Sharon the manager is excellent to deal with. She is personable and professional, knows her business and you can tell she enjoys her job. It's a pleasure dealing with her in every respect. I've been storing just on the other side of the freeway for more than 10 years but the management has gotten shaky, the buildings were getting run down, and there were always units open with blankets hung over the front to hide whatever was going on inside. This storage facility is clean, well run and very secure. I feel my stuff AND I are safe again. They trick customers into the door and have difficulty leaving. In November 2025, my rental rate for a 20' connex was $224. In March 2026, they did not notify me except through the statement the rate increased to $249. Then three months later, they raised the rent again to $324! They said it was to match the market rental rates for month to month based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI). They never told me they had a variable rental rate. Typically, the rent rates are fixed. They can literally change the rent at their leisure to any amount because they know customers can't just move out immediately, holding customers hostage to pay the rent. This has nothing to do with the staff. They are great, but the company business plan is ruining it for their customers. After realizing how they did the bait and switch on me, I am compelled to let everyone know my First Amendment Rights to notify the public. I did my research and this is why I am moving my stuff out of there immediately! Public Storage blurs the line between general market inflation (CPI) and their own algorithmic pricing model, which relies heavily on customer inertia. While inflation does drive up their baseline operating costs like property taxes, utilities, and labor, referencing the Consumer Price Index (CPI) is a corporate justification for a highly deliberate revenue-maximization strategy. The Real Mechanics Behind the Rent Hike The "Sunk Cost" Trap: Corporate self-storage facilities actively rely on the fact that moving your items requires time, physical labor, and truck rentals. Because moving is a massive hassle, they know most customers will absorb a 20% to 40% price hike rather than spend a weekend relocating their belongings. The Bait-and-Switch Model: Public Storage regularly offers steep, unsustainable discounts to get new Rancho Cordova customers in the door (e.g., "$1 first month" or low online-only specials). Once you are moved in, your month-to-month contract allows them to systematically raise your rent to "market rate" to make up for those initial promotional losses. Managers often have localized authority to extend your current rate for an extra six months just to keep the unit occupied. Not leaving a customer review, but this is a message to the company! The lights installed this year blares through our bedroom window at night. All the buildings in my apartment complex that are facing your business can vouch for me that this is truly a nuisance and becoming unbearable at this point. We can't even have our blinds open at night to let any cool air in because the lights are too damn bright and blinding. It's been a nightmare with this heat! Not every one can afford to run their A/C 24/7, especially in this economy. I understand you are a storage company, but are those specific LED lights and that many of them really necessary? It doesn't stop it from getting broken into anyway! We have to get up early for work and these lights are disrupting our sleep! On top of that, your security alarm constantly goes off for hours as well. Whats up with that? Get it together! How about you guys try sleeping with these lights high beaming in your FACE all damn night! This is so ridiculous. Can they get any brighter??? They are ripping people off. I moved in going through a bad situation with Domestic violence, so I had to move ASAP to save my life I told them I was moving out on the 5th of July, they charged my card for the full amount anyways and now they are say that they don't prorate rent so people are being ripped off for over a hundred dollars at a time and I don't recommend this to anyone. I think it's a waste of time because there's so many fake ones out there just meant to boost business get crappy world out there but honesty is detectable and honesty is detectable and above all things this place was professional because I usually come with a problem that is very far from a routine transaction or anything like that. There's a borderline personality I always do that with every business and every store and if I have a problem and I need help it's always a problem that they've never had or very rarely deal with. When I moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to Sacramento, I had quite a bit of extra "stuff". This Public Storage is only about 4 miles from where we are renting and it has easy access to/from the freeway. Six (6) years ago is when I first met the storage facility manager Sharon. I have interacted with her on a number of occasions during this stay and I can attest to the fact that she seems to really enjoy her job. Sharon and I have discussed the amount of space that I might need and got me a unit that is just right. We are going to eliminate some of the items in storage and it . require us to downsize our unit. She works with us to get us exactly what we need. Horrible customer service, false advertisement, and unfair fees used to take advantage of customers during COVID-19. I've rented from public storage before with no issues, but after this experience ... never again. Due to covid, I rented a 10x13(estimated) storage unit. My agreement started on 10/30, pymt was taken out of my bank on the 26th. I went to the unit when I was informed it was ready. I attached pic the unit was maybe 5x10 of usable space, the rest of the "space" was angled off and not usable at all for boxes or furniture. Had I known I never would have rented the unit F046 at Mather Field in Sacramento, CA. There should have been pictures or a disclaimer. I spent almost a month leaving voice messages for the district Mgr Marcus Cooley and his supervisor Devon Dents regarding a refund which I never received a call back. All anyone could tell me is a refund, no amount, was pending approval. My 5th call made today 11/23/20, Meg was able to tell me that refunds take 4-6 weeks, I won't get back an administrative fee for the services provided and I had to pay for 1 day of use. So because of a falsely advertised space and poor procedure and even worse customer service I was charged $35.53. Thanks Public Storage read more

This is the 2nd time that I've rented here. Both times I dealt with Sharon - always a positive experience. Very helpful and professional. I will continue to rent here. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the seemingly constant police action at the Days Inn hotel next door. The good news (depending on your point of view, of course) is that the Rancho Cordova police are Johnny on the spot. (Don't mess with the Rancho Cordova police.) And I noticed a previous review that mentioned a break in and that the security system wasn't up to par. Well, it's been fixed and everything is now under constant surveillance. This is absolutely the worst storage facility I have ever encountered. DO NOT rent here. We had a break-in in our unit about a month ago and their surveillance monitor was not working. We could not play back the footage of the truck and the person responsible for the theft. To this day over a month later, their monitor still doesn't work. After my stepdaughter's boyfriend called to ask about renting a unit, they falsified information saying that they have cameras set up all around the facility when in actuality there are only two cameras. One at the gate one in the office. We found another unit three units down from ours that had a lock on it but you could open the door as ours looked like. I always lock my lock. The manager told me she had secured my unit with one of her locks which means she had access to take my lock off to put her lock on and you could only get one lock on that unit. It might be an inside job. I found a cheaper facility which is incredible a few miles away by the name of SUPERIOR STORAGE on sunrise Boulevard this place is amazing... climate controlled ...double alarmed and an 8500 Volt fence. One more thing ...While the manager of this Public Storage facility noticed somebody in our unit, she failed to call the police when I ASKED HER TO do so ...the criminal got away. I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend this facility, it is absolutely the worst. They say they do lock checks every day ...well . they fail miserably at it. read more

Great prices, clean facilities, and easy access location. However, I do not think that they can technically say, "You have to either pay for our lock or buy something from the store"... Absolutely amazing service. This was my first time renting a storage unit and Sharon, the manager there, made it so simple. She was so nice and made sure I knew exactly what I was getting with the storage unit. Sharon just asked me a few questions about the future use of the unit so that she could recommend me a size to fit my needs and then showed it to me to make sure I was satisfied. The facility at 3200 Mather Field Rd in Rancho Cordova is the best storage company I have rented from. Sharon is an awesome on site manager. I have been coming to this facility since 2012 when I moved to California. If anything, you would think that this is her own personal facility. She always answer any questions or concerns you may have. She has always been helpful with the size of the storage that I need when I over stuff my home, lol. She is super friendly and she keeps the facility clean. Per my previous experience at other storage units I have rented during my travels, this one is 100% acceptable and the only one I will rent from. I have always felt very safe with items stored at this facility. I have never lost anything or had a break in.
