I experience the best service today at Publix near West Paces Ferry and Northside Parkway today. With a newborn at home, we are flexing to new roles in our household which means mommy makes the list and dad does the grocery shopping. On this trip, I ordered a deli sandwich for the first time ever at Publix. The young lady who made it for me was very kind, helpful, and patient with me placing my order. I wasn't sure what to get so got the special listed as the Italian Sub. The 5 grain bread was freshly made and all the ingredients looked freshly prepared as well. The sandwich was extra special for us since my wife could not eat deli meat during her pregnancy. We shared this footlong sammie at home in between feedings of the baby. It felt extra special to have it made by the kind folks at Publix. Picked up some strawberries, bananas, and peaches on sale. The fruit section is small footprint well organized and clean. As I walked out, I wasn't sure where I parked, but a young man helped me with my groceries which is literally a first for me. We chatted a little bit about parenthood and it certainly made my day. Definitely recommend using this Publix for above and beyond service and kind employees. read more

This is a nice Publix near I-75. It's one of their an older store because I know I've been coming here for years... Publix will carry slightly different items according to the neighborhood and this one has a bit more international items and more health food... This Publix is conveniently located near the corner of Northside and I-75 in the same shopping center as OK Café. It's a smaller footprint / convenience sized store...smaller than Sprouts. +. Ambiance is clean, well packed with goods and busy with nearby residents and travelers stopping from I-75, Northside and Paces Ferry. ++. Food-wise, they have major departments less Pharmacy and sushi station. While they are compact, their selections are healthier orientation than their Cumberland store. Sprouted tofu and organics are a larger % of their produce department. Good selections of dairies with higher protein too. Made to order sandwich deli, seasonal holiday foods for Easter and Passover for convenience. + Price is competitive as other majors ++ Service is above average and friendly. Pub Licks are when I get worshipped in the bathroom of the local tavern. This is not that. This is a high price Publix with a fairly safe parking lot to sleep in that is up in Buckhead. I would definitely sleep here again if I had to sleep somewhere in Atlanta. However I try to avoid actually shopping here because of the prices. I did get a few things from here this past time, and it wasn't as bad as some of the locations, had plenty of the things I needed. Just grrrr expensive. read more

I remember when Publix was known as the place "where shopping is a pleasure". There was a time when customers requests were taken seriously, and employees encouraged to do whatever they can to please the customer.... Well, that doesn't happen here. The store footprint is very small, the product selection limited, and they are consistently under staffed. On a recent trip I was 8th in line at the deli....and they only had one person working behind the counter....while one other employee lazily stood just out of sight....not paying any attention to the customers waiting. 21 minutes in line. I asked for a half dozen chicken fingers...and was told the one they had left was all they had. When I asked if they could cook some while I shopped, I was told "sorry, kitchen is closed" (it was 5pm!). On the same visit, at checkout, there were 9 people will fill carts waiting to check out...with only ONE checkout lane open. Publix used to set the standard for grocery retail. Now, they just have nice touchy-feely commercials....the experience no longer lives up to the brand they like to say they are. Very disappointing. I miss the way Publix used to be.... read more

The last two times I shopped here I encountered an employee, Jyree. He spoke to me when I left the store recently. So kind and friendly. While their cakes are good, it is impossible to get through to the Bakery by phone. Called customer service and they couldn't get the bakery on the phone. They suggested I come into the store to order...not convenient and not customer friendly. read more

This has to be on the smallest Publix I have ever been in. There is really no space for the deli and bakery. Does not have an extensive bakery selection like other Publix. Great neighborhood Publix super nice people. Not giant but good sized. The parking lot can be busy as the shopping mall is busy. As a proof statement to the nice people at Publix at this location, I once dropped a 12 pack of soda walking to my car (after turning down their offer to help me out with my groceries) and the sodas burst all over the place. One of the Publix people saw it happen and ran inside and got me another 12 pack. So nice. It was my fault and they still gave me another 12 without me even asking. They get my business! read more

I'm not sure what to say here with all the mixed reviews. At any rate I think we all agree the store is very small. It's small like a drugs store. Some drug stores may be larger. This compact store is very limited in choices. It was clean and appeared very well organized. Thank goodness I wasn't there to purchased a bunch of items. I would have needed to go to a larger Publix. The store is located in an affluent area. I'm not sure why a small grocery store was part of the plan. The parking lot is too small considering all of the other merchants located in the plaza. This includes the historical OK Cafe. The staff was very friendly as well. I'd suggest to never visit after 5 pm I can see parking and trying to find items for a nice meal a nightmare. read more

