Eager for something new, I visited the new Publix supermarket across from The Fall Mall today. As a local, I had been waiting for this moment to see what this new store closer to home would offer me. I noticed that due to a parking issue, they had placed the merchandise on the second floor and it caught my attention that there were four elevators to access and descend with shopping carts. My opinion: very nice, but two things seemed wrong to me: the number of self-service cash registers and, most complicated, insufficient ways to go down with the merchandise. The waiting line was 12 people long and the elevators do not hold more than two or three carts, depending on the number of people with them. I found incredible that there had not been better planning and that they had not also added an electric ramp to lower the carts with merchandise. Very strange. read more

Been coming since I was a kid. Love this place specifically for their customer service. All Publix locations are great but this one hits home. I wouldn't come here if it wasn't for the outstanding one of a kid customer service Suzanne has given me for more than half my life. Today, ran into Kenney who 10/10 is one of the kindest people I've met this year. Didn't have to help me but he did when I know I was inconvenient. I acknowledge and respect this man. Really went above and beyond and I will not forget it. Heartbroken this Publix location will be closing temporarily to expand however I know I'll be back if Suzanne and Kenney are here. I highly recommend both for Managment not only for their infection happiness but their tolerance for stress and dedication to consistency. They are what I look for in any team I'm on. I love visiting this Publix. It's never packed with a lot of people, its always well stocked with items I need, staff is amazingly friendly especially in the pharmacy and deli/prepared foods department. If there's a item that's on sale and really isn't, they will honor your work and give it to you for the price advertised for. I'm so excited this Publix is up for renovations and I can't wait to see how it looks when it's finally done. I highly recommend shopping at this Publix across the Falls Shopping Center. read more

I've been going to this Publix location for 20 years now, and I live within walking distance on a nice day. I've often described this location as a glorified convenience store, as it is rather small and somewhat limited in its offerings. Since there are 2 other full size Publii (yes, that is the plural of "Publix") within 1 mile, that is not an issue for me. The reason for this review is for the pharmacy at the Briar Bay location. I read an article about how the drugstore chains are forcing the grocery store pharmacies to close, and thought about how upset I would be if this pharmacy location closed. The staff are as friendly and knowledgeable as they come, and not only do they help me out regularly but I see them doing the same for all their other customers. 20 years of stellar service, and I just had to call them out on this. As far as Publix goes, this is as average as you can get; which isn't necessarily bad, as you usually can find what you need. The staff is nice enough and helpful enough. It is at a strip mall across the street from The Falls, and it has a fair amount of parking spaces... there's more stuff around, but the only things I've paid any attention there are the bar (little hoolie's) and the Outback, but I never had a problem to find a spot on "Publix Schedule" (unlike sometimes at night, for Little Hoolies). I've only been in this Publix a few times, but so far, the lines for the cashier have never been an issue. read more

I come here when visiting some folks around here. This establishment has been around for years and it's like a family oriented store. Why did I give them five stars? Their amazing sandwiches and their care preparing it for you. I picked up a few sandwiches for the family and I was walked through the types and what to put in them and how much not to kill their taste. My favorites: their chicken tender and their seasonal turkey with cranberry sauce. Tip: instead of adding non-sense lettuce, I recommend spinach. They crumble it, cut it and spread it nicely. By the way, they put the cheese in the bottom of the sandwich, and on the top. So don't be surprised if they cut the portion of cheese in half. It's going in lol read more

This is not a very large Publix, but then again, it's meant to be more of a neighborhood Publix, as it serves the residents of the Briar Bay area. Parking can be a bit problematic only because this Publix shares the strip plaza with Little Hoolie's, Outback Steakhouse, a bank, an Italian restaurant, and several other businesses. Since it's a smaller, more community-oriented Publix, the employees tend to be friendlier, and some may even recall regulars. Despite being a somewhat small store, it was nice to see multiple registers open. There were plenty of bag boys on staff, despite the fact I came late on a Monday night that happened to also be a federal holiday. The cashier was quick and friendly and asked me if I wanted items double bagged or not. I assume this store is a madhouse around 6, but if you go an hour or so before closing time, then you would probably be fine when it comes to navigating the aisles quickly and finding parking. It's especially convenient if you live around the area and need to pick something up. For those looking for a larger Publix and don't mind driving, the Publix on 146th Street is a much better bet. read more

