Publix at Keys Plaza in Key West has four self checkouts but places no limits on the number of items, so sometimes there will be three stations being used by people with overflowing carts, and there will be open regular checkouts. Makes you wonder if there are some items not rung up? read more

This is my favorite Publix. Parking is small, but the customer service makes it worth it. The sushi was amazing and fresh. The store manager himself even came out to greet us and he was so professional and polite. Shopping was really a pleasure. read more

The slowest employees. They don't even look up to greet you when you go to checkout. Check stands are oftentimes broken. Nowhere to return carts so the lot is covered in carts. The list goes on. Produce is low quality, store is dirty. Most of all the employees are just rude. read more

I'm posting an updated review of this Publix location more than 11 years after I first rated it, and giving huge kudos, as they recently installed 6 self-serve checkout registers at this store! While I realize not everyone's a fan, I personally like self-checkouts and use them whenever possible at Home Depot and other stores, as I find them efficient, the lines move faster than at standard checkouts, and I can quickly scan my items, toss them into the adjacent bags, swipe my card and go. Thank you, Publix for taking the initiative to install these! The checkout lines at this particular store were known to sometimes be long. Hopefully the ability to scan and bag one's own items, especially for people who only have a few things to buy, will help alleviate that problem. Now if this Publix would just stop rearranging the store every several months (and each time seemingly decreasing the amount of products they offer) so I could actually find what I need when shopping here, we'd be good! read more

I received phenomenal customer service at this location. I saw bresaola (an Italian cured beef) was sold @4.49 per container which is a great price, so I stacked up on it only to realize at the cashier that the item had been misprized. I pointed it out and was ready to simply return it as I didn't want to pay over $80 for so much bresaola. But the manager gave it to me at the mistaken displayed price!! I was very pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately I didn't get the manager name because she would deserve to be mentioned. Ultimately it comes down to people. Publix clearly promotes very customer service oriented people. They have my loyalty forever. read more

I was disgusted by tonight's manger and his security guard. I ran in about ten minutes before closing to grab a few things for dinner and the security guard was standing outside without a mask on. To make it worse he was conversing with a manger. I plan to go back tomorrow to get their names and file a formal complaint with Publix headquarters. It's unacceptable that during a global pandemic our grocery store workers aren't practicing basic social distancing rules. Do better. read more

Really disappointed....after placing an order for a one year old birthday party we arrived to pick up order, several items were missing including the smash cake for the one year old. Nobody even bother to make it even though it was included at the time of the order. A replacement cake was offered but now that didn't match the bigger cake....oh it has the same colors....still didn't match. As the night and party progressed we cut the birthday cake and there was our second surprise, not what we ordered, obviously is kind of hard to know until you cut the cake. Whomever took the order, Executed the order didn't really care, they didn't bother to read what was written they just gave me whatever they want it after all how are we going to know until is too late. Time to move on from publix and have someone else that cares do our orders after all you are only 1 once. They should be ashamed!!! read more

THE GREEN KNIFE Publix is a grocery store. People need food and they come here to get that food. When my wife and I lived in Coral Gables, the house we were renting was furnished but had the worse knives ever. I couldn't even cut my finger or an onion if I tried. So one day, while shopping for our groceries, we saw a green knife hanging on the shelf here at Publix. We decided to buy it to make our food preping easier. That was 9 years ago and we still have that green knife. Yes...when we came back to Chicago, we took the green knife with us. The sad part is that knife still cuts like a trooper. Sometimes when we are both cooking there is a mad dash for the green knife. It is really our favorite. So Publix can be a lot more then just food. When you least expect it you could find something else that is equally important. This green knife is going to be in our lives forever, as long as it keeps cutting. I must agree with Paul W - it is apparent that some of the reviews written about this Publix might be for the wrong location. For me it is a solid lunch stop since I am frequently in this area during lunch time. Now as for Publix go, this one is OK, well lit and properly stocked and contrary to popular belief, there is ample parking around this store, at least at the times I stop by here which is usually early weekday afternoons. read more

I love the deli here! I never wait long to be attended and they always make my wraps quick and jam packed with the veggies I ask for. My new go to now that I found them. This Publix unfortunately doesn't hold up to Publix standards especially in the Deli. When I arrived an hour before store closing to get a Pub Sub for dinner the deli counter was already packed away. The staff seemed to be annoyed with my order and stated they didn't have items that I wanted on my sub. Where shopping is my pleasure. People talk about how they have neighborhood grocery stores and how big chains are bad news. Well I have to say even though Publix is a big brand that doesn't mean they don't act like a small corner store. I have been shopping here for over 6 years and so many of the same people work here and always greet with a smile and ask how they can help. Love the store hours and that this Publix is so clean and always fully stocked. I really consider that this publix store lay on their concept! Shopping is a pleasure, their staff is very friendly, you can find what you were looking for 90% of the time, it's an small store of the chain but very well stocked. The fast lane always work as fast lanes, they restock fast their products and if you can't find something you can ask the staff and they go for it in the back if they have it, i love that! I also have used the money transfer service, deli station, fresh fish market station, they do a great job. The only nightmare of this location is the lack of parking, specially between 5-8pm on weekdays. But overall services that they offer this is a convenience store on Coral Way! read more

