I love visiting La Michoacana for delicious snacks! They are an authentic paleteria from mexico and have many snacks that you can also find available in mexico. My favorite are the paletas, fresas con crema & prepared chips. There are plenty of variety of delicious aguas fescas & soft drinks. My only feedback- would be it's a little un-organized because sometimes you need to take a number, sometimes you don't, so just be patient or ask upon arrival if you need to take a #.

This Mexican paleta shop is to die for. There are over 50 flavors to chose from paletas whether it be creamy or fruit popsicles; from Ferrero Rocher to even Guava. It can be overwhelming trying to decide what to get but sooo worth the wait. You can also get different concoctions like a Mangonada which had mango, chamoy and other yummy add ons. There is also an assortment of natural juices, smoothies and even ice cream scoops. They also have yummy snacks like esquite (corn in a cup). Overall, it's a great spot to grab a dessert with friends or family. I highly recommend!!
Love visiting this place when I'm down in homestead. So many options for snacks/ice cream. It does get packed and finding parking can be difficult but worth it.
This place gets packed. The parking is horrible. Good luck in finding a spot. Once inside you will see they sell a variety of different ice cream flavors. They also sale hot dogs, churros, paletas, and many other sweet treats that I haven't tried yet. The people are very nice and go above and beyond to help you.
I've passed by this spot so many times on US1 and I finally stopped by....WOW. They have all the icecream flavors you could think of and the ones you probably didn't even know were possible to be icecream flavors! This is a walk in, order and go place. They don't have seating. Service is pretty quick. I ordered a scoop of cookies and cream icecream, so yummy and creamy. Tried their churros with 2 scoops of icecream. The churros were so fresh and crunchy. Lastly also tried their mango chunks with chamoy and tajin YUM YUM YUM. Definitely coming back because way more on their menu like loaded dorito bags, nachos,paletas, agua de fruta, snacks, ETC.
Small quaint place. But full of locals.. Service was decent. Very helpful, especially when you don't know how things taste, they will give you a sample if you would like. 3 scoops for $5 on homemade ice cream is not bad.. Not only do they have ice cream, but they have Churo with ice cream. They also have a couple of Mexican fruit snacks. Next to the counter.. Overall, nice place. I would definitely go again if I'm in the area.. I had the Tamarindo ice cream with the Piña & limón. The lemon was a bit tart as expected, but it did cleanse the palate.. The Tamarindo . Was perfectly balanced. I would recommend it. As for the pineapple, it was delicious, not too sweet. Perfectly balanced with the natural pineapple flavor..
I will never say no to a stop at La Michoacana! It's a great place to get some treats and bring friends who are visiting from outside of homestead. The menu is huge; there's a lot of ice creams, paletas, agua frescas, and other snacks you can order. My favorite is the bionico de fresa which consists of sliced strawberries and condensed milk with strawberry and cream ice cream and it's so good. I get it to share every time. I also really like the elote en vaso; they add butter, mayo and cheese, and then you can add toppings like lime juice, jalapeños, etc. at the topping bar. It's usually pretty busy unless you go early on a week day, but the service is quick and nice. Definitely pass by if you're thinking about it!
While accompanying a friend running errands, he said he wants to stop by Big Tomatoes to drop off something and get me to try ice cream at La Michoacana. I couldn't even say the name but I was definitely in the mood for ice cream. The store is a gem. It is sort of hole-in-the-wall place, tucked in on a street. When we went inside, I was amused by all the colors and decorations. I went for the Trio waffle bowl, had this ice cream with "besos" or "angel" in the name, mamey ice cream, and this other ice cream that I do not remember the name of...I think it might have been passionfruit? BUT WOW, the ice cream was DELICIOUS!!! I ate the whole thing and the flavors were amazing--there were different textures, crunches, sweet, sour, and awesome flavors. The employees were really friendly and sweet too. They had a system going on which made the ordering process very efficiently during busy times. I wish there was another location open in Miami, so that it's closer. The desserts, especially the mamey ice cream were REALLY GOOD!

