Are you fed up with increasing costs in groceries? Would you like to save some money on your basic cooking staples? Did you just look at your $300 grocery bill and wonder where all the food went? If you answered Yes to any of these questions.. you need to run.. not walk.. to Aldi. Aldi is a multinational discount supermarket chain that originated in Germany that operates over 12,000 stores in over 18 countries. The one I frequent the most is the one located in Orlando on Narcoosee Rd since it's so close to my house. Aldi carries all your basic necessities from eggs, milk, bread, fruits and vegetables. You name it they've got it. At least for the most part. You can find pretty much anything you need for your fridge or your pantry for much less compared to your local Publix. You can get a dozen eggs here for less than $2. If you went somewhere else.. you'd end up paying about $6-8. So if you did the math.. that's about $4-$6 you just saved. And it doesn't stop there. Whenever I'm craving salmon (which is quite often) I usually get it here and it's $19 and it easily feeds 6 people. Oh and if you're a charcuterie board person... I highly recommend stocking up on the cheeses and Italian meats. They have everything from Gruyère, Brie, Gouda, Asiago, manchego and even goat cheeses. And did I mention that they sell wine and beers here too?! You can get a nice bottle of red for $7 and still be tipsy. I love that Aldi has all the ingredients I need at a fraction of the costs. I can pick up all my ingredients, cook a fabulous meal and drink my arse off like there's no tomorrow and not feel bad about it. The only disclaimer I will add is that all Aldi locations are slightly different. One store may have more or less than the next location. Oh and another I want you to know is that they do charge for grocery bags. So make sure to bring your own. Remember to have a quarter handy to use their shopping carts. I love Aldi. My tip is to give them a chance. It's originally a German company so it's going to be different than how American grocery stories are run, but its differences are what makes it so great (and inexpensive!). The brands may not be what you're used to but the quality is decent. Produce so far has not wronged me. There are some organic options, too. There's also a decent-sized gluten free section. I thought I went hard the other day grocery shopping. I was throwing in handfuls of things, double of some things, things I just thought LOOKED interesting...thought surely it's over $100. It ended up being $54. It would've been that amount if I was at Publix or Lucky's Market. No shade towards those places, they're just more pricey due to their business model. Well, as far as Aldi stores go, with this one, I'm a fan! I have to admit that I had been to another Aldi off of 436 a couple of years ago and was unimpressed. So, I figured they were all like this ... hence the discounted prices. I just happened to be talking to a couple of friends about Publix pricing and not so great produce and they told me to shop at Aldi. I told them about my experience and that I wouldn't be doing that. So, the other day, my friend called me up and asked me to just take an Aldi run with her so I could see what I had been missing. so, I did. On the ride there, she told me that this particular Aldi had been updated and that it was nice. Well, she was right! It was definitely a different experience from the one I had before. The store was very clean, modern and well organized. Even better, the prices were FANTASTIC! They have organic, humane certified and grass-fed options here that are way more affordable than other grocery stores (they don't have a lot, but enough to make this girl happy.) The produce looked fresh and there were plenty of options. They also have items that you won't find at any other stores as they are Aldi specific ... some with a German flair ... oooh la la, international! I ended up loading my cart because I couldn't pass up the deals. Seriously, a huge watermelon was only $3.50 ... these were $9.99 at Whole Foods and $7.99 at Publix. I felt like I had won a price prize! The whole store is like that. They also have home items in the middle of the store with good prices as well. Oh, and bring a quarter to rent a shopping basket! To get a basket, place your quarter in the slot to the right of the handle. It will release the basket from the chains. It stays in there during the time you use it and when you are done, plug the basket back into the chains and your quarter will pop out ... smart! You will also need to bring shopping bags as you will bag your own groceries at the counter just past the check out. Once you check out, your groceries will be loaded back into a basket and then you head over to the counter to sort and pack. Some people might not like this but I love packing my own groceries they was I want them and not using plastic bags. So, it totally works for me. It looks like some of the reviews from this store are before the makeover, so I implore you to give this place a twice over now. With these choices and these prices, this will definitely be a "go to" place! read more

This was my first time in this particular store. It was right after the store opened at 9am and there was a very clean, almost chemical-like smell. The floors looked like they were just cleaned so I am going to guess that is what I was smelling. I always forget how much I enjoy ALDI until I shop in one. Months always go by between visits. I will say they have a great selection staples, unique finds, and gluten free items. I am really never disappointed. I like making smoothies so I do wish they had more options for frozen fruit or at least bigger bags. Their pasta sauces and frozen veggies are great! I stock up almost every time I go. This time I stocked up on a few staples to make a summer salad that is a family favorite. read more