This Publix is the closest one to me since having moved a few months ago... but I must say, this Publix is BY FAR one of the WORST ones I have EVER been to. Maybe I'm spoiled with having gone to the Publix on SW 120 Street in Kendall and the one on US1 & 146 Street in Palmetto Bay. I love grocery shopping. I can take my time and easily spend a while going through the aisles. I have been known to do that in the past. But let me tell you... This Publix is just impossible! And its a huge frustration. Finding parking is a pain and getting through the aisles is a pain. It's a total clusterf**k. An EPIC FAIL. Shopping is NOT a pleasure here. I could no longer take shopping there anymore that I now drive a lil' further to the Coral Gables Publix where I can keep my sanity and shop in peace. read more

Hardly my favorite Publix, but it serves its purpose, I guess - this is my go-to when I'm at work and have a craving for some fresh berries. It seems like they are always running a sale on something in the produce department, so it's a decent place for grabbing a quick healthy snack. The employees are generally pretty quick and efficient, but I can't always say the same for the customers, many of whom act as if they are paying for groceries for the first time in their lives. The front parking lot is usually in various stages of disorder, as you have a bunch of rather slow people ambling around, taking forever to pack their cars with groceries, then sitting around waiting for God to rapture them out of their parking spaces or something. I don't know. Move your asses, people. If the front parking lot looks scary, head around back and you *should* find parking, unless it's super-peak shopping time. If it's super-peak shopping time, I'd probably be inclined to find another market. read more

Wow, I am not understanding the constant mentions of a parking struggle. I arrived around 6:30-7:00 and seamlessly pulled into the first spot on the rightmost side of the parking lot, a few steps from the door. You want a parking struggle? Try Trader Joe's by Dadeland or an ordinary day of trying to street park in downtown Miami or South Beach. I came upon this Publix only because I was buying gas in the area and figured I might as well take advantage of the fact that I was close to a Publix and just get my groceries. The first thing I noticed were the odd people loitering around in the parking lot, staring at me as if I had just done something awful. I checked my parking job -- within the lines, my clothes were in place, nothing seemed amiss, so I ignored them. I came to buy a rotisserie chicken for dinner for the week and found plenty of them. Usually, I am lucky if I find 3 or more at other Publix locations, so this was a welcomed change, and they were fresh. The Publix was a decent size, and aisles were easy to navigate. There were plenty of registers open, unlike Wal-Mart which is famous for the opposite. Within 10 minutes, I was back outside...and again dealing with the weird zombies outside that kept staring at me. I still cannot figure out what they were looking at. Save for that odd experience, everything else was fine. I'd come back if within the area, and just ignore the odd people in the parking lot, and advise you to do the same if you have this type of encounter. read more

This is just your everyday Publix, nothing fancy. I come here about twice a week on my way home from work since it is on my route. The staff are friendly and the butcher helped me find a cut of meat I did not see out displayed. It's not the biggest Publix, but they have a small deli and coffee area. Bring some patients for the parking lot though! The lot is small in front of the store and the side parking is pretty far away from the one entrance. read more

Man who run in front of car get tired! Wow this Publix is a zoo! With all 20 parking spaces that they provide you'll likely end up grocery shopping with your car parked at a meeter and by experience they do come by quick to give you a ticket. This is my closest Publix so I end up here more often then I'd like. It's always over crowded with grumpy customers who will run you over with their shopping cart. Tips if you have to use this Publix: Come only for what you need and know where it is. Never hesitate to ponder weather or not you need something unless you have shopping cart resistant shoes on. The only reason I've ever ventured to this sorry excuse of a Publix is because it is quite literally across the street from where I work. The parking situation is HORRIBLE, It always takes forever to find a space. And no, its not because the place is packed.. its because there is simply a lack of parking. Inside is all cramped up.. not like other Publix's where there is plenty of space to maneuver your cart. It seems like I'm always trying to squeeze between people no matter what department I'm in. If it werent for the proximity factor I would never come here, as it is my absolute last resort. Such a shame since I frequent the Publix closer to my apartment. That location is a dream. read more