When I was growing up, this now-Publix was an archaic A&P. I still remember that store fondly for the times we shopped for watermelon (to make our traditional high school vodka-melon after cheerleading camp) and grocery runs for my mom around the holidays and . . . I don't shop here that often now, but did have reason to for my chef boss a few days ago. This is indeed a very small Publix (I'm used to the more spacious one at The Peach) but I thought it worthy of a review because the staff here is SO helpful. I had to get assistance locating a few things and every body from the produce guy to the manager to clerks was super nice. I often do the food shopping for my boss, who does personal cheffing for families, and she always has a very detailed list for me, which often includes things I don't usually buy for myself (red kidney beans or chiles albondaga for example) and/or in very specific quantities so I sometimes need assistance figuring out what exactly I'm supposed to get to make the best use of the client's money. Definitely, NPWH and when I'm in the area, easy choice to shop here! read more

I love this store. I'm from Seattle and it's so impressive with the staff, spotless appearance. I like the pre-made meals as they are delicious, not greasy or gross yet fresh and delicious. I come to this Publix at least 3 times a week for work to get food for my surgery team. Every single time I get food at the hot bar, it takes about 4-6 minutes before anyone even speaks. Now mind you, there are always at least 3-5 people standing behind the counter, simply watching you stand there NOT being helped. And once someone does finally speak to you they take your order and prepare it as if they have nothing else to do or any other customers to help. Quick customer service is clearly not a concern for anyone at that counter. If it weren't for the convenience of the location from my job, I would absolutely not give them anymore of my business. The Deli manager, Allison is actually the only helpful person I've encountered. The assist manager David is just as bad as the other employees who apparently clock in to simply stand around. read more

This place is expensive and small. However the employees are always very nice, especially at the deli counter and the cashiers. Speed is sometimes quite slow which is a problem when you left the office to grab lunch. Produce section is very small so very few people do their normal shopping here, it's more the convenience of picking up a few items assuming you can find a decent parking spot. read more

I agree with previous reviews stating how super helpful and friendly the employees are toward their guests! Yes, this is a super small version of Publix which means the store is super choosy about which items they stock. They do not carry every item under the sun. Yes, the Organic section is tiny. My biggest complaints deal with 1) Cashiers 2) Parking. There are never more than 1 or 2 registers open at a time. Why is that? Don't even try and tell me the store cannot afford more considering how ridiculously expensive everything costs!! With the tiny size of the store, the Manager cannot afford to have more than 3 guests waiting to check out. If a line forms, then everything comes to a halt because there is no room for anyone to shop or move when there are people blocking the aisles waiting to check out. The Manager here at this location does an extremely poor job of watching the guests to see when to open up another cashier. The last 2 times i have shopped there, I have had to stop, leave my cart, walk to the Manager, point at the huge line forming behind the only Cashier open an ask for another Cashier to open up another register! Why is that my job!!!??? I am here to shop. If you want me to do your job then pay me to be the Manager, Publix!! Gees! Please install Self-Check Out!!!! The other complaint is lack of parking but that has to do more with the location. West Paces is a ridiculously high traffic area! Nothing Publix can do about that. Just be prepared to walk all the way from the back of the lot to shop here. I shop here only because I am forced to due to the fact that Publix has a 'monopoly'. There are no other stores in the immediate area. I need to get in and get home so I don't have the luxury of spending all day driving to other stores many miles away. I guess this is why the Manager can get away with the lousy job they do. They have a captive 'audience.' Totally sucks. If I could shop elsewhere, I would. Seeing a Publix light on after battling 9.5hrs on West Paces Ferry was like reaching the Emerald City. I was oh so thankful Publix stayed open during the snow nightmare and not only that, their tired employees worked around the clock to ensure everyone was comfortable and was taken care of. I was able to buy food, water and a flashlight to trek the 3 miles to my destination. I saw they set up computer screens with movies, and brought out their employee microwave for a makeshift station. If you didn't have to deal with the Publix bakery at west Paces ferry you might give them a higher rating star wise. Shopping can be a pleasure at Publix at the West paces ferry Shopping center until you have to ask the bakery person any kind of question. They seem irritated that you have a question and only answer questions with a yes or no. There is just no sense of customer service there. read more

