This was really kind of a disaster. The office was supposed to open at 9:30. I knocked on the door and the woman told me she wasn't supposed to be there and couldn't go to where she was supposed to be. My reservation was here and there was a snow storm so no. I ended up getting in but no instruction at all. Thank goodness I had a knife in my car to cut off the zip tie on the door to open it and find the key. read more

Sad outfit. Says they have certain hours, but often there is not a soul around. Rarely answers phone calls, and upon replying repeatedly refuses to leave detailed information (despite previous conversations inviting such with agent agreeing to leave detailed info on future voicemails) so we are in seemingly endless fruitless phone tag. I was on the phone on a rare occurrence when there was a live human being available to field a call, when another customer came in and reported others breaking into their unit and stealing their stuff. When I moved in the lights outside unit were broken and the electricity does not work in the outlets; it was virtually impossible to position a 24 Foot uhaul to try to use headlights to see where we were walking. A year later I asked that they ensure lights work when I try to move out, and all the site manager could say is that the request had been forwarded to maintenance. After 14 months of the light(s) being broken??? I arrived to pay bill and get stuff out of unit yet no one was there, and because they had put their lock on my unit, I had to cancel my movers and reschedule my exit all while I slept on a hard wood floor in my new place for a week, need to take off work and/or get a hotel, and thus incur ~$500 of additional charges. After spending about 8 hours of my time this week asking for fees to be removed off my account, they placated with taking $40 off. Morally disgusting. I guess they think to 'buy me off' at $5/hour while I have incurred $500 in added expense because of them, let along my time, energy, and suffering expended to address this shitshow. This is after I handed over to them over $2500 this last year to keep my stuff. Assistant managers put through a request for fees to be removed and the computer software IMMEDIATELY denied the request. They have a 'WeCare department' that says that they will get back to requests within 24-48 hours, and they refused such requests after ~55 hours of waiting. They have an apartment on the upper back side of the office. When I was moving in a girl was screaming as a guy was apparently forcing himself on her; she was warning him that he would go back to jail. I along with other customers called the police who forced their way into the apartment to try to save her. I am fairly certain the property manager is that girl that lives above and who welcomed the (ex) criminal onto the grounds. The units are overpriced at ~$200/month for outside large units with no protection against the climate and as I said no workable electricity/lights. Stay away from Public Storage and especially this one! The various managers refuses to give out contact information to each other (ie Regional Manager, or they give out invalid phone numbers) with no promise of follow up by a specific time when I had a tight moving schedule in December considering snow storms and my job. The main call center refuses to communicate through emails when they deny requests for fees to be removed, but instead will call without leaving voicemails. Shady crooked vultures who prey on the Carnegie of souls that walk through their gates. read more

Over priced, $118 for a 10x10. Went up to $148. This was a disaster. This office is never open, nobody is ever available. This is the most HORRIBLE STORAGE FACILITY TO GO TO! No instructions, no explanation of increases, nothing. This is a craphole. read more

I have stored here for the last 5 years and every 6 months or so the storage prices increases. I started at $73 a month and now up to $217. I have successfully reduced the rate twice but this is now ridiculous. Bye, bye bye. read more

I cannot wait to get my items out of this overpriced storage facility. I am paying $203/mo. They demand to be paid on the first of every month. They give no leeway whatsoever. I get one check on the first of the month and that takes care of my mortgage and car. I get my disability check between the 7th and the 10th. Today I got lucky and received my disability so I paid my storage. On my payment page in bright red letters it says your payment is severely late and your items will be going to auction. 3 days is severely late? I am so sick of their threats. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to U-Haul. I don't care for any of the staff in the Arcadian facility. read more

Been with this storage company for a year now. In the past year there have been two price increases the first 60$ and the second I just received a letter about another 40$ hike. That's 100$ in increases in one year! Besides that the customer service I've received has been sub-par. Definitely would not recommend to anyone. read more

