What a find! The rates were very competitive and the facility was modern, secure, safe and clean. But what really sets this business apart is its top notch customer service. Maria and Julio really set the bar when it comes to customer service. They are both polite, professional, friendly, competent and efficient. And this is EVERY time I've had occasion to interact with them - from when I first negotiated my rental to setting up my account to finally closing the account when the weather improved and I no longer needed to store my car. I hope management reads this as both Maria and Julio are consummate professionals that any business should want to represent them. I have zero affiliation with them personally or with this business, but I really think their exceptional service should be recognized. I will absolutely return if I have any further storage needs. I also appreciated the flexible lease terms - month to month was very convenient for my needs. Glad to have this business in Darien!

By the way, their site adverises 562 5 star reviews, but you should read some of them. You won't see mine, I'm betting. It started with the every-three-months rent increases. If I'd stayed, I would be paying close to $7,000 a year for a 10x15 space with no electricity at a storage site where the front gate hasn't been reliably closed in over a year. The tenant over me decided to store two large bags of ice melt which liquified and dripped into my space causing hundreds of dollars of damage. Another tenant (same one?)) complained that the generator I used to keep batteries charged was leaving "smoke" in the climate controled area. That wasn't true, but I bought outdoor cable covers and moved the generator 30 feet away against the fence. A year later I get a call telling me that "corporate" didn't want anything "electrical" going on and that I couldn't use the generator. Note that I used a Furman industrial power surge protector (for trickle chargers...).Funny thing: at least two other renters used their generators at the same site. I needed to get tree sap off my wife's car and all my cleaning equipment was at Hawthorne. Site manager sees me and says "This isn't a car wash". He also related that another tenant had complained that I had washed a motorcycle there. Horrors! US Storage is at least the fourth owner and operator of this site, and they successfully drove me out. NIce work.

I haven't been able to get important things when I needed them. The numbers they give you to call don't work - no one responds and don't even bother with email. Temperature control - we are on the third floor and for years I have been asking them about the temperature control. The first floor, the floor they probably tour, has excellent air-conditioning to an extent. Third floor has so much humidity and heat I had paintings that rolled up.