I grew up with Publix. Publix has always been five-star. At least the locations that my family and friends frequented (Miller Square and Town & Country). But my parents moved. And now I find myself searching for frozen artichokes in like a Little Havana Publix. Yeah, it's true! I couldn't find the artichokes. The Saturday Sample Man advised me on canned artichokes. But the Publix Manager was nice enough to help me find the frozen artichokes. They must still pride themselves on excellent customer service. But besides that gesture of friendliness....... the bakery..... the deli.... the screaming..... the immediate headache. The place is too Cuban for me to handle. And it seemed cluttered. Whenever I'm out of town, I always go to the local supermarkets. Why you ask? 1. I'm a mom. Snacks and bare essentials are necessary. 2. I'm a foodie. I want to see what people are eating in different parts of the world. 3. I'm just damn nosey. I want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Publix... for those not from the east coast, this is a supermarket chain similar to our Ralphs or Vons on the west coast. So, this particular location was crowded and chaotic. I didn't happen to notice a blue light special or hear an announcement " SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY... MONSTER TRUCKS CRASH INTO EACH OTHER" Whatever, I push my way through the isles looking for Organic cheese puffs. I didn't find them but I did find a boat load of Spanish labels of products we're used to seeing in English. I had to laugh out loud when my daughter asks "mom, why is everyone speaking Spanish around hear?" She so cute. Well, I found some essentials and lots of Latin products. Gladys, my cashier was extremely chatty especially after I asked her to take of the $12 issue of People magazine. She just had a full on conversation with me about the "then and now" issue and how thick it was yadda yadda yadda. Unfortunately until they put one in the Grove (if they ever) this is the closest one to me. At times I'd rather pay a little more and go to Milam's. Either go early (before 10am) or don't go at all. I had to get some groceries so I put Publix into my gps and this was the closest on the way to my place. When I got there there were parking spots available but most were littered with shopping carts. I'm so used to the lot attendants at other Publix stores that pretty much snatch the cart from you as soon as you empty it. From the outside it looks like a Publix but inside it feels like an imitation of one. It looks clean but every now and then I'd stumble into a strange smell in one of the aisles. The beer aisle was the worst with a smell of urine. The space in the store kind of feels cramped and made it difficult to navigate aisles when there was more than one person with a cart in the area. It also tends to be an issue when staff are stocking the shelves. After navigating the store I managed to get everything I needed except for the hot dog bread. I checked the bakery area but just couldn't find it. I asked two employees who didn't know but finally a third did point me in the right direction. He sent me back towards the bakery area and told me the bread was right next to the cashiers. It indeed was but I can see how I overlooked it. The breads were hidden away right next to the birthday cards and magazines. Last place I'd think of placing a bread section but I guess it's understandable due to the lack of space they already seem to have. I won't be revisiting this Publix even though it is close to my place. I'd much rather drive a little more to one of the better Publix stores. read more

I am very sad this place has such bad reviews. I've actually been a regular since I can remember! I was there when they were reconstructing the whole store. I have never really realized how great this store was until I went to a Winn Dixie. This publix has a lot of room to roam around with your cart, Winn Dixie is rather crowded and even the check out is too small. The Employees are awesome! Well, at least the guys are lol some of the women there can be a bit grumpy. So, I started baking and I had no clue of what any of the ingredients were or what they looked like and I asked for help from this one guy and he pretty much picked up everything on my list! Parking is hard sometimes but then again I always park right in front of the store. There is this tiny parking spot where you are not suppose to park there but i do it anyways. I think I may be part of a Yelp conspiracy! Every time I want to give a place 5 stars, it always seems to be slaughtered by negative reviews. I don't know why, but it may be because I am a positive thinker and always see the bright side of things, but I just wanted to share that. Irony! * * * Anyways, I feel this Publix is completely phenomenal. I currently work at the United Way building located off Coral Way, so when I found out there was a Publix nearby, I could not help but smile. First and foremost, the hot food section is always well stocked. At every Publix I have been to so far, there are usually two displays of hot foods. At this specific Publix, there are not two, but THREE displays which contain fully stocked bins of fried chicken, veggies, and rotisserie chicken. Completely fresh and completely delicious! The only thing negative thing I can say about this place is that the parking spaces are situated very awkwardly. The parking lanes are short-- shorter than I have seen elsewhere. I have not tried grocery shopping here yet, but the hot food section definitely deserves 5 stars. Also, when my friend ordered a hot customized sub, the sandwich lady made sure everything was prepared to her liking to the tee. The Publix workers at the sandwich section should serve as role models for outstanding service for everyone who works in the sandwich industry! (Not sure of the exactly Publix location but I'll pick this one.) Ok, Publix in Miami is way different than in the other cities in Florida. I've never seen such chaos in a grocery story and I used to work for one when I was a zit-infested teenager. First of all, it feels like you're in an ant colony. Soooooo many people! Secondly, items are placed randomly and therefore, makes no sense at all. My friend and I were looking for sodas and just could not find them. I asked an employee there and he directed me to an aisle. Lord, save me! The sodas were located in the 'Feminine Hygiene' aisle. Who would have guessed that?!?!? Publix either needs to rearrange their items or list more items in their displays hanging off the ceiling. The lines weren't too bad. Publix gets an extra star because the cashier was able to accept 2 different debit cards on a single bill. Most grocery stores would not allow you to do that. read more

It took my bf and I 3 days to finally find this place... you don't see many supermarkets in Florida for the amount of people they have... This Publix was located behind a construction site within a shopping center... people kept on telling us it's there right over there you cant miss it..their lack of directions made the quest for finding it forever. Anyhow when we finally got there we were so happy! So, the stuff inside was okay a little pricey but not bad. The thing that surprised me was that the liquor was sold in a seperate area...which was attached to the outside of the supermarket. So this is the only close supermarket we have so beggars can't be choosers. read more