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!! I needed a storage unit for a month or until 4/6. I was told by the property manager that I can get a10x20 for just a $1 for my first month, which is also not true. I rented the unit on 3/11 and paid $30 ($1 + $29 one-time administrative fee) for my first month. I expected my first month to get me through 4/11. I received an email about an hour later stating that my first payment was due on 4/1 for $164.10. I went back to the storage facility right away and spoke with the property manager. Now she informs me that it doesn't matter when I got the unit, whether it's on 3/1 or 3/11, my first month was considered only good until the end of that month. This however was not a month (property manager also agrees with me that a month is 30 days), like they advertise. I canceled my storage unit right away and figure I would get my refund. I called the next day to see when I can expect my refund and was told by the property manager that the $30 is a non-refundable fee. I told the property manager that as a professional business, it's a common curtesy to refund my money since I canceled it within an hour. She told me that she will have to contact the owner to see if he can do anything in regard to my refund and will contact me. Currently, it's been 4 days and I'm still waiting to hear back from the property manager. read more

The actual storage facility is fine, as well as the office workers. My issue is with the Manager at this site. Was told I had to pay a $25 late charge due to my Credit Card Expiring (and was on auto payment). Office told me they would raise concern to manager to get waived and was told it was denied (Even though I had unit for over 2 years with no previous late fees). Called several times to discuss matter directly and he never called back - VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Would not recommend this location due to Site Management negligence. read more

Every other employee here does not know how to communicate with their coworkers or how to provide customer service. One person will tell you something and another will tell you no. After reserving a unit online and verifying that I would receive the first month rent for $1 promo, and received a confirmation email showing the same, when I showed up the day of I was told that I didn't qualify and would have to pay full price. I was then over charged for the first months rent by $25.20 and when I pointed that out, Doreen indicated that it would be refunded if I moved out within the month. After moving out prior to month end I was told I would not get a refund and my account still shows a credit of $25.20 that I'm owed. Very frustrating. Different story from each person I interacted with. Lamar seems like the only person to understand the issue but was not able to resolve anything. read more

Set up my online rental of a storage unit due to the pandemic, and received my code on the 1st as promised. Tried to get to my unit, and could not access it due to snow. My unit was in the back of the lot, and there was absolutely no snow removal done. Even got my car stuck just trying to get through the lot. When I spoke to the office, after digging myself out 45 minutes later, I was told they will not have anyone come back out to remove the snow. I decided to call the 800 # to cancel my unit since I haven't even been able to get into it, and was told I had to talk to the local office. Called the local office and the person who answered was extremely rude from the beginning of the conversation, demanding keys (I HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN ABLE TO GET TO THE UNIT TO GET THE KEYS!), and completely lacking any customer service skills at all. No refund will be issued either because they don't issue refunds, even though I HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN ABLE TO GET TO THE UNIT TO USE IT. I highly recommend staying away from this place and going down the road to someone that hires staff that is much more professional and actually cares about their customers. read more

If I could only give a half star I would. Initial application went fine. Parked motor home. Wanted to use our spot to park a car trailer instead. Brought title as required. Since only my husband's name is on the title, they expected me to spend $175 to get a new title. Ended up closing my acct and opening a new one in his name. After only one month, had to repay the startup fees. Two months later, notice of late payment even though my bank said it was sent. Go to office to just pay balance and canceled check with bank. Get there and they said, oh, we did get your check, it was delivered at another business and they finally brought it over. WASN'T my fault, but I still had to pay the $20.00 late fee. Argued, but my account did not qualify for it to be waived. WHAT do you mean not qualify. Made them plow out our spot with the 3 feet of snow in front of it. Pulled out our trailer and went on line and closed account. NOW they want me to pay for last month plus late fee because I did not give the office notice of closure. Contract states, give us 2 days notice, us, meaning Public Storage, does NOT say local rental office. Told them if corporate doesn't contact them, that's Their problem, I am not paying more of their rip-off fess and rent. read more

