Stay away, buyer beware. The app updated while I was trying to use the access feature, and a pop-up appeared offering 24 access appeared. There wasn't a way to get out of it, and they took $50 out of my account. I called and said I wasn't interested, and was told they don't do refunds. I was also told that they cancelled the access and I wouldn't be charged again. Well, guess what, another additonal $50 charge this month, and a "tough luck" from the property management. They can't cancel it, and I have to do it with the app. But, the site says "If you'd like to disable your access upgrade give us a call". I can't wait to empty the unit out, and never deal with these liars once and for all. read more

Buyer beware, I didn't get the first month free and my rental rate went up $170 in just 3 months. You are quoted 1 monthly rate online and get another shortly after due to their "Rates are subject to change clause"... this goes for every Public Storage I've ever rented from. I'm going to have to take my items out of their units and store them elsewhere. The rates are just too high and I fear they'll get even higher still. I'm already paying more than $800 a month to store my items. Also, when they call and leave a message and you call back nobody ever calls you back, and I mean "ever"... they all run this way. You either get a call or you don't... it's a gamble. read more

The place is very clean and perhaps overly secure. The entry code box is a bit close to the gate, but not badly so. The only thing is the App keeps telling me I need to pay, when the website shows I am paid up and I am signed up for auto pay... read more

The facility at Ritchie Hgwy in Pasadena appears to be totally self serve. When you need a manager, you need to wait 24-48 hours for a return phone call after talking with customer service. Beware also, rates increase yearly and are increased to the point it's cheaper to rent a new unit and move your stuff. Nothing like being appreciated for being a customer! They've also just "updated" their security. Now we are going up and down on the elevator because we have multiple units on different floors. Granted this is not a typical case, but it is a royal pain. read more

This is for the Public Storage on Ritchie Highway in Pasadena. Initial rate was discounted but as others have noted, increased significantly over time. We supposedly had a climate controlled space, but upon moveout discovered there was a large leak in the unit, which destroyed a framed picture and soaked 4 boxes which had to be repacked in new boxes to be safely moved out (thankfully they were mostly clothes which just had to be washed and dried once we got to our final destination). Other boxes would also have been damaged, but luckily we had used plastic bins for most of our items. The manager did apologize for the leak and wrote up a report so we could file an insurance claim, but we feel Public Storage should have at least offered some money back for not providing the climate control we paid for. Also, though there are restrooms, they are always locked, so unless the manager is on site, you are out of luck if you need a bathroom during a long move in or move out. Based on this experience, we would not use Public Storage again. read more

Very accommodating and friendly, will use Public Storage again and recommend it to everyone. But I have one major complaint, I got lost for over an HOUR on the first floor (the property manager was checking units) trying to find an exit or the elevator. I just kept going in circles, I was almost in tears, I had someplace to be that I was now late for but instead was lost in a Public Storage building. PLEASE put down colored lines on the floor for the public to follow, like yellow to Lobby, blue to the elevator, red to the exits, green to the bathroom, orange to the stairs, black to a map ....and so forth!! read more

When I originally rented my unit it was a very affordable rate. Riding rates multiple times a year started to feel like I was being penalized for being a customer. I set up automatic payments to assure on time payments. I closed my unit because I don't feel it's fair to continually raise prices unless you specify you don't want long term customers. The clerks were always very friendly especially today when I moved out but I disagree with your greedy prices. read more

What sort of facility doesn't secure the premises and figures they can't be held liable for a break in. They don't even have cameras in front of the units. Ridiculous!! Disgusted!!!!! I reserved a unit online. I received a call from Nancy to make an appointment to see the unit. I arrived on time and Nancy was ready and waiting. Nancy was kind, knowledgeable, and very helpful. She suggested other packing items that I might need when moving my items into the storage unit. She helped me stay within my budget and went over all contacts, other costs, and insurance policy. After finding a 3'x3' hole cut with wire cutters in our unit's wired ceiling and items missing and crushed, customer service was deplorable. Police called and commercial breaking and entering case filed. A crime scene investigator needed unit empty to test further. We had a unit right near entrance. They wanted to charge us MORE for a same sized unit unit FARTHER AWAY. And we were supposed to empty the entire thing. There are no cameras above the units. Basic customer service would offer a comparable unit with a DISCOUNT after such an incident. The district manager was called, Tamika Thompson, after we asked for a manager and she reiterated charging us more to more. Completely unacceptable and worrying. Is it possible that your employees previously worked for United Airlines? While we were not dragged from the premises, we waited for three hours with no resolution. We will be moving out soon. Our advice, don't use this facility. Ever. If you do, buy the most expensive insurance option. And make sure your policy covers contents of such units. read more

Maggie & Nikki in the front office were great. But the move in area and facilities are not well maintained. Filthy dirty, only 3 old battered move-in carts, lights out on the third floor, panels missing in the elevators, not cool enough even though you are paying for climate control. Extremely disappointed in my move-in which will affect how long I will put up with these conditions. Their competitor around the corner is clean, well maintained, newer, friendly and reflects a company that is running a business not just taking the money without keeping up the property. read more
