This is an awesome family restaurant! It feels like you're in Colombia! I love the decorations! We came here tonight for dinner and it was phenomenal! Our server Sara recommended we try their antojitos platter for an appetizer (not pictured sorry!) it came with croquetas, mini tequeños, mini arepas & mini empanadas! El jugo de lulo aquí es exquisito!! The kid's grilled chicken breast was really juicy which is awesome!The bandeja paisa was filling as was the ajiaco colombiano! There was no room for dessert everything was so delicious we were stuffed! Knocking off a star because a different server charged us out and she was very pushy on the dessert and leaving a review (which I explained to her I was going to leave one once I was able to sit down and write one) We went around 7ish and it was empty which was great but they did get some traffic once we were finishing up. read more

If you're following me you know I'm a sucker for empanadas and nachos and they have to be really good for me to visit again. Rinconcito Paisa has excellent Colombian carne emapanadas. It seems all other Colombian carne empanadas I've tried have way too much potato and not enough carne (beef) inside. I love how the beef and the potato are mixed well and one bite isn't just beef or potato. If you have the time to eat inside, you'll get to experience a nostalgic Colombian vacation through their colorful Colombian decor. It's really cute! My daughter loves the complimentary bone broth they give you when you eat inside. Fortunately now they sell it. * Bring your own glass jar if you order the bone broth so the heat of the broth doesn't penetrate the plastic otherwise you're drinking plastic bone broth. That defeats the purpose of the healthy aspect of having bone broth. I forgot to mention in my other post, in Miami they still serve hot coffee in styrofoam/plastic so bring your own mug and all the places I've visited are happy to serve you their hot liquids in your mug. My son was feeling sick and the one thing he craved was the Sancocho de Gallina, so I placed the order and drove 25 minutes to pick it up. I also ordered a Cazuela de Mariscos for me. The service was very friendly and when I got to the restaurant I was supper happy to see how perfectly packaged for takeaway everything was. I was worried that it would spill on my 25 minute ride back home. The food was EXCELLENT. I got home and it was still super hot. The sancochos are served with an AMAZING white rice and depending on which sancocho you get the sides can vary. The gallina sancocho came with white rice and half of a hass avocado. For the cazuela de marisco you can pick your sides. I sat at my dining room table in heaven enjoying this seafood Cazuela. Wow, que rico and full of wonderful seafood including large shrimp, muscles, a stone crab claw, pieces of squid and octopus as well as other seafood. I had to take some of the larger pieces of seafood out of the container to be able to eat the soup. The portions are huge. Gracias Rinconsito Paisa #1 ! This is probably the best and most authentic Colombian restaurant I have been to in the Kendall area of Miami - where there are a lot of Colombian restaurants. My Colombian in-laws come here a lot. The interior looks classic Colombia and the staff was super nice. The food, oh the food. We had a large party, we all got different dishes - meat, fish, soups, etc. and everything was fantastic. I got a steak dish with rice and beans and it was fantastic. The portions are adequate but not huge, like you might get at the Cuban restaurants in the area. One thing to mention is that the restaurant is on the small side, so don't come here on a Friday night with 15 people expecting to be seated immediately. read more

It says that I haven't been there in over a year but that's not accurate. I was there a few times before the pandemic and I have been doing take out since the pandemic. This review is by a wheelchair user. I want to let you know that the times that I have been there, the people have been kind enough to take the food to my car even before the pandemic when I told that that I am in a wheelchair. I actually love to go there because I know that I will get a small cup of caldo (broth) while waiting for the meal. The restaurant has beautiful decorations that remind me of when I have gone to Colombia. When my family comes down to Miami, we go to the restaurant to get our Colombian fix. Carne Parilla is delicious. It feels like Colombian BBQ on a plate. Living in Miami, black beans is found everywhere. So we are very happy to go to this restaurant for our red beans. Breakfast is the best as well. We love beef empanadas! I would like to say that I can't find anything wrong but there is one thing. It's pretty tight there and the door is difficult to open. Once inside, they help create space for the wheelchair. Going to the bathroom is a bit difficult because it's a tight space. Other than that, it's awesome! read more

Not what I expected when I ordered last minute take out. I was beyond pleasantly surprised when I ordered one of their popular dishes, La Bandeja Paisa. It did NOT come in the commonly used styrofoam box with lid with minimal portions. It literally was a wide platter chuck full of large and plentiful portions and also served with a small broth soup, banana, beans on the side, and condiments for the steak and picante sauce. I felt as if I were served at the restaurant. The pics say it all. The packing, the taste, and the details were all on point. I highly recommend. read more

