A grocery receipt from ALDI in Miami displays items like cookies, pizza, bread, vegetables, and dairy, with prices and categories.

In these times when grocery prices have become absurd, I decided to seek out more economical options. It was my first time shopping at an Aldi, although from word of mouth I was familiar with certain things. First, you pay .25 cents to rent a shopping cart, but you get it back when you return the cart. Second, they do not provide bags for your purchases, so come prepared with your own. Also, the food is displayed in the boxing that it is shipped in. No fancy displays here. All of these are ways that Aldi helps keep their labor costs low, so that they can pass those low costs on to their patrons. I'm here for it!! Aldi does not carry nearly the wide variety as Publix or Winn Dixie, but they do offer many of the most important basics. Milk, butter, eggs, cheese, meat, chicken, and fish, lots of fresh produce and more. As for value, to give you some price comparisons - milk was $3.20 compared to $4.95, blueberries $2.50 compared to $3.99, gold potatoes $3.79 compared to $6.99, and dry cat food $3.99 compared to $5.50. Yes. The savings was real. I decided to buy some of their private brand products and hopefully they will be comparable in quality to name brand. If not, Aldi does offer their "Twice as Nice" guarantee where they will refund you the money AND provide you a replacement. I also found some great deals on Halloween candy, so I stocked up on that. Overall, I am very happy with my experience. It was not overly crowded, check out was quick, and the savings was definitely something worthwhile. I will be back! :)

This is the new ALDI in my neighborhood. This particular store is in the same spot that Ashley Furniture was in. I'm really happy that they are in this specific area since this is an area that I frequently visit. Some of the things that I really enjoy buying at ALDI is their fresh organic produce and selection of cheeses. I never leave without taking with me an abundance of greens, tomatoes and fruits.

If you're heading south toward the Everglades or anywhere near Everglades City, a stop at Robert Is…read moreHere is absolutely non-negotiable. This iconic fruit stand is a true South Florida institution. From the moment you pull in, it feels like stepping into a charming, old-school roadside market bursting with color and character. Crates overflow with vibrant tropical fruits, the air smells sweet and fresh, and the whole place has that nostalgic, family-run charm you just don't find everywhere anymore. The mamey milkshake is my go-to and hands down my favorite. It's unbelievably thick, creamy, and packed with rich tropical flavor. One sip and you'll understand why it's legendary. Beyond the milkshakes, they carry incredible local honey, homemade sauces, unique jams, fresh shallots, beautiful vegetables, and perfectly ripe fruits. The exotic fruit selection alone is worth the trip. you'll discover varieties you didn't even know existed. What makes it even more special is that Robert himself is often there, still working and interacting with customers. It adds such a personal touch. Everyone on staff is genuinely kind, welcoming, and happy to answer questions or offer recommendations. Don't skip the back area, there's a small petting zoo where you can buy feed and interact with the animals, which makes it a fun stop for families and kids. It's more than just a fruit stand . it's an experience. A must-visit South Florida classic.

Robberies Are Here is more like it…read more We stopped at Robert Is Here for what should have been a fun family experience. Instead, we left with a smashed rental car window, 1,500 dollars in stolen valuables, and a ruined vacation. Our car was broken into while parked directly in front of the property -- in plain sight. We weren't even there for 15 minutes. When we asked about security camera footage that might help identify who did this, we were told the cameras don't work. Let that sink in. A high-traffic tourist destination with non-functional security cameras and apparently zero deterrent for criminals who clearly know this area is an easy target. This isn't a random isolated incident -- this is a known problem and the owners have done nothing meaningful to protect their customers. Working cameras, security presence, adequate signage warning visitors of the risk -- none of it. Just a cute fruit stand with a dangerous parking lot and zero accountability. (To be fair, the employees seemed remorseful, and gave us some trash bags and tape to cover the window.) Save yourself. Buy your fruit somewhere else. No smoothie is worth what this visit cost us.

99 Cent Farmer's Market - Pompano…read more What an unexpected gem! The 99 Cent Farmer's Market in Pompano blew me away with its gorgeous fruit selection, super fresh herbs, and all kinds of miscellaneous goodies -- all at unbelievably low prices. Everything was vibrant, fresh, and far higher quality than you'd ever expect for 99 cents. They even have great snack boxes that are perfect for on-the-go. And as a sweet surprise, we were given a free pumpkin on our way out! The staff made the experience even better. Everyone was warm and friendly, and I have to give a special shout-out to Angelina, our wonderfully helpful cashier, and Anissa -- The Juice Spot Queen -- who absolutely lives up to the title. If you haven't checked out this place yet, you're missing out. Highly recommended! PS Don't forget to bring your own shopping bags!

Average quality, high prices. Their old location was bomb and this one is a dud…read more In my humble opinion, the pompano store rocked. 80% of their items were fair priced and 20% were great bargains! They always encouraged me to come back, and I did. Quality is OK day-of. Most of it needs to be eaten quickly. For instance their watermelon or mangoes wont be good after a week. That's fine but $5.99/small melon or $1/mango are almost as bad as publix. Not quite but almost. Where's the deals? If its expensive, Where's the high quality? I respect their game and wish them luck but sadly its a closed chapter for me. Its not that im not going to return out of spite, but I wont be returning simply because there's no point to. Theres no deals or anything amazing anymore. Best of luck

This family owned farmers market is in it's own small building. It was very interesting to me because this is the first place I found that sells raw milk. It is not something I personally drink but advocates claim that the pasteurization of milk destroys the nutrients, enzymes, and good bacteria. Benefits of raw milk may include more nutrients, improved digestion, and enhanced immune function. Others believe that the benefits are outweighed by health risks associated with consuming raw dairy products. The raw products sold here state they are not for human consumption. In addition to raw milk they also sell raw milk kefir, raw yogurt, raw cheese, raw butter, and raw milk ice cream. Other products they sell include organic produce grown in Southwest Ranches, local honey, hormone free and grass fed meat and seafood, farm fresh eggs, bath and beauty products, bread, and fresh made key lime pies. Staff was on hand to helpfully answer customers questions. I do believe that food is medicine and that it can heal you. This market subscribes to that philosophy. It is a niche for people who don't mind paying more to know where there food comes from, want clean ingredients, or are into a particular lifestyle choice. If you are looking for a large selection or inexpensive prices, this is probably not for you but I enjoyed my visit.
