The restaraunt could benefit from having the option of breakfast until a little later in the day. Instead of stopping breakfast at 11:00, maybe 12:00 would make all customers happy. Many restaurants do an up charge for breakfast after a certain hour. I asked for eggs at 11:40 am and the manager said she couldn't make them for me. I didn't have appetite for lunch at that time so I drank coconut water for breakfast. :/ I love that the owners made a place for families and people to meet and take the kids. I am not a fan of keeping animals enclosed so anything to give them more space or land would be a plus for the animals. I'm also not a fan of seeing animals used to carry people and pretty much labor, they have no choice, they are captive and also have to work restlessly. The roads would be much better if they were paved as opposed to dust. It would make the experience a little more clean. The decorations could use a fancier upgrade. Either way it seems a lot of people enjoy the place. It's not a place I would frequent too often. read more

What a great little spot! We recently discovered it during our annual Homestead exploration and were immediately welcomed by our server, Ruth, who shared the history of the restaurant and even let us sample their homemade honey. We had breakfast--steak, eggs, hot Cuban toast with butter, and café con leche--and we were stuffed by the time we left. Absolutely delicious. I'm always hesitant about going to places that have live animals due to treatment reasons. I want the animals to be well taken care of and not in horrible conditions. I'd say about 65%-75% were in reasonable enclosures. I will say some of the animals, especially the one camel by itself with the cows was really picking on the cows and it made me feel so bad for them being chased around a small space. There was also a gator that had lacerations on its arm, and there were way too many in one small enclosure. They had an opportunity for you to take pictures with two baby gators, but they literally just had them sitting in a tank with tape on their mouth and it was maybe a 40 gallon tank which is what I keep my pet lizard in by himself. If I could, I'd give a 3.5 stars because it was still an interesting experience,, there was a lot of things to see and a lot of stuff to do. We did paintball we wrote on the train. We checked out all the animals the fish and I think my favorite part was the aviary. All the birds were able to roam freely and were following us around to see if we had food. as far as cost, it's a really accessible price and you have access to a lot of different things, but I do question the animal treatment. read more

