The rice in all the sushi is very, very undercooked. Makes for dry, crunchy sushi. Unfortunate because the fish itself is fresh. They need to cook the rice much longer. Maybe taste-test some of the sushi that has been in the sushi cooler for longer than a couple of hours so they know what the rice texture is like when it's cold. Also, they had no hot soup available and it was only 6:30pm, on a Tuesday. The line for the sandwich station was long and moving very slowly. These are things that are not issues at other Publix locations I frequent. They should look at fixing their processes and practices. On the plus side, everyone was kind and everything was very clean. This is long time after 18 years or 17 years - to go this side of town during Memorial day Weekend. People like Mr. Dylan who is the manager for Deli or Boar's head one of the food or place where you can get sand wiches or so - very nice - Other than Great Brother Mr. Dylan who comes and asks and i see his picture on the board- i was amazed- he came and asked if he wants to help. Same goes without saying to Ms. Emma- outstanding individual She has a great attitude She knows what is Vegan -she was suggesting- other girl went already to look for Vegan Taco - amazing- cannot imagine how fast , quick and customer service-they should be noted across for this kind of service- but looks it will be really busy so many apartments are already filled up nearby and there are some more coming up-this must be an going to be one of the busiest place i believe Good work ethic by those two girls who were there today -May 28th 2022 and Mr. Dylan Ensure to put for great Ms. Emma. Not my normal local Publix, but this one was still open as I would not make it to mine in time, so I stopped and got a few things. Obviously, Publix is a chain, so there are many similarities, but I was most impressed with the produce section- so clean, fresh and STOCKED! I could've spent an hour in there looking at all the fresh veggies! Again, it's a chain, so a similar layout, and the normal very friendly staff continues at this location as well. It's only a couple of minutes farther away than my local, I will probably come back here again! read more

This store is convenient, although expensive. I would normally grocery shop at Walmart, but this Publix is across the street from me. My son will only eat white mountain bread, yet at this particular store, it's rarely available. For days!! As well as advertised sale items. Shelves empty! I decided on this occasion to try something that has caught my eye on numerous visits...the spinach/feta stuffed chicken breasts. Yuck! No seasoning whatsoever. NONE! Bland, unseasoned chicken, with little feta (maybe increase this for some kind of flavor) and unseasoned spinach leaves. Watery, bland...just plain nasty. Don't bother going to the Deli unless you're a regular customer and know how everything works. I got in line to buy some hot food and ask the person in front of me if the line is for just the subs or the hot food too, she says it's for both. I get to the front of the line and the employee says I'm in the wrong line and refuses to serve me hot food. I look at the floor and surroundings and there's no indication that there's two lines whatsoever. They just expect you to know that there's two lines or maybe you just walk up to the counter like it's a free for all. Complete chaos in front of the deli, never going back to a Publix deli again. Close to home but rather go to one a little further away. Prime reason. Stopped today to pick up less then 10 items with 5 of them deli meats/ cheese. When I approached the deli there was one customer & Six employees. I was waited on after 20 minutes with employees talking & standing in back. Needless to say this was not acceptable. Retail workers there need to look up the definition of " a customer" and " customer service". While all this was occurring and there were 4 other customers waiting since only one employee was waiting on the deli meat& cheese side of the deli, the manger on duty left. read more

Publix is always a great option when shopping for groceries, however this location is my favorite! Shelves are always well stocked and aisles are always clean and tidy. Staff is extremely friendly and very courteous. There have been many times when they have offered to bring my groceries to my car. I've taken them up on their offer a couple of times and they even load you're groceries for you! read more

When we moved here 5 years ago this was a wonderful 5 Star Publix. It is now so poorly stocked we no longer shop here. In the past year the stock they carry has narrowed significantly and they are consistently out of very common items like Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing and Stubbs BBQ sauce. I used to go here weekly and now I have stopped going altogether because every single time I have gone in the past year they have been out of stock or simply stopped carrying multiple items I need on my list. I do not think Covid can be blamed for these particular issues because the Publix on Colonial I switched to has none of the same problems. read more

