Last time I go to this dumpster. I would say the waiters name but he didn't even introduce himself (He was a short man with a tattoo) He came up to us, hands in pocket, and with an attitude. We went in, saw we were the only ones there. So we thought the service would have been amazing, boy was I wrong! Go elsewhere! Service was ok but then we were one table of 3 occupied. The chicken breast steak was tasty but not very tender. Salad on plate was a little wilted and really just a few lettuce leaves and mushy tomatoes. I was expecting a side salad à la Rinconcito Latino. Tostones were very hard to chew. We were in the neighborhood and decided to stop in for dinner--and we're so glad we did. Service was warm, friendly and professional. My husband ordered the Crema de Malanga, and despite being a notoriously picky eater, he declared it the best he's ever had. That alone speaks volumes. We also shared the Palomilla Wajira. The serving was generous however the steak itself could've used more seasoning, the real disappointment was the Jasmine rice it was served with. It's not traditional for this dish and unfortunately not one of our favorites. On the bright side, the Fufu de Plátano was absolutely delicious--comforting, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Just as we were winding down, we were surprised by live music. The singer was phenomenal--engaging, talented, and added a vibrant energy to the evening. The ambiance overall was relaxed and pleasant, making it a lovely spot to unwind. We're already looking forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu. Disappointing experience -- we won't be coming back. We went to El Gojiro as a family and asked for a fried fish fillet for our 7-year-old daughter. The waitress said yes, but instead brought out a whole fish with bones. When we pointed this out, instead of offering a solution, the waitress got upset and blamed us, saying we should've known they don't serve fish fillets. She spoke to other staff about us as if we were the problem, which was very unprofessional. Luckily, the manager stepped in and handled the situation respectfully. I visited this place for lunch today and it's an amazing spot although I went for a late lunch around 4pm and they only had about 4 tables being serve. We had gone to the Wajito Restaurant years ago and it was very good, but we just started going to another restaurant closer to us until the other day. We had a wonderful dinner! My husband had the whole fried whole fish it was quite delicious, I had the fried pork chunks very good also. The waiter we had was great, he gave us time to go over the menu and he also suggested different food options. The restaurant looks like a place in Cuba in the countryside. Ordered carry out from their website, the pick up time was 25 mins when I arrive promptly the food wasn't ready waited an extra 30 mins. When I arrive at home all of our sides were missing and the server had a bad attitude to begin with. Went back to the restaurants to request our food the same lady still with an attitude attended us. She told us the quantity's of the food and apologized with a bad attitude then proceeded to give us the wrong quantities of food. So I was at Wajiro's recently for lunch with my crew from work. We have visited Wajiro's when we go to a workshop in that neighborhood and have also been satisfied with it until now... For some reason, the service was a bit slower than usual without the restaurant being super packed which just leads me to believe they were just understaffed ... The food is usually very tasty! I ordered Picadillo which I've had there before and the reason I order it there is because usually it's super non-greasy and so tasty! I never eat picadillo so this is when I get to indulge! However, this time around, it was sooooo greasy! My picadillo was swimming in a sea of oil! Yuck! I mean enough oil to fry some maduros in! Gross! And the taste was not as good! I'm not sure if the regular chef was off, fired, or just having a bad day, but it was not to my liking! I don't know much Spanish, and the wait staff was very helpful in treating me the same as any other guest. They spoke in their best English and it showed appreciation for my business. I ordered a chicken milanese with moro and maduros. It was piping hot when it arrived and juicy. The chicken wasn't overcooked and the marinara sauce was nice. Oh, and the cheese was out of this world. I forgot to take a picture. Also, the wait staff made every effort to keep my glass full of water. It was nice to not have to constantly ask.
