To me, Macita's has some of the best pan de bono around. I order from this location almost weekly! Our go tos are the empanadas, pan de bono as expressed before, the chicharron, the ceviche de chicharron and the Colombian sausage. They are consistently good. Don't forget to add the picante. read more

Let's start off by saying the food was amazing the empanadas were made fresh, golden brown. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Excited to come back for more, the ambiance is family oriented. Macita's is a classic colombia restaurant that goes way back and has history. They have two locations, one off US one and the other one in Kendall. I visited their Kendall location which has a convenient ventanita. Inside they have a bakery section where there are plenty of sweets and savory foods to purchase. I chose to order chicken empanadas and arepa de choclo. My only complaint is that I wish they gave more cheese! I think the butter cheese ratio could have been better but the arepa itself was soft and flavorful. The chickens empanadas are absolutely delicious and filled with a ton of chicken. The only thing is that they are very greasy so eat at your own risk. read more

Macita's Restaurant & Bakery - Corn Arepa with House Quesito Chicken Empanadas - Colombian Near Me - Miami, Florida

The restaurant is big with Colombian decorations everywhere. It makes you feel you are about to eat good Colombian food. Our server was super nice and kept checking on our table every time she passed by us. Now, the bandeja paisa was super bland. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare and they did not disappoint which I was happy about that. But they forgot to season it! It lacked flavor for a plate that cost almost $20. The frijoles were good and chicharrón was delicious. The maduros were hard and rice was lacking flavor as well. Some places give you avocado so I was disappointed that I didn't get it with my meal. read more

A well organized & optimistically attractive; humble & respectful environment with a lot of maturity & respect for their clients. Nostalgic & futuristic brain light bulbs seem to open insight & intelligence to the thinking types. You feel like you're actually in Colombia within this environment. I also recommend this place to those within the Hispanic television market & city government, you may end up with some good ideas within your consciousness within their world. Their prices are excellent. They have plenty of traditional Colombian dishes, a powerful bakery, and also a lot of balance within your nutritional choices. read more

The empanadas were perfectly crispy and packed with flavor, but what really took them to the next level with the chile--just the right amount of heat and spice. And don't even get me started on the lemonade--it was so refreshing and had the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. The service was just as good as the food. The staff was super friendly and made the experience even better. If you're looking for authentic Colombian flavors, this is definitely the place to go. Can't wait to come back! read more

My vent is because of a BIG disappointment. My husband's birthday is today. Yesterday I asked him where he especially wanted to eat. His favorite meal at Macitas was subrebarriga a la criolla. So I called the Macitas in Cutler Bay and asked if they still made it. They don't but suggest I check with the Kendall location. I called there and asked if they made it and it was going to be for my husband's 75th birthday. The woman put me on hold, checked with whomever and came back and said yes. So here we are getting ready to make the trek to Kendall, when something told me to call and make sure........ You guessed it...... they don't make that ! He was so disappointed and I was VERY NOT PLEASED. We wound up going to Two Brothers and had the best Italian cuisine. read more

The food is delicious. This would have been 4 stars if not for the wait time. It took us quite a bit to order and to receive the food. It is a nice open space and the music is not too loud. Bring a sweater if you get cold easily. If you want delicious Colombian food and don't mind a long wait time, this is the place to go. read more

This is a good spot if you are looking for good Colombian food. I have been here a few times with a Colombian friend, and it never misses. We had the churrasco Colombiano, and I forgot what my friend's plate was called. It had an array of shrimps, mussels, fish, and something else. We both confirmed our food was tasty, and the service is always on point. I love Colombian food and Colombia as a travel destination. read more

Colombian restaurant with live music(a tad too loud, that one cannot carry a conversation at the table). Family gatherings were present. Empanadas were crispy and with a lot of meat paste filling. Tasty and crunchy. Choclo arepa with cheese came without the cheese being melted, Not bad, but a different consistency. Empanado pork, a huge steak of pork breaded and golden perfection.came with rice, beans, maduros. Cazuela Paisa, topped with Chicharrones steaming hot pot full of goodies. Plato Paisa-the beans on the side were Luke warm( needed re-heating so were sent back by the table. The Fried egg came overdone, so no running egg to moist the rice. The Chicharrón was delicious and the carne asada, maduros arepas complimented the dish. Tres Leches for dessert was good. All washed down by Sparkling Water, Colombiana soda and Mango Drink We had a good time. Service was attentive. read more

The staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. I've ordered the sancocho, pan de bono, and cafe con leche - all of which are tasty. Their sancocho is my go-to when I'm feeling (or a friend is feeling) under the weather. read more

I've only tried the ceviche chicharron both times I've ordered it was the best chicharron I've ever had!!!

