between the areas. Gotten a caramel cup which was a decent size for 4.25 (after tax). I did wish was w bit more ice cream than whipped cream. Yet that is just my own opinion

Everyone comes here for the groceries but I cone here for the strawberry sundaes. Yes it's just a soft serve with a waffle cup, but really it's all about the fresh strawberries with a tartness that cuts through the cream and sweetness of the ice cream. Always quick service and outdoor seating that gets hot on a sunny day. But it's worth it! Pro tip add Oreo crumbles for added texture and flavor

How did I not know if this place before? Freshfields Farm is a GEM! They have farm fresh vegetables and fresh meat for a fraction of the price than other places like Walmart, Target and Publix. The amount of different vegetables and meat is outstanding. After buying your vegetables and meat they have a little ice cream shop that you can pick up a sweet little treat! This place is definitely my new favorite place to go for food!

Huge strawberry shortcake, strawberry shake and my strawberry blind kid.

Lots of crazy good strawberry fun!! You should definitely check it out!!! We loved it!!

    Do they carry prime beef?

I am almost certain they do not. I believe only Choice grade.

    Is it pet friendly?

Hi, Tracy. Thank you for asking! For sanitation reasons, federal regulations prohibit pets in grocery stores. Service animals (trained to perform a specific task) are an exception. More on that here if you're interested:…

I'm moving to Kissimmee end of June and I'm from Mill Valley CA. I'm used to loads of organic markets that carry everything from vitamins to Whole Foods. Is this a good market to shop?

Hi, They just carry fresh foods from meats to fruits and veggies.

Hi!! I just moved to E Orlando from South Carolina. There was an awesome Farmers Market in Columbia that sold "non-alcoholic" Blackberry Cider, which I now seem to be quite addicted to!! Does anyone sell that at your market? Thanks!

Freshfields isn't really a "market" it's local meats and produce! For a speciality like a cider I would try East End Market, the Winter Park farmers market, or the Lake Eola farmers market! Good luck !

What is the temperature inside the market?

Cold enough that I bring a jacket with me every time I shop there.

    Do they take EBT?

    Yes

They did still have the giant beef rib when we arrived. But at $36 a rib, we opted to go with the pork ribs instead. Each of the general protein servings is a half pound. So we ended up with a portion of the pork rib, the pulled pork and the pork belly. The pork ribs was really good, although my husband didn't like the glaze that they had on the rib but the meat was delicious. The pulled pork was very good not fatty, which is fantastic. The pork belly is cut into giant chunks. It is very tasty. It does have a decent amount of fat on it. This location also has a variety of sides to choose from. We opted for the collard greens and the mac & cheese. The collard greens were good. They could've been cooked a little bit longer. As some of the pieces were a bit crunchy. The mac & cheese was good although the cheese sauce felt a little gooey and we attributed to that they may use a rue to make their sauce. Overall - we enjoyed the food and would check them out again.

The restaurant seating is omakase style, the menu has 3 options featuring Japanese Wagyu, tuna and curry menchi katsu with U.S. beef. Each order is presented beautifully in a set with 2 small sides, a bowl of barley rice, 2 different dipping sauces and a cabbage salad that you pair with goma (sesame) dressing. You also get a hot bowl of suimono soup towards the end of your meal. Unfortunately it was a bit to salty for my preference. To cook the wagyu, you place the pieces onto the hot stone butane grill in front of you and sear to your preference. There's no smoke and the market is open air enough you don't smell like BBQ. The meat is so tender and buttery. It was delightful. The potato salad was delicious and the pickled cabbage complimented the richness of the wagyu very well. My husband had the surf and turf. A nice big portion good enough to share. The tuna was fresh and breaded well but I preferred the wagyu for sure. Will definitely be back again.

Each restaurant and shop feels like its own little world, and you can sense it the moment you step inside. That's exactly what Gyukatsu Rose offers. Their service will make you feel like royalty. One of the most interactive and delicious dishes is the Single Wagyu Set. You get to cook the Wagyu to your desired temperature right at your table on their tabletop grill. One dish that absolutely blew my taste buds away was the Curry Menchi Katsu. The Japanese curry flavors were incredibly well-balanced, and the katsu was perfectly tender. Every dish comes with an assortment of side dishes. My favorite was the rice topped with yakiniku sauce and egg yolk, simple but yet incredibly flavorful. To finish it all off, be sure to order the Matcha Ice Cream Brûlée. It's the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal.

