I reserved a unit and immediately moved in my boxes just over a week ago. The online reservation was quick and easy and the online discount was nice. On first arrival, Tiffany at the desk was very friendly and helpful and answered all my questions. Since then I've had no issues. The location is proximal to my location and the access hours are quite convenient. My only qualm, and the reason this received a 4-star rating, is because of the insurance-fee that was not advertised in the original price. The insurance was compulsory, and there weren't many options for coverage, so I feel like I spent more than I wanted to for a 5x5 storage unit. Other than the insurance issue, I am quite satisfied with Public Storage. read more

I would put zero , but this is horrible. customer service says one thing ,and apparently not true keep charging ppl, when paid, according to customer service on a recorded line adding double lock saying that there is a balance. been trying to get access for a while. read more

I wouldn't rent here again. The space had holes in the wall and the string to turn on the light wasn't long enough. The rent was increased exponentially on me every year. Taking advantage of the situation. Worst of all, as I was cancelling my near 3 year time renting here. I was charged for a month of overpriced rent that I didn't even use. read more

This is a HORRIBLE location. It's a Bunch of Junkies that lives onsite. They will steal your items. I spoke to the front desk about my stolen items. She didn't Care! And Neither did the District Manager PHILLIP! He hung up on me. Rent From Extra Space Instead! read more

I was supposed to move in there on Feb. 17th, 2025. But things changed and I called on Feb. 15th, 2025 and told them I wasn't going to move in till March 1, 2025. Instead of being. understanding. they pulled my payment and said "To bad you're gonna loose the money you've already paid in" Which is completely wrong! I haven't even moved in yet and they're already playing games. I sent my parents over to get things set up. For me and they said they sat there for hours and the place was locked up during mid day and they couldnt reach anyone. This place is obviously mis managed. read more

Great customer service, prices for the units are competitive for the area. The facility is centrally located in southside VA.

Unfortunately I cannot give a lower rating. I have been a customer of this location for more than 20 years. Every time I try to contact someone they never return a call. You cannot even get their system to do the "forgot your password" help. They advertise a rate of 67/mo for a 5x10 but as a 20+ year customer they are charging me $ 186. They do all they can to make reaching them a challenge and then provide no assistance whatsoever. I have never experienced such miserable treatment in my life and that covers some time. Don't blame COVID, that is not an issue, their customer service has always been bad. Someone once ran into their mailbox on the street and they did not even go to the post office to pick up the mail and their checks in payment They just sent late notices and late charge bills. Avoid, avoid, avoid read more

Monet was awesome to deal with. She helped me with a situation that the 800# was unable to help with after talking to 4 different operators. She had me taken care of in a few minutes and was friendly during the confusing process. I would stay with public storage just because of Monet's customer service. read more

Moving in was a slight issue. There was unadvertised insurance fees, upon moving. Also, the unit leasing price seem to increase every three (3) months. Not sure if this is a tactic to discourage long time use or yet another way for American business to scam their patrons. Tiffany does the best she can. But, her professionalism is lacking (I expect it in the state of Virginia). The biggest issue is the lack of solid communication. The unit has been leased since 2013. Since I do not live in Virginia, I do everything on line. I have updated contact information on several occasions, to no avail. Finally, I receive a call when the unit is "in auction status". That was quite poor. Additionally, a barrage of late fees that I have had to dispute over the months. Lastly, some strange dust-like items mysteriously fall on top of boxes in unit. I would not recommend Public Storage for any needs over one (1) month. Thank you for your time. read more

This place/company is the WORST. You MUST purchase insurance (which you aren't told about this when starting the rental process), if you are a DAY late they will cut off your lock. According to them they MUST do this to put on THEIR lock, which is NOT true. They don't return phone calls. Basically they seem to make up the rules as they go along. read more

Terrible place to store. Units are old ,beat up and some stink. I was told I had to pay for a whole month when only one week was left in the month when inquiring about renting a unit. Person in charge did not seem to be knowledge when asked questions. Rent was about the same as other competitors who have much better and newer units read more

Angela was a great help. I was coming from out of town and had no problem finding a space that fit our needs. The transaction was seamless and easy. There was also no problem navigating a large truck through the rows. The photos online however need to be updated as they don't give a clear and accurate representation of the place. read more

This is my second time renting from the place. The new manager, Angela is excellent. Very personable and responsive. I just wish the owner (who appears to double as something god a maintenance guy) was around more for lock cutting/light fixture help and the price of a lock (21 bucks) is excessive. I also don't like the fact the facility isn't 24/7 access. It's my property 24/7, I should be able to access it anytime. If not for the great service Angela provides, I probably would have left after the first month. People do business with people they like. read more

Very awesome customer service and competitive prices. I Worked worth Desmond, and he was very informative and even allowed me to ship around

Bonny was GREAT, down to earth, and very up beat. She provided accurate information with a smile and a Beautiful Personality. Goooooo Bonny!

The price of these units are by far the best in the area. Tiffany was extremely helpful and personable which makes the experience just seem easier. read more

Absolutely horrendous. Do NOT rent a storage unit from this public storage location. After three months of storage, all of my furnitures were ruined by water damage and molding. I had to throw away all of my belongings as they were falling apart or eaten away by the green, spotty, moldy mess. My mattress, drawers, tables, chairs everything. Prior to moving in I noticed water on the floor of the unit and the manager of the property told me it was due to "power washing", which was a complete lie. Clearly there was water leaking from the ceiling and down the walls. I could tell as the wooden wall paneling looked like they were wet. While moving I notice there were colonies of small beetle like insects infesting underneath my furniture. Disgusting, moldy, and smelly... a HEALTH HAZARD. I should have worn a mask. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Don't trust Public Storage. All they want to do is push their products to you. $1 first month's rent? Right. Hidden fees and administrative charges make the first month's rent more expensive than any other months'. They will make you buy their public storage lock and key which costed $30 itself. They will make you sign up for a montly insurance program. Which, I made a claim for my damaged property. The agent responsible for my claim was rude, unfriendly, and blabbed about how busy she was with other claims. It was clear that she did not want to deal with my claim, as if it was a chore. Based on other reviews of Willis, they will not insure you the maximum coverage, and usually a fraction of your items are covered. Don't get sucked into buying the insurance program public storage offers. Rather, get renters insurance for off site coverage. Again I am never using public storage again and would never recommend it to anyone. read more
