the property manager is very conniving and untrustworthy! she literally locked me out the day I was moving out! then noted my move out on the 3rd of the month when I moved out the 31st of the previous month! she very very shady and acted like a thief waiting to take peoples belonging! she then sent a balance for following month to collections which is also alarming with me having all my documents stating that I didn't have access, especially since she locked me out on the 31st with no balance owed! please be mindful that if you use this storage facility that you check it often, make your payments on time because she is definitely watching and waiting in her apartment above the office to take everything in the storage from you! keep all payment receipts and your move out document!! read more

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS. I have had a unit in Madison for over a year and only recently discovered the flooding of my unit. They knew and they rented that unit anyway. Every time it rains, the lower units in the back flood. I found a climate controlled unit in the area with a different company for $100 less a month. Public Storage is a horrible place. read more

Dee is the property manager here, we just moved in from a different PS location in town. The units here are very clean and well maintained. The prior location was the exact opposite at twice the price. I highly recommend Dee's location on Gallatin between the car lots. She was very helpful and professional, the other place, not so much. read more

I absolutely love Ms.Pam I was so indecisive about what I needed and didn't know what I wanted but she was so patient and helped me find exactly what I needed she didn't try to sell me anything I didnt need she explained any fees that came alone and was a great help. This place is WAY overpriced and completely anal retentive for it's value. They won't let you get the kind of lock you want on the storage, it has to be the kind THEY approve. They contact you weekly if your unit isn't closed and locked the way they want. When you're on the property trying to move stuff around and have a few things sitting on the ground, the manager came over and starting telling us they were going to charge us for "leaving things on the property". You can't pick a gate code you can actually remember, and you have to enter it to leave too? Seriously? The manager is ridiculous and the staff is lackadaisical. $70 a month for a tiny little unit with spiders is not worth the hassle for this place. read more

7/2019 - The front desk help was pleasant and cheerful until it came time for them to hard-sell the Public Storage insurance products. You are not required to purchase it, but it was presented as if you did and she didn't back off until I had to become very firm that I had no interest. It's obvious from the hard-sell tactics that Public Storage makes their money off this. From my research, Public Storage regional managers receive a bonus based upon sale of these questionable products, so do your homework before you purchase a unit at any Public Storage location. 11/27/19 update - My first review was upon signing up for the unit. This update is near the end of my stay with this Public Storage, since they announced they will be raising my monthly rent $30/month. If you plan for long-term storage, keep in-mind they will adjust your rates aggressively. read more

Public Storage - Was hot, but we go ter done! - Self Storage Near Me - Madison, Tennessee

Just wanted to share the horrible experience I've had with Public Storage on Gallatin Rd. One been renting a "climate controlled" unit from them since April. I wanted ground floor because I have a bad back and cannot carry heavy stuff up and down the stairs. I was told climate control units were only upstairs, but that they have an elevator. Every time I have been there this summer, the "climate control" section has been hotter than outdoors, even during the hottest days when we were in triple digit temps!!! I'm usually there in the evenings after their office closes, so had called each time and left messages about it, but never got any replies. Yet, they still deducted the monthly rent every month like clock work. Then, at the beginning of this month, I got an email advising that they were raising their rates effective Sep 1. So, today, I went to clean out my unit and AGAIN it was hotter than blazes in the unit. And, they had the elevator turned off, so I had to haul all of my stuff down the stairs. When I went into the office to close out my account, I told the woman all of my issues and she said nothing, no apologies, no explanations, nothing. When I asked her to explain about the unit always being hot when I purposely paid extra for a climate controlled unit, she said that climate control didn't mean air conditioned, it just means they keep it above or below a certain temperature. When I asked what that temperature was, she again didn't answer. I'm sorry, but that is completely unacceptable. So, if you're considering storage facilities, do not use this place. And, if you are storing stuff there in a "climate control" unit and have temperature sensitive items in it, you should check on them, because they basically are charging extra for NOTHING! I'd give them an absolute ZERO star rating! read more

Whatever you do, do not store your belongings here unless you want them stolen. On June 5th I went to check my storage unit to get a microwave out and upon pulling up to my unit noticed my lock had been changed. Mind you I moved my things into the unit in March of 2019. The last time I visited my unit was May 21st, 2019. Between May 21st and June 5th of 2019 my unit and all of my stuff that was in it were stolen. The employee's working stated that their corporate office had been notified and they havent done anything to improve security. They know they have a problem with their security and in the last year have done absolutely nothing to improve it. I called Madison police amd have filed a report. I found out that in the last year they have had 21 calls to that location, one of which I found out was a homicide at their entrance. Of those 21 calls 10 we're regarding break-ins and people's belongings being stolen from their locked storage unit. Not to mention you need to have an itemized statement with receipts and or pictures of what is in your unit if you choose to get the insurance just in case anything happens. Most of my belongings were in there and I lost everything, I only had $3,000 worth of insurance coverage and I feel is going to be near impossible just to get that. read more