From the moment we walked in, the staff at the front entrance was incredibly welcoming and even took the time to show us around the market. The ambience feels like a neighborhood Italian shop, with shelves lined with imported products from Italy that make it fun to browse while you wait. It's a small, casual space that feels authentic rather than overly polished. We ordered the Italian sub with sun-dried tomatoes instead of the standard toppings, along with the chicken cutlet sandwich with vodka sauce. Both sandwiches had excellent flavor and tasted fresh. The sun-dried tomatoes were a great addition to the Italian, although I do think it could have used a little more meat. Considering the price, I expected it to be a bit more generously filled. The chicken cutlet sandwich was delicious overall, but the cutlet itself was a little dry. I asked for extra sauce, and initially the employee seemed reluctant and tried to charge me for it. After I showed him how dry the sandwich was, he gave me the sauce, which made a huge difference and brought the sandwich together. That interaction was really my only service-related critique. Overall, the quality of the ingredients is excellent, the sandwiches are satisfying, and the market has a unique charm you don't find at most sandwich shops. While it's definitely on the pricier side, the authentic atmosphere and quality make it a place I'd happily come back to. I'd love to work my way through more of the menu on future visits.

After a 10 mile hike at Orlando Wetlands, I was ready to eat. I'd read about Stasio's on some…read more"best sandwich" lists and decided it was time to try it out. I will be going there after every Saturday hike forever more. The lists did not lie. Stasio's delivered the best sandwiches I have had in Florida. Walking in, I must have looked confused because I heard a knowing voice ask if it was my first time in. I admitted that it was and a delightful employee walked over to me to show me around. Stasio's has a deli counter, a coffee counter, and several shelves with Italian foods. I quickly learned that sandwiches are ordered at the deli and brought out to the waiting area when ready. Coffee is ordered at a cash register and the coffee is poured or prepared after purchase. Any prepared foods, together with sandwiches and fresh bread, are paid for at one of two registers. Despite the crowd -- and it was crazy busy -- everything was remarkably efficient and the staff showed no sign of stress. I ordered an Egg and Pepper sandwich and a Caprese Sandwich. Bread is made onsite and it was as fresh and delicious. (I ordered a loaf of Semolina/Italian bread and brought it home, where it was eaten within a few hours. At $4.99 for a loaf, it is an amazing value and a great treat!). Both the egg and pepper and the Caprese were prepared simply and to perfection. Fresh ingredients pack a lot of flavor and my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Amazingly, I don't think Stasio's adds any fats to their sandwiches -- The egg in the egg and pepper, and the mozzarella in the Caprese do all the work. There are seats at a bar along the front window and a few tables outside, but I chose to eat in my car. At a peak time (like Noon on a Saturday), there was not a lot of available seating but it did seem that chairs opened up fairly quickly. After a 10 mile hike, I just did not think it was fair to anyone who might be seated next to me to have to sit next to me! No photos but others have shared enough that you can picture the experience!

Parking wasn't an issue either. As I walked in, I was greeted by who seemed to be the owner and a young woman. Very nice, lovely staff. Everyone was so sweet. My only issue was that they didn't have a good portion of their menu ready and it's mostly because they didn't have the gravy for their dishes. The ones we wanted came with gravy and the staff let us know they were behind on making it. So we pivoted and tried their prime rib smash burger but unfortunately that felt a little disappointing. For the price that it was, you'd think that you'd get a decently portioned burger or some sides with it but it was super tiny. And the bun felt like grocery bread, the type you can get for a home bbq. It was still delicious but rather disappointing at the same time. We ended up having to order a third dish just to feel satisfied and at least it was very good. The bowls are worth it, maybe not the burger but the bowls for sure! I also snagged up a donut and truthfully that is one of the best donuts I've ever had. Another downside to this spot and why I didn't give it a 4 star is because how slow the service was. We watched a whole family get up and leave because it was taking so long, I actually felt bad for the staff and owner. The place has great tasting food, just needs a little shaping up.
