I would recommend public storage to no one. Stay away from this business. They will increase your rate once you've moved in and advertise other identical units at half the price they charge you. Watch for the reply, doesn't matter. Fact is, this is what will happen to you once you've moved have all your stuff moved in. They expect you to take the hit because moving in is too much work. read more

The lock would not work for to get our rv so we asked for help and they were careless

Horrible experience. Do not rent here... You'll get your items stolen and they WILL NOT do anything to advocate for you.

My rent has more than doubled in barely a year. I asked about signing a long term lease to stabilize my overhead and they said they don't do that -- raising the rent over and over is the business model. That's enough to tell you to stay away. When I moved into the unit, there was exposed wiring hanging in the middle of the unit. I had to test and cap it myself. That should have been a red flag. Staff is friendly but there's just problem after problem. Notices for rent increases went to the wrong email. Website/app is down regularly, which affects gate access for some reason. More than once my account appeared deleted and it looked like my unit was no longer leased to me at all. They treat it like a money farm for people without other options. Don't bother. Shop around. You can do better. read more

This is a terrible rental unit facility! There has been severe water damage in my unit, and I have been unable to reach the managers on this despite reaching out multiple times. When I brought the concern to the man at the front desk, he said they are aware of it. It has been an issue, but nobody has had it fixed And nobody is doing anything about it. He also told me good luck reaching the managers they don't call back. My cost of my unit has gone up over $100 since starting. I would not recommend! There are plenty of other facilities in Woodbury to try. Do not waste your money and have your valuables ruined! read more

This is a wonderfully managed storage facility. I have received top notch customer service. Staff has gone above and beyond to assist with my needs. I would highly recommend this facility. read more

Staff are friendly, but the property maintenance is subpar: beer bottles are left lying around, garage doors don't work -- one's been broken for over half a year now! --, and the main gate doesn't work either! I don't know... I rented a storage locker here three years ago and the property maintenance was a LOT BETTER then. I'm not sure how this reflects on the property's security and safety, but during my 9 months here I never had any problems. read more

Don't bother spending the $$ to store here. It's a small property and shouldn't be difficult to maintain considering their fees and single staffed desk. There are no trolleys available to help you move things. The climate controlled areas aren't swept. There is way too much useless vertical space in the storage units. Keypads to get in and out are always broken (there are two and one is always malfunctioning). The desk staff can be jerky jerk faces if you need something from them. Take your $$ elsewhere. read more

We have been a customer for over 4 years of this location. We recently had some of our stuff stolen from this Wooddale Dr, Woodbury, MN location. It was obvious the entry was not through the lock, but by removing the hex bolts from the metal walls above the door. There are markings in the metal consistent with this entry and a makeshift ladder was built inside our unit, from our belongings, to help accomplish the theft. It was further evidenced by some of our belongings dumped out on the floor. A police report was made by Woodbury PD. Dayle the manager immediately dismissed this and said it was not possible and no one would spend more than 30 seconds trying to break into a unit. As a former police officer, I would strongly disagree, based on my experience. Dayle did not seem to care in the slightest and said, "That's why you have insurance". My main concern was that he take this seriously, due to the entry method, which he clearly did not! Dayle has been quite loose with the truth in the recent past and I do not trust him. You get the feeling that Dayle is more interested in getting through his day than caring about his customers. This is evidenced when you have to spend more than 5-10 minutes with him renting a unit. If he has to deal with a problem, you get the distinct impression that customer service is a foreign concept. Dayle refused to simply change the ownership name on our storage unit stating that if we wanted to change the name, we had to physically move our things out and move them back it. He flat refused to help at all and said he'd get in trouble if he changed a first name in their system. There are a lot of storage places in the twin cities area, if I had to do it again, I would not choose Public Storage. read more

Rented from Public Storage during a remodel and have kept the unit for over a year. Just downsized to a smaller unit. Dayle and the other staff are awesome. He helped us work through the transfer even though their phones and computer system were on the glitch. The climate controlled units are great. You can drive your vehicle inside to unload out of the weather. read more

