The staff is incredibly helpful! Working with David as I navigated renting a much smaller unit was so easy! He showed me the different sizes to help me decide. He then helped choose a space close to my existing unit for a MUCH easier move. He helped me save money, was encouraging in my goal to really downsize, and came by my locker each day I was cleaning out to say a quick hello, and offer encouragement on what was a very large, and long overdue on my part, sorting through of my things. Thanks many times over to David! I know the size of the new space is a much better fit for my needs - a great value! BEWARE AT ALL COST! DON'T EVER USE THIS COMPANY, MY STORY WILL BE HEARD. 1. December 7th,2023, I informed the staff of mice feces on my car and on my property in unit 0082 and was provided four small poison mouse food to just throw into the unit 0082. There was no urgency or care on their part to inform an exterminator even though I requested one. 2. December 9th, 2023, Property manager David was unaware of the situation because the staff didn't inform him. He informed me that he would contact an exterminator and call me so I can open my unit(s) so the exterminator can enter it. I found out that wasn't the normal protocol that was supposed to happen as you will see below. 3. The property manager in addition told me not to worry because if there is no food in the units they will die. That must be the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard. 4. December 11th, 2023, Property manager David informs me that I must change the lock with a key access and one spare key to be provided to him to allow the exterminator in. 5. December 14th, 2023, a key was dropped off to the property manager to have access to Unit 0082 and I requested an update of when the exterminator was going to come out. I was informed by David he had placed a ticket request with the district/regional manager, and I quote "there was nothing else I could do". 6. December 14th, 2023, I called customer service 1-800-688-8057 only to find out that in truth the property manager David never placed any request to the district/regional manager. Customer service told me they would escalate the situation but couldn't inform me when the situation would be addressed. 7. December 15th. 2023 I called customer service again asking for the regional manager to call me and when would the exterminator be out to resolve the problem. 8. December 17th. 2023, I had to go to unit 0082 and install by own mouse traps a total of ten with bait. Order of rodent feces and urine is unbearable to breathe. See Amazon order on page three with copy of order placed. 9. December 18th, 2023, the district/regional manager Scott McBrian left me a message that he was informed by customer service of a complaint. Keep in mind he received no information from anyone on the property of the rodent issue. 10. December 19th, 2023, I spoke with the district/regional manager Scott McBrian at around 6am and basically, he informed me they sent out a pest control company on December 18th called Terminix and that mouse traps were set up. 11. December 19th, 2023, I visited unit 0082 and discovered that there were no mousetraps from any pest control company that I could visually see. Photos were taken and only mine are there. In addition, I could hear rodents moving around my property. 12. December 19th, 2023, I called customer service again and they said their computer systems only says that a pest control came out. It doesn't specify if they only did an inspection or if they did any work by setting up mouse traps. 13. December 21st, 2023, Spoke to Terminix and their customer Service department informed me that if they go to a commercial/business site that some type of rodent control trap would have been left. Further lies by Public Storage. Visited the units and the smell alone is unbearable and there are rodent feces all over my property. 14. December 23rd, 2023, Due to the lack of support from Public Storage I was forced to remove my property that was undamaged and store it in an indoor storage facility. Damaged property was left in the unit, and I made the district/regional manager aware I wasn't removing it due to the lack of effort on their part. 15. December 23rd, 2023, Photos below shows that there were rodents in the unit 0082/0083 since I caught one in unit 0082 and I could hear them running around in the units next to mine. Photos below show rodent urine, feces, and property that was chewed up and destroyed due to a lack of effort from the merchant Public Storage. 16. The financial impact to me that day was being forced to rent a moving van from U-Haul A DAY BEFORE Christmas eve, a day before flying out for the holidays, fuel and move into a storage unit that would cost me monthly more money. read more

David was amazing in explaining, helping etc. I do not need self storage now, but if I have such need I will return to LaSalle location. read more

