This review is for the whole store - does not include the deli department because they are terrible. This is my favorite publix and I absolutely loVe the cleanliness, great selection and amazing customer service I always experience here. Have never had a problem with expired or old food, and have always gotten what I was looking for. The events planning always goes above and beyond and the bakery has some of the best talent around. Very pleased to shop here every week. I'm from Florida so I'm used to Florida Publix's (who basically have the customer service of Chick-fil-a) and even though no Publix's up here come close to the Florida ones, this one is close as far as customer service goes. The deli is terrible, but most delis at publix seem to be. They always have an attitude, they always take their time and they always look like they hate their life. Real morale problem. They will not go above and beyond for you, they will not try to make your shopping experience amazing because they don't care. Please for the love of god don't ask for a buffalo chicken sub because they will abuse the poor thing to the point it's unedible. read more

Typically, the best fried chicken, however, the past two months at least two times the eight piece fried chicken had a bitter aftertaste. I did call up and ask if a different oil is being used, but was told the cooking preparation remains the same. I hope this can eventually be rectified or figured out why the bitter after taste? This is a little out of my usual hunting grounds, but I needed to shop and here it was. Same layout as the other Publixes (Publii?) that I've shopped in the Charlotte area and the same products on display. As with the others, there is a well manicured produce section, neat and tidy grocery aisles, large meat display and lots and lots of tidy frozen. Associates are polite and helpful. The young lady who rang up my order was efficient and speedy. Clean parking lot with clear cart corrals. Oh, and the cart I chose worked great. Publix prices seem to be at about the Harris Teeter level. But if you have the time and it's a bigger shop, consider driving a little further into South Carolina and save on the sales tax. read more

The staff here is like no other grocery store I've ever been in, and I mean that in a good way. I was looking for a thing, could not find the thing and asked a staffer. Not only did he try to find it (we couldn't), he tracked me down elsewhere in the store to let me know where it was. What? That's so nice! The store is clean, big and well stocked. I'm going to sound like a freak saying this but I was mesmerized by this store! So big and so much variety. I do not live in NC but this was the best Publix I've ever been in. First off they have a Starbucks inside! Yasss. Second they have a food bar in the middle by the deli and bakery. There's a salad bar, an olive bar, a soup station and a hot food bar. Very nice if you work near by and come here for lunch. They had a separate section for "specialty cheese". That's amazing and its right next to the wine section. They knew what they were doing when arranging this store! I wish all Publix locations were like this one. read more

This Publix is like others in that it's very clean and the employees super helpful and friendly. Also, no card or phone number is required for store discounts. I'd say they are priced a bit higher than my usual Harris Teeter. But, I mostly go here for their prepared meals, bakery and deli. I'm pretty satisfied shopping here. read more

Let me start by saying I love cottage cheese. You have searched for the best and always come back to Publix. I have tried the organic. I have tried so many kinds I cannot count. This particular one is Large curd and it is thick and cheesey. (sp) Too often I find other brands with too much whey. I presume this is an attempt to keep costs down as whey is much cheaper than the actual curds. If you love cottage give this one a try. read more

THE DELI Been living for almost 2 years next to this Publix, literally 6 minutes away and the Deli its the worst I've known. Used to work at the Fort Mill location and they were exceptional, different menus all week, they always had corn nuggets or at least 2 o 3 times a week and they never made up excuses to fry or cook something they didn't have available or sold out. This Publix NEVER has corn nuggets and i just visited today and the clerk told me that asking for more potato wedges could take up to 30 minutes when is not even busy! Like wtf, i was a frier at the Fort Mill location and not even cleaning the deep frier takes so long. Their trays are always empty, like they are not following the meal prep schedule! Such a shame, i thought all the Publix should be the same and run the same way but this one reaaally is faaar from been compared to the other ones. Will definitely keep driving a few extra miles for a better service for sure. read more

Never would have guessed that I would ever order a fresh sub from a grocery store. I usually go to small sub shops around town, today I wanted to try something different and I'm so glad I did! Their subs are AMAZING!!! Everything was fresh and everyone was friendly. While waiting in line, I saw what looked to be a good "southern" hot bar. That fried chicken and potato wages...WOW. I went to Publix on the first visit and was blown away. Their customer service in one word was "exceptional"! I will drive for miles just for their produce!! Tons of buy one get one, the bakery is like no other. Plenty of samples to try. Fancy pastries. The hot bar is loaded with food that actually looks fresh; not like it's been out for a while. A nice seated area to enjoy your meals. They even have a section that makes sub sandwichand they are DELISH! The store is so clean and the meat section smells fresh ! I know I sound like a marketing agent but it's all true. I just wish there was one in my neighborhood. This attendant was extremely rude, as if I had to know where the number to put to make the payment was located. I always enjoy shopping at Publix but after the excellent service today, I love Publix. After one week at home because of quarantine, we decided that our "outing" would be a drive to pick up a few groceries. Returning to our car, we found no response from trying to turn on. The battery died from disuse. At the service desk they called the manager MICHAEL who retrieved jumper cables from his truck and assisted in connecting our car to the battery of a gracious lady who offered help. In no time at all, problem solved and we headed to dealer to replace the battery. Publix employees are always gracious and helpful. Michael went above usual curtesy to rescue a customer in the parking lot. Thank you, thank you, thank you! read more