This is the second time in two weeks that I have been terribly disappointed at the food and service of the deli. Two weeks ago there was a terrible wait. After getting home when I unpacked my dinner (chicken/wedge potatoes) I saw that the person had put me a thigh in my meal instead of a breast. I called the store manager and he apologized for the error. That was that. I threw my food in the trash. Tonight I went back to try to get dinner again. It was at 5:45 p.m. which is probably peak time for fresh chicken. The employee first told me and a few other shoppers it would be 5 minutes for them to be available (3 chicken fingers). I chose to wait the five minutes and stood and watched them refill the warmer with several boxes of mixed chicken. Finally I heard the employee telling a new customer that it would be 7 minutes for the fingers. When they finally got finished cooking, I was given my fingers and my potatoes as requested. In walking away I asked one of the employees if he was the manager and he told me he was. I expressed my dismay of what had happened (and what happened two weeks ago) and he offered to pay for my chicken. I declined (I was not trying to get something for nothing). I told him I was just trying to buy my dinner and to home. In a very ugly tone me told me he imagined I wasn't the only one. I was sooo upset and stopped and talked with one of the other managers on my way out and told him what had happened. He also offered that he would comp my chicken and I declined. At this point I was beside myself. I am an old man. I am sorry for any perceptions of my reaction to what happened today. I am not used to young men that are in a manager's position talking like that to me. The two places that your employees interact face to face with your customers are at the customer service counter and the deli. This Publix is okay. Mostly friendly, even if my husband and I put our items in the order we want them bagged it just gets thrown in however. But today..we walked in to do our groceries and THE ENTIRE LAYOUT CHANGE. For us OCD grocery shoppers whom create their lists according to the aisles, this royally sucked. The new layout doesn't make much sense but I suppose we'll adjust! Also, not a huge fan of the mostly self check out change as well. read more

This is near my house so I will always end up at Publix. I have found their service and options are consistent over the years, but they are getting more and more expensive for common items. My family tends to stock up when they offer the BOGOs. The deli on my last 2 visits has also slipped from asking for thin slice, not example provided and it being too think to having to ask for a sample as my child sitting there asking with Please and being ignored. It is clean and great service, but with limited options in the area if not watch may opt to drive further for another option. read more

I think Publix is a great place to shop, but perhaps not this one. I constantly hear people say they drive farther away to go to a different one. This one doesn't have a huge wine selection, seems to run out of items often, mostly sale items, but with out a doubt, this deli section is the worst one I've ever experienced. Whether it's getting your pre-ordered sub on time, or having it made correctly, to lousy staff attitudes. I see the manager working in the deli but never a smile, never eager to help, and her staff is a reflection of her. I've seen deli staff eating McDonalds out of a bag standing to the side while kissing their boyfriends as well. I went to the Publix on 535 in Windermere last week to get chicken wings and asked if they had any buffalo sauce I could toss them in when I got home (because I have had people tell me that they'll let you have extra sauce). They tossed them for me in sauce, smiling the whole time, doing it gladly, no extra charge! At the West road location, (twice), they simply point to where the sauces are and yell me to pay for the extra sauces. Forget about having them tossed. I have mentioned to upper management my concerns, but to no avail. I would suggest replacing and re-training this manager in proper service skills while bringing in a proven deli manager. If you read comments about this store, most of them deal with lousy service in the deli. read more

Ordered sub via Publix online site - cause "they/Publix" say it's quicker! Except I ordered it at 12:30p today - it was scheduled for pickup at 1:20p (why so long?) and wasn't ready until after 130p. And then picked up a to go large soup and the lids don't fit?? Had to find someone to wrap plastic around the base/lid so it wouldn't spill all over my vehicle... Really Publix?? I agree with the previous reviewer who says, "why review a big chain?", however, I, too, had a great customer service experience here and felt the need to share it. I'm currently visiting from out of town and stopped by to get some items for a party, but in my haste, I picked up an item without a sku or price label. Back home in NJ, that usually gets groans from the cashier and other staff, but I received nothing but smiles and apologies! I also was asked if I needed a cart brought to me since I had so many bags. Plus, it was offered to me to bring the groceries to my car -- totally unheard of in my neck of the woods! New Publix in a growing area. I remember when the school first opened and this was all woods. Great atmosphere in the store was able to get in and get out with the cat food for my girlfriend. It was almost closing time and for them to have to have plenty of lanes open on a Saturday night was very empressive. read more