Still ok. Wish cashiers weren't under such pressure to HURRY ... if they are swallowed up in the RUSH.. too bad if you have a question or concern. I figured out they are under PRESSURE.... but they try to be pleasant ( Have learned to get there before noon if I want FRESH produce ... it is not as new as it should be and looks pawed over by afternoon ..but prices are great. (I have learned to go on to Walmart for fresher, sometimes) I start at Aldi for basics, go on to Walmart for certain items and then to Publix for real quality, if $$$$ Ads come out on Thurs .. but items are there on Weds....so somethings don't exist on Thurs !!!!! FUN dry goods, if you luck into them !!!! I keep quarters in my car, with bags have seen people "bagging" AT the car....works..... People "buy" the cart from eachother, in the lot,..saves you the trip back !!!! read more

I hadn't been to Aldi's in years, but I had remembered that I really liked it. Lately, there have been an annoying amount of commercials on the radio for baby food...so we went by. I love the way the store is set up to guide you around. The isles are large and everything clearly marked and easy to reach. Prices are incredibly low for the store brand items, which are as good as any name brand. We spent $40, which easily would have been double had we goon to Target or Publix. Always remember to bring your own bags or boxes with you. The cart is 25 cent refundable deposit to unlock. It is fun for the kids to do and teaches them the value of a quarter. So, my goal is to convert everyone to shop at aldi. It's worked on a few of my friends so far once I take them there myself. The thing is that this grocery store is so unassuming! If my boyfriend hadn't taken me shopping there last year then I might never have discovered it. Aldi has the cheapest prices on your staple items. Really, I have a hard time shopping anywhere else after seeing how cheap aldi is. Adam and I can fill a cart to the brim and somehow it always comes out about $70. They do have some specialty items but these are temporary and get changed often so you can't fall in love with a product. You need a quarter to get a cart and I'm hoping that you can handle that if you're about to purchase groceries. You do, of course, get it back when you put your cart away- which helps deter people from leaving them in the parking lot, which I also love. It's a bring your own shopping bag too so less waste! I always keep some in the trunk of my car (stowed away nicely) just incase! read more

Super cool low key and inexpensive super market. Products seem to be from out of country like Brazil or Argentina or even France. Things like milk, eggs, cheese, veggies and fruits all here. Pack stuff for beach too, even beach chairs and lunch boxes. Inexpensive!!! read more

I absolutely love Aldi's! This one is my current stomping ground based on distance from home. Located in the Southchase area of OBT close to Hunter's Creek this Aldi's shares a plaza with a Ross which also features fantastic deals but yet I digress. You will find me in this store at least once a week as they feature tons of always quality, fresh and seasonal goods and items. Products made in Italy, Germany, France, Greece, etc!? And all for the SUUUUUUUPER cheap. My gf and I really would be in a different financial state if we didn't shop at Aldi's. This really is the store not only for the working man but for the smart consumer who wants quality, even gourmet goods at dirt cheap prices. Like $2.29 for a gallon of soy milk! Or $3 for an 8oz wheel of Brie. Did I mention the booze!? Great options. You can go as dirt cheap as me and get the Winking Owl options on the bottom shelf for $2.79 apiece and not bad at all. In summary Aldi's is the working man's godsend and I can't describe how excited I get everytime I go because I know I am going to have a great experience and save a TON of money! This is a great Aldi location right next to a $5 car wash! Get two tasks accomplished at the same time on the cheap. You will actually feel the money jump back in to your wallet as you cruise the aisles of semi-familiar brands. You'll fantasize about how you will chomp down your Captain Munch and hot tarts. Then, you get to watch them scan your items at 100 miles an hour and throw them gently into your ever awaiting basket. It's an experience not found at any other grocery store! Their food is nasty and selection is poor. I detest having to have change on me for a shopping cart. Come on you can't even provide me with a cart? Then I have to have my own bags and pack the bags. I'm ok with packing the bags because most of the time it's people that don't care and smash my groceries. But my first time there I didn't know these things. They should have a sign before you go in that you need the following items for your groceries. That way no surprises at check out and angry people in line waiting because someone didn't know the rules and doesn't have bags with them. For me these are moot points because the food is so horribly subpar that I won't return. I'm ok with going to Publix and getting food that my family and I will really eat. read more

What happened to this location? In the last few months this store has gone downhill. Always out of product, disorganized and dirty. I'm giving two stars rather than one based on prices alone. I tried going to the store on Sand Lake and found similar decline. Looks like back to Publix for all my grocery needs. read more

How did this place get 5 stars? I normally shop at Publix and had never been to an Aldi so I thought I'd try it. This place is extremely dirty, the floors were unkept, no express lane, no bags and the food selection is very low quality. The checkers don't even make eye contact. I'll spend more money for better quality, selection and service. read more

It's really hard to find comparable prices for the quality you get at Aldi. Variety, freshness and a growing organic produce section makes it hard to beat. Small location but the savings are def. passed on to the consumers. read more