I got charged for a unit that I had to cancel and was promised a refund since I opened 3 additional Units. They ended up charging me still, then the bank disputed it because there were 4 other unauthorized charges that they couldn't explain, so they sent me to collections for $30. We were supposed to pay $1400 total for the units but they ended up getting over $1800 from us.. then an addition 30. Someone named Alfred "helped" me by being really rude and nasty. Guys the people that run this facility are bad. Do not trust them. They have horrible client care, and every time I've talked to them (mainly this one woman) over the phone they've been rude and unhelpful. They are very very very difficult to get ahold of over the phone AND in the office. If you have any issues or problems come up with your unit, do not rely on them to be helpful or understanding. It's very clear they only care about making money and ripping people off. I had extenuating circumstances making it impossible for me to move out on any other day than the 10th of that month. Not only were they unwilling to give me a discount (which was to be expected with most storage places), they were really nasty and mean about it over the phone. They admitted that even if I paid for the entire month, if my stuff was gone on the 10th, they will sell the unit before the month is up. They did not seem to give one ounce of care to client retention. I removed my lock on the 1st of the following month, and they charged me AN ADDITIONAL $58 claiming I checked out on the 2nd. There was no one in the office when the lock was removed to confirm move out, and I verbally confirmed over the phone with them that I was checked out that day. Here's the thing: I'm currently abroad and not about to risk ruining my credit score or wasting money with an international call just to get them to take the charge away. I'll pay the ludicrous "overdue balance", which is 3/4 of my monthly payment. I'm done with them. I'm done with this horrible bad business they conduct. They need to replace management at this facility ASAP. Seriously, do not trust these people. read more

I have been with Public Storage in Naperville in a 10x15 unit for less than two years. Every Six Months they raise the rental fee and over the two years has gone up 100% of what i was paying and what i currently pay. I would not trust Public Storage at all. The type of business they are in is for quick turn around profit in the middle of a pandemic. I understand raising costs but the amount they raise and the little notice proves that other Storage Units deserve business over this joke of a company. Huge step up into the unit a rented. I rented a 10x20 outside and I'm storing a car. In order to get the low profile car into the garage I have to throw down a few 2x4 because the height difference between the asphalt and the cement is over 4 inches. Rented a unit from here last year, and the DM was a total jerk the entire time I was here. During my rental time the front gate was broken open and left like that for close to 2 months. The key pad is broken, so its extremely hard to put in the code. The snow removal was done poorly, so it was hard to get into storage during the winter. Leaky unit. The storage unit was good fitting. It has no directions inside to find your unit so you will be on a wild goose chase for a bit. The price was $24 a month for a 5x10. February 1st 2021 they are planning on a 50% increase to $48 a month. Absolutely ridiculous inflation price. We are getting our stuff out ASAP and CANCELLING! Rip off. My house sold faster than I expected. I needed affordable storage quickly. They had the best rates online, Amber was so patient and kind, which I appreciated because I was scrambling. The facility is always clean, and I like that a personal code is necessary to get in and out. Cole is another team member that has been attentive, and kind. He quickly responded to an issue brought to his attention, and even gave me a curtesy follow up call, which was over and above what I expected. He's cute which is a bonus. The only thing they need more of are the rolley carts that asssist in moving large loads, because people keep stealing them. I would highly recommend this facility. read more

This Public Storage Facilty is run by a great staff! Particularly Amber! They are helpful and friendly. The units are clean and great location. The biggest bummer I have is accessing for the inside units at west end one of the buldings. If u have to use a cart from vehicle to door, the entry of west building/west entry could use some pavement build up to help move a little easier. Other then that great storage facility!!! read more

