So I drove all the way here knowing I was in for an adventure. I wanted a farm stand or market. While they had a tiny bit of veggies, they had about 20% fruit and 75% mangoes. Disappointed. I decided I might as well get a shake since the line was long- I got the Mamey milkshake since I never had Mamey before. It is good. I really can't describe it- not sweet. Creamy. This stop outside Homestead, FL is not too far from Everglades National Park. This is actually the second time we have been here, with the first time in 2014. The milkshakes were so memorable that we had to stop again! I loved my strawberry key lime flavor. It's made with fresh fruit and you are allowed up to three different fruits. After that, there will be additional fees. They have lots to choose from and the portion sizes are pretty large. There is also a market, where you can find lots of produce, souvenirs and gifts. A petting zoo is out back with birds, emus, turtles, goats, etc. The animals look a little dirty. I know they are outside but I kind of wonder about their care. Hopefully they are taken care of ok. Instead, we left with a smashed rental car window, 1,500 dollars in stolen valuables, and a ruined vacation. Our car was broken into while parked directly in front of the property -- in plain sight. We weren't even there for 15 minutes. When we asked about security camera footage that might help identify who did this, we were told the cameras don't work. Let that sink in. A high-traffic tourist destination with non-functional security cameras and apparently zero deterrent for criminals who clearly know this area is an easy target. This isn't a random isolated incident -- this is a known problem and the owners have done nothing meaningful to protect their customers. Working cameras, security presence, adequate signage warning visitors of the risk -- none of it. Just a cute fruit stand with a dangerous parking lot and zero accountability. (To be fair, the employees seemed remorseful, and gave us some trash bags and tape to cover the window.) Save yourself. Buy your fruit somewhere else. Visited here while in town. Fun to try lots of new fruits I've never had before. The petting zoo area is fun. Everything is very pricey though. I decided to order online when I got home so my family could try some things. A month and half later, after many calls back and forth, I was told the mangoes I had ordered were no longer in season. That's fine, they offered some other mangoes. They told me the Mamey I wanted would still arrive along with the mystery fruit box. A few days later, I finally had my box. The fruit was rotted, smashed, moldy and they didn't have the Mamey (they did refund this before the box sent) I basically paid $170 for some mangoes because the rest was inedible and had to be tossed. To get the attention of folks passing by, Robert's dad scrawled the words "Robert Is Here" on signs placed on each side of the table. That day, Robert sold out all his produce by noon and a budding farmer & entrepreneur was born. The farm stand not only gained a name that day, but has gained a loyal following ever since. And that little boy? Robert himself still works the stand today. Robert's is more than just a fruit stand, Robert is a true Miami treasure! Throughout the year, there's live music every weekend. This enormous fruit stand is stocked with exotic fresh local fruits: 1. As the largest tropical fruit that grows on trees, a single Jackfruit can weigh up to 80 lbs. The skin resembles a green sea urchin, and inside is a soft orange fruit featuring a pineapple-vanilla flavor. 2. Guanabana has a similar green prickly skin as the jackfruit. When the fruit is ripe, the skin is extremely soft and can be opened with your hands. Robert says the pockets of fruit you'll find inside taste like "pineapple cotton candy." 3. Dragon fruit has a bright pink skin protecting white fruit inside, which has small black seeds. It tastes like a blend of raspberry, strawberry & kiwi. We waited on a long long line for fresh fruit, milkshakes and smoothies. We bought all kinds of fruit, vegetables and exotic fruits to try. I was disappointed they used to have samples so we could have a little taste of exotic fruits before we purchase them. The fruits and fruit drinks have become significantly more expensive than they were the last time we were here. There are about 30 different varieties of honey and we can't sample those either. I couldn't resist buying some homemade jams from passionfruit and Guanabanas. If I could taste some of the fruit, I would be more eager to purchase. In the back, our plants for sale, wood, carvings, a barbecue a Mexican food truck .. there are lots of old farm machines to climb on and play with an animals to pet and feed. I stopped by this fruit stand on the way to the Keys. I loved roaming around and seeing all the different types of fruit. Robert was so friendly and picked out the ripest sapotes for me. We stopped by on our way to the Everglades with the intent of getting a quick smoothie, however, our visit kept getting extended because of all of the great things to look at! They also have a farm where you can see some goats, tortoises, and even an emu! It was fun to see lots of different exotic fruits like passionfruit, guava, starfruit, etc. and we got a couple to try. They are quite pricey though, one passionfruit cost us about $6. We also got a smoothie from the stand inside - they have lots of different fruit combos or you can build your own with 3 fruits. They also make shakes on site and had a Mexican food truck out back. The property is large with rescued birds and animals, some exotic and some of the barnyard variety. Chickens are running free range, and they have quite a few bathrooms, including the private trailer porta potty variety. I especially enjoyed the animals. We were already down in Homestead and only 10 minutes away so we said "Why not?" and headed over to Robert Is Here. This place is pretty famous in South Florida but we met some people who came down to visit from NYC! The inside is basically just a fruit market, albeit with some pretty exotic offerings on hand. We grabbed a few! They also sell a huge variety of fruit flavored smoothies and milk shakes too. Spensyr got passion fruit while I opted for guanabana. We also decided to split a Cuban sandwich for lunch and it was the saddest, blandest, not at all toasted and barely pressed Cubano ever. Out back is a huge pen full of rescued animals you can pay to feed, nothing looked especially healthy, but the goats and cows were hungry enough to come over to the fence. This is a great stop on the road between Miami and the Keys - we came here in January 2025, finding it by accident on our drive towards the Everglades, although we had seen it on YouTube a few times. The produce here is beautiful and exotic - fruits and vegetables never heard of - and varieties of those you know on an epic scale. The Monroe avocados in particular were mind boggling for their sheer size. We grabbed some tasty smoothies and checked out their petting zoo, which is a beautifully done animal shelter containing iguanas, goats, turtles, birds, and other critters. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they are happy to prep your produce for immediate consumption if you like. They also prepare a good number of juices made from their inventory. You can easily lose track of time here. But if you have the time, it would be well spent. read more

I absolutely loved my time here. I did not think I would spend close to two hours at a fruit stand, but I did. First, there is plenty of parking along the sides of the place and people are constantly coming in and out so be patient if it's all full. Next, I loved the variety of fruit they had along with the signs that tell you about it and when it is ripe. I would say I was familiar with about 80% of their inventory and tried to buy some of the ones I had never had. I did like that for some of the larger fruits they sold it by pieces, which made me more likely to buy it. They will peel / cut up the fruit for you at the register, right in front of you. In total we spent $28 which was a bit expensive BUT, it was all worth it when he got to the animals because basically - you get a free trip to the zoo. The birds were fascinating, and they all had very unique personalities, some even talked. They has lots of tortoises, chickens running around everywhere, emu, ducks, and so many more. I know Robert is Here is a popular local tradition, but it was not what I expected as an out of town tourist. There is a great selection of unique fruits and other oddities to purchase in the food stand. The famous milkshakes and smoothies were good, but $10 seemed unreasonable. You can find live music, a taco truck, a barbecue stand, an antiques seller, and a coffee shop. You can also find tons of different animals- tortoises, emus, Guinea fowl, cows, goats, turkeys, geese, and chickens, some of which run free. We decided to eat at the taco food truck that was there. Jay chose "3 way tacos" $11 (he liked his) and I chose a vegan option $13 that had no flavor at all and gave me diarrhea the next day.