Compared to all other supermarkets, it probably deserves 3 stars. I gave it 2 stars, because I am comparing it only to other Publixs. I expect more from a Publix. 1) It is too small. Which means, less choices and more crowded. 2) The parking lot is too small. 3) It is on the wrong side of US1 and so a pain in the #@* to get to. You can't use the word convenient when referring to anything you have to cross US1 to get to. Especially the part of US1 that has that ridiculous bus lane. What is with the no right turns on red? My advice, go to the big brown Publix on US1 between SW 144 St & SW 152 St. read more

This is the second worse publix I know. Small is the key word for this store. The building is small which means less selection and over crowded. The parking lot is small, which we all know is always fun with you are dealing with Miamians in a rush. (Shocked there aren't more fender benders) The produce selection is horribly limited, and not the freshest. The meat... is okay. Really if you need to go to Publix and live in this area take the extra 10 minutes and go to the one across from Dadeland, it is excellent. read more

Here's the problem with this Publix: too many people. The parking lot, and even the store itself is not big enough to handle the number of people trying to go there. Why are so many people trying to go to this one Publix? Probably because it's the closest one to them. Just another symptom of Miami's poor urban design. That said, I'd like to actually bitch about something different. This Publix does a decent job of trying to meet the needs of their specific customers, they seem to have a few fancier or harder to find items that more affluent customers like to buy. Good for them. Now how about some employees to go along with that? Like someone who understands there is a different kinds of whole chickens. When I'm looking for a broiler/fryer, a roaster won't do. My bigger complaint isn't that the employee I dealt with didn't understand the difference, but actively tried to mislead me into buying the wrong product because that's all they had. Never had an issue here in 20 years of coming to this grocery store. The cashier register employees are beyond courteous, kind, and helpful. Also the subs they make are amazing. I have had friends from out of town never been to a public & tell me how much they love Publix because of the great meat and seafood selection quality . I enjoy the BOGO deals and there's usually good promotions. I value that Publix takes the safety of everyone in the stores seriously because whenever I enter a Publix I usually see a police officer and its reassuring. read more

I've been coming here for years. It seems to be getting worse since the new larger publix opened up across US1. I order many subs online and they get it wrong about 70% of the time. They don't even bother to call if there is a problem with your order. Same issue with the pharmacy, automatic renewals don't work at this publix. Its time to change my home publix. read more

I have been frequenting this Publix for 10 years now, this place used to have the friendliest staff and the quickest service at the deli. They have definitely downsized on their inventory and don't offer all of the products that I used to purchase here, but I understand that that's a corporate decision based on what sells. As far as the deli, I used to order online here and come in and my deli order would be ready for me. But I stopped ordering from their deli due to the fact they seem not to Pay attention to my order until I walk in and ask for it and then suddenly my orders coming up next. I purposely don't come in until 15 minutes after my ready time in order to give them sufficient time because we all know things happen that can cause delays, yet my simple order has yet to be addressed. This was not a one time incident this was about 6 times that I had this issue, and it was every time. This is something new in the last 7-8 months that I don't understand. Also the staff are not as friendly as they used to be (granted a lot of the staff is brand-new, but that's no excuse). I work in the service industry therefore I know The difference between good service and indifferent service. I guess it's the new management that is failing to keep everything in check. I would seriously like them to step up their game so that I can continue frequenting my go to grocery store that's literally one block from my apartment. It's not like I don't have other choices in the immediate area. It's sad because I used to come here literally 4-6 times a week so that I could buy things fresh for dinner. I pop into this Publix from time to time on my way home from work. I ordered lunch meat for pick up last week and arrived a little after the pick up time. There were no orders in the pick up bin. There was a line, so I pulled a number and waited. My number was called and I advised I placed an online order for pick up. The gentleman walks over to a printer and picks up a stack of orders. He said he didn't have a chance and would do it then. I said ok, and continued to shop for 15 minutes. I came back around, and looked in the pick up bin again. There was an order in there, but it was not mine. I was upset and went and go the manager. I think he may have been the customer service manager or something but, he walked over to the deli and I followed and explained the situation. As he was walking to the deli he was mumbling something under his breath. I guess he was upset because I am telling you your deli slacking off. I see him go behind the deli and talk to the guy working behind the counter. I ended up just walking out of the store. This place needs some major work. Starting with the managers. No customer service. No neighborhood feel. Lost my business. read more