It's almost Halloween and yesterday we found the perfect pumpkin patch to go to this Halloween! There is something to do for all ages. We have been to several farm-style Halloween places and I vote this as the #1 to go to. It is kept very clean, well organized, professional, and has employees happy to answer your questions. They are open from 9 am - 8 pm Monday thru Sunday. The ticket booth is on your left as you enter. The train is also there and arrives every 10 minutes. It takes you to the back of the park where everything is located. You can buy delicious farm-to-table food featuring great milk shakes, Cuban food, sandwiches, and more at reasonable prices. It is located near the entrance. We loved the Vaca Frita with the best ever prepared Yuca and Shredded Beef! Unbelievably delicious! There is a very nice covered area to sit at with cooling fans and open air and a high ceiling plus outdoor seating at picnic tables. The staff there are friendly and bring you napkins for your table. It is very well kept up. Impressive. After we had our delicious lunch, we hopped on the train and went to the back where the Halloween art is the, the pumpkin patch, pumpkins, children's playground, the farm animals, ostriches, pigs, cows, birds, fish farm, koi, orchids, and camels are. There are so many photo ops!! Everything is beautifully arranged and organized. There is so much to see and I can't name it all. You will be happy that you went. There is lots of free parking inside the place. The ground is partly soft little rocks/gravel and pavement is level, and very easy to walk on. I came to By Brothers Farm with my friend and her son, to experience our first ever pumpkin patch. By Brothers was amazing. The check in process was a little confusing. Even if you purchase your tickets online, you still have to wait in the general admission line, which was very long. After you check in, everything else went smooth. The farm has a lot to offer! Not only did they offer a pumpkin patch, but they had a petting zoo, train ride, bird sanctuary, foam party, slides, corn kernel play pen, bounce houses, line dancing, and so much more. With all the exciting activities around, the farm wasn't overly crowded and everyone was spaced out. They had multiple food stands with your typical fair/carnival food and some Hispanic dishes as well. My friend, her son, and myself had so much fun! Their fall festival was so cute- I'm glad we made the hike down from Fort Lauderdale. I will say, it was pricey at $25 per ticket plus fees. For three of us it came to around $90. But, that gets you access to a lot, and it's a fun time. We arrived around 4pm and there was enough parking. We didn't even get to explore everything, but we saw the fish farm, where you can feed fish, saw a bunch of animals including camels and donkeys, got pics in the pumpkin patch, and watched the parade at 6pm. The food sucks it is not fresh at all, most of the things advertised on the webpage are just to bring people in honestly I would not recommend this place for anyone if you come you better eat before you get here because you will starve or you will eat old reheated meat. This is definitely a great place to bring your toddler kids! There are plenty of play areas for them to enjoy outside, and it's very safe. The bird feeding experience is amazing, and the kids loved it. The other animals are a bit more difficult to feed because the carrots are quite large, which makes it a bit uncomfortable, but the kids still found a way to feed them. Just a heads-up my son did get scratched when trying to feed them, so please be careful. There's plenty of parking, and thankfully, it wasn't crowded. I specifically took my daughter here to experience the play//animal feeding areas. We went between 12-2pm on a Tuesday and other than field trips taking place, the park was relatively quiet. Not all of the attractions were fully operating, but we were not going for the water park experience, shows or food vendors so it was fine. I would say the park is best for kids ages 2-7 years old. It's just enough for them to be entertained without being overwhelmed. All of the attractions were also appropriate and suitable for my daughter to enjoy without struggling. She's a little under 40 inches. The petting zoo consisted of ponies, goats, mini pigs, tortoises, camels, bunnies and cranes. We enjoyed feeding them carrots from a safe distance. At $5 a bag you get about 3-5 large carrots and we were able to feed over 5 different animals. We were also able to take advantage of the jump house trampoline for sometime, which is covered and has fans blowing. There was seating for parents to safely supervise their kids comfortably, which was a plus for me and my dad. If you're looking for photo ops this is a really cute spot that's quiet during the weekday and has different pumpkin patch and fall decorations you're able to interact with. I didn't get to experience any of the food I've heard so much about, but I'm open to coming back during a weekend to get the full experience of the park. The only confusing part was the parking/entrance setup. Even if you buy your tickets online you still need a wrist band to enter the park, which is only located at the ticket stand at the front. I drove from Pembroke Pines to the Redlands to check this place out. Turns out my daughter was not tall enough for the water portion of most of the activities. I tried to ask questions and due to a language barrier and attitude I was not provided adequate service or information and that seemed to be the theme throughout the area. We were asked to wait on the side or get in another line when checking in to pay for entrance. This place is overpriced. Staff were unprofessional and unorganized. The milkshakes are delicious but definitely not for $9 - 12. My suggestion would be to hire staff that speak multiple languages. It's not fair that those that don't speak Spanish are made to wait or not be provided the same level of customer service as those that do. Stopped by this farm on our way down Krome avenue and I gotta say it's a pretty nice place, very family friendly! Has lots of things for families to enjoy including live music, my reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that they didn't have a light beer selection, they only offer Corona and being that it's outdoors and most people would enjoy a cold brew it would have been nice to have a light option such as Corona light or premier but with that said I did try a regular Corona and it was nice and cold! We will definitely be back when we have more time and will try some of their food options that looked quite tasty! Another plus was that they had big cooling units in their Tiki area along with ceiling fans so it wasn't bad under there even in our scorching Miami heat! The food was pretty good. The ponies are boring, and look disgusting and very mistreated. The fish were in dirty water. For the capybara photo, they specifically told us that we had to hold them in a position that I imagine is extremely uncomfortable for them. The only good parts were the kinkajou photo, and watching a parrot try to escape from this prison (he was literally picking a lock). I am pretty sure this place is committing animal abuse. It is also a great place to bring groups of young people, like school field trips, or outings for city-dwellers to be in touch with nature and animals. I saw this spot on IG and I book marked it! I brought my boys here on last day of spring break! You can not miss this place. It has a huge sign that says By Brothers.You can't miss it! There are lots of parking. Coming up to the front desk you see all the prices and the different things you can do. It was only $15 per person because we were there on a weekday. We added a horse ride and brought food to feed the animals. It's Easter time so it's so many cool photo opportunities. You can ride the train to bring you into the park after buying the tickets for everything. My kids did horse riding, an egg hunt, fed the animals and bounced and jumped all over the place. The food was average priced. The only complaint I have is when the staff did the show and tell of the animals they spoke primarily Spanish. My children and I only speak English so there were moments we were unclear of what was being said. We also encountered Spanish speaking staff for the horse ride and the paintball activities. They were super nice and very patient with me. So I appreciated them a lot! We stayed for about 4 hours but we could have easily been here all day and not been bored! They have a bunch of shaded areas to sit and eat or relax out of the sun. My kids are already asking to go back. I will for sure be returning! I love it! read more

Homestead is Miami's second oldest community. Just a little bit north is the Redlands where there is a number of plant nurseries along Krome Avenue. Some of them have added family friendly activities to draw more people in. What looks to be one of the most elaborate of this type of nursery is the By Brothers. By Brothers is a family owned and operated nursery to which they they have added a food stand, pony rides, train ride, animals, a huge picnic pavilion with tables, LED screen, and a newly constructed venue space. On the day I visited it was being used for a very elaborate baby shower. They also operate a Cuban restaurant that serves lechon asado/roasted pork, tostones, croquetas, vaca frita/shredded beef, bistec de cerdo, pan con bistec, flan, and milkshakes with fresh fruit. The restaurant is open every day from 6am to 8pm for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In the back there is a beautiful koi pond with swans. I loved their amazing selection of orchids. Everywhere I looked were families enjoying food and their fruit shakes. This looks a fun place to take the kids. read more

I ended up ordering a pound of chiccharones and man, they did not skimp out! It came out quick and smelled amazing. It was a tempting drive back home. While waiting the staff make your shake from fresh produce and they are quick. I waited about 2 minutes and that was with another person ahead of me!