Renting a climate controlled space, and have for several years. Location works well for me. Hallways and common areas are sometimes very dirty, and stay dirty for weeks - sweeping more often would be a good idea. Many light bulbs in common areas are burned out. Whoever is managing the property should get to work. Property has a drive in garage which is very nice for loading/unloading and staying out of the rain/snow. Does not have 24 hour access, so planning a visit to your storage space is necessary. read more

Rented a climate-controlled unit and Dayle, the staff working on day of rental, quickly and professionally took me through the rental agreement and provided me with a good recommendation regarding location of the unit for ease of moving items from moving truck into the unit. The unit we rented was clean and ready for use. Have not been in the unit long enough to comment on regular cleaning and maintenance of facility and the grounds. But so far, so good. read more

Edit of previous 5-star Google+ review: I needed to move from a 5*5 unit to a 10*10 unit. I reserved the unit online with a price of $180/month. When I went to do the paperwork, the price was listed at $220/month. I needed to make the move into the larger unit that evening, so I signed the paper and noted that I had a question about the contract. That was the FIRST issue. The new unit required a new gate code. I took the new code with me and left. Around 7 that evening, after office hours but still within access hours, my mover (whom I was paying by the hour), my boyfriend, and I showed up at the unit. We were able to get into the gate with the new code provided by the office. When we keyed the new code in the box near the entry, I got a flashing "call manager" light. I tried a different entry door and got the same message. That was the SECOND issue. I called 800.44.STORE and spoke with a representative. He told me he didn't know what was going on. He left a voicemail for the district manager and told me to expect a call within 15 minutes. I didn't hear from the DM (this was the THIRD issue), so I called back and spoke with a different representative. She gave me a temporary access code, which didn't work either. This was the FOURTH issue. She sent an email to the DM. My boyfriend got on the phone and restated one of the issues - that we were paying our mover by the hour and his time was adding up. He said that he hoped we would be compensated for this time and the extra costs we were incurring. The rep couldn't guarantee anything (I understand her hands were tied). She promised that she'd make that note in her email to the DM. Meanwhile, my mover's hourly rate was adding up. Around that time another tenant showed up. She was in the PS office getting her new unit at the same time I was. She entered her code and got the same "Call Manager" flashing light that I'd gotten. Instead of calling, she whipped out a credit card, jiggled it a bit, and WAS ABLE TO ACCESS THE STORAGE FACILITY. The idea of messing with a credit card hadn't occurred to me. She mentioned that earlier in her life she had been a burglar. FIFTH issue: what is the point of having a key code if someone can get into the "secure" facility using plastic? She left the door to the facility open, so we were able to move our stuff in. Our old, 5*5 unit was in another part of the building. We were able to get into that part of the building by using a credit card (thanks, burglar friend!), so we moved our stuff out and into the new unit. We'd put a moving pad on the bottom of our old unit. After taking out our stuff, we discovered that the moving pad was wet. I don't know if there was a leak in the roof of the building or if the water was from the neighboring unit. This is the SIXTH issue (am I up to six? I'm losing count): why pay for secure, climate-controlled storage when the units leak? I'm grateful we had the pad so the water didn't trash the items in the unit. I'm storing these items for my grandmother who will be moving to Minnesota in the next couple of months. I don't have time to move to another place, and I can't afford to keep paying a mover to come and sit at this facility. My advice? STORE SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

I worked with Dale on getting into a storage unit just over a month ago when I was in process of moving to a new place. I was very apprehensive about renting from Public Storage (the company as a whole, not the Woodbury location), because of the many poor reviews that Public Storage had received. But I wanted a location that was close to where I was moving. Again, the bad reviews are about the company itself, not the Woodbury location. All I have to say is that I was very impressed by Dale, by the cleanliness of the location, and by Dale's customer service. This location is gated and the units are very secure. I recommend this location and I especially recommend working w/ Dale. The first person (a woman, I forget her name) that I initially contacted at this location never returned my phone call (the reason for 4 stars instead of 5), but my experience w/ Dale turned around what was initially a negative experience. This is a very clean, secure, and professionally-run location. read more
