This stop outside Homestead, FL is not too far from Everglades National Park. This is actually the second time we have been here, with the first time in 2014. The milkshakes were so memorable that we had to stop again! I loved my strawberry key lime flavor. It's made with fresh fruit and you are allowed up to three different fruits. After that, there will be additional fees. They have lots to choose from and the portion sizes are pretty large. There is also a market, where you can find lots of produce, souvenirs and gifts. A petting zoo is out back with birds, emus, turtles, goats, etc. The animals look a little dirty. I know they are outside but I kind of wonder about their care. Hopefully they are taken care of ok. Instead, we left with a smashed rental car window, 1,500 dollars in stolen valuables, and a ruined vacation. Our car was broken into while parked directly in front of the property -- in plain sight. We weren't even there for 15 minutes. When we asked about security camera footage that might help identify who did this, we were told the cameras don't work. Let that sink in. A high-traffic tourist destination with non-functional security cameras and apparently zero deterrent for criminals who clearly know this area is an easy target. This isn't a random isolated incident -- this is a known problem and the owners have done nothing meaningful to protect their customers. Working cameras, security presence, adequate signage warning visitors of the risk -- none of it. Just a cute fruit stand with a dangerous parking lot and zero accountability. (To be fair, the employees seemed remorseful, and gave us some trash bags and tape to cover the window.) Save yourself. Buy your fruit somewhere else. This enormous fruit stand is stocked with exotic fresh local fruits: 1. As the largest tropical fruit that grows on trees, a single Jackfruit can weigh up to 80 lbs. The skin resembles a green sea urchin, and inside is a soft orange fruit featuring a pineapple-vanilla flavor. 2. Guanabana has a similar green prickly skin as the jackfruit. When the fruit is ripe, the skin is extremely soft and can be opened with your hands. Robert says the pockets of fruit you'll find inside taste like "pineapple cotton candy." 3. Dragon fruit has a bright pink skin protecting white fruit inside, which has small black seeds. It tastes like a blend of raspberry, strawberry & kiwi. We waited on a long long line for fresh fruit, milkshakes and smoothies. We bought all kinds of fruit, vegetables and exotic fruits to try. I was disappointed they used to have samples so we could have a little taste of exotic fruits before we purchase them. The fruits and fruit drinks have become significantly more expensive than they were the last time we were here. There are about 30 different varieties of honey and we can't sample those either. I couldn't resist buying some homemade jams from passionfruit and Guanabanas. If I could taste some of the fruit, I would be more eager to purchase. NIce place to spend either the morning or afternoon with the kiddos. We went in the afternoon straight to buy lettuce and feed the cows goats and turtles. The kids had a blast. There were long line for the smoothie and milkshake, $10 each, it's pricey and the quality was not consistent, I had the seasonal jackfruit smoothie, it was awful, I throw it away after 1-2 sips. I stopped by this fruit stand on the way to the Keys. I loved roaming around and seeing all the different types of fruit. Robert was so friendly and picked out the ripest sapotes for me. I ended up buying 5 pounds of them! I also got the famous guanabana milkshake. Despite it being called soursop the milkshake was sweet and not sour at all. I highly recommend it! It's got a cool little animal petting area in the back and areas to sit with some food trucks as well. The passion fruit and orange one was the best of the two, the guanabana one was a little weird. The sugar cane juice fell flat too. The biggest let down was the fruit we bought. This was one of our stops as we were driving to the keys in FL. Really big and popular touristy stop - they have snacks, fruit, and other dry goods that would make great gifts, like honey. They also have a farm where you can see some goats, tortoises, and even an emu! It was fun to see lots of different exotic fruits like passionfruit, guava, starfruit, etc. and we got a couple to try. They are quite pricey though, one passionfruit cost us about $6. We also got a smoothie from the stand inside - they have lots of different fruit combos or you can build your own with 3 fruits. They also make shakes on site and had a Mexican food truck out back. The property is large with rescued birds and animals, some exotic and some of the barnyard variety. We were already down in Homestead and only 10 minutes away so we said "Why not?" and headed over to Robert Is Here. This place is pretty famous in South Florida but we met some people who came down to visit from NYC! The inside is basically just a fruit market, albeit with some pretty exotic offerings on hand. We grabbed a few! They also sell a huge variety of fruit flavored smoothies and milk shakes too. Spensyr got passion fruit while I opted for guanabana. We also decided to split a Cuban sandwich for lunch and it was the saddest, blandest, not at all toasted and barely pressed Cubano ever. Out back is a huge pen full of rescued animals you can pay to feed, nothing looked especially healthy, but the goats and cows were hungry enough to come over to the fence. This is a great stop on the road between Miami and the Keys - we came here in January 2025, finding it by accident on our drive towards the Everglades, although we had seen it on YouTube a few times. The produce here is beautiful and exotic - fruits and vegetables never heard of - and varieties of those you know on an epic scale. The Monroe avocados in particular were mind boggling for their sheer size. We grabbed some tasty smoothies and checked out their petting zoo, which is a beautifully done animal shelter containing iguanas, goats, turtles, birds, and other critters. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they are happy to prep your produce for immediate consumption if you like. They also prepare a good number of juices made from their inventory. I absolutely loved my time here. I did not think I would spend close to two hours at a fruit stand, but I did. First, there is plenty of parking along the sides of the place and people are constantly coming in and out so be patient if it's all full. Next, I loved the variety of fruit they had along with the signs that tell you about it and when it is ripe. I would say I was familiar with about 80% of their inventory and tried to buy some of the ones I had never had. I did like that for some of the larger fruits they sold it by pieces, which made me more likely to buy it. They will peel / cut up the fruit for you at the register, right in front of you. In total we spent $28 which was a bit expensive BUT, it was all worth it when he got to the animals because basically - you get a free trip to the zoo. The birds were fascinating, and they all had very unique personalities, some even talked. They has lots of tortoises, chickens running around everywhere, emu, ducks, and so many more. This was a fun little stop on our way home from Key Largo to grab some goodies and try their infamous smoothie / milkshakes. I know Robert is Here is a popular local tradition, but it was not what I expected as an out of town tourist. There is a great selection of unique fruits and other oddities to purchase in the food stand. The famous milkshakes and smoothies were good, but $10 seemed unreasonable. It also took close to 15 minutes to get our milkshakes. After that, the fruit stand explodes into a little bit of everything. You can find live music, a taco truck, a barbecue stand, an antiques seller, and a coffee shop. You can also find tons of different animals- tortoises, emus, Guinea fowl, cows, goats, turkeys, geese, and chickens, some of which run free. You may start with a line to order your smoothie or milkshake and it is so worth it. While my son got Oreo and my wife got blueberry and strawberry I decided to try a tropical fruit I can't get at home - black sapote. The fruit tasted like chocolate pudding - wow! While waiting for our shakes we checked out the rescue animals and birds - it's amazing how many animals are here. It's outdoorsy and a bit rustic but in addition to the animals there are occasional concerts and food trucks. But don't skip the fruit stand - it is full of tropical fruit! Robert was on site and he was happy to offer us some ripe mango. I've never seen one that big and it's never tasted that good - a little juicy and sweet but not tart. Maybe if you've never seen these fruits before, you'll be amazed but for me, this looks to be a giant tourist trap. Sure, there's jackfruit, avocado, coconuts, dragonfruit and different kinds of mangos, but it's not like it's the first time I've seen these. I see them every week in my grocery runs. The mangos look ripe and juicy and they cut it for you but it's pricey. I stood in line with a couple of mangoes to cut and buy but the line went so slow. I recently visited Robert Is Here Fruit Stand & Farm, and overall it was a very unique and fun experience. The service was excellent -- the staff were friendly and welcoming -- and you can find a wide variety of seasonal fruits as well as eggs from different bird species. One of the highlights was the farm area in the back, which I highly recommend checking out. It was a lot of fun to see a goat standing on top of a tortoise, along with plenty of chickens, parrots, and even adorable miniature cows. It's definitely a great place to visit with family. Free parking is another plus. That being said, I do feel the prices are way too high. For example, paying $10 for a regular mango and $15 for a slightly more exotic one just doesn't feel reasonable. My boyfriend spent around $150 and I spent $170 -- and in the end, it was only two bags of fruit. While the quality is good and they do have exotic varieties you don't usually find elsewhere, I honestly believe you can get the same or even better fruit at a lower price in other spots around Homestead, or even at places like Whole Foods. So here's my honest take: if you don't mind paying premium prices and want to explore exotic fruits you won't easily find elsewhere, then yes, it's worth it and I do recommend it. Personally, I'll probably go back when I specifically want to try something rare and different. But because of the prices, I would rate the experience 70 out of 100.