Extremely disappointed with "bait and switch" tactics. Rented unit for $126 per month starting in June and now they have increased the rental fee by 20% per month. Downsizing, Ugh! If you've ever been in this situation you know stress it brings. My wife and I have had two empty bedrooms for over a year now. With two adult children in there on places we didn't see the need to continue to lease this much space. Customer service is a very low priority here. I chose this facility solely because of a 50% discount on rental prices. There are closer facilities to me, but the price was too good to pass up. I specifically asked the agent at the time how long this discount would remain in effect and was told "indefinitely." Apparently, "indefinitely" is the Public Storage code word for "6 months" because that is when my rates reverted to full price. I called the customer service line to inquiry about the price change and was told that the 50% discount was merely a promotional rate that was only good for six months. Getting into the building is always a challenge because the entry keypad is broken (the buttons are hard to press and they don't beep to indicate a keypress). Others here have mentioned this as well, so its been like this for a while. I made several early morning trips in January and February (a 60 minute round-trip) only to discover that I could not get into the building. The last time this happened a sign was posted indicating that building access would be limited to office hours (9:00 AM to closing). I would later learn that this is being done only during extremely cold days to protect the water pipes in the building. An acceptable reason. Perhaps they should take the initiative to notify renters of this as winter is approaching. Today I needed to get into my storage unit so I waited until 11:00 am as I wanted to make sure that the office was open. This time a find a sign indicating that the office is closed between 10:30 am and 1:00 pm. This was the last straw and I decide to call the regional manager whose name and number was posted on the front door. I was matter-of-factly informed that Public Storage has regional meetings every month and all employees must attend; even if it means closing the facility so that renters cannot gain access to the building. I inquired as to why Public Storage doesn't send an email blast to all of the renters to inform them of these special closings (cold weather, regional meetings, etc). They have my email address, I can see it printed on my rental agreement. I can also see it when I access my account online. I was told by the regional manager that there system cannot do that. Really? Especially since you've been having these monthly meetings ever since Public Storage opened (these were the regional managers's own words) no one has ever looked into a means to send a message to your renters. This is 2015, not 1985, and there really is no excuse as to why a corporation cannot send out an email blast to their clients. read more

I rented here for a month and pulled my things out on a late Saturday night before my rent was due the coming Tuesday. I was about to call to vacate the unit over the phone on Monday during my lunch break and noticed a voicemail. On the voicemail was this passive aggressive version of Hal from Space Odyssey 2001 but with mildly slurred speech saying, "I need you to call me back regarding a matter with your unit." I called the number and nobody answered. I called the main public storage number to try to vacate it that way and they said I should still try to reach the manager. Why can't I just vacate on the main number? I called again and the manager, Scott (Hal), answered this time and said I still have a balance due (I was told I had to vacate by the end of Tuesday to avoid the next charge and explained this to him). He then told me nonchalantly that he would see if he could maybe trick the computer into not billing me but wasn't sure if he could. (???) I was in a hurry and told him to just leave me a message letting me know what the news was. After work I played my voicemail. Scott/Hal left a message saying, "this is your final call from public storage" and that "everything is fine and clear, and uh, have a uh, great rest of your life. Thank you for using public storage." I had to play this message three times bc it sounded so weird and I couldn't believe what he said. Where did they find this guy? I thought he was a bit odd in an unfriendly way when I briefly saw him when I first rented the unit, but "have a great rest of your life"? Wth?? I still can't tell if this guy was just awkward and was mincing words on accident, but I don't think so. "Have a great rest of your life" generally means to not come back. So yeah.. I'll go somewhere else next time. Way too weird for me. read more

Don't rent from this company the rates they advertise will be increased 5 months into the contract. We had 2 units here both with different start dates. Needless to say, 5 months in on both of them they increased 23% per month. We have since closed out one of the units. This is a scam with their pricing once you move in they figure you won't move out. Look at other companies first and compare, add 23% to the price Public Storage quotes to get better idea. read more

Poor customer service from not only this location, but horrible service from online support. After having payment issues for 2 consecutive months with my auto pay, I discovered the wrong information was inputted in the system. Tried resolving the payment issue at which I was charged extra fees for late fees and return check fees, when the wrong checking account number was enter, not even close to my personal checking account number, again an error in the system. The area manager was not even able to accommodate a curtesy credit for my problem. I would not recommend this company. read more

