The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. I was able to get the unlisted number from the robot on text message. 813-773-6473. I have called at least 10-20 times and no one will call back. I keep getting bills in the mail and I do not have a storage space anymore. I am lost for words. The facility is clean, well-lit, and feels very secure. The app is very easy to use and the temperature control makes it great for storing everything from furniture to art. read more

Went to Public Storage to obtain a space and spoke to Dell. He was extremely professional. He showed me several of the storage facilities so I could choose the correct size. As I was unloading some items, I noticed him sweeping and picking up the grounds. The facility is clean and there are cameras so I can feel safe. Thanks Dell for your help. read more

My move in was fine but I could tell from the beginning that I would have issues. I had an emergency and only needed the space for a few days, so I wanted to cancel right away. First, my next payment was due before the actual first 30 days, which I consider a month ended. I set the cancel date. Why did I get charged a week after my cancel date for the unit. I thought this might happen and blocked public storage automatic payment from my account. I am looking at my account and it says planed cancelation..Dec 2024 but next payment is due.. Jan 2025, make it make sense. This payment system has "scam" like qualities programmed. read more

I can sleep at nights knowing my personal household goods stored at the Life Storage off of Bruce B Downs are safe. I have had my entire household stored for going on 2 years while traveling as a nurse. I never have to worry about if anything is damaged. The facility is well maintained, brightly lit & clean hallways as well as an easy access to my storage unit. The location is in a safe area where I don't feel threatened or scared to go anytime of the day. The staff at the Life Stage goes behind and above to meet the needs of their clients. I left my key to the storage unit in St Louis and Joe took his time to take care of the problem right away. He engaged with me and tried to understand how to pronounce my difficult ethnic name and asked if he pronounced it correctly. To me that shows he truly cares about people living in the community and to understand the diverse cultures and the people he caters to at the Life Storage. I had lots of questions about down sizing the unit and take advantage of any new promotions they might had. Joe patiently explained many options and took the time to show me different units. I do believe the prices are a bit on the higher side but I am absolutely ok with paying more for a trusted, safe and friendly business who stands by their values and delivery of services. No property management on site. We moved out of our unit, did everything correctly online to complete the move out, but it still shows we are in the unit and they are trying to make us pay for it! The system online asks if we want to cancel our move out, but the date has already passed, we moved out, swept the unit clean and the unit has already been rented to someone else. Property manager does not return phone calls. Tried to do online chat with their non-existent customer support and it disconnected right after I was greeted by Chyna. You cannot speak to anyone in person. Their customer service line takes you to the property manager for that property. AND THEY DON'T RETURN PHONE CALLS. Cannot recommend this location at 16217 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa to anyone. read more

This place is awful. It has always been in disrepair but it's close so, I use it. Last week I brought some boxes to store and found the elevator broken. This after I unloaded my vehicle and brought everything to the elevator and stacked it as there per usual were no carts available. So, I loaded everything back into my truck and then back into my house. Today, I tried again only to find the elevator still broken. I looked for stairs but found none. I found a second elevator but it was full of items from a moving truck so, I thought I'd just go back later in the evening. Now both elevators are broken. I did run into an employee to ask if at least there were stairs that I had missed but was told no. So, anyone with storage on the upper floors is SOL. I'm sure they will want to withdraw the payment though. Has to be the poorest run facility in town. read more

I used this public storage because of how conveniently located it is, but I've had a horrible experience. One of their elevator has been down for MONTHS. We tried to move some large furniture items recently and both elevators were down. This is on top of frequently broken gates, broken doors, and trash blocking entrances. I've attempted to get in contact with management several times and they have never called or emailed me in response. This place is run down and needs new management. Don't rent here. read more

I rarely gives reviews but Jose and Angela or Great. I had double booked storage unit and Angela was so friendly over the phone she helped me to cancel one storage unit and gave me the other unit that I wanted for the same price. Jose was on site when we arrived and he was friendly and showed us to our unit and how to set up the lock. Even though this is a self-service storage unit Angela and Jose do a great job of managing both sites on North Dale Mabry. I give the maintenance upkeep and cleanliness of the buildings to both of them and their hard work. read more

I called the location where my storage unit is being rented from only to be treated like scum. I called to inquire the difference in my monthly charge so that I can understand the reason why i was receiving different bills for three consecutive months. the moment I went to clarify the information the rep provided she became irate and would not let me speak even after I kindly reminded her it is rude to interrupt people especially customers. She then proceeded to scream at me and over me restating the information that she gave earlier the. Hung up on me. I wouldn't rent at the 16217 N. dale Mabry location you will be treated like scum and disrespected. This is one of the best self storage places I have used. The facilities are very clean, and they have plenty of sizes to accommodate any needs for storage. The staff is very friendly and helpful. So why not 5 stars?... they only open until 9 PM. Most other storage places allow you to go in 24 hours to get your stuff! I mean, its coded, there's cameras, the units are locked! Another reason: fees aren't so transparent, that $1 for the first month turned out to be like $60 after all the fees, lock, mandatory insurance and I'm sure there's an etc. in there somewhere. read more

Updated review..I was being too generous on my last review. This place needs a good scrubbing. Everything seems so dirty. Bugs, trash laying around all the time. Being from a property management background I understand how it works. I tried entering my unit several weeks ago and noticed a key was broke off in my lock. Went to the office but they didn't open until 10am. Came back that afternoon and was told I was responsible for the replacement lock of $20. I showed the employee that both of my keys in my possession were in tack and they could clearly look on the entrance/exit log and see I havnt been anywhere near the facility in weeks. I'm sure it's in the paperwork somewhere so I agreed reluctantly. I was told the district manager was the only person that could drill locks. Had to wait until 5 pm that afternoon. Upon returning the next morning I noticed all the debris and shards of metal still on the ground next to my unit. You mean to tell me the district manager left that mess. That's a bad practice. The rates have gone up slightly and I can't imagine what for. I'm experiencing worse service. If it weren't for the proximity to my house I would have already switched. read more

Very nice space, good service perfect location and security.

My initial experience was very positive. Brandi was extremely friendly and very professional in handling a few questions I had about the rental procedure. The unit was clean when I looked at it and the location is very convenient. I did have a problem with being forced to buy a $10 lock for almost $22, especially when I can't use it any place else. I also thought the $15 monthly charge for only $3000 worth of insurance coverage was very high. Creating an online account was very simple and having the ability to pay online is definitely a plus. I do agree with some of the other criticism about only being open until 9pm - very inconvenient if your work hours aren't regular. Overall 4/5 for the experience and Brandi's customer service. read more

The folks that work at this location are great. I have no complaints about them at all. What I was very disappointed about is how Public Storage raised their prices. They get you in a low amount then keep raising the prices. I just emptied by storage shed on June 19. I paid for the month of June. They would not prorate my unit, so basically I paid for 1/2 a month that I didn't use. Guarantee that they will rent that unit right away because it is in such a prime location. So get they get to double dip on my large unit. Not happy about that. I am now with a different storage company and they have no problem prorating units. read more
