What is it about these strangely laid-out Publix stores down south. I'm from Miami Lakes & up north, they're all laid out the SAME. I've already gotten the hang of this one though, & I am a fan. I haven't tried their cafe yet, but it always smells great when we run in. The check out has always been fast despite the fact I have never seen all the cashier stations manned. The wine selection is pretty good considering it's 1/3 the size of the wines at the Miami Lakes Publix (I must admit I am spoiled in that aspect) & I love that they have MANY sparkling wines! I haven't asked the butcher for something special yet, but it is bound to happen soon... The best part of the publix is that it is in walking distance, so I am sure I will have plenty more to say about it in the coming months! read more

In an area that offers a surprisingly lack of decent supermarkets, this is the best around. I dig the covered parking and the large wine selection. Plus the place appears clean and relatively new. I was so spoiled by Dallas-style suburban supermarkets ... I miss the massive, sprawling marts selling everything under the sun and offering amazing customer service. But I digress. In this area, I've seen nothing better - until you scope Fresh Market or Whole Foods, but heck, they don't sell Coke or Cheetos. The Public on 27th and Winn Dixie on 22nd are dingy and overpriced. I don't agree with the negative reviews of this Publix. I love it! Covered parking, attentive staff, fresh produce, fresh meats / seafood... I don't see a negative. Every other Publix in that area, specially the one 27th and Coral Way is always crowded, you parks miles away to then make long lines at registers. That's a waste of time for me. I rather go to this one.... park, get my groceries and out! And what's so wrong about the layout? It's different but you can get used to it. I guess, this is just "MY" Publix so I enjoy it. This store is an insult to Publix stores everywhere. The selection of produce is meager, the store is laid out in a counter-intuitive way, and the people who work here are not happy with their lives. I stopped shopping here after my fourth or fifth encounter with a rude store associate. On my last shopping trip here, they were out of stock of a particular flavor of yogurt that I wanted. I asked someone if they had any more in the back. He glanced at the shelf and turned to chat with a co-worker about something not work-related. After five minutes of being ignored, I confronted him about my yogurt. He said, "We don't have it on the shelf," and walked away. I spoke to the manager, who did nothing about it. This Publix needs to be shut.down. Just go to the one on LeJeune. read more

Ok let's get down to the nitty gritty: Dear beloved Publix: You are amongst the competition of your peers in this area. You've got your small, shady, viejito ridden Publix on Flager (near LeJeune). You got you upscale, small yet abundant Publix on LeJeune (north of Coral way), and then there's YOU. Your store AND your parking lot seem to be constructed as a what not to do in grocery store architecture and engineering class 101 - sure, props for the covered parking -but you gotta get wet to get to the covered parking. Error #2 - store design and layout - you walk in - always to a pleasant security guard and are almost forced to go right into the ya-tu-sabes cafe con leche y pastries counter. then you're hit with a nice sized and always packed deli. Again - props for the separate sandwich ordering area - and corded off line for sandwiches. Once you hit that area - you've realized that you passed a few aisles, because of the overwhelming action to your left. and then you start shopping from the left back to the right front. Now if we were in China - this would all make sense. But if you notice - in the US - we start on top front right to left. Sooooo - despite your lack of structural integrity, I still think you're a nice Publix - with a nice beer/wine selection, decent Publix quality - produce, seafood, meat, and sushi, and I will return :) I do like the fact that there is a stop light to exit that allows me to go either North or South out of the parking lot - even though it's a little sketchy getting to that light because there is no real indication of right-of-way leaving your premises. This Publix was excellent when they open,now is a dirty place only compare with the latin bodegas without cleaning or organization,the only diferent is the price. cafeteria is always dirty and the trash can full.Even the naptin are missing or wrong set up...when you ask for napkin say give you a paper towel fron the dispenser...with the answer "I',m here alone....... I already call head quater Publix...nothing happen I really sad because I live near and this market was my everyday store. Must of the line employee don't speak english...when you see a english speaking person we have to traslate....is so sad. they don't follow the publix standards read more

In my neighborhood, there are several Publix Supermarkets nearby. The Douglas Grand Publix is our family's preferred Publix. This Publix store has some covered parking, a large deli (including sandwich making), a bakery, and pharmacy, all conveniently laid out within a very spacious store. While I tend to visit the store during non-peak hours, it is usually not difficult to find a parking spot and the store is not unpleasantly overcrowded. I tried to return an item and there was one comatose woman moving at a snails pace starring at her register. I waited for ten minutes and then another woman waited on the customer ahead of me and then walked away from the register and started taking to her co-worker and never came back to her register. I waited ten more minutes hoping the comatose one would finish whatever she was doing but she didn't. I had bought the wrong item and I had the new one to exchange but after 25 minutes, went to a regular checkout register and just paid for the right item. It would be so much easier to exchange a purchase at the regular register. I think I will do my shopping at Molina from now on. At least they know the meaning of customer service. read more