I was very disappointed to find out that I could be sent to collection over an empty unit. We had someone move us out and they left the lock, when my husband went to remove it he had been locked out for non payment on Aug. 7th. He tried to explain it to the Store Manager but she lied and said she had spoken to me the previous day, Aug 6th. I called her very angry because she called me on the 3rd to inform me about the non payment. She never called to tell me I needed to have it checked or lock removed before the 6th like she had told my husband she had. She tried to lie to me and then recanted and said oh yes you're right but it's too late now and I can't do anything. You'll have to pay the entire month. Why would you bother saying one thing and think that just by changing your story that that would make me want to pay. I called her DM and he was on vacation. Then I called and spoke with another DM, the call dropped and he never made the attempt to call me back. I emailed Public Storage and didn't receive an answer, now I have a collection letter. I called customer service and I have to go through the DM. This is ridiculous. This is how you know the company does not stand by the customer. The rep let me know that the DM had been there on Aug. 8th and marked the unit vacant and cleared in the morning. Which is a lie as well. We tried to do it the right way, my husband even went back and realized the gate was broken and had been that way according to another tenant. He went to talk to them and they had the door to the office closed, someone was inside on the phone but they were closed. Funny how my unit was cleared. Do not recommend this place...stay away. read more

This use to be a facility. I just rented from there and upon renting they didn't tell me that when the weather is below 30 you can only access your storage room between office hours of 930 am and 5 pm. I needed to access one evening around 7pm and my gate code didn't work. The next day I asked why and then they told me. They should let ppl know before renting. Also the door into the facility was broken so you had to go in the opposite door which was the out door so it didn't open as you were walking up to it. It has been broken for a few weeks. Also water can get into your storage space in the inside on the second floor and they don't tell you that either. The facility is NOT clean and is poorly managed and they don't have many boxes in stock either. You get what you pay for here with the first month special. read more

After realizing my need for a temporary storage unit I started doing some research and realized that it is not easy to find 1. an affordable option & 2. an facility with indoor units. I came across Public Storage in Naperville and saw the great online promotion as well as the fact that they have a month-to-month contract and decided to take advantage. Sign up was super easy online and I received a call from Amber within 30 minutes to confirm all the details. My appointment to verify everything was a breeze and Amber was outstanding. She wanted to find the best solution for me and it wasn't about making a sale, it was about making my experience a pleasant one. I will say that although the unit is indoors it is not temperature controlled, which I hope doesn't become an issue during humid summer days. Amber gave some great recommendations of how to circumvent any humidity problems and I'm sure everything will workout great. Definitely check this place as it's affordable, clean, convenient, and safe. read more

Office personnel are very nice. Other than that the place is not kept up very well. All doors are covered in dust/dirt. They had a broken gate for months. Keypad is still broken. Trees on the property are dead. They need to be cut down. Besides that and more importantly I went in to get some items out of my storage unit recently and all of the wood furniture had mold on it. Tops, sides, and undersides. The upholstery on my chair and couch is also molded. The place smells moldy now too. I have been storing there for about a year and I occasionally go in for items, so I am aware of the environment. I notified the girl in the office and she said you should have put plastic over the top of your furniture. This will not stop mold from forming on the sides and bottoms of my furniture! It only keeps moisture from settling on top. She said to call my homeowners insurance. She said shed not it in the system. Not sure what that will do. I'll be moving out. read more

Horrible management, locally and corporate. My non-profit company had a unit here for years, never-ending double-digit price increases that Public Storage refused to budge on. By the end we were paying $150/month more than the advertised price for the same unit. Could never even talk to corporate customer support, because no matter how many times I tried and no matter how much paperwork I filled out, Public Storage could never get our account set up properly as a business account instead of a personal account under our bookkeeper's name. Locally, property maintenance is a joke. Half the time the exterior lights don't work. Asphalt has sunk so it's a huge drop-off walking out the door or from an exterior unit. And forget about snow plowing, ever. Gates are randomly left open, and when broken stay broken (and open) for months on end. Look elsewhere, and away from ANY Public Storage. read more