You know what's NOT convenient about this Publix? The fact that I ALWAYS need to go on Wednesdays during senior citizens discount day. While I enjoy all of the entertainment and laughs from observing the elderly flip their shit over a 2-for-1 deal, I MOST enjoy the customer service. An elderly woman could actually spit in a cashiers face and scream out that they DON'T WANT NO HONEY WHEAT 2-for-1, and the cashier would be perfectly calm and respectable. So therefore I keep calm and try not to comment on the behavior of some customers, because I'm certain they get this a LOT. In other news, this is (like each Yelper has stated) the smallest Publix I have ever been in. The plus side? It makes shopping fast and easy for me. Being in a corner location of a shopping center surrounded by boutique(s), restaurants, starbucks, etc, it's probably the easiest place to "pick up a few things". I'm usually a fan of using my Kroger+ card, but this Publix is far too convenient for me to want to drive elsewhere. If I ever need specific items (like produce that I can't find at this teeny locale) I usually have to go elsewhere. Like Whole Foods down the road. read more

We live in the neighborhood so shop there frequently. What I am writing about today is customer service. We found we had a flat tire when we left there last Friday night -- very cold and dark evening and we were not dressed for it. The Customer Service Manager Scott Ferguson jumped right in and offered to help. He got a flash light, helped take the groceries back out of the trunk, find the tools and then worked with another customer to change the tire. Now that is service! read more

Its always clean. Its always got groceries. It does need more organic choices. I love the convenience it has to Starbucks and Willy's. I can easily pop in to the Publix if I need something before heading home. Parking in this lot is sometimes a problem, but that is the sign of a busy and successful shopping center. read more

This Publix is in walking distance of my home and that alone should get it at least three stars! Yes, the store is the smallest Publix you will ever see, But, that's not what pulls this store down. It's the lack of selection, expired products on the shelves, and the inability & apathy of the store management to respond to customer needs. The attitude from their managers puts forward the perception that this store doesn't need to compete for your business because the convenience factor should outweigh all the negatives. There team was very, very, patient and went out of there way to make all of the stranded travelers has comfortable as possible. They got chairs and milk crates for people to sit. As well as made a hot breakfast and coffee and charging stations of phones. There team saved me from what would have been a very cold and painful night in my car. This is, by far, the nicest Publix I've ever been to. And by nicest, I don't mean the fanciest or the cleanest; I mean literally these people are the nicest people to work at a grocery store that is ever existed. Every aisle I went down someone said hello someone asked if I needed help finding anything. The cashiers weresuper helpful and friendly. I picked up some ice cream and didn't see a plastic ring around the lid. I asked if I could go back and look for another one had the plastic. One of the girls who was bagging my groceries went and looked and came back with several different containers ice cream to show me that none of them had the plastic ring they all had plastic over the tops of the ice cream. Totally unnecessary, but much appreciated. These girls definitely went above and beyond to help me and my shopping experience.I didn't even buy any meat, but the gentleman at the meat counter both said hello to me. I was there the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and it was not particularly crowded I only had to wait a few minutes to check out at the counter. And, despite it wouldn't being one of the busiest days of the year for grocery stores, everyone who worked there still had a very pleasant disposition and seemed genuinely happy to help. I typically shop at Kroger to save a few bucks, and I will say that this Publix was notably expensive, however I will definitely return simply because the service here is so outstanding. Their manager should receive some extra props because they have some great people working here. Also, despite being a smaller store, they still have a great selection of everything you could possibly need. The aisles are stacked bad as tight as they could be, but that allows for a great shopping experience where you're able to find everything you need. read more

This Publix Supermarket Location is near my house, so it's very convenient for me. It's also right next to the bus stop where I get off. Most days on the way home I pick up my late lunch there, a sandwich from the deli. I've been coming here a long time, but have only had a Yelp account for a short time. The people there are super friendly, nearly always understand what you're looking for, and always help you out. The deli sandwiches are some of my favorites, with roast beef and peppers. The cashiers are friendly, helpful, understanding, and sympathetic. The fried chicken is also good, and convenient for a night when you don't feel like cooking dinner. I acknowledge that it's small and just a neighborhood grocery, so it doesn't always have what you're looking for: you can get your basic necessities there, but they won't have fancy specialty products like caviar or stuffed grape leaves as you might expect.