This is by far one of my favorite Publix's to shop at. I have 3 that are surrounding me, but I try to frequent this one. It's always clean. They are always changing things in the store to make things more convenient for customers. I have yet to buy anything at this location that wasn't fresh. They have a Redbox at this location so that is definitely a plus. My only complaint is the awkward main entrance. Everytime I leave the parking lot it feels like I'm going off roading. I'm glad to be a resident of this area with such a great Publix nearby. Also doesn't get crazy crowded like other supermarkets in the area. read more

Been a daily customer of this Publix for quite a few years. Hubby had a problem with two managers there a few days ago, but after a phone call to Publix Corporate informing them of the situation, the store manager for this location quickly resolved the problem. Earlier today I Went to publix to buy some eggs and Cuban bread for breakfast, I got home and my wife cooked breakfast, we ate and maybe a hour I noticed I didn't have my phone. I started looking around the house I went to the car couldn't find it, I was calling my phone it kept ringing and ringing so I thought maybe JUST MAYBE some on turned it in because if it was stolen it would've been turned off and that's the end of that. So anyways I went back to publix asked a employee that was outside if he found a grey samsung phone he told me to go see customer service, so I went and I asked if someone turned in my cellphone, and there it was. I would want to thank Alejandro for returning my phone nowadays people are not like that anymore. read more

Like most other reviewers, I live in the area so always end up coming to this Publix because its so close. The staff is friendly, except if you have coupons...they always seem so suspicious of me. The aisles are narrow and I always have to back-track to find what I need. I recommend going later in the evening to avoid crowds. read more

This location is set up reverse from every other Publix so it can be confusing at times. I like the Publix on Lejune better.

Sadly, this is the worst Publix I have ever been to. I live in the building upstairs, so although it is extremely convenient, there are far too many drawbacks to continue to shop here. I've already lost count of how much money I have thrown away on bad produce, meat, and fish. Half of the perishables in there have already perished, and I'm not referring to the patrons. The staff is pleasant but of very little help, and obviously, you'd better be a spanish speaker, or bring some crayons and a note pad. Lastly, they often run out of basics: chicken, salad, etc. I'd rather drive a mile elsewhere, than walk downstairs and deal with this place. (And yes, I have compared the shelf life of the same items from other locations, and competitors.) read more

When this store opened I thought great but now I find it increasingly annoying to shop there. Nevermind that the prices are sky high, it is very difficult to find anyone who works at this Publix that speaks English. Case in point; two cans of tuna fish ring up for the wrong price and Nimble Brain the cashier cannot understand my English when I tell her it is the wrong price. I then go to the shelf (myself) and get the price and go back. By now Nimble Brain has put my items aside and is ringing the next person in line. I wait until she is finished and show her the correct price but Nimble Brain has no clue how to take the item off. Dumbass one of the Supervisors appears and may wonders never cease she speaks some English and takes the tuna fish off my bill. I assume she knows the Publix Promise policy and that I am supposed to get one of the item free; she doesn't and later I find I was charged the correct price for both cans. Not even worth trying to explain to these people. Second case in point; I was looking for beef liver for my sick dog. I went to the meat area and asked for beef liver. Sorry, no English spoken. Fortunately, I was with a Spanish speaking friend. More and more items I buy are not carried by this store. If this store was in Cuba it would be great because they have everything for the Latin clientele. On my last visit they did not have at least four items I wanted. Now I shop at the Winn Dixie on Coral Way where the prices are better, the staff speaks English, and the worst thing I can say about it is that check out is sometimes a pain. I am all for diversity but given this store's close proximity to Coral Gables the fact that they can't find English speaking employees or carry items that Americans want to buy baffles me. I decided to suspend my usual disdain for this Publix because I had a few items I had to pick up for my trip tomorrow. I grabbed five items and proceed to the express checkout line. As usual the cashier is talking to the cashier next to her and not even paying attention to me at all. My hello went unanswered. My smile was not reciprocated. No matter. she proceeds to ring me up. She places to my items in a bag, presses a few buttons on the cash register and continues her conversation with the cashier next to her. Three items are not in bags but she hands me my receipt anyway without even looking at me and carries on her conversation. I look at the side of her face for a few moments before bagging the rest of my groceries. So thank you cashier named Elsa for reminding me why I hate coming to this Publix. read more