Publix knows customer service, fresh food, and convenience! When you walk into Publix, be ready to see lots if smiling faces and hear many offers to help you with anything. They often offer my kids a balloon, sticker, or coloring book and crayons. If by chance they don't offer it to us, we ask a friendly associate at the customer service desk and they are always more than happy to give us what we request (usually a balloon). Another reason their customer service is awesome...they let you return any foods you're not satisfied with. No questions asked. The food and cleanliness is always on point! They even have an area for you to enjoy a meal with free wifi. Their soups are DE-li-cious and so are their subs! Yummmm!! They also offer fresh sushi and hot Asian food ready to eat. I dropped off a prescription at this location and told the Pharmacist I was going to wait which was going to be 30-45 minutes. I was fine with that but after hanging around and wandering around the store the other lady behind the counter asked if she could help me. I to.d her I was waiting and she looked in the computer and she said I had 4 prescriptions which was wrong and he had not marked me waiting. Another 30 to 45 minutes and I left. While I was waiting the first time I noticed the pharmacist talking and talking a lot and laughing. I believe he did not have his mind on his job and that is very dangerous in his field. He could really hurt someone or cause a death with the wrong meds. I spoke to the store manager the next morning so hopefully someone will take a look and speak with him. Be aware when you leave with your meds from this store they may be wrong if he filled it. read more

I come to Publix for my lunch break and always order the garlic and herb tofu salad & add hummus. I usually go to the location on southern blvd but I started coming to this one for a week. Today there's a new employee who wants to charge me a dollar extra for hummus when I've been coming here every lunch and paying the same price. On top of that she took 5 minutes to find the Tofu and get everything together and waits right before assembly, after she toasts the tofu, to tell me it's an extra charge. She brings out the manager and she says yes it's a dollar extra and I don't understand because it's not a meat it's a vegetable product and it's "your choice of veggies" whatever throw t away . I'll have Mac and cheese instead . It's 1230 and they don't have Mac and cheese ready til 1pm. Thank you for wasting my lunch break. read more

Publix has made its' way into North Carolina, and after protesting while it was new, I finally caved and went for the first time a couple of weeks ago. On a weekday, mid afternoon the store is pretty empty. But on the weekend watch out! There are just people every where. And I'm pretty sure employees are at a 1:1 ratio to customers because I was asked if I was finding everything ok on every isle. It gets kind of old actually. They don't ask if you want your groceries to be taken out, they just take it out. Sometimes I just think the baggers need a break from being so nice. Their store is very nice. It's easy to navigate, and everything is super fresh. All of the cakes and deli foods are made fresh at the store. You can really taste the difference. It's a nice place to shop, but I do think you get what you pay for. Definitely not a discount store. read more

Publix is a 10 in my book!!! Great, fresh, produce, seafood, and meats, and amazing bakery and BREAD! I cannot get enough of Publix, I will never enter a Harris Teeter again. The customer service is amazing. Everyone is so friendly and you never feel like you are bothering anyone if you ask for help finding something.. If you haven't tried it yet, here's some deliciousness I suggest: Boards head custom subs!! Turkey, italian, and the cuban with a touch of honey butter are delic! The spicy mustard is SO good. The toppings and bread are SO FRESH too. The pickles...omg. yum! Bakery.. everything.. freshly baked bread, pizza dough, muffins, CAKES, chocolate chip cookies. black and white cookies.. need I say more? deli fresh pizza- this is a new one I've tried in the deli area. For 8.99 you get a refrigerated and fresh pizza. SO much better than frozen, and SO yummy. pickles- they have a great selection. Highly recommend the kosher ba tampte brand which is by the eggs, and get the half sours. It's 5 bucks for a jar, but the freshness is great. I could go on and on.. if you live in Ballantyne, you have to switch over from Teeter to Publix and your life will change. read more

The store is always clean, inviting and impeccably stocked. Employees DO go above and beyond and are always willing to stop whatever they're doing to make your experience pleasant. I love how the kiddos always get fresh baked cookies (I always nudge my wee one to "pass" on the free cookies at the other place since they sit in a box out front and who knows how long they sit there???) anyhow, I've rarely had an encounter at Publix that has been anything other than lovely. Everyone at this location is so nice and helpful! I actually feel bad when I turn down assistance. I honestly have 2 other stores that I prefer but both are further from my house, so when I need a convenient one-stop shop, this is where I go. Parking lot is never a problem, plenty of carts at front of store (where they belong, not strewn all over parking lot!), samples (with recipes) everywhere, good generic brand, decent beer selection. I find their meat to be a little pricey so I keep an eye on the promos and sales to time it to get the best deals. read more

This is a great Publix! I was here to get some flowers and cupcakes for my mother- in-law and Nate was a big help! I went through self checkout and it wasn't working so he helped me get through it. Also Starbucks was fantastic and it just opened and it shows. The staff at Starbucks & Publix were both amazing! Both were clean, modern, and bright. As usual, Publix rocks! I'm on vacation from Orlando and it was a nice surprise to find my usual Hispanic ingredients in Charlotte. Being in a different store, I was completely lost but every single employee I encountered was pleasant and helped guide me in the right direction.