First time visiting this location. Was not busy, and seemed like only 2 attendants working. Ordered quickly but food did take a while to come out. Chicken soup was flavorful, albeit a touch salty. Bandeja was solid. Steak was well seasoned, would have liked for the egg to be runny, but it was well done. Server never checked on us, and we had to motion to get the check. Solid Colombian food, on the pricier end. read more

So all throughout Miami there are plenty of Colombian restaurants but not all are great. Ask any Colombian & they each have their fav empanada spot or fav place for a bandeja paisa. My favorite place for a delicious bandeja paisa close to my home is Macitas. The restaurant itself is a nice location, cozy with live music at times. It has been awhile since I eat in, but their take out does not disappoint. The portions are the same whether you are eating in or taking out. The food is fresh & tasty. The steak is grilled to the actual term you ask for which is definitely a plus in my book. You can always grab a fresh pan de queso or some empanadas to accompany your meal that are constantly coming out from the kitchen crisp. If you want some good Colombian food this is one I recommend. read more

The food is really good the desserts are so fresh. Sunday they have live music. The service is on point.

Every time that I don't feel good, Macitas chicken soup hit the spot and make me feel better.

Is it me or does it feel like Macitas restaurant owner messed with their amazing empanada sauce just to keep his customers from begging for more sauce??? The sauce was PERFECTION & now even my Jamaican father in-law can't handle how HOT FIRE it is. read more

My wife and I, have been coming to this restaurant for a while. First time we had a bad experience with bad service. We order, what they called a Colombian churrasco . I do not know what the hell the brought us, but i do know that thing we ate had no taste, overcooked.. The server only showed up because I called him , to pay the bill. Probably last time we go. Do not ask for the Colombian Churrasco.. read more

We tried this place for the first time... it was good, just good. First of all, the place was busy and VERY noisy. We ordered as appetizers a couple of empanadas... delicious. Then, we ordered a Plato Mixta to share... also very good but the service was lacking. We had to wait and wait... and the place was not that full. Food was good, service was lacking. We are on the fence if we will be returning. read more

LITERALLY the WORST experience I have had in quite some time!!! The customer service has gone downhill incredibly over the years and I've tolerated some things but today takes the cake. I called over the phone to order a chicharrón like I've done many times in the past. I asked them to not cut it AT ALL and to leave the piece in its complete form. A lot of times after they cut it, they re-fry it to heat it up and you're left with leathery, hard to chew pieces. The girl over the phone said it's no problem. I picked up my order and then went home. When I arrive I open the package to see that they had cut it. They left the skin intact but everything else was cut. I called to ask what had happened because it was extremely dry and over fried on top of it all and the girl told me that I never asked for it to be kept whole and even if I did they don't do that there. She refused to give me a refund saying I got exactly what I ordered. They then told me I'm probably confused and don't know where I am because they always cut the chicharrón. 20 YEARS I've been coming here since I was a little girl and it has never been a problem. I spoke to Andrea and Carolina Amaya (the owner). Both were extremely rude and did not want to correct the situation. They just repeated over and over that I was wrong and I must've gone to a different restaurant before. They blatantly spoke over me every time I tried explaining what I got in the package. I had to ask them to stop interrupting me several times. Macita's used to be great but they don't train their personnel well anymore. If they changed their system and couldn't cut the damn chicharrón, they should've said something over the phone when I called and let me know this is new and being implemented from now on. Absolutely DISAPPOINTING. They've lost not just one customer but everyone in my family as well along with friends who I've come with here before who have also commented the same about poor service and lack of respect to the customer. If they continue this type of business model, pretty soon Macita's won't exist anymore. Ridiculous... read more

Food was super good, service was good, and the environment was nice. I have followed Macitas instagram for a while and definitely worth trying. Very nice staff. I loved my Colombian beef stew (sancocho). The side salad I chose needs to be on a bigger plate because you can't mix it with your fork. The bakery section is right there too so I got a pan de bono (cheese bread) and a beef patty (empanada)- so yummy!!!! They had music on the weekend when we went. A must try! read more

The food is not bad, but it's a hit or miss type of place. The ambience is cold and could be loud at times. The service... if you call, get ready to be hung up on, put on hold without being asked if you could hold, and stay there, on hold for over 10 minutes! So I went in person, complained directly to the woman that had left me on hold, no apology, didn't care, and the place was not even that full. Nothing like the original Macitas. read more
