The server's attention to our table was okay. To drink we ordered some of their jugos naturales, my dad ordered una limonada de coco (coconut lemonade) and I went with un jugo de maraculla (passion fruit juice), both were great and refreshing. For our mains, my dad had the sancocho de gallina and I had the pechuga empanizada. The sancocho is served with rice, una arepa, and salad. The pechuga empanizada comes with two sides, I went with rice and tostones. The main reason we went to Mi Pueblo was because my dad wanted sancocho and he usually loves the one from Mi Pueblo, but this time he said it was not the same. He said it lacked flavor and was not like it used to be before. My food was good. We didn't get to try the empanadas, since the food came out before the drinks and the empanadas. We took the empanadas to go and they were good. We will probably be back to Mi Pueblo, but I am sure my dad will be ordering something else next time. It had been a few years since I had been there so we decided to go back today since we really enjoyed it in the past. Very disappointed today. Ordered a bandeja paisa which is a typical colombian dish and it was quite disappointing. The chicharones were soggy and chewy instead of crunchy. The beans were tasteless and once I found the steak under the rice, it was horrible. It was very small and thin, way over cooked, one side very burned and super dry. The rice was OK and the small arepa was also ok. I did not order anything to drink except water..... first glass was plain cool water ( no ice) and the second glass they brought the water jug without any ice. I did not complain but I will never go back. Too bad because the place is very nice but food was horrible. Oh, the coffee was very good, cannot mess up with Colombian coffee. Excellent food and atmosphere. It looks very similar to being in Disney: they replicate being in Colombia really well. The tipal homes on the "finca" or ranch house. The attention is also good. At time its is Great when they have a receptionist that keeps waiters attentive. All in all great food that makes up For a waiter that takes for ever.... One of our coworkers wanted Nicaraguan food, but they place we usually go to was closed for Good Friday. The suggested this place and it had a wonderful Colombian menu. My friend is a huge fan of this restaurant and told me great things about their bandeja paisa. I decided to come here to satisfy my bandeja paisa craving. We came on a Thursday night and the restaurant was empty. Parking was plenty but I can see it might be hectic to find parking during the day since the plaza is shared with other little shops and restaurants. The inside of the restaurant is nothing like the outside of the restaurant. The interior is decorated so that it takes you back to Colombia. It's spacious inside as well with plenty of seating. My friend and I got there before the rest of the party arrived so we ordered an appetizer to kill some time. I noticed Ceviche de Chicharron and never had that before. Our server told us that is a very good choice and so we went with that. It was delicious! The acidity from the citrus juice complimented well with the fatty savory pork belly. The sauce was so good that my friend saved some so she can eat it with her entree. We also wanted empanadas but they ran out of the meat options and gave us the cheese one without telling us that they sold out the meat one which is what we ordered. Maybe it was a miscommunication because of the language barrier but I told our server to just leave it on our table since I didn't want it to go to waste. It was still good but I wish they had told us it was out before serving us the cheese one. The rest of the party came and a majority of us got the Bandeja Paisa. For the money you pay, you get two meals basically. It is delicious and very filling so get ready to stretch those pants. Avocado costs extra. I wasn't a fan of. I'm used to the empanadas having chicken mixed with potatoes and other garnishes. Instead, this empanada was stuffed with shredded chicken which I've never seen before. In the interior, you're greeted with gorgeous wall colors and wooden interior of the restaurant and can immediately small an aroma of browned Columbian meats. I went in ordering my favorite columbian dish, the Bandeja Paisa. I felt that the overall dish was impressively larger than I was expecting for the small size. For the pros, the brown beans in dish tasted homemade and had a creamy texture, chicharrones were extremely crispy and the steak was well seasoned as well as tender! For my cons, I just felt that I would've liked the avocado that traditionally is served with the dish as it would add more flavor to the overall meal. In summary, the flavors were definitely spot on and the prices weren't even that crazy considering the type of cuisine. If I was back in the area again, I'd definitely be glad to dine in again. Regarding COVID-19, the place had decent seating space and there wasn't even a wait time which is great! Ive been going to Mi Pueblo Restaurant for already like 7 years. Its one of my favorite Colombian spots because their food is so tasty! I absolutely love their tostones con hogao they are always crunchy (just how they are supposed to be). Their jugo the lulo is always on point and their bistec a la criolla is also delicious. The prices are fair but I have realized that the food quality used to be a little better, as I said Ive been coming to the restaurant for years and from some time now I realized the food quality downgraded a little bit. I've been coming to Mi Pueblo for years. It's your typical Colombian restaurant. I think everything in terms of food is pretty delicious here. The buñuelos are my favorite. I usually order the bandeja paisa and it's always delicious and leaves me with leftovers. My boyfriend recently ordered the steak and that also was fantastic. They recently added a tapas menu, I haven't tried it but it looks interesting. Also on weekends they have a crepe station. My niece and nephew loved watching the chef make the crepes. The only cob to this place is that the service is hit or miss. Sometimes is fast and you're in and out in an hour and other times, like most recently, it's slow and at a snails pace. The last time we were there our server seemed distracted. Also we ordered two buñuelos after the fact and they never made it to our table. Overall it's a great place, and it's super fun at night.