Why on Earth would I review a big chain store like Publix. One reason, this place is worth it. I normally find Publix to be fairly overpriced, and way to crowded and crazy. However, this specific store has gone out of their way to impress me. Let me give you an idea of what I mean. Upon my last visit I was greeted with a "Hi, how can I help you" no less than 4 times in my first 5 minutes of shopping. Every employee was busy stocking and cleaning, yet they were all still smiling and willing to help any customer within reach. Now of course the product selection and organization was great. And the store was very clean and tidy. At the checkout counter I was helped by one person who loaded my groceries onto the counter, one who rang me up while laughing and joking with my kid, and another who was loading the bags of groceries back into the cart and looked upon me with utter disbelief when I declined the offer to let her help me out to the car. I visit this store every week and must say this place has the most engaged staff I have ever seen. There is always a manager within sight at the counter area who will usually great you and at some point assist in the checkout process. Everyone is energetic, smiling and extremely helpful. Even though they offer the same products as every other run of the mill Publix this one stands high above the rest, and should be used as an example for others to follow. I may be fortunate to live minutes away from here, but I would drive far and right past other grocery stores to shop here if I had to. The service is well worth the slightly higher prices that Publix offers. read more

This Publix is great. The cashiers are always super nice. The staff is very helpful and always looking forward that you have a good shopping experience. The market is clean and always have great variety of products. Their sandwich bar is also very good. I recommend this Publix location with my eyes closed. read more

I have been a avid Publix customer for 20+ years, Publix Customer Service to me was right up there with Disney World Company but i think i lived in a shallow bubble :( I have lived in Lake Mary and the Disney area for that 20 years and my Publix stores were Lake Mark Publix on Lake Mary Blvd and Publix on Vineland Road at Int'l Drive, THEY WERE AMAZING! 100% Best in the biz places to shop! Then 3 months ago i completed building my new home in the Apopka/Ocoee area and my new Publix on West Rd in Ocoee OMG! Worst place ever! The management staff is rude and unhelpful, their product is always running out. No one seems to know their General Manager's schedule, "Victor" Somebody, so you can never reach them. Tonight's was the final straw, I attempted to get a hold of the deli by phone for 45 min, no one ever answered and the front customer service kept picking up the phone and just transferring me again over and over until i asked to speak with the manager and a guy named "Brian" came on the phone and gave the excuse it was dinner time and that they were probably busy and put me on hold and said he was going to go and see what was going on. While on hold, customer service after about 5 min picked up and again and the continuous transferring to the deli started all over again. Still on the phone in this continuous loop of ringing and being transferred, I got in my car and drove the 20 minutes to the store, walked back to the deli, phone still in hand ringing, and saw NO CUSTOMERS, nor could I hear any phone ringing despite it hanging on the wall and no one on it. A lady in the Deli who claimed to be the Deli Manager #1 she kept calling me "baby" even after I asked her not too, I really think she continued to do it because she could see it irritated me. #2 When i asked for the Deli Manager's name she just pointed up at a picture above her that said "Kim Hicks" and said "you can read baby, you can see its me" All I had asked her for is some corn nuggets and she said she didnt have any, something they have said every time I have asked for the last 3 months since I have had to go to this store for my groceries :( Im done for now, Win-Dixie is a lot further away but my delusion that all Publix Supermarkets shared the same values and expectations is over :( PUBLIX IF YOU CARE, PLEASE CHANGE THE MANAGEMENT IN THIS STORE, use the example of most your other stores. Ill visit again in about a month and hopefully your store at that location has gotten their act together, so i can resume my patronage. read more

I usually don't do this type of thing, but I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes to be acknowledged at any Publix. I frequent this location in particular a lot! I ordered a sub online thinking easy in and out pick up, NOT today. They "didn't" receive my online order, yet I received a confirmation email for my order. I waited 20 minutes, yes, 20 minutes to even be acknowledged. I've never waited more than 5 minutes for anyone at a Publix to acknowledge me. To say I was highly upset is an understatement. I have bot been feeling well today then to wait 20 minutes to be acknowledged and for a sub that takes a total of probably 5 minutes to wait is unacceptable. They also didn't even have enough bread or the type of bread that was on my order. I will NOT be using the online ordering system anymore, I may even frequent a different Publix from now on. This is quite possibly the WORST publix experience I've ever had! read more
