This has to be the worst one. Sketchy area, outside wall super dirty. Customer service line has no clear signs for where the line starts. Everyone seems to be in autopilot, including management. If you ask anything they'll just nod and start walking expecting you to assume they want you to follow them to find something, haven't learned how to read minds yet folks! Customer service staff looks extremely tired when they should be the complete opposite, ambassadors of what service is! Nope, not here. The self checkout machine feels more friendly than them. The ONLY people I encountered that were absolutely incredible was the bakery team. What a breath of fresh air. read more

This is one of the Publix I visit as our Metrowest branch is being renovated. This Publix still had the old format where the dairy section is on one side, frozen desserts on the other, and the meat/fish/deli in the back. While it is small and old, it is still clean, convenient, and has the necessities I need. They still have their BOGO deals, which they love to display in front. The deli section doesn't have as many selections i see in Ilseworth, but I can still get my salads and sandwiches. Most of the staff are friendly, but the deli department could be more helpful. The water and sodas are near the entrance, which i found a bit odd. The streets can get very crowded during the evening, and it can get hard to get in and out of the strip, even with the traffic light for Conroy Windermere. While I prefer the Publix at Ilseworth, this one is still a decent one for people in the Kirkman Road area. read more

There is a reason, well, several reasons that I can point directly at to explain the rise of Publix to the very definition of what a supermarket should and could be here in the southeastern United States. First, Publix has amazing customer service. You are continuously greeted by the employees as you walk through the supermarket. They also will address any question or concern you might have. Customer service is just one thing that sets Publix apart. Another thing is their weekly BOGO (buy one, get on free) deals. Every week they have a slew of great deals. We also cannot forget their subs, affectionately known as pub subs. These are great subs. One of my main go to subs their Italian. I also like their roast beef and cheese. My daughter, who is not a huge sandwich fan, even likes their chicken tenders subs. My son, who does like sandwiches, likes their Italian sub, as well. Kind of weird to realize that some of the best subs come from a supermarket, but Publix definitely delivers. Oh, another thing that I am a fan of is the Publix diet iced tea, available over by the deli section. The deli is also pretty impressive. You can get cakes and whatnot, but I really like their bread and they also have pizza dough do that you can make your own homemade pizza. All in all, Publix is a great supermarket and it is my go to supermarket. If you have been to Publix, I am sure you will understand. If you are not familiar with Publix supermarket, try them once and you will be a fan. Publix has come a long way since they began here in Florida. They have expanded throughout the southeast and continue to grow. As I said, I do recommend Publix, definitely the best supermarket around. read more

Just spent 20 minutes watching a women make 2 sub sandwiches for a couple with three other people waiting. I've seen Michelin restaurants turn over entrees quicker. It isn't as if she was alone. Five other deli employees worked in the department. The folks preparing hot food orders didn't bother to help prepare subs. The woman weighing and bagging cold cuts for tomorrow's subs didn't bother to help with customer service either. Perhaps she's a specialist at bagging cold cuts. We live close by and shop here pretty regularly always a good experience. Till couple weeks ago I had to order a cake for my daughter - she is obsessed with stitch and that was her party theme. So cake HAD TO be a stitch as well. After browsing internet for ideas I found exactly what I want and came here to request it. At first I was told it wasn't possible and they can only do partial idea of the cake. I was disappointed but had no other choice. I came back few days later to put the order in. And likely was able to communicate with Jessica (possibly a manager of the bakery not sure) but after discussing details she agreed to make the cake exactly like the picture I brought. And I'm so glad she did - she made my day, my daughter's birthday, all guests were in AWEE of the cake. I honestly teared up when I saw the final result. Cause she did such a beautiful job decorating. And I'm so grateful for her. Gestures like this from just a regular employee can make such a drastic difference in customers experience. My wife and I frequent this one the most as it's the closest to us. They provide exceptional customer service, as is the Publix standard and it's typically not very crowded. They're also centrally located to a few restaurants and fastfood joints, so you can grab a bite to eat if you're on the go and don't want to stop at the deli while you're shopping. While I don't have many bad things to say, at all, about the company or this location, I will say it's been disappointing that they haven't had a decent stock on a few things. The Sparkling Ice water and a few other items have been out of stock here for a while. Although one could write this off as distributor issues, the 3 other Publixes in the vicinity of this one haven't had that issue. Admittedly, that's a bit nit-picky. The bigger issue is that Publix has begun gouging its prices. I'll happily go to other stores for the sake of saving money, but it's a shame I have to go that route. I used to go to Publix weekly if not twice a week if I forget an item however recently it seems that they have hyped up the price on almost every item in the store and it's crazy to think that Publix is priced me out. Even with their bogos and their sales I walk out with 100 plus total for just a house of two and I'm talking we're buying minimum budgeted food items. At this point I've had no other choice but to take my shopping elsewhere so I can afford to eat. There's no reason for many of these items to hike up $2-$5 an item. I'm happy to see that the price of eggs are starting to go down but that doesn't change the fact that they have raised the prices so outlandish on their own branded items. It's supposed to be cheaper going with publix's brand than it is to go with a name brand but nowadays it doesn't matter. read more