Great homestyle Colombian grub! Whether you're a fan of Colombian food or have a craving for grub from the mother land then this place will certainly satisfy both those cravings. Particularly I find great comfort in this place for many reasons; Like some of my fellow yelpers mentioned in their reviews don't be mistaken by other "Rinconcito Paisas" specially the one in the same plaza as they don't compare to this one. The place is small but you're immediately greeted like home and asked to seat where ever you'd like. A broth is brought to your table (Consome) as a house courtesy that to me is just the perfect thing to open up an appetite. Basically anything you order here will satisfy that craving that drove you here in the first place but to get into specifics this is my go to place when I'm feeling under the weather and in need of a delicious soup. In which case their Sancocho de Costilla which is basically Short Rib Soup served with Yuca, Plantain, Potato and Rice. This will take you out of that funk you're in and turn that frown upside down for sure. Other Colombian goodies that are done really well here are the Bandeja Paisa, Mojarra Frita and Carne Asada all excellent choices. Btw, get ready to loosen your belt if you order the Bandeja Paisa because they offer; Rice, Red Beans, Steak, Fried Egg, Pork Rinds, Arepa and Avocado. I am not exactly an advocate for Colombian food it's something that I grew up on. There seem to be so many of these all over the place but I was recommended this one in particular. Finally tried their empanadas and chicharrones, yum! My goal was to eat only 2 but ended up eating 4. Loved the spicy salsa they give you to compliment them. Their chicharrones were smaller than what I'm used to but they were good. After all I don't enjoy too much fat so it was nice that they weren't as big as other places. I have several Colombian friends and I already liked their empanadas. Not a high end place, but great food and cute decor. The cantina is also good, lots of options. Negative: prices of cantina have increased drastically over time. My parents live nearby and always get food from here. I had not had their food in a while, and we were craving a picada colombiana - a giant dish of mostly fried bite-sized treats - and oh my god was it good. You can taste the quality of the meats, and the freshness as well. The sauces (spicy ají and a cilantro aioli) were the perfect complement to their amazing empanadas. Bonus: it came with consomé (broth) that was not only delicious, it stayed piping hot for a long time. Damn, that was amazing! I must have ingested 1,500 calories but it was sooo worth it. Horrible portion size purchased there parillada paiza that said its fed 5 - 7 people what we got was portion size that fed maybe three people. Also to note it was mainly sides as the meats were barely there nothing like they advertise empanadas only 2 tiny ones . This platter cost about 45 dollars and what we got was not worth that amount. Plus when your just getting potatos and barely any meat its pretty ridiculous. I even called to order and asked if its a good size and the person said that it is come on. Would not go here again This was not 10lbs and again no one is going to buy this if its just the potatos and fries that are abundant i would say this was 2.5 lbs tops barely any meat on there read more

This place is totally awesome. We were greeted with a cup of chicken soup broth which tasted like the stick was simmered a long time, yummy. Ordered take out from here last night for dinner. Hubby and I were feeling under the weather so the sancocho de costilla was calling our name. Wow let me tell you, for $12.79, we had enough food for ourselves and then some! One order is plenty for 2 people. It was delicious. They put the rice and meat on the side as well as the broth so that you can add it to your liking. A slice of avocado and arepa also come with it. A banana was even thrown in! Horrible service. I asked for water to drink since their coffee machine was broken, they never brought the water. I ordered 3 empanadas and an arepa de choclo. They served people who got here and ordered after me first. The arepa they sent out burnt, I showed the waiter and he didn't apologize or anything. When I got my empanadas 2 were fine but the third was burnt as well. They didn't offer to exchange it. When they brought out the second arepa it was burnt as well. Just visited there some time ago on a Saturday afternoon with my half orange...Although no more than 3 tables were occupied at due moment, our service was veeeeeeery slow; we ordered a round of Aguila(Colombian beer) and it came almost at room temperature which for Miami hot and humid weather was nauseating! The bandeja paisa we ordered was not bad and it is reason why I did not give fewer stars to my review... Waiter was uncompromising and seemed as doing her job like a robot, no smiles no sympathy of any kind, as if serving us due to an obligation of some kind(and we are not picky patrons). Not good at all... Ordered a delivery through Grubhub of a Bandeja Paisa and a Churrasco Argentino. Even considering they were deliveries and some loss of quality and freshness are possible there were some very bad parts: Both types of meat were inedible. Taste and consistency were horrible The maduros were soaked in sauce and with a very strange taste The champingnon souce were too buttery and not tasting good The chicharrone was rubbery and hard. Pricing was a little over what we normally would pay in a restaurant around we live for the same food. I hope this was just a glitch of a Sunday afternoon but I won't order from them again in the near future. read more