It was a hot day in Florida City! What better way to cool down than having some Mexican Ice cream! This is definiitely a gem in homestead. The ice cream here is very authentic, very different from your usual ice cream places. They have allot of creative ideas, some of the ice cream was very natural. This is my favorite place to go and get Palletas. There's so much variety and so much ice cream to choose from. The fresh juices that they have are really great I recommend the coconut flavor it's my favorite. The only downside is that they only except cash but trust me it's worth it also definitely try the corn! read more
First of all, it's actually located on 26841 South Dixie Highway and can be seen from the street because it's very well lit. Been wanting to come here forever, and after eating Mexican food decided to come here finally. A very large selection of delicious Mexican paletas at $2.50 each. Cash only but so worth it because there's literally like 50 paleta flavors. There's ice cream too, and other stuff but the paletas are really amazing. I had the key lime and the maracuya lechera. Outstanding. I want to go back and try so many more. Do yourself a favor and go. read more
When you walk in, you will likely be amazed by the variety they offer, you want to try everything, and you may want to just order something straight away, but take a deep breath, and walk around first. There are three sections: on the right are the ice pops, with more flavors than you can imagine, and many interesting ones, like mango with chili, pumpkin, elote, tequila, cucumber. On the left is ice cream, again with some flavors you won't see in your average ice cream store. In the center, you can order juices, as well as chicarron, nachos, corn in a cup, and more. Oh, there is a cell phone kiosk of some sort in the corner too. Most of the stuff is in Spanish, and the staff doesn't necessarily speak much English, but you can easily sample the ice cream. In the paleta section, at the bottom of the case, the wrap-around kind of provides some translation to most if not all flavors. There's also a tv menu too with some English. I wish I can eat all the ice cream and paletas I want without brain freeze or stomach ache, because it's impossible to decide. If this place were closer to home, I could stop by everyday, and it will still be months before I exhaust all flavors. Hmmm. maybe I need to bring an ice chest next time I head south. read more

Cute little dessert/snack spot. No tables or chairs, you walk in- grab a number and wait for it to be called so you can place your take out order. There are so many ice cream flavors to choose from-- many more than I captured here-- and they are incredibly delicious! My fave has to be the passion fruit/strawberries- so natural- like biting into the actual fruit. The pistachio and cappuccino were pretty good as well, I'd recommend you order the "large" cup which allows you to choose 3 flavors and it's price was $5. read more

I scream, you scream, we all scream for paletas?! Doesn't everyone just love a great ice cream? Well after all the commotion I've been hearing about this place I had to check it out. It's in Homestead across from the City Hall in a strip filled with all sorts of stores. It was a rainy day but the place was still packed. Outside they provide covered seating which was perfect for a day like this. Once inside I saw people standing in a line to the left (where the ice creams are) in front (where you can order drinks, hot food, and everything else) and to the right of me the paleta's. Next to that was the cashier. I liked the set up because even though it was crowed their operation ran smoothly and quite quickly. I have a thing for coconut so I went straight to the ice creams to check it out. This is when all hell(in a good way) broke loose. They have every "regular" flavor you can think of like vanilla, chocolate, cookies and cream and so on but they had flavors I've never heard of before. When the girl behind the counter asked if I would like to try some samples, I was like ,"do I breathe oxygen"?, LOL. Let's get this ice cream sample party started. I had to try the coconut which was delish and had flakes of real coconut in it and you can have it made with milk or water. I tried the rum raisin, freaking delicious, tequila (yes, the flavor was real), pineapple, mango, lime, I mean let's just say I tried alot! Then I see they have Mexican corn (drool worthy) they serve in a generous cup, nachos, popcorn, hotdogs, smoothies, and more. I moved on to checkout the actual paleta flavors. OMFG, here we go with all those flavors and more. They even had chikle (u know the gum) and then they had dipped ice creams and ones with fruit pieces inside like strawberries, blueberries, and kiwi. You could even add toppings! Although I originally had my heart set on the coconut, their crema fresca (girl there told me it's like condensed milk) with strawberries drew me in. I also purchased the mango and coconut paleta to go, which they wrap up for you. You can also have your paleta on a plate with added cut up fruit and that red Mexican seasoning covering it to give it that extra kick! This place is pure heaven and the ice creams are all made in house. Everyone needs to come and check this ice cream treat place out! read more

Service was quick & efficient. Currently only take-out is available. Had a variety of snack options for ice cream, natural fruit juices, nachos, etc. Definitely recommend stopping by read more