I really hate to give low reviews, but this publix usually keeps the same items on sale; rotating the sales for every 3 weeks it seems on particular items. The seafood department doesn't carry a good selection as their Dr Phillips location, or even their Sand Lake location. I have to say they do accept requests and will have it the next day. Keeping with Publix standards. The staff is very much friendly and helpful. The three starts given is for the lack of sale on other items most customers purchase and the selection availability on shelf. This publix is the closest to me. Yes I will return. Publix bakery is the best. Guaranteed everyone will love it. I have been using them for years for Birthdays, Parties and even a Wedding.

The manager at this location does not know how to manage. I spent twenty minutes waiting in the line for customer service for no reason. I just left the line because it was ridiculous. The manager was watching from the check out line, they had multiple lines open with one customer each but cannot reallocate to customer service. She had the time to organize plastic bags and coupons but didn't want to help the stressed out employees. Terrible, I won't be back to this location! read more

I love Publix for many reasons, not just their delicious subs and great deli and bakery. Publix is the only grocery chain that I purchase produce from as it is fresh, has a great variety and is decently priced. The staff, or most of them, are pleasant and helpful. They have a great variety of frozen meals, foreign foods and other typical grocery items. Publix tends to be one of the pricier grocery stores but they have great sales and I always am more willing to pay a bit more when the service is there. My exception would be this locations deli. I have had several unpleasant experiences including the staff making sub 'being annoyed with doing so and the woman a couple weeks ago that gave us a hard time (I guess I can make it for you but then I would need to..." and scoffing the entire time) about asking for fried chicken with an hour and a half until the store closed. I understand that people sometime have bad days but I question if they ever have a good day in the deli. read more

Transitioning over from Seattle. I was a bit frantic of trying to find my usual grocery spot. In Seattle I went to QFC, here- I go to publix. This particular location on S. Kirkman has by far the most fantastic service out of all the public I've been too. I really enjoy the in store recipe cards and make it a game to create the recipes on those cards. And the best park is that they are free! :) It's extremely convenient for me, because I live extremely close to this Publix, nonetheless- I feel luck because it's been extremely a pleasant experience every time! First time was chicken that had expired the day before and the second time was ground turkey that expired the day before as well. Publix is a great supermarket as a whole but the location is just sad! When I arrived, an older guy was cat calling me while I was walking in as he was leaving. I ignored him and walked a little quicker just to see him come back into Publix! I went into the girl's wash room and asked girl leaving if the guy was still out looking for me and she said he's around. After about 5 minutes, I didn't see him so I went along and got a few things. During check out, I asked the bagger to walk me to my car and when we got my my car, he asked me for my phone number! I was just telling him about my situation because clearly, I only had one bag with Advil and gum so no, I didn't need him to help me. The whole thing was a mess. I later called to speak to the store manager and was on hold for about 4-6 minutes just to find out they weren't there. I work nearby so this is the most convenient Publix but now I have to wait to stop by a different Publix on my way home. What a shame! read more

Easily the worst Pulblix I've ever been to. Essentially every time I have gone in here the line takes twice the time at a normal Publix because everyone is using government money, and try to buy items they can't. There has not been a time I have been in here and have not gotten frustrated. It is truly a shame because the employees work hard, and there are a couple bad apple who work there. Also, one has to deal with all the tourists in the area walking into walls and crying hysterically because they have no idea where they are. This Publix used to be good 20 years ago. Today is easily the worst one in Orlando. Employees don't say hi neither offer any help like the other Publix. Do yourself a favor and drive to the one on Hiawassee Rd. Since Kirkman Rd area is getting all the low income families moving from up north thinking they are going to survive working in hospitality, the customers aren't the friendliest one. Not to mention that someone broke into my car twice. read more

They do not know how to accommodate for the large amount of customers that arrive daily. the lines are atrocious and there's no way they can't afford to have more cashiers open to serve everyone and keep the lines at a minimum of 5 min long. Usually have to wait at least 10 min on line. itDOES NOT make my shopping experience a pleasure. I will go out of my way to not shop at this store.