He was kind and patient with a fairly annoying person in front of me. If you value your belongings, do not leave them here. To start, the promo is misleading. Essentially, you spend time and possibly money to move in, then they slap you with a price hike within five months, in my case for $20 per month. It took almost an hour to get my account set up because the site manager did not understand the computer system, and my rental space has both bugs and water leakage. My space does not show up correctly on my online account so I have had to pay in person, and I have been unable to access the unit because the driveway has been torn up. When you try to discuss anything with the site manager, you will get a blank stare and will be told there is nothing they can do. Needless to say I am moving my belongings to a new, climate controlled space for a similar price. read more

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!! Honestly they should have a choice for no stars cuz that's what this place would get!! THE PLACE IS NOTHING BUT A BUG SCAM!! After the first 2 times of speaking with them/her (after they get your money) NOTHING BUT TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! We moved in our storage unit around the 15th of the month and we chose this storage place cuz "first month is only $1" and we'd only be there till around the 1st but haha ya $1 plus a $25 NON REFUNDABLE deposit which was not disclosed to me until I asked for the deposit back which you are required to clean out the unit sweep etc...so I don't understand why it's NON REFUNDABLE, especially if you do clean it out like your supposed to?! If you need a lock it's another $9 plus your REQUIRED to have insurance which is another $25 for the lowest insurance they have, so total our first "month" was around $56!(we had our own lock) So as we were loading up our truck around the 27th the lady from the office (Sondra) came down to our unit and started asking us "when we were gonna be out" and "reminded us" which again I was never told in the beginning that our payment($99 for a 10x10 unit) was due on the 1st of every month!! So now not only did I pay WAY more then $1 for my first "month" but now my month was technically only two weeks!! We were EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED as we were moving in on the 1st!! So we woulda either had to pay the months charge AGAIN for a couple days or have everything out by the 31st...when I thought I had already paid for a full month! So when I went in to let her know we were out she was again SUPER RUDE! And was like "so I'm assuming EVERY THINGS OUT?" "And you made sure to sweep and clean out the unit, correct?" Like yes I know how to follow rules!! But My question is what did I pay a $25 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT FOR? IF I HAVE TO DO ALL THE WORK OF CLEANING AND EVERYTHING MYSELF? I think I should at least get my deposit back sense I left it better conditions then I got it!! NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!!! read more

We have had a 10x20 unit for over a year now because we are preparing to sell our house, that one filled up and we got a second unit. When setting this new unit up we said we wanted it set up just like the other unit with autopay and even signed the signature pad when setting it up. Today we get a late fee notice of $30 and I called to inquire why. They state that it was never set up for auto-pay and told me to contact our district manager Alexander about it. I explained the issue and he attempted to reverse the charge, but the system would not let him. I was told to contact the main number again and explain the issue. Once I connected, they were not willing to work with me on getting this resolved even after the district manager tried to reverse the fee. This fee was generated due to an issue on their staff when they failed to set up auto-pay as we requested and signed for. The person on the phone said they would not help us because we hadn't had that unit for a year. Worst customer service I have had outside of fast food! Its a shame for them, we sold our house and now need a 3rd unit until we find another house. We are going to go to the U-haul facility down the street. Even if its more expensive, it cant be any worse then the lack of service at this place. read more

During a move, I applied online for a unit with outside access, and was quoted a price, which was confermed by an email receipt. I received move-in instructions with a higher price than the one agreed upon, so during the checkin process, I requested and received signed changes to the incorrect contract. I was also expected to accept a less expensive unit with no outside access for the higher price of the unit I agreed upon because the one they sold me was unavailable. After an arguement, a unit of the correct type somehow became available, so I took it. Despite repeated requests in the following months to be billed for the correct amount, I continued to receive bills for the incorrect amount, and several months later my possessions were held hostage until I paid the higher, incorrect amount, backdated to the beginning of the lease. After presenting the contract, the attendant agreed with me, and unlocked the unit. After paying for my final month, I was told that if I cleared the unit before the 7th of the month, the final bill would be prorated to reflect the unused three weeks, however after removing my possessions and cleaning the unit before the deadline, I was told that it would not be prorated because the bill had already been paid, so I rushed to clear the unit only to pay them for three weeks of nothing. Gate was open when we arrived last week, found our camper broken into, damaged and batteries stolen. Very noticeable.
